Bought a daily 540i V8!! - IT SOUNDS INSANE (Must Hear)

- Decided to pick up a cool daily so I found a 2001 E39 BMW 540i MSport 6MT V8. It came with secondary cats deleted already and the previous owner gave me a straight pipe that deleted the stock muffler and resonator so I wasted no time in putting that on loll..
It is a bit over the top loud and I have since reinstalled the resonator with just the muffler deleted but I want that raw v8 tone again and am going to maybe go for a smaller resonator hopefully that will do the trick.

My car has 105 bhp 2.0L 4 cylinder 8 valve cast iron volkswagen with a single cam and no variable valve timing 😂 feela good when im still a bit faster than a honda fit. No offense...mine is built in 2001 mejico with upside down piston rings insyalled thanks to a press that stamped the rings upside down (just on cylinder 2) at the factory. Have close to 300k kms. I believe i can make it hahaha

BMW is known for the inline 6. V8 is underpowered. Taking the exhaust off decreases torque and overall performance.

Man, I miss my E39 540i 6MT. I had an intake and catback exhaust--sounded very similar to this. The most gratifying engine sound I've ever experienced. I'd always get asked if I had an LS swap in it. I was proud to let them know it was a 4.4L V8 German muscle car. Haha!
I still have the headers I was gonna throw in before I sold it, just in case I end up getting another one.
Now that is damn nice sounding BMW V8. Imagine if the new M5 sounded like this.

American cars are the slowest hahaha just because they have 1 thousand hp does not mean it's fast. Mustang have always been slow cars same as Dodge and Chervolet. Plus it's shit quality
the problem with most big v8's is that they weigh so much.. so yeah a lot of them arent really super fast..

Lmao theyre not supposed to be fast. With long tube headers, ktuner v2, SRI, and some tires you can put some damage on some cars. Stock its 0-60 in alittle over 6 seconds and it gets35 mpg. Independent rear suspension and a beautiful positrac LSD. Cars sick and they design them for the track. Dont forget honda held the world's fastest lap time on the Nurburing with the type R.

I can slap a turbo with injectors , maybe fuel pump, that's it and push 400hp 280trq on my K20z3. That's how you embarrass a lot of people. 100hp per cylinder at 2800lbs lol oh and redline starts at 8k.

I had a 530i with a 5 speed stick I poured a lot of time effort and money into. Most weekends I was under the hood trying to make it as best as I could. Got off the freeway one day and some kid made an illegal u turn off the shoulder 10 yards in front of me. Miss that car every day

Had a BMW just like this pull up next to me at a toll booth in RVA today. Heard it pull up and swore it was a cammed 60s muscle car, but when I looked over and saw a black BMW with the engine sticking out of the hood I knew I was in for a treat when he took off. Sounded just like this.

An E34 or E39 540i Sport with manual transmission is my real world dream car. The E34s are getting rarer but I want a V8 in my life (quite rare in the UK).

I own a E39 5 series 6 cylinder great for long distance drives, drove from LA to San Diego and back on half tank average speed 85 BUT a 540i headers and cat back for weekend driver for fun now that's my plan. Love that BMW V8 sound, Ya Boy!!!!!!

Porsche BMW Chevy Audi you probably think yours is high mileage lol, I have a manual converted 540ti (wagon) and I have the same exhaust on it as well as m5 front and rear bumpers. Mine currently has 230,000 and is going strong. I have Done timing chains and guides, head gasket, timing chain gasket, lower oil pan gasket, the car is bullet proof, anyone who says they are unreliable has never owned a bmw. I also own a e46 M3 in interlagos blah metallic and it’s also a cs car, but she is kinda a garage queen at the moment because I love my e39 so much.

It's because of the straight pipes, doesn't have a o2 sensor most likely so its tripping, same thing in any car, take the o2 out and it'll show up
