@@mjambo697 A belated Happy New Year to you both. Hope you have many well-deserved and pleasant mooring beers this year. ⛵️🌝
So happy to see Jambo with a mast on deck! I imagine you are overjoyed. Thank you for sharing this part of your journey with us!
Ma pleasure! Thank you and fair winds 😀⛵⛵
Happy to see your new mast is up , must feel great !!
Yes, it does! Thank you 😀⛵⛵
Fantastic Martin, so good to see you afloat.
Thank you very much 👍😀⛵️⛵️
❤so happy for You All, on Jambo, to see Her refitted and remasted, for some new Adventures.
Fair seas and happy travels. Stay safe and salty 🙏❤️🧉🥃⛵️❤️
Dont forget the Rum for both Crew and Jambo. Cheers and a big Prost, Ihr Beide.
Yes, we are looking forward to the future! Thank you very much and best regards 😀⛵⛵
Congratulations! It’s obvious how pleased you are. I wish you many thousands of miles of pleasurable sailing with your new rig. I noticed a somewhat larger Jambo moored ahead of yours. If you ever want a catamaran, you won’t have to change the name! 😂
In the olden days a gold coin was placed under the mast when it was stepped. Maybe you followed the tradition?
Th other Jambo was the big sister. Thank you very much! I did not know about this tradition. Kind regards 😀⛵⛵
Looks great. Thanks Martin
Thank you 😀⛵️⛵️
Big Jambo meets your Jambo! New rigging looks great
Yes, the big sister! Thank you and fair winds 😀⛵⛵
Great to see this and finally Jambo is all intact again.
Thank you and kind regards 😀⛵⛵
Lets hope everything runs smoothly. According to Tomas from be free Carribe is a professional and trustworthy establishment.
Now we rely on you to test his claims.
Best regards from Jarle
Thank you very much and fair winds 😀⛵⛵
Nice to see her back on the water with her hair down.
Thank you 😀⛵️⛵️
Greatness! I am planning to get an inner forstay. It would be excellent to see how you managed yours, especially the attachment point in the deck? Do you have running backstays also?
Thank you! The attachment for the stay sail is an anchor plate, which sits at the wall between anchor chain box and bow-cabin. You see it in the video, during last third. However, I am going to strengthen that, just making a plan and sourcing some material to get that done in February. I’ll keep you updated in the video. Kind regards 😀⛵⛵
@mjambo697 Thanks. The reason I am so interested in this is that I have a similar bulkhead, and I am not sure if it is strong enough to be an attachemet point for the stay sail. Patrik Laine did a similar solution but added a beam to get more strength to the attachment point and bulkhead.
@@topc9858 I will share my changes in one of the future videos. Not in the next two, as they are already filmed and need to be cut. But maybe in Ep 22 or 23
@mjambo697 Thanks, that would be very nice of you.
Yippie!
A difference roller upfront. But pretty much everything else is just a replacement of what was there before? Or, did you upgrade other items too?
Thank you! Yes, almost the same. The differences are: Profurl instead of Furlex, 2nd forstay and different material for the shrouds and stays, dyform versus standard, diameters are the same. Best regards 😀⛵⛵
Yeah Profurl is a much better furler. We have a hank on staysail and Profurl on the Genoa. So smooth and really robust build. Glad to see all the new gear finally on JAMBO. Fair winds
What mast steps did you use? I'm looking to do ours as well
great ! the foresail required cutting the inner fiberglass ceiling right ? how you plan covering that? congratulations again
Thank you! Not quite sure if I understand the question correctly. The steel attachment has been sealed. They cut a slot into the teak deck and the fiberglass below down to the bow cabin. The flat steel was put through and mounted at the wall between the anchor chain box and the cabin. This steel attachment has been sealed. I hope I could answer the question. Kind regards 😀⛵⛵
Very happy for you.. 💪🏻
Thank you 😀⛵⛵
Just ordered your book !
Thanks a lot and enjoy reading 😀⛵️⛵️
So so pleased for you. Have a superb 23. Cheers 🍻
Thank you and best regards 😀⛵⛵
Hi Martin, I am very very happy for you for new mast. Good wind
Thank you very much and fair winds 😀⛵⛵
Congratulations. Question, how do you tack the genoa from port to starboard with the second furler in the way; do you have to furl it up to change from port to starboard tack
Thank you! It needs to be furled in almost completely. But on long ocean cruises I usually tack once a day or even less. If it is more than that the stay sail could be used. 😀⛵️👍
@@mjambo697 Got it; thanks!
well done back together
Thank you 😀⛵⛵
I am happy for you guys!
Thank you 😀⛵️⛵️
Looks like a good experience at Carribe.
What is the name of your Insurance who also appear to have been helpful and agreeable to these very expensive works?

Fair winds 😀⛵⛵
Wow, that was a lot of work to get done in 20:16. Ha ha. Great job. A great thing to have done!!
Thank you and fair winds 😀⛵⛵
Hi what caused mast failure I have Bavaria. 38
Unfortunately, the root cause remains unclear, as the mast would have been examined, which is now at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. The surveyor, who was on board, did not come to a better conclusion, too. The rigg is just 3 years old. However, after some feedback and viewing some of the video recordings my theory is that it could be that the cotter pins of the upper spreader broke. Since the mast was then no longer supported by the upper shroud but still well supported by the lower shrouds, it broke in the middle first, only to completely collapse shortly afterwards. But that is just my theory.
Martin. mein Tipp, kauf deiner Frau zum neuen Mast ne neue Sonnenbrille:-)
What about Spanish?
🤣 not considered…
