@@chrism9294 Because they were panicking. You can't predict how you'll react when you're in shock. You can claim you'll be as level-headed as this boy, but the truth is - you won't know until it happens to you (and still, each time you might react in a different way). Some people lose their shit or freeze, and it's a completely normal behaviour. That's why you need to point at someone (even an adult) and tell them, specifically, to call the police/ambulance instead of yelling "call the xxxyyy"

I have a tip from First Aid training: when 9-1-1 needs to be called, instead of yelling out "someone call 9-1-1," point at someone and ask if they have a phone and will call. If they can't, point at the next person and say "YOU, call 9-1-1." Otherwise, everyone thinks someone else is calling. It's called the bystander effect. What great quick thinking from this young man!

@@LookingGlass363 I'm guessing that he feels he didn't do anything special. He looks annoyed at being praised for doing what needed to be done. Everyone else might have been injured or worse had he not taken action.

He reminds me of my child. He's an introvert and attention makes him uncomfortable to the point he looks annoyed. My son is 21 years old and this type of display still makes him react like this.

I'm sure it's embarrassing for him getting this attention and also upsetting. The way he ran to the front because he was observant and like the officer said....stopped the bus and held the wheel was just amazing to watch. He also can be seen getting to put it in park and demanding someone calling 911. Think about that. He had some else call 911 so he could open the door and be there with driver. I am super thankful this kid is around because it shows when an emergency happens he faces the emergency and doesn't freeze. Had he not acted it could of been worse. Amazing
