I was at this show. If you listen to the complete concert you will here him talk about 3 guys that looked like ZZTop. He still had a sense of humor. there was no way to know it was all about to end. Layne was such a great singer before the addiction took over. I am so thankful to be able to say I saw them with the original lineup. RIP Layne & Mike.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my gf lately xD
As a huge AIC fan from the beginning- it was beyond frustrating...rumors were everywhere and no one realized how AIC essentially stopped touring in 1993. Fans now have zero clue how horrible it was when I was a kid and these guys were my favorite band :(
layne never had enough of aic. he was in a lot of trouble with all the abuse his body took and just had to take time off. it never stopped him from giving incredible performances though. a lot of the attention he started receiving was very negative and mostly focused on his health, so he backed off the spotlight. the death of cobain shook him up a bit too, as it did with a lot of other addicts at the time, like shannon hoon from blind melon.
the death of cobain didnt mean any more than the many other heroin addicts he knew that overdosed. layne didn’t know kurt outside of hanging out with him for a few hours. according to friends of layne, he didn’t get along with the alice guys and grew bored of the same metal rock music. he was more interested in industrial towards the end.
Um, no. He was on methadone. I know this... because I had a friend who was close to the band when they toured. I won't say in what capacity. But Layne was taking meds to not be sick. Laybe couldn't hit all the notes at this point in his career, due to the abuse. But that doesn't mean its not great. (btw, you'll remember he copped at the final show in KC and OD'd but was revived.
I know man, you would think all of their performances would be up, especially the last ones like that seeing they were the most recent. Thanks man for the heads up on the video, depressing shot of him there..R.I.P.
vai fazer muita falta mais nunca vamos nos esquecer da voz do grande layne staley que ficou marcado na historia do rock layne não morreu mais sim virou uma lenda do rock alternativo e heavy metal in love the am layne staley of music ♥

Ain't it :(
He was dissapointed his body gave away, he was losing strength and was getting sicker by the day. He probably thought he would never get better.
Forfeir Schnitzel He was right,He wasn't.
He KNEW he would never get better! He said so himself.....
Drifting body, its sole desertion

Favorite version of the song. Like the way he switches it up; despite going through his addiction.

Yeah in hindsight it looks like the party was over very shortly after it got started with only a handful of years of actual touring.

Gotta feel bad for the guy. He couldn't hit the notes quite like he used to. He did really good in Kansas City which was after this.
