Why do people click on a video that says "Beatles" & "Funk Cover" & then complain that the song deviated from the original? If you're a purist who thinks the song can't be topped, then why bother coming HERE? CLEARLY this channel's for people who think otherwise, & IMHO did a fine job with a wonderful vocal performance, & tight rhythm section
I can't understand why either. I do prefer the original but I've listened to it a million times. Yesterday might even be my favorite beatles song. It's refreshing to me to hear it presented in a different style. Especially when they did such a good job like this one
Scary Pockets... Heard one song: Hey, they are good! Second song: Hey, they are REALLY good! Third song: OMG After 45 mins: My new favourite band this year
I sent a link of one song to my sister just a few minutes ago and told her that I couldn't stop listening them... I think She will be in the same situation :D
Pockets fans!! India Carney is back for a rendition of the McCartney masterpiece, Yesterday. We've got a recording session coming up this weekend, and we're going to do 4 new tunes to be released once per week over the next month!!! And after that session, we'll have 13 songs total since our last record, so we're going to release the 2nd Scary Pockets record. WOOT! Finally -- Ryan and I were talking about this band yesterday, and we're now getting 500,000 views per month.... We only started 6 months ago, so this has been beyond our wildest expectations. We're so, so, so grateful that you all are enjoying, listening, and watching. It means the world to us that you're digging our funk arrangements, making amazing comments about the groove, instrumentation, and gear, and just being there for the next videos. Pockets is really starting to feel like a community, which is freaking fun as heck, and more than we ever expected in 6 months. SO THANK YOU ALL!! Here's to the next 6 months!!
Brilliant But too much vocal gymnastics for my personal taste.. She's enjoying this moment and that shows 100% in her exuberance. She is very very talented. But could hold back a tad. That's why for me Karen Carpenter has no equal. No gimmicks no gymnastics no vibrato Pure singing. My top 3 women singers in no particular order. Karen Carpenter Eva Cassidy Barbara Streisand
When breath becomes another instrument, simplicity is the only way. I love how modern technology allows the listener to hear so much from the live room. Excellent mix.
I’m in LOVE with this version of Yesterday! EVERYONE is STELLAR- OUTSTANDING! Because of this song, I started listening to their music! India Carney is absolutely talented! This Band is really GREAT! 👍👍👍👍👍
I can confidently say I’ve contributed to about about half of the 38k views on this video lol. India was incredible as always, and the minimalistic arrangement was perfect for this song. It takes real musicianship to know when to hold back, and y’all are real musicians! Keep up the great work y’all!
Am just only singing for 3 years now....and I am so in love with india...now I know that is so tough to do what she do.....LOVE YOU GIRL...YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION!!
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay Oh, I believe in yesterday Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be There's a shadow hanging over me Oh, yesterday came suddenly Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm Source: LyricFind
Totally agree. I’m a musician and singer myself. I am blown away by her voice. She has an incredible range of control over many areas of her dynamics. Just all around awesome technique and of course a beautiful soul. ❤️
@@kaylabeshears5512 - OMG. She was on that show… And didn’t win? I think the judges need their heads examined. But you know what? The judges know damn well that a program like theirs carries someone’s career forward. I think she’s too real for them. You’ve got to be a little bit of plastic for them to get on your train. The hell with them. She’ll find her way. 💪
We need more like this, not millions billions produced bull.... music! Money could save other places too, not to raise millionaires pocket more and more like as if they deserved it! But thankz for the music!
obviously everybody will ask about Wilkes (including myself), but this version is soft and smoothly well arranged. and what could we say about India Carney? every single phrase that she sings sounds perfect. you guys always nail it! congrats from São Paulo, Brazil!
This is Scary Pockets at their best: they make a scary musical pocket, so much luscious space in the mix. Love the bass. So simple, restrained, and strong. Git and drums are fab. India, beautiful. Soooo good.
Omg this gave me life love her voice and this cover is amazingggggggg ! Her vocal control is awesome Jesus this talent needs to be recognised absolutely amazing xxx
Had me in a trance... absolutely beautiful (I could feel the beat in my body and the rhythm paired with the singers voice is giving me my new favourite feeling, I can't believe only now I hear and listen to a funk track)
i 've heard somewhere in youtube whitney houston saying that it was her most favorite song! so it's cool to have a hint of it in the way of india carney sing it! wonderful!
Ryan bringing the awesome Goldblum/Atticus look again! India simmering all over it. Old familliar - somewhat a heavy song - with a fresh take Awesome altogether.
If Sammy Davis Jr. could tap dance over piano keys, he wouldn't glide through notes as smoothly as this woman can. And Sammy was a Magician! India is LIFE! 🤎🤎🤎
Thank you for covering this. I feel this song so much at this point in my life. Awesome to just be able to breath and find rest in the song and the cover. Thank you.
Her voice is amazing. She doesn't have that weird accent thing that people have when people sing... I can't explain what I'm talking about but it annoys me. This is amazing!!!
Very smooth and funky. Lovely voice. Tight pocket. I dropped in to see how much this song could be butchered but, ended up with my mind blown. Excellent work, people.
wow, that was incredible! Didn't think I'd ever encounter a cover I'd like even better than the one of Angelina Jordan, but this is it... India is marvellous, and the arrangement fire! Well done guys! Peace and love from Bavaria on this easter Sunday...
I absolutely love your band! My favorite songs thus far are India Carney's rendition of "Creep" (you guys were jammin' by the way) and Laura Mace's "I feel it comin'" - I have a personal request for India to sing "How Can I Ease the Pain" by Lisa Fisher. I know India is an alto and some of the notes sung in the song are more in the soprano range, but I would absolutely love to see how she would make that song her own. Thank you for your great music and regular posts. I am a fan! I would also love to hear Laura sing, "Tell me something good" by Chaka Khan.
I was 10 when I heard this song, didn't know what the song was about but I loved it. Very young and listening to music all the time and lyrics especially. Most songs in my day were about love between man and woman. Where have all these love songs gone? especially
Such a inspirational video for me as a musician. There is covers of this song with better quality video, sound and everything, but no one of them don't have this much soul. So far the best cover i've heard lately...
Holly shit this girl has it ...wow ..just watched her sing bridge over troubled water ..the band is tight ....just found these guys ..am glad I did ...simply amazing. .
Very cool as always!!! Funk cover with a best quality! I think it would be great, if you make a Killing me Softly funk cover together with India Carney!!! Her voice suits best for this song.
I am 73 and have never heard a "funk" version of this song. I like it a lot and she sings it so well
Why do people click on a video that says "Beatles" & "Funk Cover" & then complain that the song deviated from the original? If you're a purist who thinks the song can't be topped, then why bother coming HERE? CLEARLY this channel's for people who think otherwise, & IMHO did a fine job with a wonderful vocal performance, & tight rhythm section
Because people respond and they have such pathetic lives that they get a kick out of people responding.
And the Beatles were overrated anyway.
We like mustard
We like strawberry
But not from the same bowl
Injecting funk into a slow tempo song just doesnt cut
I can't understand why either. I do prefer the original but I've listened to it a million times. Yesterday might even be my favorite beatles song. It's refreshing to me to hear it presented in a different style. Especially when they did such a good job like this one
excelente comentario !!!

I listen to them at least six days out of seven. I am OBSESSED with their life-giving funk and their roster of crazily talented musicians.
So it is
my humble cover :) ruclips.net/video/yUWIwM2yLrs/видео.html

Can't wait for the next album :-)
She's my favorite singer of the group, what an amazing voice!!!
100% agree!
She's very good, sometimes guilty of doing too much with her voice though
Brilliant
But too much vocal gymnastics for my personal taste..
She's enjoying this moment and that shows 100% in her exuberance.
She is very very talented.
But could hold back a tad.

When breath becomes another instrument, simplicity is the only way. I love how modern technology allows the listener to hear so much from the live room. Excellent mix.
Ultimate integration: the voice becomes part of the band.

love the simple sweet bass line jack, and the song makes makes her voice sparkle like a diamond in just the right light
Am just only singing for 3 years now....and I am so in love with india...now I know that is so tough to do what she do.....LOVE YOU GIRL...YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION!!

Totally agree. I’m a musician and singer myself. I am blown away by her voice. She has an incredible range of control over many areas of her dynamics. Just all around awesome technique and of course a beautiful soul. ❤️
She was robbed when she went on The Voice!

Such a simple and beautiful arrangement! So careful yet carefree! India's voice. Damn
obviously everybody will ask about Wilkes (including myself), but this version is soft and smoothly well arranged. and what could we say about India Carney? every single phrase that she sings sounds perfect. you guys always nail it! congrats from São Paulo, Brazil!
THIS IS SO GOOD! HER VOICE MAKES ALL SONGS SOUND SO BEAUTIFUL*. *
This is Scary Pockets at their best: they make a scary musical pocket, so much luscious space in the mix. Love the bass. So simple, restrained, and strong. Git and drums are fab. India, beautiful. Soooo good.
Glorious in all respects as usual. Ryan is so good you barely notice, but every last note counts!
And I meant to add: good choice of bass guitar too! :-)
That voice is heavenly, i can ear it for hours and hours ✨💫
Every now and then this one pops up in my stream. And then I watch it a few times. Because it is such a sweet cover. ❤
Beautiful....sister has some serious pipes. Bravo and cheers. Her cover of Creep is brilliant as well.
i 've heard somewhere in youtube whitney houston saying that it was her most favorite song! so it's cool to have a hint of it in the way of india carney sing it! wonderful!
India Carney is so amazing! Her talent blows me away

Patrick Hunter simple ?😑
WOW, PIANO GUY PLAYS THE BASS TOO! HE IS ALWAYS SMILING ♥
One of the greatest covers I've ever heard next to the original by The Beatles ❤
Oh man...funky but also, I'm tearing up. Really makes this song's sadness come out.
The simpler the merrier

Don't speak or I'll just a girl by no doubt could really use your gifts.
This is wonderful, thank you so much! I would really love to see a cover of a Billy Joel song.
If Sammy Davis Jr. could tap dance over piano keys, he wouldn't glide through notes as smoothly as this woman can.
And Sammy was a Magician!
India is LIFE! 🤎🤎🤎
Her voice!
Hands down my favorite female vocalist 😍
This is terrific! The intro with bass n drums. The guitar sounding perfect and whatta voice!!
She absolutely slayed the vocal on this...
Awesome groove. Got to give it up for the drummer's sense of restraint.
Great voice!
Great Song+ Great Band+ Great Singer= One Amazing Cover. I love this!
Nice playing Jack, many people may be crying out for more Wilkes (and I can't blame them) but this really suits a stripped down cover like this.
Second video of you guys. Once again, the singer is soulful and unique in her owm way. Good music ya'll.
Thank you for covering this. I feel this song so much at this point in my life. Awesome to just be able to breath and find rest in the song and the cover. Thank you.
I love this one great job guys
Result of good musicians playing good music... with a good equipment. Nice af
Her voice is amazing. She doesn't have that weird accent thing that people have when people sing... I can't explain what I'm talking about but it annoys me. This is amazing!!!
Curious- would that weird accent thing be a southern accent? Bothers me too, whatever it is! But not this singer, a wonderful voice and clear style.
Very smooth and funky. Lovely voice. Tight pocket. I dropped in to see how much this song could be butchered but, ended up with my mind blown. Excellent work, people.
I love, love, love, her vibrato
Love the head shaped binaural mic looking over the drummers shoulder.
OMG. I'm from Argentina, I saw this amazing funk band and I Sent the videos to my father... And he became in your fan too!
wow, that was incredible! Didn't think I'd ever encounter a cover I'd like even better than the one of Angelina Jordan, but this is it... India is marvellous, and the arrangement fire! Well done guys! Peace and love from Bavaria on this easter Sunday...

I felt that one clear down to my acorns. Well done. Sir Paul would be proud.
This is really nice, but I think Jack needs to work on his head nod's if he is going to play bass (well it works for Sam!)
driven to tears by this beautiful cover
gives the song a whole new perspective, I love it!
I'm in love with her voice. I like the twist of the song too. Depends on the interpreter.
I love it!!! Oooohhh she's so breathy and funky, soulful.
Holly shit this girl has it ...wow ..just watched her sing bridge over troubled water ..the band is tight ....just found these guys ..am glad I did ...simply amazing. .
