- From our 1st Season of Paramount's hit 80s TV series, "SOLID GOLD", enjoy our host, DIONNE WARWICK singing her hit, "MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF", produced by myself (Solid Gold's musical director and theme composer, Michael Miller - aka "Mickle"). The performance is from Season 1 - Episode 6 of SOLID GOLD, which aired on Oct. 18, 1980, and Dionne is introduced by jazz/R&B superstar, George Benson.

Not being a singer, I am intrigued by her lips that shape the sounds only with smallest movements.... it's like a constant gentle smile❤
Ms. Dionne can massage the h*ll out of her notes, phrases, and lyrics. She is such an amazing iconic vocalist/songstress!!! Anybody caught the high headvoice @2:47!! Her vocal are so tricky and one of a kind❤

I agree that very few singers can perform a song live and sound even better than the recorded version
It is obvious why Dionne Warwick had wanted "Make It Easy On Yourself" to be her first release in 1963. She caresses every lyric like no other singer has done in the history of the Burt Bacharach-Hal David song!!! I am so glad that she had the opportunity to perform these hits of hers on "Solid Gold" along with the other material that she had sung for the show.
This video is remarkably clear and the sound is as well, so clear, in fact, that it is hard to believe that it is from October 1980. "Solid Gold" was really a busy and fast-moving show!!! If you had missed a moment, you had missed a lot. This performance is simply divine!!!

This is a great live version. The record company should have still have allowed her to release this as single after Don’t Make Me Over.
Some parts of the piano arrangement remind me of "The Greatest Love of All", fantastic song.
