- A school bus driver had a medical emergency just outside of Detroit. She radioed for help, but before she could pull the bus over, she passed out. The bus veered into oncoming traffic. That's where 13-year-old Dillon Reeves stepped in. FULL STORY: abc7chicago.co...
That kid’s gonna be a perfect first responder, he already has the instinct to act fast.
I just read an article about him and apparently he didn't have a cell phone. His father said that he doesn't give him a cellphone because that way he has to look around, interact, and be able to respond to what's happening and be part of the world. Imagine that. It's really pretty depressing how connected kids are to their phones Non-Stop. I'm so glad that wasn't my childhood. There were so many great things that I was able to see on my way to school, on my way to the park. And now when I walk around all I see are people including children, very young children even, with their faces stuck in their phones. I've actually twice had to stop somebody from walking in front of a bus. I swear people just don't know what they're missing out on by burying their face in a little computer.
And yet luckily someone had a cell phone to call 911
The thinking on the fathers part is not wrong, but it's extremly naive and narrowminded.
Giving the kid a phone with only calling capacities and sms are good enough, such phones are still made today. Back in my day calling and SMS was all we had and it barely distracted at all.
If that kid was my son...MAN...I am so proud of him. He is a REAL HERO in my eyes.
The pat his dad gave him ! Man, you can see the pride in his dad in each pat
Yes he is a hero, 100%.
Good job buddy.
It takes a special person to step up sir. Most people watch and sit. You saved the lives of everyone on that bus.
What an absolutely amazing and humble young man! You can tell his parents could not be prouder. Nor could the country! ❤
Well done Dillon, calm, cool and collected . A true hero. Watching from Australia.
This is why kids NEED THEIR PARENTS TO TEACH THEM!!! Teach them how to do things. Period.
WHAT A GREAT YOUNG MAN. WHO DIDN'T FREEZE LIKE I WOULD HAVE.,.TY TY TY..GOD BLESS U
It was really brave of him to try to figure it out and not get anxious, especially big equipment.
YOUNG MAN YOU ARE A HERO ❤
kid is old beyond his years
What a sweet kid! Standing ovation for his parents.
the only one´s that wish for him to become a police officer/fire fighter/EMS more than him self is the rest of the world. You are not a kid anymore Dillion, you are THE man!
Bless him
My instinct tells me, he has a good life ahead of him.
Not all heroes, wear capes.
Sweet guy with a practical mind! Great job!
I think drivers should teach kids how to stop buses incase of emergencies like that!! Just SHOWING them how to stop the bus incase of those situations! Most kids are taught about the emergency CB radio's. But showing them how to stop the bus incase of scenario's where the driver gets knocked out, or a medical emergency could save the lives of everyone on the bus! Like this heroic kid did!
💯
How is the bus driver?
Did he get a ticket for driving a bus without a license?
Will not be surprised if he is issued a ticket by the police.
I 🫡 you for this heroic action! Good job buddy 😊
When you sit back and think what potentially could have happened, it shows even more so how remarkable his actions were!! Good job Dillan! 👍👍♥️
He is an angel thank God for using him 👍🕊
Naa dont ever call anyone an angel if they are still living but he definitely is a hero
How rude of you giving a fictional character credit for what a real human being did. Shameful.
❤️
Good move son! But while ppl are donating to his gofund me , don't forget about Lahaina fire victims!! Or the bus driver who is out of work for 6 months now!! The boy says he didn't expect anything and was just stopping the bus.. lives saved is good payment no?? I mean he deserves recognition and that $ will likely be used for something good but the driver has 3 young kids and a mortgage!
Wait… he has the same last name as 2 Supermans! Christopher Reeve and George Reeves.
🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
Good boy
He’s such a hearo
If I could, I'd pay his tuition in advance!
Came here for those last 3 second
That kid is a herto!
👍👏❤💐🇹🇭
Million like ❤
I just want to know about the mechanics of it. Did his foot really reach past the driver's legs to the brake pedal? Or did he just attempt that, and when it fail solve it with the gear shift or handbrake?
Not trying to make it sound like I doubt what happened, just interested in how one correctly stops a car with a driver in it; it's intriguing.
He used the emergency handbrake and turning the wheel. That’s how
The 1st think he did though was put his right leg on the brake down below
Hes kinda tall for a lil kid his leg reached the brake and the driver might have not been on the brake at the time
@@drose184 7th grade is not a lil kid 💀
the police department should accept this kid 20 years later
That was nice to hear he wanted to be a first responder
its her hormone blockers who got the better of her
Dillon, you aren't a hero so much as a fine young man who is being g raised correctly by loving parents. I see at least 3 heroes here.
