#tesla #modely #fsd - Авто/Мото
Man, they both missed the scooter doing a wheelie through the intersection at 12:45 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Totally normal in NYC. See it all the time. 😂
That was fast!
just another day in NYC 🤣
When you see what happened in SF with Cruise, you realize Tesla has to be super cautious around humans, which is the source of much of the braking etc. you see here
I would much rather buy another car for $12k than pay for FSD Beta. I love my Model 3, but I will not participate in this! 😂
I thank heatedly those who risk and participated .. without their help we can’t get FSD.. so if you can afford and have heart to take the stress to train .. I thank you
@@user-pk5ek1uz8o Yeah, if you want to assume risk/liability for beta testing more power to ya.
@@user-pk5ek1uz8oIt’s like training a crosseyed dead horse….
beyond idiotic pricing. Par for the course for Musk.
It won’t be that expensive once it’s dropped to the masses
I watched this again. Note I love TESLA and one day I will get one. That said if you buy fsd. You're a sucker!
Thanks for the video. Not only for the content but also for the great chemistry the two of you have.
New York traffic seems brutal! People walking have no respect for traffic lights
What a great video, fabulous entertainment.
It's a work in progress, will be interesting to see the new teck working in 12.
Thanks guys, fun, fun, fun.
I aged a couple years just watching this video.
I know FSD sucks but Kyle screaming Go Go Go! with a pedestrian crossing is funny.
As a New Yorker, I would say that FSD did a pretty good job. The car is pretty cautious.
FSD is VERY cautious about people. They are definitely a really high focus. Most of the times it stopped were because someone was in the cross walk on the other side. People in cities don't have patients so they always want to just "GO! GO! GO!"(Kyle 2023).
Thank you Kyle, and Dave! Demonstrating that FSD is not quite ready yet. Subjugating yourselves to numerous horn blasts, and several international hand signals for "Your number one!". It's hard work guys! A toast to the Conner boys ladies and gentleman!
Love the tuning forks
This is a real test of FSD beta unlike what other Tesla bros do on RUclips. Clearly it's not even close to being useful in normal cities.
There is nothing normal about driving in NYC. 🤢 This is terrifying; like watching a horror film. I’ll take driving through Atlanta any day over that, or even driving in NoVA…
A normal city would be like Richmond or Detroit or Charlotte or Charleston. NYC is a class unto itself.
yup driving in NYC is way harder than LA or SF
05:16 It did identify the car wanting to pull out. Great job!
There was a bike on the left an the car pulling out at the same time. The car breaking wasn't a bad thing.
Love seeing you together in vids!
Every single comment you made has crossed my mind numerous times as I've driven with FSD on. I rarely use it because it just causes stress where there isn't usually stress. I didn't think of the "speeding up the footage" aspect of others here posting their FSD videos. I literally thought it was almost unique to me. The delays, the jerking steering wheel from left to right and back, the random blinker activations--sometimes in the wrong direction, and random braking just irritate the #$%^ out of me.
Autopilot isn't a panacea either, mostly because of the random braking. My ID.4 performed better in the auto-steering and adaptive cruise control realm. This is one reason I just roll my eyes when I see the Tesla fan-people rave about either FSD or Autopilot.
Out of curiosity, where do you live?
@@sebastianorye2702 Los Angeles area.
@@jbhorner Interesting, i thought that thats where FSD was best?
@@sebastianorye2702 I cannot say where it is or isn't best. For me, however, it's far from optimal. I was picking a friend up from the airport on Thursday. During the drive home, I had to disengage FSD four times during a 25-mile trip. Generally FSD didn't like HOV ramps from one freeway to another. I'd be in the lane to go from one to the other, and FSD would try to switch over three lanes to the standard (non-HOV) ramp. (Despite me having the option set to leverage HOV lanes where possible.) FSD apparently does not like staying in one lane, even though the speed is at what I've set, and there is practically no traffic ahead. (It was Thanksgiving day, after all.) And, I had also set the option to minimize lane changes--which is basically there for eye candy in my opinion; it doesn't seem to minimize anything. And, yes, the phantom breaking. On one stretch I was doing a comfortable 69. There was no traffic directly in front of me or to the side of me. FSD began a rapid descent to under 50 in a matter of a few seconds. I pushed on the accelerator to get back up to 69 again. When I took my foot off the accelerator, it decided that the new 69 is 50. I finally disengaged FSD. The speed limit and my speed were around the 69 desired speed. Some of the other things one gets used to and can proactively manage/predict them. Phantom breaking obviously is not among those things.
@@jbhorner Interesting... Do you have any idea why it messes up? Does it show something on the screen when it's doing a weird move or phantom breaking?
Its probably hard to see without recording the video.
FSD in Brooklyn NY is a very scary proposition.
This was hilarious, thanks for the laughs!
love you two guys, stay safe and healthy
I liked the video as entertainment, I tried 11.3.6 some time ago and it was really fun. But I have to say almost every time you complained of the car not going at an intersection there was people at the crosswalk in the car's path, so I agree it might feel unnatural , but it is erring on the safety side, because imagine if a bad accident happens on FSD. It will stop or delay development enormously. So in order to move forward you need to be extra careful until this is out of beta. I also agree sometimes it messes up, but I think it is wrong for you to expect the car to drive the same way that you drive. Everybody drives differently. It still an amazing technology and I can't wait to see newer versions.
Agree. "I'm not waiting for those people" "I'm not waiting for the red light" are very stupid things to say when making a video about FSD.
Totally agree, they expect way too much for the Beta
I know what you're saying but in NYC you have to be assertive and push your way into the intersection. Those people are usually jaywalking an don't stop until they have to.
thoroughly enjoyed watching you two, you're a hoot, had a smile on my face the whole time (49:50), love you, stay safe
Great video! Would love to see you try it out around Stamford…good mix of busy downtown and a little calmer as you move north.
As Louis Rossman says about his Tesla: “Full Self Heart-attack”.
I can't say I sidagree, but try BMW's if you think this is Bad. Then again, it's not 12k
Haha this was great. As much as I love the structured tests that OOS does, it is fun to watch you guys mess around. I fall somewhere between Kyle and Dave when it comes to how I drive lol.
35:14 Dang Elon, what the heck was that? lol :D
I enjoyed you and Kyle`a interactions more than the FSD.
Thanks for making this video! Great to see how the car works in a busy city neighborhood. How did the car handle potholes/rough patches of the road? Does it avoid them or roll right through?
Straight through
@24:59 there’s a pedestrian crossing as Kyle is yelling at the car to go, then he says “I don’t know why it didn’t go.”
yeah i seen that
I love reading on X where people tell you the drove entirely through Los Angeles.. LOL Now you can see for yourself it cant be done as NY is same.
New York City, especially Brooklyn, is the appropriate place for this testing. The population density and the density of scenarios are a sufficient challenge.
When a drive like this is error free, and free of near misses, FSD could leave beta in my opinion.
I suppose the ONLY reason why Tesla's "Full Self Driving" hasn't been considered FRAUD is because Tesla keeps on calling it a "beta test." To pay $12,000 for "the opportunity to participate in this test" is either some kind of IQ test, or some kind of Ultimate Tesla Fanboy test. Level 5 autonomy takes SO much more work than FSD has been able to do yet, it remains utter nonsense to refer to this as "full self driving." It's not surprising at all to me that RUclips recommended a video titled "The Modern Snake Oil Salesman - Elon Musk" over to the side of this one.
It has to be fraud, I mean Musk stated that this technology would be able to drive a car from a parking lot in new york to one in LA "next year" and that was like 5 years ago. There's no way he wasn't intentionally lying. People invest in the company with real dollars when they hear those claims and make his net worth sky rocket. If that's not fraud I don't understand what is.
How is it fraud if it clearly states that’s it’s in beta and it’s not meant to be truly full self driving
I can just imagine Kyle teaching is daughter or son to drive. Go go go, but dad there's a pedestrian, just go. 😂
I’m here for Dave and Kyle discussing the Master Beta together, like any proud papa does for his son. 😊
Dan O’Down drooling 🤤
Thanks for your videos, showing us, how far away Tesla is from full autonomous driving.
I want to see this with FSD12 beta : ) Great show : )
This is exactly why I would never pay $12K for FSD. I have 3 months of free FSD and it phantom brakes, it hesitates too much, and it pisses people off behind me.
I love my model 3 and I love my Auto Pilot to travel long distances, I fell much less tired after driving 12 hours day for my 2 jobs. On my way to work and on my way back from work I always use Auto Pilot in highways and routes, not into cities and where traffic is crazy, but the Auto Pilot works pretty good with busy traffic and I’m happy.
FSD someday but not today
I don’t use my FSD in San Francisco! All of those videos that show how excellent it is all full of it. It cannot read the little signs that say “NO TURN ON RED” unless there is actually a turn signal devoted to the turn lane. Maybe someday all signs could be read because there are improvements all of the time. It does try to see emergency 🚨 vehicle lights, but only try! It’s 100% my fault if there’s an accident.
it was waiting for the pedestrian at 21:50 , upvoted!!
Very interesting video. I hope you repeat it when FSD12 is out.
Damn! You guys are giving away all the tricks in NYC traffic 😅😅😅
Just shows how difficult it is to emulate the human brain when it comes to multiple split second decisions and logic - would be interesting to get 4 x Teslas at some of those intersections, one on each road and see how long it takes for one of them to decide which has the priority over the other 3……………
Thx for sharing. This is good stuff guys and it shows where they must test fsd. San Francisco is too tame and should be sharpen in NYC.
I live in Manhattan and have FSD .... it is interesting 🤔 every update I 🤔 💭 maybe this is the one... then it does the sixteen yr old driver thing, I disengage, then wait for the next update.
No FSD update will suddenly produce a good city robo-driver, especially in NYC. It's currently way too bad to improve so much. I doubt it will be safe in NYC in a decade.
FSD someday become a norm of auto industry, don't underestimate science
Fsd not worth the money
It seems that the phantom braking actually comes from early anticipation of the action of others, which makes sense, given what might happen in the case of a late reaction.
The best FSD Beta video ever!! Great job capturing reality! Good job guys!
I love your Dad. He is amazing. So cool video. FSD is not full self driving confirmed.
I can see a first time NYC driver being just as hesitant. It takes a certain amount of frustration to throw the caution to the wind needed in the City.
Self driving is just not there yet. I would pay $12,000 to shut it off!
that is life-threatening
I'll wait a few years until the Fed blesses FSD.. That being said, a Tesla will be in my driveway in the near future, but I'm not paying for FSD Beta, until FSD is not in Beta, and really is Full Self Driving. I don't see Musk's 2023 prediction for FSD happening. I have no idea how Musk could have honestly thought that FSD was going to happen in 2020.
Elon is just trying to pump the stocks
I am anxiously awaiting for 90 degree cams for my front fenders ! Bet you know why too !
Nice to see how FSD beta does in one of the most challenging cities in the US. Personally i would only use it on long road trips but autopilot does a good enough job of that. The handful of times I've tried FSD beta it's been absolutely horrendous. As Kyle said, a drunk driver does a better job of driving than fsd does.
I truly don't understand why it is necessary to have FSD, especially in an area like Brooklyn. There are so many variables despite the potential accuracy of the system such as OTHER DRIVERS and pedestrians. Autopilot is fine. I have enhanced AP but I don't use summon or autopark hardly ever. (I bought the car used so it had these features) Summon is nice if you are tightly parked and need to back the car out to open the door. In heavy traffic, AP may tend to hard brake which is a recipe for getting rear-ended because someone behind me may not be paying attention. I therefore use it sparingly in heavy traffic unless it's gridlock which is where it shines.
I agree with your evaluations. My new X came with three months FSD, but of course it wasn't available on Hardware 4 for two months. Tesla kindly extended FSD another three months. Sometimes it works great. Sometimes it scares the devil out of you. I have been on the same version of FSD since they enabled it for Hardware 4, so of course I don't see any improvements. I hope I get another version or two before my free trial is up, because I'm not paying for such an unfinished product. Maybe I will when it improves. I don't think anyone should use FSD right now unless they are fully prepared to be more vigilant than they are when driving themselves.
Have u experienced phantom brakings on your HW4? I was wondering if phantom breaking a HW3 only things.
No phantom braking so far. FSD works perfectly on the highway, but is a bit more quirky on city streets.@@jamesc3704
5:15 Thats interesting, it did actually notice that vehicle. You can see in the display that only this one parked vehicle got highlighted, probably when it noticed the brake lights on, then hard braked when it saw the blinker. Not really desirable behavior there because you have the right of way, not the other car.
By far, NYC's "No Turn On Red" and "Yield to pedestrians when turning right" will be FSD's hardest problem to solve.
it doesn't turn on red
Enjoyed this, but now I miss my dad 🥲
I’ve never used FSD in New York but I drive regularly on FSD in the city of Atlanta. At times you have to press the accelerator to get going but it’s maybe only 10% of the time. This was absolutely ridiculous how many time Kyle had to manually accelerate
I have Enhanced AutoPilot and while I really enjoy it and use it for more situations than it's probably really meant for, I'm way more likely to have to hit the accelerator than the brake (which I guess is technically good...).
new york driveing looks so crazy lol
in the intro kyle is yelling go while the car waits for a pedestrian, 10 points missed by fsd lolololol
Anytime I have FsD enabled I’m more on edge than when I’m driving. I watch WholeMars FSD videos and he’s got to be a paid employee of Elon because he makes you think it’s the best thing.
In my state and many states, it is illegal to turn into a Cross Walk when it is still occupied by a pedestrian at in any point curb to curb. The software must be accounting for that.
And ... 'Everybody is in a big hurry to go nowhere fast'. Wasting fuel, tires, brakes, shocks and causing a lot of unnecessary pollution.,
I would purchase a vehicle with driver's assist self driving for highway driving such as Blue Cruise or Super Cruise rather than get a vehicle with FSD driving software...
Comments that stood out:
1. Tesla should "stop over selling"
Yes! FSD is lots of things. It's impressive. It's annoying. It's right. It's wrong. It's potentially a lethal weapon.
All the tech bros and marketing dbs need to tell the world about FSD's limitations. 2023 M3P owner here. I've used FSD. It works really well in some conditions. Other conditions, it works terrible.
You'd never hear that level of candor from tech bros et al.
2. Tesla's "graphics are impressive"
WGAF. This is part of the problem. Legacy car manufacturers and drivers (tbh) are stuck in this stupid loop of "build it because it looks cool" and "i want something that looks cool".
Tesla at least culturally should be the antithesis of superficiality. Tesla should be building practical, functional tech. Tesla is definitely getting there.
Maybe the superficiality is needed to get FSD adopted. I don't know. As customers, we should demand Tesla stick first to practical applications. If Tesla needs the crappiest graphics paired with the best functional FSD, then so be it. Nobody should give a sh*t if graphics look cool but the tech/FSD doesn't work in reality.
Leave the evangelizing and meta garbage to other tech sh*tshows.
Try with V12 !!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Tesla should be PAYING beta testers, not charging $12k for it. I do think Enhanced Autopilot is helpful.
12:43 😂
Please do this again with v12.. 🙏
How efficient would this be if it was just converted to full EV, or the insight for that matter, I had an 00' 5 spd insight followed by a 16' Chevy Spark EV which was world's faster with 140hp and 327 lb ft of tq and would go 60 to 70 miles on 19 kWH in a converted Daewoo Matiz chassis, I bet the Insight would go 50% further, maybe 70-80% for the XL-1
I know that had a while to go but, the better FSD Beta gets, the more expensive its going to get.
I’m in Raleigh and it works very well even downtown. The main issue I am seeing is when going through a construction zone and if the maps aren’t updated it gets totally confused.
most dangerous video in OOS career 🤪👍
it will always require a himan driver input .....unless they take the entire liability like waymo and cruise ....then u can actually sleep in the back and it will be real fsd
Pretty much all of those crossroads/intersections had people walking across/on the road and you constantly bashed the system for not moving. Its nowhere near perfect but its still in beta and New York will be a hard nut to crack for sure. Its the ultimate refrence for how the system will improve.
I have no idea why someone would spend upwards of 15k on this. Money to burn
Agree. Some people have too much money 😀
Great video. I agree FSD as is works pretty well in small towns and highways. The stack does not do well on roundabouts too busy roads. Dave, next time you are in MA, try Concord rotary and it will an interesting experience.
FSD = Fully Stressful Drive
People are going to want FSD to drive the way they want it to drive. Takes time to learn *how* it drives and to work with it rather than fight against it the whole time. Overall FSD+Human will be the safest outcome and thats a good thing. You now have two active, attentive, drivers instead of one.
Small roads , cars are close , bikes on the road, allot of predestrienst crossing roads. It get overload and freack aout .In Allot of the vidéos FSD is great i think it's because of where you live.
It is 3.05, and your international flight to Europe is at 5pm : ) Man, I would be concerned being at the airport at 3.05 for an international flight to Europe, TSA and everything : )
12:45 - ...is that a SCOOTER riding a wheelie?!?
Do Tesla hear and react to sirens and horns?
No. Hell No! Just give me adaptive cruise control. I can drive safer than this.
Wait til v12 is honking all the time at others because it learns it from others.
Well, it is just as bad in the Little Apple (Manhattan, KS) as it is in the Big Apple.
This is exactly how it's going to be in all major cities, I live in London and I honestly can't see how it will work. The roads and marketing aren't consistent and roads blend in and out of single lanes. how on earth is FSD going to navigate in grid locked traffic. I believe it will work one day but I still believe we are many more years away
First of all NOBODY said the system was completely self driving......YET......so to be in some of the most difficult situations one should EXPECT it to have difficulties.....thanks for sharing, just hope you didn't scare people from getting FSD who would use it in MUCH less demanding situations.....
parking just before a crosswalk is that alowed it seems to me that they are blocking the Free sigth.
The biggest difference between V11 and V12 is V 11 has programedprotocols which failed at the New York City greenlight where pedestrians kept crossing in front of the vehicle and it just froze because it’s not going to push through pedestrians when it has a green. Version 12 uses AI trained on watching videos of how other drivers drive. The problem with 12 will be teaching the Car how to follow the rules when videos of other drivers won’t necessarily follow the rules such as rolling stops at stoplights. Tesla said they have to do this by specifically feeding videos of appropriate behavior to the Car software instead of videos of typical driving
No fsd will ever be ready for NYC
No quema cuhhh
22:30 Don't individual cars learn independently of the "hive mind"? I'd expect FSD Beta to be better the more you use it.
There's no evidence this is how it works. Some people say it is but they are just being superstitious.
38:52 If you take a closer look at the stop signs, you can see that they are placed to the right and left of the turn lane. At least for a human it is pretty obvious that you are only supposed to stop for that sign if you are in the turn lane and not if you are going straight. There is still a long way to go for Tesla with their autopilot.
I did FSDB on a short drive basically where you would take you6 15-year-old to learn to drive, and it didn't do a good job there either.
That was stressful and exhausting to watch. 😖
I have to say The New Yorker drivers has no 1 sec patience
