Your ollie video helped me a lot and it's only been a week since I got back, couldn't expect to be jumping over stuff that quickly. I'm really glad that such a pro spends his time making this type of content. It's really inspiring.
And just to add something, it makes all the sense that you have the Rodney Mullen series. On his TED talk he even mentions that the skate culture is about giving back, sharing, and so on. I'm pretty sure he's really proud of what you've been doing. We all are. Mad props from Brazil!

After almost 6 month on and off practicing 360 flips, watched literally every how to video on RUclips , got countless tips from fellow skaters I landed my first treflip!
At the beginning of my journey I always committed to it but always either didn't get the full flip, turned my body as well and almost landed or only landed on the nose with my back foot.
Then I started only half committing, getting the full rotation and all, only catching it with my front foot while the board was way in front of me. This went on for at least a month.
Yesterday I rewatched this video and thought about that part where you say I should jump a little bit in front of me. Also slomo videos I rewatched yesterday helped figuring out what the back foot really does (some sort of ankle snapping flick diagonally behind and in front of me).
So yesterday after work I tried fusing that all together. Jumping forward and the back foot ankle motion. It took me 6 trys and I landed it! Stationary btw.
I'm so looking forward to today practicing it while rolling!
This video helped getting the last bit of barrier between me and a landed treflip!
Thank you so much for that!

Best trick ever! First Landed this trick almost 20 years ago, stopped skating for many years and now in my somewhat fragile, older self; I can still land this trick since I decided to get back on the board again. funny treflips and kickflips are the only tricks I can do consistently.. the rest of the tricks have gone to a place where muscle memory has no access to. It's like learning it all over again!

    • @SkateSka
      @SkateSka 3 года назад

Was gonna say the same. It might be easier to do an awful varial flip, but I've done less than 10 in 17 years of skating, cause I quickly learned it's easier to control tres.

I don't think you need Varial... Tre flip flips easier. It's physically a more stable rotation than a varial.

    • @Minhlamb

i think a varial will reinforce the flick so when you tre it is going to be easier to focus on the back leg

I'm a 47yo skater. I don't wanna say ex-skater, since I skate regurlarly... as in a few times every summer since I was about 20. So, regurlarly.
I've nailed this trick once, back in the day. Rolled away and all. Thankfully my buddies saw it, and I was beyond proud. This is an epic trick, legendary almost to us kids back then. I was the only one of us to nail it. It was the holy grail among street tricks.
_... Is_ the holy grail, and I would really love to nail it again. And this tutorial might just help me do that.
    This summer, this summer...
I'll let you know if I succeed. Just like I will ofcourse tell my old buddies 🙂

I tried tre flips for over a year as a kid and never landed a single one...it was my dream trick...I stopped skating shortly after that.
11 years and one global pandemic later and I decide to pick up skating again now that I'm home alone all the time. After re-teaching myself all the build up tricks for that past few weeks, I saw this video, went outside and tried to make these adjustments...after 30 mins of adjusting my feet and where my weight was over the board I finally landed my first one ever. I stomped 5 more in the next hour.
Thank you Jonny for helping me to conquer that childhood demon. You are helping so many people reach their goals with these videos...never stop doing what you do.

I feel like this helped me. I WILL get these down. Currently skating an 8.5 Welcome with proper width trucks. And it's way different than what I skated growing up. I'm getting back into skating after a very long time of not skating at all. I can 360 pop shuv my new setup easily.. But tre flips are still the enemy. You make them look perfect.. So my goal is to learn them in this same style. Thanks for the tips!

Not a fan of leaving comments, but I've always attempted this trick a few times while skating since I was a kid. Never sat down and tried to learn it until about 3 months ago and I just couldn't get it. After watching your video and hearing to just move my front foot forward something clicked and I've finally got them on lock. Much love bro.
