Nilgiri Railways steam engine

The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR), better known as Ooty toy train is the highlight of the popular hill town of Ooty in Tamil Nadu, India. This is a world heritage train that travels between Mettupalayam to Ooty via Coonoor daily and imparts picturesque views while providing relief from the stifling summer heat. Started in the year 1899, it has continued to charm its visitors with equal zest winding its way through the best of nature. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005.
