Please do a video of Colton's first washing of this vehicle. How he gets all those bugs off is going to be most interesting and something all future Cyber Truck owners should see.
I appreciate that Kyle understands vehicle dynamics. This is an advantage that is lost with so many other influencers. He should exploit more of this angle.
Remember Air it Treated like a Fluid it's why a Blunt Head is often more efficient than a Point think ICBM or Bullet. BTW the Cybertruck has a pretty flat area until the bonnet which is a waste they could make it a foot or two longer and shape lower part too slop up the front too be more Aerodynamic, Also I hate the Sloped Bed Sides sure it looks nice but makes it so much harder too side load via heavy Machinery as well as just Reach over and grab stuff out without having to walk around to the back and reach in for what's meant too be a Work Vehicle is Ludicrous! The Cybertruck ended up costing more than Promised was Late and Features Promised are missing or lacking! I like some of the tech like the 800 to 1,200V Technology which means less Wiring and Faster Charging!
@@Only1_Rudeboy Yea, I think they have really stripped the CT to its bones from what it could/should have been. That had that nice instrament cluster like the S/X and then the telescoping tailgate, 500 mile range. The body is its one redeeming quality. I may pick one up when they drop into the 60's in a few years.I just can't justify todays cost for what it is.
We have these for a different car and good quality , but tthe usual mirror function is then only working in 1 mode only, you do not have the possibility to flip the angle during evening and night, when the headlights of the cars are blinding you. The usual dual purpose of display (in our case we use the mirror as a display for the front camera) and mirror is working great, but the night position is missing. Have not seen one that offers both. Therefore those are only sold as aftermarket solutions at least here. Bought in 2023 so we got the most recent tech and not something outdated.
@@crimsondecade7420 What about the drive by wire steering ? The rear wheels turning for better turning radius... ?? The Model X comfort...?? And so many other things ? Sorry, totally disagree with you !
Kyle is the only guy I can remotely stand to listen about Cybertruck news. He unbiased, and not a "complete" fanboy :) I am so tired of hearing all the "alien technology, and bulletproof bullshit"
It's like you can't just have an opinion on the Cybertruck. It either has to be the single greatest thing ever to grace our roads, flawless in every way (you just don't understand if you think it's bad) or it's objectively the worst human invention ever to roll on asphalt and the ugliest sin against design ever to sully our city streets.
@@MaskedMammal exactly! And to be really honest John from Tesla owners of Silicon Valley has completely turned me off to it with his constant bombardment of repetitive postings. I already ordered an R2 rivian and I am going to very much enjoy that
Kyle, did you try closing the CT frunk two ways - with a quick touch of the button, - and then closing it with a longer holding down of the button? Our Tesla rep showed us that it’s like the Model X FWD. Both the CT and the X will come down forcefully with a long button press, like the X needs to do if the wind is strong. The rep shut the frunk with a short button push, then quickly put his hand in the gap - and the frunk lid touched his hand without hurting it. Should have gotten a video.
Mileage at 80-85 mph isn’t exactly typical driving to test range claims. Any vehicle with that kind of frontal area is going to have massive drag at those speeds. As for how the stainless steel lasts in the weather, it’s not like there aren’t a ton of sst tanks trucks on the road (milk, propane etc) or tanks at industrial/chemical plants. They don’t worry about bugs.
Mileage has always been calculated as a mix of city / highway driving, averaging at ~55 mph, even for gas cars. Acting like Tesla is lying for using the same standard is silly. Every car should have to list both a mixed + highway (75mph) rating
Higher speeds reduce range for any vehicle. It would make a lot of sense for the EPA to give EVs a city / highway range vs the current single mixed range, but for now it's pretty simple, on Highway trips you'll generally get about 2/3 the predicted range. You'll recharge more often probably at about 40-50% of the range. So a 300 mile range EV will have 200 miles of highway range and you'll generally recharge every 120-150 miles. z On the other hand if you make videos for a living the "OMG my EV is not getting its predicted range!" is viral gold.
Alyssa is spot on. Joe Average isn’t gonna diss the truck to your face. In my circle of truck owners there are few kind words on first and second impression on pics and videos to date.
Thanks for the tour, very interesting and a good job covering the plus and minuses. It's a start, but bad headlights is a no go for me. It's not just night, but stormy weather during the day....
Kyle, I am pretty sure the Cyber truck does not have autopilot because they have to adapt the software for the steering. As you know the steering if far different in the Cyberruck than any other Tesla.
Could also be camera positions. If the cameras are in different places or at different heights, which I would have to assume they are given the different form factor, that will most likely require software changes to support.
A lot of people won't say what they truly feel in person. Most of the people who hate it will simply ignore it so they will not be in the crowd around it.
I love Alyssa's comment about needing a big "social battery" if you want to drive a Cybertruck. I can't agree more...not sure I'm up to it. I'll stick with my Rivian that gets just the right amount of attention.
@@OtterFlash Here in SF Bay Area it’s already played out. The type of people buying them doesn’t help either, kind of older dorky guys who wouldn’t want or have a use for a truck with lots of money to spend on a spectacle. The one most are interested in now are the upcoming Rivians
I love that it's the two of you, having different perspectives is so valuable. For example, she did hear a bunch of people hating on the Cybertruck, and she pointed out why. I don't hate it clearly, I don't believe that it's design is a good engineering decision but if it sells like hotcakes it will be a marketing slamdunk. What we really need is doubling the battery capacity and upgrading the grid, then the gas cars /adventure trucks will be all electric to the future.
At one point it was actually going to be exoskeleton with 3mm thick sheets. The design made sense then. I think the current thickness of 1.8mm SS could be formed into shapes with large enough presses
Our power company here loves EVs. The have a huge amount of extra power that they sell cheap at night and EVs are their answer. No grid upgrade needed!
I was an early preorder for a R1T. I had it now over 1.5 years and 27000 miles and I can tell you that it didn’t let me down one bit. I am an early preorder on Cybertruck too but I can’t get myself to buy it just for the fact that it has drive by wire. I know that it’s safe and everything but I still feel that I am not in control. I sound like a claustrophobic person in a small elevator….I just can’t shake that feeling. My wife owns a 2019 model 3 with lots of misaligned body parts. Paint was not curated enough to the point that I could have my fingerprint etched on the paint permanently. R1T has an elegant fit and finish by comparison to the Cybertruck. That hard shell of stainless on the other hand ……it is something that we all dream of.
I think it’s reasonable to want direct connection on your steering and brakes. People bring up airplanes like that’s a good comparison. Planes are inspected between every flight and have extremely robust scheduled service. People don’t do this with their cars. The other aspect is that the R1T looks better and RJ is a guy I’d rather support than than the other guy.
The missus seems to prefer the Rivian. I think as much as the cold is going to be an issue for these vehicles here in Australia people have to cover their screens with little blankets on hot days to stop em melting! And the rear view mirror looks low key ridiculous! Anyway thanks for your review, nice and honest!
I like your honest reviews. I see something that looks like a problem, when looking at the front of the vehicle there’s what looks like a wide gap on the drivers side “Frunk” lid?
I really appreciate your super long video formats. I really do enjoy hearing your thoughts and expiriences, and you're really skilled at not being boring, and just going straight to the information-rich main points and details.
While I applaud the unique styling of the Cybertruck, I find it less attractive looking each time I see it. But I feel like seeing it in person would be a totally different experience.
33:54 THANK YOU! that is a point i was going to make. Its selection bias. The person that loves the car will come up and say it. the person who doent care will just ignore. the person who mildly dislikes will also not think its worth saying anything. And only people who HATE it will make it known. its like how most people rate an app 1 star or 5 star. Inbetween is less often
Glad you mentioned how important a frunk that you don’t have to lift things in and out of is to the practicality of using it! It’s one of the top reasons I can’t imagine getting rid of my F150 Lightning, even though I really like the Rivian. I use the frunk every day and it’s actually pretty life changing to have a huge, locked storage area that is easily accessible and not visible to potential thieves. I hope Rivian understands this at some point because I won’t buy one unless they do.
The disconnect is because why would someone who hates your car bother coming up to you tell you it sucks? I mean seriously has anyone ever come up to you in any of your other cars to tell you they hate it?
Yes my grandma had an AMC Pacer, and for a lot of people telling her how they thought it was ugly and why would she buy it. She also had people tell her they liked it too.
Most people just want to defend their own purchase and say it's the best around. It makes things worse especially when they are stuck in a 96 month loan @ 9 percent and upside down 50K. They have to convince themselves because they're stuck with their truck for the long haul
Kyle is a hard worker and has done his best to help the community to better understand the reality of living with an EV. He is also, in my opinion, one of the finest examples of why a narcissist should not make informative/expert RUclips content.
Its all good going into mud, sand, snow, bugs, and stuff, but keeping your equiptment clean afterwards is a good means of maintenaince and enabling it to last longer. Not unreasonable. Good to see the software updates are improving the performance gradually.
I see your new side hustle being giving stranded EV a jump to get to the charging station. $$$ ..... Great indepth reviews like this is why I sub'd and rang the bell so I dont miss any videos. I cant wait to get a Hertz Model 3.
Duh. Alyssa is spot-on, as usual. The people who want to come up and talk to you like it and the rest of us just think it's ugly and get on with our lives. So, judging by people who walk up what the general population thinks about the thing is silly.
I find the truck interesting, hence my being here. I'll never own an EV, but I like listen to and see firsthand accounts. Thank you for sharing your experiences with it.
Kyle, of note, the Lightning's Mobile Power Cord is limited to 30A so if you use the included 10-30R to 14-50 adapter and the MPC from the Lightning, you can charge another vehicle up to 7.2kW
It looks better and wider stance than I expected while rolling through a hilly four lane mountain pass. Drivers were rubber necking, including myself, clustering around the Tesla.
It'll be interesting to see in say a couple of years or so, the mods that owners/enthusiasts have worked out to address the shortcomings of the truck. That's where many of the improvements will come from. Enjoyable review.
Yeah I'm not sure about that, I would consider the Model S or the Model 3 the most exciting product of this generation. Maybe exciting isn't the best term, maybe most game changing? If it wasn't for those vehicles Tesla might not be doing as well as it is currently.
With tens of thousands of Rivians on the road and adventuring in the backcountry, let me know how many owners have used their spare tire. I carry tire plugs and small compressor (which you need for off-roading anyway) and then I don't worry about it. I always have extra food and water and survival gear anyway. Because a lot of things can leave the vehicle undriveable besides a flat tire (like two flat tires, if you only have one spare).
It has nothing to do with how often it's used. If you get a tree limb puncture, or air down and loose a bead your tire plugs and small compressor aren't gonna do anything. You have a spare tire, especially on capable vehicles because you don't know what you're gonna run into.
I've been over-landing and off-roading for over 40 years in the in the Rockies, Sierra Madre Occidental, Sierra San Pedro Martir, Sierra Sierra de San Borja, the Cascades, The Pacific Coast Ranges of B.C., Vancouver Island, etc. I know about being self-sufficient, trip planning, navigating, first aid, vehicle maintenance and repair, etc. etc. etc. What I've learned is that with modern tires and tire plugs, knowing how to air down properly without risking de-beading, and driving with awareness, a single flat tire is not the most likely mode of failure. Do you bring 2 or more spare tires? Because you never know when you're going to puncture two of them simultaneously on the same hazard. Do you bring a spare alternator or voltage converter? How about a spare steering arm or tie rod? Because you never know when a broken one might leave you stranded. Do you bring a spare fuel pump? How about a spare battery? The point is, no matter what kind of vehicle you drive, it has multiple modes of failure and it's impossible to bring enough spares for every scenario and a spare tire is particularly egregious due to the size and weight of it and the fact that it only protects against one flat, and then you no longer have a spare. A plug kit can repair multiple flats on the same outing and, by running the tire pressures within their sweet range, and avoiding road hazards, you are very unlikely to have a flat that can't be plugged. In an emergency, most sidewall punctures can even be repaired with creative use of a plug kit. It only needs to get you back to a tire shop or within cellular range. A more useful tool than a spare tire is a satellite phone. We no longer live in the 1950's (or even the 1980's). There are many ways to skin a cat. Don't get hung up on one method. Most people who enter the backcountry in a vehicle are woefully unprepared (and lack of a spare tire is not their biggest concern). @@Waors
Lol. A flat tire is by far the most likely thing to leave you stranded. I'm only 36 years old and I would have been stranded outside of cell phone range countless times without my spare tire. I've never had more than one flat at a time but I've used a spare tire at least 15 times.
@@DamonsTradingLaboratory-pb7tp You're not gonna win with Boomer Bill whose been driving forest roads since WW Nam'. It's cute you mention "avoiding road hazards". Last I checked it's damn hard to do when you're actually off-roading banging off rocks, downed trees and whatever other obstacles are in the way and not on a prepared or maintained road. It's also funny you mention not carrying spare parts; given that I carry spare u-joints, spare studs/lug nuts, tie rods, end links and fluids. Why? Because like Damons mentioned they are things that'll leave you stranded, and when you actually use your vehicle for off-roading things break and it's better to be prepared. What the hell is a satellite phone gonna do when I'm hours or days away from civilization or family/friends.
Honestly get so jealous watching your vids. been watching for a bit now, and I'm in love with the idea of going electric in the future. I was going to be in a position to buy a model y last year but finances had another plan. I want to work my way up into getting a truck. from what I see I like the sierra ev the best so far. i liked the rivian until all of the issues came out with it. I'm hoping these prices go down a bit more, but most likely not going to happen. for now I just get to live vicariously through you. If you had too many of those referral points laying around and wanted to give away a model y/3 my garage would be happy to have it :)
It needs a Baja Kit which includes a spare tire mount in the bed for serious offroad work. Maybe factory bead locks. A modern truck with TPMS and load range E tires driving on road really doesn't need a spare.
Small point (Please correct me if I’m mistaken.) It isn’t drive by wire that you love, it’s the electronic differential control. Drive by wire only means there’s no mechanical connection. But by having it, the vehicle can alter the turning radius.
If I am in the front passenger seat, 1/3 my view is the salt and junk that the single wiper can't reach. This is why almost of vehicles have 2 wipers. To better clean both sides.
Alyssa is correct. Rarely will a person waste your time and theirs just to have the public awkwardness of telling you that what you own is ugly. But plenty of ppl want to see something unique and whether they love it or not, they'll generally give you positive feedback. It's the psychology of ppl to protect themselves from friction.
Completely agree. You got to be a big doosh bag to go out of your way and walk up to a stranger and tell them "Boy your truck is ugly". Most people will just puke inside a bit and move along. In contrast if you love it, it's always easy and nice to give out a compliment. In other words. They have no idea how many people hate the truck because the only people approaching them are the ones that like it. It's unique and new right now. Once it becomes normalized, those positive interactions will stop too. I can appreciate its look but it's definitely not for me. It's easy for me to state that here but I definitely wouldn't walk up to a cybertruck owner in person and tell them that. Unless they are my friend. Then all bets are off and I will laugh profusely every time I see them.
Thanks for the heads-up on those tires for winter use and the dirty back-up camera. With all the winter testing Tesla did, I'm surprised they released the truck without any solution for that rear camera.
Nobody walks up to a couple with a newborn child and tells them their baby is ugly! Just doesn’t happen. People are more polite in person than online or behind your back.
When you have a kid, you don't have control over how they look. It's 100% in your control whether or not you want to buy a hideous rolling triangular refrigerator from a PS2 game from a company owned by an antisemite with the maturity of a 12 year old. Your comparison is a false equivalency.
You underestimate mankind. People ☠️ other people, but you think people won't say something rude. Maybe you have not spent time in a big city (I live in one). I would say it's rare, but believe me, there are people out there who will say that.
My home electric rate is $0.11/kWh. (4,374 miles / 2307 kWh) = 1.895 miles / kWh. 2307 kWh * $0.11/kWh = $253.77. $253.77 / 4,374 miles = $0.058 / mile. 2.66X more efficient than a 20 mpg car at $3.09/gallon.
@@RedBud315 I agree but I'm thinking more like 30K. And battery disposal is going to be a big problem. Elon says "recyclable" like it's a magic word. But just because something is "recyclable" doesn't mean it's free to get rid of. I've taken tractor trailer loads of stuff like broken concrete, bricks, cinder blocks, torn up asphalt, etc to the places where they recycle it and they charge me by the ton to dump it. Lots of plastic is recyclable but they are paying to dump it in landfills, because it isn't profitable to recycle it.
@@RedBud315battery will need to be replaced around 300k-500k and compared to an ICE engine, you’ll also be looking at an engine replacement. not to mention transmission would probably need to be replaced around 200k-300k or even earlier. no car can last forever off of the factory parts. electric or not.
@@sereth1738 There is a transmission shop in my area that has been in business for over 50 years and a rebuild cost my buddy $3500 including removal and install. 10K for a transmission rebuild is a little high. The rebuild kit for my '05 Dodge RAM is only about $600 for parts so there is no way I'd pay 10K. I work at home so I am lucky where I only put about 6K miles on both of my vehicles combined per year total. My 23 year old car has 140K and my 20 year old truck 120K miles and both running like champs. I don't want any new car electric or I.C.E. with all that computer crap to worry about.
The F-150 Lightning we bought came with an adapter to convert the 240v to NEMA-1450. We didn't have to add it as an option, and it wasn't listed as an option, so I think it was just included? And I think that's the right choice, as the outlet choice is based on what is most likely to be plugged into it, and using NEMA-1450 I think is a more niche use case. The adapter can even be helpful as the outlets on these trucks are recessed, and a lot of those 1450 charge cables will not be designed to work with a recessed outlet, meaning you won't be able to plug them in fully. But when using an adapter, having it be recessed is no longer an issue. Orientation could still maybe be an issue though, if the cord comes off the plug in a way where it collides excessively with the bed.
The highest-quality Tesla he has driven -- seems to be saying a lot. The CT and Rivian are both at least good, or very good. Much better than ICE and FF.
If you own something, yes one can sell it anytime but if you buy something with an agreement to not sell for an amount of time, one should honor that agreement.
Rivian will be out of business in less than 2 years so you should buy any spare parts now that you may think you may need. A car company can't lose $40K on every vehicle it makes and stay in business for long.
At about 20 minutes in, Kyle talks about the wireless charger and places to put things. The Cadillac Lyriq has a good wireless charging solution with hvac blowing on the phone and the Lyriq has a “jewelry box” which is essentially a junk drawer.
Talking about Tesla quality specifically, interested to see what you think of the Highland M3. In my mind, easily the most accomplished car Tesla has ever produced. CT is good, maybe 2nd best in terms of day 1 quality issues (we had none), but Highland is another level.
"The dual-motor Tesla Cybertruck Foundation Series achieved an Edmunds-certified result of 334 miles, or 6 miles short of Tesla's 340-mile estimate that's publicly available at the time of publishing. However, that's a 16-mile improvement over the original 318-mile estimate Tesla gave for the Cybertruck Foundation Series on all-terrain tires - a number that is no longer displayed on the company's website." .... From Edmunds
Can’t wait to see my first one in the wild! I received my invite as an early reservation holder to order a Foundation Series. But I think I’m going to wait for regular production variants as I don’t think I can justify the extra $20k, even though it would be so cool to have it sooner!!
Great call!!! Elon will drop the price as soon as delivery positions start to bale on him… Leaving us upside down on another Tesla loan so he can maintain market share

Great review. I have a Rivian and have a beast on order. Now that the CT is 40K more than my Rivian, I guess it makes more sense to keep the Rivian and just wait a few years.
I prefer taking a comfort breaks every few hours and tend not to use diapers on long journeys. How about spending 24 hours in a sealed garage with your Silverados engine running? Do you think you would survive to complain about it? Or would you prefer the CyberTruck? Dang!
@@commuterbranchline8132 , I would guess that in this case, the 'Silverado' referred to in the video is the EV variant, which boasts a range of 400 miles, not a gas or diesel variant. Running it in your garage would be no different than running the CyberTruck, and while I don't know the answer for @steveallwine1443, for myself I would FAR prefer the Silverado or even the Lightning. What I found interesting after hearing how 'large' the CT was is that it looks smaller than the Rivian it is sitting next too, and I consider the Rivian to be relatively 'small' for a truck, comparable to a mid-size like a Ranger / Colorado. If that is the case, and the CT really is that small in comparison, then the efficiency is horrible compared to even the Lightning would be my guess. I suppose we'll be able to find out for sure through the (many) comparisons I am sure will be run between those vehicles.
@@bogess1738 I did not realise the Silverado was an EV. In my Market it’s a combustion vehicle. For me, at least, any EV is an improvement on burning fuel. I feel these Truck Type EVs are just at the beginning of their development and while the Ford and rivian have thier fans the CyberTruck brings several ground breaking developments to the market. Use of the stainless steel construction, steer by wire, 48v low voltage architecture and Ethernet loop will transform the industry. I must now go and research the Silverado EV, thanks for updating my knowledge on this exciting development!
@@commuterbranchline8132 , completely understandable considering how GM is doing the rollout, I'm sure many don't realize that the Silverado and GMC Sierra are in the process of going EV. I also believe that (almost) any EV and 48 volt architecture is a step in the right direction, although the pro's and con's of stainless steel and drive by wire are more debate-able. As far as fandom goes, I'm a fan of no particular company, I base my opinions on the relative merit of the individual product in question. Among the many things that annoy me when reading or viewing reviews in no particular order would be things like : seat stitching, hard plastic use (in places your almost certainly never going to be touching on a regular basis), grille decorations, in other words, when reviewer's spend 90% of the review talking about things that have no meaning instead of things that matter far more, such as range, efficiency, charging times, ride comfort (although that is certainly subjective), and long term reliability (i.e. reviews that last through several years of a product run). I also tend to get annoyed that almost all reviewers give manufacturer's a free pass on data collection, instead focusing on the 'gee wiz, this screen is a bazillion inches long!' stuff. I'd much rather my property didn't make me feel like someone was watching over my shoulder every instant, but I suspect that is a conversation for another time. Be well, and have a great rest of the weekend :)
I like the look of the wheels without the covers. I'd leave them off unless I was on a long trip and they made significant positive impact to the efficiency of the vehicle.
From the perspective of a car design enthusiast, it's hideous. A sustainability proponent, wasteful. A safety steward, brutal. However, the 10 year old kid in me is enamored with it. The fact that it's so incredibly polarizing, in my opinion, makes it an overnight huge success. I love to hate it, yet I hate to love it.
1. It's just different. You are not used to it, because in the last 30 years all cars looked exactly the same. The more you look at it, the more you'll like it, especially in person. It's also subjective, I personally think the Rivian is ugly as hell, but most people seem to like it. 2. It's the most sustainable truck ever. Truck buyers will buy trucks, you can't compare this to a tiny city car. But even then, there's nothing unsustainable in the CT. Not being painted is a huge plus for sustainability. It's also entirely recyclable, and consumes much less power then competitors. And it's still runs on sunshine. Who cares how much sunshine it uses, that thing just keeps coming no matter what, and like 1000x more than we could possibly use. 3. I'm pretty sure it's one of the safest trucks. If not THE safest. Again, you can't compare it to a compact car, it's a truck. For the passengers safety is not an issue, it's tough, won't roll over, and full of active and passive safety features. It even protects you in a firefight. As for pedestrians, the low front and the overall shape is likely to cause less severe injuries than the brick wall that other trucks are. The mass of the car matters little, as even the small ones are over 10x heavier than a human. What matters is how fast the momentum transfer happens. The CT hits an average human below the center of mass, which means the momentum transfer is inefficient, which is a good thing in this case. And it mostly hits your legs, which is generally not lethal. A typical truck will hit you your center of mass, which not just transfers more momentum faster, but also damages vital organs. On top of that, the CT has (will have) the best active safety features, so it's far less likely to hit you in the first place.
Just done the math. If I was driving my Toyota sienta 1500cc for that amount of money you used for charging for the 4358 miles, the cyber truck gives me an extra 2940 miles. Quite a lovely save
It’s definitely not “BS” that there isn’t enough data for CT for run FSD. HW4 lagged HW3 despite being a higher resolution image…still had to re-learn. Data from other cars is not plug and play.
The problem is not data, the problem is getting the steer-by-wire/steering wheel linked up with the position of the wheels. The data goes from the wheel to the wheels but it's not backwards compatible (yet). There's nothing that tells the steering wheel where the wheels are. Your steering wheel could end up straight when the wheels are turned or Vice-versa, or anything inbetween. It's why they haven't enabled autopilot yet as well. They released the CT too early for several of the systems because of money spent and pressure to get it out.
The 240 receptical isn't a problem on my lightning. If I need the receptical that the cybertruck has, i just plug in an adapter. I've used my truck to power my home but never charged another vehicle with it.
I’m 21 minutes in and I can’t believe Tesla hasn’t tested this vehicle to iron out what seems like a few fundamental issues (spare tyre, headlamp and bumper colluding to keep it dirty, wiper washer dispenser and the phone charging facilities). I’m sure there’s going to be other issues, but after nearly five years, couldn’t these have been noticed by other testers employed for the purpose?
👏 preach brother. Honestly WTF how were these issues missed or maybe they know about them but rushed the CT to production because they were way behind schedule. Send it out and fix it later mentality, sigh.
Tesla's 'Condition of Sale' should stand regarding resale. It is legally binding whether you agree with it or not. For $100,000 plus+plus it should have anti-gravity. I wonder what the range is @ 55-mph(?) Oregon's rural speed limit.
Please do a video of Colton's first washing of this vehicle. How he gets all those bugs off is going to be most interesting and something all future Cyber Truck owners should see.

I could not agree more. I’m tired of computer dorks focusing a disproportionate amount of time to touch screens in cars versus how the car drives.

I like some of the tech like the 800 to 1,200V Technology which means less Wiring and Faster Charging!
yeah the ct is sit all around
The rear view mirror should be a display that shows the rear camera when the cover is down and reverts back to a standard mirror when up.
Samsung got the contract to make the rear view mirror display, but Tesla cancelled it because "there is already a big screen"
Exactly
We have these for a different car and good quality , but tthe usual mirror function is then only working in 1 mode only, you do not have the possibility to flip the angle during evening and night, when the headlights of the cars are blinding you.
The usual dual purpose of display (in our case we use the mirror as a display for the front camera) and mirror is working great, but the night position is missing. Have not seen one that offers both. Therefore those are only sold as aftermarket solutions at least here.
Bought in 2023 so we got the most recent tech and not something outdated.

It either has to be the single greatest thing ever to grace our roads, flawless in every way (you just don't understand if you think it's bad) or it's objectively the worst human invention ever to roll on asphalt and the ugliest sin against design ever to sully our city streets.

It is if you drive on highways in parts of the US
Mileage has always been calculated as a mix of city / highway driving, averaging at ~55 mph, even for gas cars. Acting like Tesla is lying for using the same standard is silly. Every car should have to list both a mixed + highway (75mph) rating
Don’t know where you live, but that’s cruising speed on most interstates in the western US.
So a 300 mile range EV will have 200 miles of highway range and you'll generally recharge every 120-150 miles. z
On the other hand if you make videos for a living the "OMG my EV is not getting its predicted range!" is viral gold.
@@JK-mo2ov That's the exception, not the rule.

Kyle, I am pretty sure the Cyber truck does not have autopilot because they have to adapt the software for the steering. As you know the steering if far different in the Cyberruck than any other Tesla.
This seems hard to believe but is an important point you are making if true.
@@gurupurkha Why is it hard for you to believe?
Yeah, you just made me realize he didn’t mention four wheel steering in the whole review - sup with that??
Could also be camera positions. If the cameras are in different places or at different heights, which I would have to assume they are given the different form factor, that will most likely require software changes to support.

@@joecoolioness6399It’s a truck. It has a bed.

I like your real world reviews. Since this is a new vehicle, Tesla should have you at the factory to go over the issues before they become a problem.
I like the longevity software, nobody used this term.
The missus seems to prefer the Rivian. Its so crazy seeing your Rivian in green and thinking its the same white truck you have owned, looks good!
With 15 flat tires in 20 years of driving, you're doing it wrong. No wonder you need a spare. @@DamonsTradingLaboratory-pb7tp

Great review, love the truck and the info, thanks.
That is why pointing and laughing is how I will react when I see this absurdity in public.
In general you just won't say anything or change the subject.
True, but a baby is not a truck. When you compare a truck to a truck, then yeah, people will and have said negative things in public to persons face.

You underestimate mankind. People ☠️ other people, but you think people won't say something rude. Maybe you have not spent time in a big city (I live in one). I would say it's rare, but believe me, there are people out there who will say that.
HAH!!! Social battery! That’s a perfect way to say that. We will be using that phase in out house for a long tome
Don't forget to factor in $10+ K for replacement batteries down the road. Do they have disposal fees like tires when you replace them?
@@RedBud315 I agree but I'm thinking more like 30K. And battery disposal is going to be a big problem. Elon says "recyclable" like it's a magic word. But just because something is "recyclable" doesn't mean it's free to get rid of. I've taken tractor trailer loads of stuff like broken concrete, bricks, cinder blocks, torn up asphalt, etc to the places where they recycle it and they charge me by the ton to dump it.

Need a battery pack with more energy under the chasis, hopefully in a year.
…so the truck can be even heavier? We need an increase in battery efficiency to drive range.

It just proves that they don't expect to sell the CT in any great numbers. 98% of the preorders are cancelled.
Talking about Tesla quality specifically, interested to see what you think of the Highland M3. In my mind, easily the most accomplished car Tesla has ever produced. CT is good, maybe 2nd best in terms of day 1 quality issues (we had none), but Highland is another level.
I much prefer the Rivian R1T. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"The dual-motor Tesla Cybertruck Foundation Series achieved an Edmunds-certified result of 334 miles, or 6 miles short of Tesla's 340-mile estimate that's publicly available at the time of publishing. However, that's a 16-mile improvement over the original 318-mile estimate Tesla gave for the Cybertruck Foundation Series on all-terrain tires - a number that is no longer displayed on the company's website."
.... From Edmunds
‘We drove it at 70-80 mph and it didn’t have the promised range”
I think that called “physics”.
but at least he is bulletproof, nobody buys an EV to safe energy!
11:09 Porsche overheats at record setting racetrack usage, Cybertruck overheats opening the tonneau cover 3 times 🙃👌
Can’t wait to see my first one in the wild!
I received my invite as an early reservation holder to order a Foundation Series. But I think I’m going to wait for regular production variants as I don’t think I can justify the extra $20k, even though it would be so cool to have it sooner!!
Great call!!! Elon will drop the price as soon as delivery positions start to bale on him…
Leaving us upside down on another Tesla loan so he can maintain market share
U will be amazed…it is a sight to see…one flew by me at night it was wild no sound tricking silent at hi speed too. U will feel the future bitch slapping you silly…and luv it. It is seriously able to change your mind and amaze you in a second later. Not ugly at all when you are gawking at it.
Of course some folks are gonna shoot shot at it and some may actually shoot it😛🫣🫢🥹
@@KevinLBerryHope to get my shot together and own or at least lease on?
Great review. I have a Rivian and have a beast on order. Now that the CT is 40K more than my Rivian, I guess it makes more sense to keep the Rivian and just wait a few years.
The Silverado only needed 10 stops to drive across the country?!? And the Cybertruck needed 30 stops!! Dang.
In my
Market it’s a combustion vehicle.
Among the many things that annoy me when reading or viewing reviews in no particular order would be things like :
seat stitching, hard plastic use (in places your almost certainly never going to be touching on a regular basis), grille decorations, in other words, when reviewer's spend 90% of the review talking about things that have no meaning instead of things that matter far more, such as range, efficiency, charging times, ride comfort (although that is certainly subjective), and long term reliability (i.e. reviews that last through several years of a product run).
@@commuterbranchline8132What are U 80 and need to pee every 20 min? The rest of us don’t want to add hours to a road trip fanboy.
I like the look of the wheels without the covers. I'd leave them off unless I was on a long trip and they made significant positive impact to the efficiency of the vehicle.
Novel idea: if your rear camera is dirty, clean it.
I just wipe my rear camera with my thumb whenever I open the boot.
Good stuff
I won't be ordering one for awhile, but I want a CyberSUV with 6-8 seat configuration by changing back 1/2.
A tall passenger would have a dirty windshield to look at.
Good and honest review as usual Kyle.
What would make you not believe this? It's Teslas very MO. Over promise, under deliver, and 5 years late. This shouldn't be shocking in any way.
Tesla's 'Condition of Sale' should stand regarding resale. It is legally binding whether you agree with it or not.
For $100,000 plus+plus it should have anti-gravity.
I wonder what the range is @ 55-mph(?) Oregon's rural speed limit.
“Chomps” is a perfect name! 🥕🥕🥕
I can't wait for the Rivian R2 to come out. I think that'll probably be my next car.
Rivian loses $40K on every vehicle they sell that's not a sustainable business model
