Check out Aldino on Sailing Magic Carpet, very gifted boat maker who refit his boat with external chain plates and he also has a beautiful rub rail that he to cut- turned out perfect.

@@MrFormeypi I do follow them, love the Cape George! I just sent them a msg about the sekaflex they used :)

The bearded butterfly! The growth isn’t too bad but anti foul is sparse close to the waterline. Interesting.

Yep!! We are about to grind her down to bare fiberglass this month and put on some nice new antifoul. Likely so sparse by the waterline because the diver cleaned it well there is my guess

We will be hauling out for the first time this year! Super nervous but it needs to be done, wished we were further south, Chiapas looks more refreshing than the desert haul outs here in northern Baja 😂

@@sailingtengai it’s a pretty popular spot for most! The marina is nice and the prices for being on the card are great. It’s great to get a good look at the bottom and do maintenance. We are currently driving down to the boat now from TX…will be there in 3hrs!! ❤️❤️🙏🦋

I guess I missed the part about why you need to replace the chain plates? The chain plates on my Whitby 55 is good for 150 years.

@@FranklinGray her age…we did our due diligence, and glad we decided to do it…two of our plates were already cracked in half! Scary stuff for sure 🥲🥲
