This show was like a good book series where you fall in love with all the characters and hate when you finish the series. Then the rest of your life you read them over and over.
Check out the new episodes! They have their own youtube channel with new digs supported via Patreon. Same producers, a lot of the same people. Matt’s all grown up! It’s pretty awesome.
@@jcollins3182I agree, some people keep lamenting that it’s not the same, but of course it won’t be the same. I think despite that, they are really producing some quality stuff still.
I just finished a month's long binge of all 20 original years, plus the new series of Time Team. (Had to distract myself from American election results somehow). I can think of nothing better that topping them off by watching the specials and then starting all over.
..I have dug sites like that and the structure ended up being built on piers... all good, the house goes up, the graves stay put and it sunds like his life actually improved after all the crap... new wife, new kids and a new job!
The upside is he has a new job, a new wife with kids (which he sounded happy about), a new home, and he was able to dump a major headache, all in 3 years. I'm sure the legal crap that goes along with the divorce felt like insult ontop of injury. Sounds like the universe was just pointing him to a better place.
And the local archeologist (who's ultimately responsible for every one of his troubles!) was almost gleeful about it, when she wasn't disinterested in his problems. She's anitch with a bee buzzing around.
Sadly, I kno just how that feels, then my eldest daughter c£aimed i was a toxic dad cause i spanked her once when she was lying to me did she talk to the other two into going along and no I haven't talked to any of them in 3 years. So Christmas is in a few days woohoo
As an American I've grown bored by our shows and looking to our English friends I've fallen in love with the show and all the characters. I absolutely love English accents, I don't know why, I just do
Mick and Phil are an era, i will miss them on the show but look forward to the new stuff. i ALWAYS wonder why they have the 3 day deadline, i wonder it all the time when watching because not all sites are the same and some REALLY seem like they need and deserve more time. so its nice to hear an answer for that. my other question is always what happens after they leave, do other people keep on working it when something interesting is found. well i guess i do have one more question or maybe its just a statement that i always wonder about. they find burials and remains, they find huge mosaic floors, they find things like this i am just sort of speechless by the concept that they then just cover them right back up with dirt and leave them there. it just always feels to me like they should be preserving it in some way, and especially in the case of remains like they should reinter it somehow in a way that will protect what is left so maybe future archeologists with better technology can reexamine them again if they eveer return to the site.
It's an incredible find in England, that 200K years ago Mammoths, other elephants and lions roamed the land... With stone tool proof that humans lived along side them!
Regarding the ancient reverbed dig: Gee I wonder while so many animals were dying and their bones all jumbled up together like that? A massive flood maybe?
Many animals came to drink and others to prey on the weaker ones as they drank. No doubt there were struggles ending in death. Just like at water holes across todays world.

no apology for ruining a mans life, and it looks like the new owner is going to have the same problems ? ? ? and all because the guy was honest and reported the find
THEY DIDN'T RUIN HIS LIFE.. the laws surrounding the archaeology set forth by the government have.. Time Team showed up to excavate the area where he wanted to build. sadly the owner waited to long and his funds and wife ran out.. the New owner is in same issue, having to excavate the area He wants to build upon there.
..I have dug jobs like this where the house is put on piers and the graves are left intact...no sweat, and it actually sounds like his life improved after that crap hit the fan --- new wife, new kids, new job! ....
"a bunch of people with extraordinary haircuts and an even worse dress sense" says the man who wore a pubic fringe on his chin for two seasons and refused to wear larger shirts to accommodate his steadily bulging belly.
Dsmn Tony, ive seen you do some insensitive things like jumping in a cleaned trench or pick up a priceless find like it was a salt-shaker, but when the guy tells you he lost it all, and then says his wife left him...i dont think you should have laughed right at him.
it's OK -- people hear what they hear. We see only minutes out of longer encounters, no idea of the interaction, and guess based on how it feels. What I hear is Tony reacting to the absurdity: things getting exponentially worse. But obviously it turned out for the better, so it's OK to laugh
The poor man who lost everything, this will be a warning not to let Time Team on your property, and Tony had the nerve to act like it was good because all had been resolved. A family was ruined!!!!!!!! I like to watch Time Team but this was horrible>>>
Time Team had nothing to do with his problems. That was the local archeological people. Tony spent a chunk of time trying to resolve those problems. The local archeologist masquerading as a female dog didn't care she was ruining the man's life.
I love Time Team but do not like how carenza has taken over kicks girl friend don't like how she thinks this is her show everyone knows how she got her job
Greatest collection of charachters I've ever come across. Excellent job Time Team. From the diggers to the producers.....Great job!
So lovely to see people finding joy in their work.
I'd love to see an episode based on Victor's drawings, he has such a beautiful style. I envy his detailed lines and simple coloring.
There is a program on You Tube somewhere featuring him and his drawings. Entire his name and it'll come up.
I. Totally agree

Robin Bush sadly died in June 2010 and the much missed venerable Mick Aston passed away June 2013 .
Beric, too.
@@phoule76 And Victor, last year.
Such great real human characters!!!
Someone will go in search of them in a thousand years!!!
@yvonneemmoh i hope not let them rest an enjoy the work.....ert904
How cool would that be having an archway in your home dating from the medieval times?! And a post made from a tree from the 800's!
Sorry to hear of the loss of these two talented fellows! Have enjoyed their part in these videos, very much!
Phil and his Robert Plant hair in that first episode...Tony with a mullet, even!
I feel for the poor bastard who lost everything, including his marriage...that really sucks! Little guy 0 Vs Bank 1

I can not fathom 1997 was 24 years ago! *The 90's were the most Normal Decade of the past 100 years.* I can vouch for it in the past 50 years.
that cheeky drawing at the end made me smile so huge! LOVE IT!
Victor's drawing at the end is great!
Seeing the geese fly over them while paddling that boat was such a lovely sight!
You know the entire crew was tickled to pieces with the timing. It turned out to be a gorgeous shot.
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! 😎
Truly enjoy watching these. I use to watch on TV. Miss these programs.
while i can see this Episode is 8 years old, for me Carenza Lewis is the most courageous woman of them all! - chapeau - Madam!
haha John's favourite find was an entire abbey he found with geo-phys. great touch!
Wow, thank you for posting these!!!
Love this SOOO much!
I have always wanted to meet the members of the time team even go on a dig with them
Oh. Brilliant

Yes, a very belated thank you for the reply. I totally missed that the question had been answered. :) Thank you!
Delightful
let me see, mammoth tusk, parts of an Elephant, the jaw of a lion all at the same dig in the UK. The most important find in the whole series.
epic episode
When ya really like "playing in the dirt"! ...get paid for it. 🌐
Where's Victor's rendition of Phil?

It is a shame that people don't have pride in their past and want to save historical sites and not use them for an bloody land fill etc
Tons, or tonnes?
"a bunch of people with extraordinary haircuts and an even worse dress sense" says the man who wore a pubic fringe on his chin for two seasons and refused to wear larger shirts to accommodate his steadily bulging belly.
Somebody has their own fashion sense 😊
Bless them all. Those gone and those still with us. Also the guy with the graves being charged for the dig and stuff is not right.
Charged by the local Archeology Society that was doing it, I gather. *That* I would have fought.

That was a laugh of total disbelief, not humor.
I have a bad habit of laughing when I'm uncomfortable. Maybe Tony does too 🤷♀️❤️
RIP Mick Aston...If ya want sense find a Black Countryman !
Man Phil has long pretty fingernails for a guy who digs in dirt all day long!
He has to have them as he plays guitar.
He digs with tools.
So, if you find something old on your property, tell nobody about it and build right over it
Definitely

I don’t know. How did she get the job?
Carenza is smart and hardworking ! How dare you slander a real archeologist while you sit in your sagging lounge chair!!
