- Parenting a child with severe disabilities is a labor of love that few people understand. But Rob and Cheryl Trotter know the endurance 24/7 supervision requires. Their son Sam has multiple disabilities and the demands surrounding his care threatened to leave Rob and Cheryl depleted both physically and emotionally. Together they longed for a place of rest and acceptance for their family.

Family Retreat!
My parents took care of my disabled brother for 10 years in their home. It changed the whole family. But they didn't give up until they were 80.
That is so wonderful praise God, praying for these wonderful families.
Word's can't express how grateful I am to the Lord for the love being poured out on families with disabilities. The Lord has made me see what really matters. He helped me see not only the brokenness in me, but brokenness in others and He pours His love into us so we can pour into others. If we could just get our eyes on Him and what He did for us... God bless Joni and Friends and everyone who has a heart to serve.

This was such an honest and beautiful testimony.... we have a dear young grandson who is severely autistic and needs constant vigilance, his mum and dad live next door to us so we can share some of his care....we can empathise with what Sams mum shares here. To see Sam worshiping was so touching. When l pray with our grandson when he stays overnight l wonder does he understand who The Lord Jesus is and have often asked that the Lord would visit him in his dreams. This was so encouraging to watch.... may God bless you as you have blessed me.
