    Hey kid, beautiful vessel, you can tell you’re a competent and knowledgeable skipper however, you are making this old man nervous. Your parents would sleep better at night if you were to stay one step ahead of Murphy by following safety protocols. You only have one life to lose and trust me when I tell you when Murphy comes he does so with speed, surprise and violence of action.
    Great video, keep them coming 🤙🏼

No ridiculous music, widget shilling, intro, etc. kept my attention the entire time. It was really nice to hear you thank your dad. My entire channel has been centered around showing up for my kids. Our dearest Peter: We are so proud of you. I am glad sailing brought us together all those years ago and we have so many memories on and off the water. To watch you tackle this passage with what can only be described as "Peter force" is a privilege and we are so glad we could be there through the projects, the mental highs and lows and cheer you on from your starting line. I am so glad Starlink continued to keep us connected so I could still be your night watch buddy from all those miles away and look forward to seeing where Kessel takes you next. Sail on, Ocean Cowboy. We love you! xoxoxo Missa, Chris and Cleocat

    When one accidentally has too much sail up in a strong wind or a squall rather than battle it, it is best to just ‘heave too’ to calm everything, have a rest and a think; then go head to wind and double reef both sails, otherwise it gets unnecessarily scary and things break.

    Hi Man.
    Without any doubt and I am convinced that a Hans Christian or a Lord Nelson will take you anywhere, the stability is great with that solid weight moving water, from the wake I could calculate by eye that you did not go below 6 knots, I imagine that that Christian boat can reach 7.5 ina touch
    I have a list of 20 blue water sailboats between 36 and 41 feet, H.Christian and L. Nelson continue in the first two seats. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
    This passage was great.
    P.S. Get your mind used to seeing the positive in ALL things during your trip. Do not allow any circumstance to change you, you must be the one to change each circumstance.
    VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT.

I would be walking round with a safety rope or harness in those deep seas, especially sailing alone

    What a perfect video to capture life at sea! This was similar to the crossing we made three years ago from PV to Hawaii. We all make our own choices in life, and I won't dwell on this, but it wouldn't break my heart to see you clipped in to a jackline. Even with my First Mate onboard, we clip in whenever going forward. Anyways, be safe and i look forward to your future videos! SV Jean Anne, 1986 Lord Nelson 35.

    Those were touching comments regarding the support of your Dad. Your boat is fabulously prepared which keeps the bad times from becoming overwhelming. I have crewed around the Pacific on friends' boats, but never managed to get my own boats prepared for trips past my Hawaiian Islands. I congratulate you on that epic effort. I can tell its a Hans Christian 36? or 38?, but imagine the many people who are interested in the same boat, considering it for purchase, and would love to see one in action, not just a broker's crappy photos. I subbed.

  • @TonyRaincoat
    @TonyRaincoat 24 дня назад +1

    Absolutely beautiful boat, man. Hans Christian? The tanbark sails compliment so well.
    However, for someone who isn’t content with 7 knots on an ocean crossing, you certainly picked the wrong boat lol. That need for speed put you in multiple dangerous situations, especially for a solo sailor.
    Reef early, sail at 80% and you won’t have these problems. 22 days from Mexico to French Polynesia in such a far boat is crazy fast.

    Great video! Birds don't care about green energy ... This trip reminds me of the first time my son joined me for a sail ... the wind was strong the entire trip and now he expects all trips to be at hull speed! Definitely have balls to enter a strange port in the dark. What could go wrong!!! lol
