I agree with you are these people all paid by EVcompanies ? Can they they not hold onto a EV for 5 years and give a serious ,indepth long term review . I don't care about one or two year reviews ,5 YEAR review is a real review lots of things happen in 5 years .
Dave, I recently test drove a Lucid Air at the flagship store in Beverly Hills and also noticed the non-smoothness transition from standstill to moving forward. Tesla is definitely a smooth transition. Love your videos, thanks for your informative content.
Isn't that transition the hold function kicking off as you apply the gas/power pedal? That would be similar to the engine idle cutoff feature on new cars.
Looked at the X & we sat in both, 5 & 6 version. (Sat in that actual Ultra RED Plaid in Smithtown showroom!) 2nd row 6 seat configuration is so much more comfortable than 5/7 seat bench. Also we would want white or cream interior. Not paying 80K (before the Federal incentive) and NOT getting the car we want. If Elon moves the needle another 10K, count us in!
If a red 6 or 7 seat option for the X drops below the $80k threshold for the tax credit, it’s going to get real compelling. Especially for those of us, a few years out on Cybertruck.
You’re talking yourself into it Dave but the horn button thing and not having a turn signal stalk don’t seem to me to be great engineering per your original comment. The vehicle seems to be priced appropriately at this time, good luck with your new purchase and by the way the EGMP platform cars also start smoothly from a dead stop.
Get er done, Dave. We are thinking same thing. Except sell the Raptor, get the X. Keep our M Y P. Thanks for the reinforcement. Since you are excited about the move, so am I.
Gotta be careful saying that $7500 tax credit comes off the price of the vehicle. It doesn't, not in any sense. It's a credit that applies to your taxes that you file at the beginning of the year, and if you don't have $7500 worth of tax liability, you don't get the full $7500. You do NOT automatically get a $7500 discount off the price of the vehicle if you buy the $79,995 version. Otherwise, really enjoyed the video. That Ultra Red with the cream 5-seat interior is my dream Model X. Can't believe how far the price has come down, but for me it's still just out of reach.
After test driving both, I went with the Model S long range because of the extra 60 miles in range Remember you will save an extra 1000 dollars for referrals on the S and X. I definitely want with the Ultra red, beautiful color. I went with the S because I wasn't sure about the long-term reliability of the mechanical doors.
@Superman-xr1oh No. I went with the distance and comfort of the 19" tires. The rolling speed is 2.8 to 2.9 seconds in 0 to 60, which is plenty fast for me. The insane mode is definitely stronger than the sport mode on the model 3 performance. Plus, for you to get the full benefit of the plaid, you need to add a 20,000 brake, wheels, and tires package.
Tesla is the best....no brainer if you're looking for an electric car....at least if you travel a lot. If you charge at home and don't have to charge with CCS then any EV is fine and some are even better than Tesla but if you travel then Tesla all the way.
Hi Dave, we got our 2022 Model X back in December, so unfortunately we bought at the worst time in terms of price, but oh well. In our time of ownership which is about 9 months so far, there’s been a lot of good and a lot of bad. For the good, the car drives amazing, is extremely comfortable, good range and will definitely be a talking point if people see you open the falcon doors. Now for the bad. In the 9 months of ownership, we’ve had to have the car serviced a ridiculous amount of times. Most of them have just been squeaks and rattles that have been fixed by Tesla, most by mobile service. We have had 2 issues though which were impactful. The first, is we had to have pinch sensors replaced in the driver side falcon door due to it having an issue where maybe 50% of the time it started failing to close, it would come 90% and then stop thinking there is an obstacle. The 2nd thing which is going to be serviced tomorrow, is we have had issues with the air conditioning going out after the car runs for 10-15 mins or so, depending on how hot it is. Overall, especially with the price now, I would still highly recommend, none of our repairs have cost us anything of course and were all under warranty. Except for the steering wheel retrofit, we did buy that since the yoke was silly, round wheel is a lot better in my opinion.
I’ve been having issues with MY 2023 driver door window would drop back down and I get an obstacle error message. Took to Tesla several times and the issue would recur again days later. How did your window obstacle issue get resolved?
@@watercrest69 I did have that issue but I think it was related to getting the windows tinted but not 100% sure. There are a lot of videos on RUclips on how to recalibrate the windows.
You do a great job with your videos Dave! I am glad you do drive and own many vehicles-saves me the trouble. Your comments and observations are spot on. Keep up the great work. Own a Model Y for 3 1/2 years- great car- lots of road trips. Just turned 65 and want something new for my birthday…yeah nice problem, but this may be my last car purchase. So I have been on the internet nonstop and testing out multiple vehicles. Really did not want another Tesla. I wanted something roomy that would travel smoothly and have decent range. I go on road trips about 6 times a year and have used nothing but Tesla superchargers, which have been without any incident. I am willing to try the other chargers….and definitely another car. So my choice boiled down to a Kia EV9. I could get a fully loaded GT for around $67k. I took it out for a test drive and liked the seats, driving characteristics (no Tesla, but a smoother ride than my Model y). Lots of room and some nice features including V2L and V2H (planned but not yet available). So many RUclips videos describe a lot of good customer satisfaction with the EV9. A lot of buttons and many layers of software would be a challenge, but I am retired and I have some time for a challenge. Kia will apparently be adopting NACs soon, whatever that really means. So I was ready to purchase- I had test driven the EV9, and the week before, the Model X. The Model X design has been around for almost 10 years, but the recent refresh certainly is…refreshing and overall good. Kia is new to EVs but certainly not to cars. EV9 is “first generation”, but Kia has had 10+ years looking at Tesla with all of its failures and successes. So….my wife did not test drive the Model X, and since it is so easy to schedule a demo drive (SO damn easy-all accomplished over the internet-no sales people necessary to meet you at the vehicle. A Tesla rep will contact you however), I scheduled another demo and we went for a drive. We pulled up to the Tesla service station on a Sunday-no one there. My wife said that we would have to come back not realizing everything was ready through the app including a phone # to call if there were any issues. We found the demo car, walked up to it, pushed the door handle and the door popped open. My wife was immediately impressed especially when the door would close with a button. I sat in the driver seat, looked at the layout and view and realized how old the brand new Kia EV9 felt in comparison. Of course the Model X test drive was fabulous- amazing acceleration, driving dynamics, air suspension, etc. I realized instantly that regardless of charging issues, Elon Musk issues, comparable pricing, lack of color choices (my Model Y is gray-the base Model X which qualifies for the Fed tax rebate only come in gray…), etc, etc, the choice was obvious. Not…even…close. So I have ordered another gray Tesla.
My buddy got his wife a standard non-Plaid X just 1 week before the 18% price-reduction and now hes ready to jump off a bridge over the price reduction. Nothing he can do about it.
I love the Model X and with recent price drops, its actually a steal now. All right , not exactly cheap, but with the $7500 tax credit and local and state incentives for many, its a no-brainer and Tesla does have the best, by far, charging network.
That why my family members slowly moving to tesla because of tesla easy and useful charging stations two or 3 family members own model y, my close relative planning for an tesla soon I’m planning for model y or model x so now we all have a party instead of Hondas will be teslas lol
You buy cars like you change your underwear. I can see you not keeping this for long. Maybe 6 months if not less? The Lucid looked gorgeous! I was not very surprised when you sold it! I hope you enjoy your Model X! Have a great day.
Dave, I had a feeling you'd sell your Lucid the same day you got it. Anyone accustomed to Tesla's charging network and intuitive infotainment system can't part with it. If Kyle hadn't borrowed your car, you'd have sold it even sooner.
OK, who had Sept 19 in the "When Will Dave Sell His Lucid" pool? Will Dave get the Model X? With all the Tesla shilling Dave does on his channel, Tesla should just give him an X as a thank you...
I ordered my Model X when they dropped the price the same day… $79,990 in the Ultra Red with the 5 seat version with Black interior too keep the price under $80,000. Got $1000 off from the loyalty which they changed to the $500 and the 3 months of FSD. Can’t wait for it to arrive…it weighs over 6000 lbs., so it qualifies for the Section 179 if you own a business as well.
You said so many positive things, i think you are sold! I do have to say, however, that my recent test drive in a similar new Model X was very disappointing. At highway speeds there was a lot of wind and road noise, seemed like as much as in my old (2015) Model S. The ride was not as smooth as i had expected. In fact, it was quite unpleasant over bumps, very disappointing. Looking at other reports on TMC, I see that many other people, including new owners, are equally disappointed with the noise and the ride. I really wanted to like it, but it seemed little if any better in comfort than the Model Y, which is too rough-riding for my taste. Your title says why you sold the Lucid. i was startled to read that after watching a recent video where you praised the Lucid said how much you Loved it and how well the company has treated you. But knowing how often you change cars, i was not really too surprised. Have fun shopping (I know you will(, and good luck with whatever you get -- I see a red X in your future!
Dave, the State of Connecticut is loving you. I would await the CyberTruck. You loved the Ford Lightning and loved the big sized. I really see you as a fully fledged Tesla guy so why not buy someone's preorder. I am among the first 1000 and look forward to mine in February 2024. You should wait or rent one lol if you can't help yourself. I am sure you will get one but I thank you for continuing to keep our Connecticut taxes low lol.. Your doing a good job with the more than 10K you have spent in taxes and fees this year on registering all of these purchases you have bought and sold this year.
Hey Dave, I enjoyed the video and I wanted to say two things first, I know you said a few videos ago I don’t remember exactly when about Lindenhurst. I grew up in Lindenhurst I lived south of Montauk Highway on linten Ave. Second The reason I’m bringing that up now is because I watching this video I see that you went to the Tesla showroom located in St James. I just happen to live just across the street just south of 347 with all the construction and I see you driving down Browns Road which I frequent a lot. Just wanted to say hi and welcome back to Long Island. I have visited that Tesla showroom a couple of times I don’t currently own an electric car but I’ll definitely look into a Tesla when I’m ready. Lucid was nice but too expensive. thank you for your informative videos!
Just bought an X with standard wheel. So far, cars is flawless. One point however is that for me at 5’ 10 ish the wheel top pretty much covers of the “apply slight turning movement” autopilot/fsd advisory warning in the driver display. Yoke would uncover this completely. This came as a surprise I would not have expected.
Just don’t let anyone hang or jump on the wings 🪽 and you’ll be fine. I drive for Ride-share services and have opened and closed Falcon wings thousands of times. They’re pretty reliable, but definitely a failure point if compromised. Haven’t had any problems with mine yet though.
I bought the model y Austin built and it is outstanding. Best vehicle I’ve owned by a long shot. My only gripe is the stupid windshield washer….it sucks pretty bad.
Dave, now you’ve got me interested in trading blue model S for a red model X. If Porsche had NACS for Tesla DC fast charging, I think you would buy a Taycan.
Get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ultra-Red with Ivory is really nice man! Black seats are just awfully bad! They heat up like stove plates and shows any little spot of dirt. No, go for the ivory. But what a car that is? Just bloody nice!!
Would suggest you drive the Model S now- also a much better car than the early VIN versions. Bought a Plaid again 3 months ago and is much improved over the August 2021 production model I had.
If you would have moved to NJ since I have known you, which is just 2 years ago. You could have bought the Model X with the sales tax you would have saved. Connecticut should name a Rest Stop after you.
We also bought the 2016 60D. We did unlock the top of the pack. Tempted by the new pricing, range, and charging speed, but we also don't drive often and like having no car payments.
I have a Model 3 and took a Model X test drive. The road noise and lack of sound deadening is unacceptable for a 80K vehicle. The lack of front bumper camera and 360d camera is another
Not a fan of those yoke steering wheels 🤷♂️🤦♂️. Also, that big windshield makes little sense to me and others I’ve seen who have reviewed this car. If you put up the sun visor, there’s still sun coming in above it!! lol. What’s the point of a windshield that large? 🤷♂️
I test drove a MXLR a couple of weeks ago just for the heck of it, and while it is certainly a nice car, I'm really not sure I'd take it over my MYP. Before anyone says I'm nuts, part of the reason could be due to the particular test car I drove. It had a lot more vibrations coming through the steering wheel compared to my MY. It also had some rattles coming from the back despite only having a couple hundred miles on it. The weather striping toward the front of the front doors were both off and kind of dangling on both front doors, which was odd. I noticed this because I saw a piece of it poking out when the door was closed. Some other reason I might take the MYP over this are that the car is quite a bit bigger so felt less nimble, and while I think the falcon wing doors are cool, I also think it would get old fairly quickly and when closed it's not the greatest from a passenger perspective, having less head room and no door pocket. Now, the new price is REALLY good, and there's no question it has a lot more luxury features over the MY, so it certainly have a lot going for it. If Dave goes ahead with buying the MXLR, he'd certainly be driving something that's really nice.
@@laloajuria4678 Who said that if you can't pay cash you can't afford it. That's the Poorman mentality. It sounds better if you can get one of your passive incomes to pay for it. That's how you do it
I could never get rid of my Ioniq 5 because of unreliable chargers and switch to a Tesla because here in western Oklahoma where I live, there is only ONE Tesla Supercharger location, while there are 9 CCD DC Fast Charging locations in the same area of the state. Also, the Supercharger site is 50 miles away. There are only 5 Supercharger sites in the entire state of Oklahoma, all located on I-40 and I-35, none on I-44, none at all on US or State highways anywhere in the state. So, unless you are an Interstate-only driver, there is no reason to get a Tesla if you live elsewhere. Tesla has not announced any new Supercharger sites in the state in the next few years, so nothing will change.
X marks the spot. Except you have a Bailey, not a Spot. The X just has too many things that can go wrong for my taste. I Love my 2023 Y LR, and expect to drive it forever -- the Y's simplicity, compared to the X's wins for me, even were the X and Y about the same price. BUT, I can't say that the X doesn't have a lot of things going for it, and since you seem to always be trading in for new cars or else loaning your cars to your progeny, I think it sounds like the absolute right car for you. Go for it, Dave!
Make sure to get the rear camber arms on your model X otherwise the tires will wear out much much much too fast. I put them on my model X and it really made a big difference.
So glad you are looking at an X. I got mine in July and really love it. I got a great deal on the price I paid then, so I am not bummed out about the super great price of the car now. You pointed out all the features that make the X such a comfortable ride. One perk I got was three year of free supercharging,. The car charges really fast, so it is perfect on road trips. I am nearing the end of my free FSD, and am glad I got to test it. I will wait for FSD for Hardware 4 to catch up with FSD for Hardware 3 before I try it again. I hope you buy the car. Bailey will love the falcon doors for her back seat ride.
Why is no one mentioning how bad the vision sensors are? Took delivery of my model x and as soon as I took it home, told me to stop with 2+ feet in my garage. Took to service and now doesn’t tell me to stop 10 inches away. Now they are telling me it’s a software issue and nothing can be done. And the door only opening a few inches is super annoying. 91k otd and these issues is absurd. My model s with ultra sonic sensors is soooo easy to park.
Dave, I saw an ultra red Model X on the street here in Atlanta. It looks great! I have a 2023 Y which I love, but Tesla is offering me $40,400 for a trade in. I will do the deal if I sell it privately for $49K.
Well, Once I saw Ford and GM agree with NACS standard, I decided right then and there I would get my first Tesla vehicle, and I now have a model Y LR. There are tons of Tesla Supercharging stations around the US if I just look at the NAV window on my display and bring up charging stations. I do most my charging at home, but I feel confident the Tesla charging stations will be reliable should I do any trips. End of story. Bye!!!
This is how he justifies the purchases. It's an obsession. The car he's selling is always crap or has issues and the new one doesn't until a few months later where he rinses and repeats.
@@doomsday9973 wow, on the rare occasion I drive a vehicle without it, I hate the experience. Yes, I can use Bluetooth or - gasp - listen to the radio, but I so much prefer my audiobooks or Spotify. But, buying an $80,000 car is not going to happen anytime soon, so the point is moot.
I believe to expand its market share Tesla needs to tap in other market segments like the segment of Chevrolet Bolt EUV touted by Volvo EX30 on one hand, and large practical boxy SUVs like Rivian R1S, which Kia EV9 is tryinng to run by storm. In North America the pickup truck promised a while ago is overdue. Launching of a hot hatch Tesla Model 2 is still on the level of rumors. Most drivers in North America dismiss EVs like a nightmare and vow to stick to ICE as long as they can. If we look into what they drive daily then ideally in a 2 person household we might notice a larger vehicle like a minivan or better a full sized SUV for long trips and 2 more cars for commute which in suburban environment might be small hatchbacks. There is no way Tesla can penetrate those markets if it does not offer competing vehicles. I presume 2 hottest vehicles in those markets will be abovenamed Volvo and Kia EV9. Yet the market of pickup trucks is waiting to get more contestants. For the latter I believe Tesla wants a 800 V architecture to enter in full swing into the market share. For now I am in the camp of people not finding any use of jellybean cars offered by Tesla for now. A hot station wagon offered by NIO if proposed by Tesla might conquer me immediately.
Doesn’t the Lucid have twice the range of that in real world road tripping which would eliminate charging infrastructure issues. That recent Colorado to Connecticut trip was flawless. You traded down.
In the Out of Spec range test the MX LR got 330 miles and the Lucid got 446 miles so def not double the range and total range only matters on the first leg of the trip. Neither of them have outstanding charging curves but Tesla will practically always have available stations working at max speeds while Lucid won't which was proven in that latest "Race to Vegas" where the Model S won both times and the Lucid came in last behind the Taycan which has less range than both MX LR and Lucid GT
The main problem with the Lucid was the Signet surge which affects 800V cars. Ironic that if the Lucid had the vaunted, solves-everything NACS port, it would only have charged at 50KW on the Tesla network. 800V is ahead of the infrastructure. My 400V CCS car has road-tripped for thousands of miles across 8 states with minimal issues. Dave, you’re becoming an all-Tesla channel. Not interested…
there is stuff in the internet about europe having a new model 3 with T in the vin. most think its for a performance version of highland. so i think its coming eventually
Understandable, Dave. Especially since you're always taking roadtrips. DCFC providers have got to up their game. But not such a deal breaker for those who only drive long distance one or two times a year, especially if other automakers pull through with NACS next year.
Seems like this would have been know BEFORE he bought it. His son Kyle does so much content on road tripping. And how bad EA has been lately.. Also.. maybe keep the Lucid.. next year some solution would have been available to use Tesla's charging network. I guess having a lot of money allows you to buy and trade easily enough. Also I think he can get the tax credit multiple times too. Us regular folks don't do this stuff.. My last car I bought for $2K and drove it for 4 years until it quit at 423,000 miles. LOLZ...
I’m probably getting a model x long range or plaid both bit pricey used but I want to upgrade to something roomy and fit more people since I’m coming from a small car this will be worth of the money.
Damn, what happens you crack a windshield? And if the answer is glass insurance coverage, I’d love to know what insurance costs on an X. Pretty high on my M3P. I would consider one for the wife if it didn’t have those stupid falcon wing doors.
The windshield is angled so much that rocks don’t damage it typically. I was hit many times with rocks on my Model X and never had a crack. Maybe the glass is stronger than most too?
I also wonder how much you bake in certain sun conditions with all that glass. I generally keep my sunroof shade closed, so I don’t think I would be too pleased driving around in that glass bubble, but it does look really cool.
@@alanbuck9237 the glass has UV protection (or whatever) so most of the heat is rejected. They do offer a sunshade that snaps in place for the hottest days of you want to sacrifice the view. All Teslas have a glass roof so this is basically the same.
About to crest 1 year of ownership of my 2022 MX. 56,000 miles, 16 states, 1 new set of tires, no issues, and… no speeding tickets 😮💨 Love my Tesla! (name: Shadowfax)
Dave will do it when Mercedes-Benz will be able to be charged at Tesla Superchargers. You see, his love for cars do not expand beyond 6 months. Besides, his dreams will change as well. At that moment his wife Cathy might be the one tipping the scale toward MB since she loved German cars for a while. I never saw his wife name spelled so I beg your pardon, Dave, if I missspelled it. His quest for a very long trip EV will continue until he is satisfied.
My model 3 is not bad to insure. I did switch companies because American Family was way too high. Shop around. Obviously an 80K car that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds is probably not going to be cheap no matter what.
By buying new cars and selling them, Dave is driving new cars all the time. It is amazing how Tesla with 4 cars unchanged for years still conquer the market share. I believe Dave keeps for very short time cars and put too many miles on them thus he cannot lease but has to buy. The joy of cars for him is not only while driving but also while shopping for them.
Don't know what's up with CCS charger in US, but here in Europe (Norway) that only have been a tiny problem on very remote changers where it takes some time to get repair personnel on site. And mostly only 50kW chargers, only once I experienced a broken 150kW charge. Can this be the government's money to support new chargers ? Obviously the charging network then is interested in putting up new charging sites to get that money and repair then comes second. Since Tesla here also uses CCS open to all cars most places I think at least here in Norway we have way too high charging capacity along the most used roads with only around 22% EVs (the rest diesel/gas)
What do people buy if they don't want a Tesla due to it's leader say or just find the car boring not to their liking particulary in the US mainly thanks to EA due to their lack of reliability in CCS charging?
Why don't 1:06 you and your son go to congress and testify for these chargers to be up and running like they should be. We need someone to do it. They should be penalized if there units are down or run slow.
Just another excuse to buy another car. Can't be taken seriously anymore. But fun to live through someone with more money than sense.

The only thing I hate about plaid is second row doesn’t fold, so annoying😢
If a red 6 or 7 seat option for the X drops below the $80k threshold for the tax credit, it’s going to get real compelling. Especially for those of us, a few years out on Cybertruck.
Charging network - yes. Road noise, comfort, FWD's, phantom braking - no. Been there, done that.
And don’t forget the shuddering and juddering under hard acceleration. And the squeaks and rattles haven’t been eliminated.
Don’t forget terrible auto wipers and now no parking sensors
And those rear doors in small parking spaces and low over hangs. Not much allowance for errors.

I pulled trigger on a Blue X 5 seater 1 month ago. Super happy. I transferred my FSD from my 2018 Model 3. Hallelujah!
After test driving both, I went with the Model S long range because of the extra 60 miles in range
Remember you will save an extra 1000 dollars for referrals on the S and X. I definitely want with the Ultra red, beautiful color. I went with the S because I wasn't sure about the long-term reliability of the mechanical doors.
Those doors have always had me slightly worried. Did you get the Plaid?
@Superman-xr1oh No. I went with the distance and comfort of the 19" tires. The rolling speed is 2.8 to 2.9 seconds in 0 to 60, which is plenty fast for me. The insane mode is definitely stronger than the sport mode on the model 3 performance. Plus, for you to get the full benefit of the plaid, you need to add a 20,000 brake, wheels, and tires package.
SA told me Tesla cut that referral down to $500 on the S & X recently.
@sr-gi3cr your correct. I just noticed that . Also, they reduced points to 10000 instead of 20000
Tesla is the best....no brainer if you're looking for an electric car....at least if you travel a lot. If you charge at home and don't have to charge with CCS then any EV is fine and some are even better than Tesla but if you travel then Tesla all the way.

Overall, especially with the price now, I would still highly recommend, none of our repairs have cost us anything of course and were all under warranty. Except for the steering wheel retrofit, we did buy that since the yoke was silly, round wheel is a lot better in my opinion.
Oof...
13:50, yeah, you don't get that nauseous feeling because you're not a passenger!!! :)
I just purchased my X a few weeks ago for 100 😫 but still no regrets, an amazing car
My buddy got his wife a standard non-Plaid X just 1 week before the 18% price-reduction and now hes ready to jump off a bridge over the price reduction. Nothing he can do about it.
I think Elon should add full self driving to those who had drastic depreciation. Keep customers loyal
Buy it. Deliveries now out to Nov-Dec 2023
Selling like hotcakes!
I find hilarious how something that one pays over 80k for, later it is called as “free”. Yes.. free, as 80k wasn’t enough…
RIP Lucid, Even Dave cannot take it with the charging infrastructure
gotta have illuminated door sills and door handles if tesla can put them. happy shopping
Have you driven an EV6? The breaking and acceleration are smooth. I wish you would say 80k and not 79900. It's silly.
When I see that windshield I see cataracts.
I just don't trust the reliability of the Falcon Wing because of the maintenance issues. I'd stick with the Y or S

You're a high use owner, you can't expect the internet FUD warriors to believe what you say ! 😉
Drove a Plaid X at Charlotte on Sunday… was nauseous for rest of day and I’ve had 4 Performance Tesla before lol. Definitely getting the Ultra Red!
I have a demo ride tomorrow morning after dropping off my model 3 for some wheel touch up and harness recall. Looking forward to it.
The X looks best in red!
Ordered my X last week, the current price - Fed Tax Credit - Colo Tax Credit is $12,500, No brainer! Trading in my Y.
Model X is baller
I bought the model y Austin built and it is outstanding. Best vehicle I’ve owned by a long shot. My only gripe is the stupid windshield washer….it sucks pretty bad.
Dave, now you’ve got me interested in trading blue model S for a red model X. If Porsche had NACS for Tesla DC fast charging, I think you would buy a Taycan.
Even with NACs until SuperChargers put out 800v it's kinda pointless
Get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ultra-Red with Ivory is really nice man! Black seats are just awfully bad! They heat up like stove plates and shows any little spot of dirt. No, go for the ivory.
But what a car that is? Just bloody nice!!
The model X is awesome
Don’t buy a X. Rent or borrow cars and have driving interviews with the people and owners. New American storytellers
Would suggest you drive the Model S now- also a much better car than the early VIN versions. Bought a Plaid again 3 months ago and is much improved over the August 2021 production model I had.
I just bought one a few days ago and would tend to agree, seems way more solidly built than even the 2022 model year
@@RedvinezYGO Nice- let’s hope it stays that way for us.
I was looking at the S but heard about the tire issues getting bald fast
@@mackyc8120 that is only really an issue on the 21 inch wheels

Lol did anyone think he would keep the lucid??
Nope not because of the lucid but because of the CCS network
@@Choob1 that’s never stopped him before
@@Choob1Then why does he keep buying CCS cars? Lmao.
The lack of front bumper camera and 360d camera is another
The state of Connecticut thanks you for your $6,000 in sales tax for the purchase of a Model X, and your continued annual property tax payments.
I just know you bought one. Nice car. When i was at the Tesla showroom i thought the X was the best of the models. You are my favorite boomer.
Dave, you just love to buy new cars. I got to say the windshield alone is worth the price. It is an amazing feature.
If Dave goes ahead with buying the MXLR, he'd certainly be driving something that's really nice.
sweet color choices Dave on the Ultra red and black. Me likey likey too!
I am considering Model S. With this new price is closer to my reach.
Model S is a stellar automobile.
if you cant pay cash, you cant afford it.
@@laloajuria4678I agree. But some people vehemently say otherwise.
Me too. But I might also consider a Highland Model 3 Performance.
What brand?
Ha! He's buying what you wanted him to buy a bunch of videos back!!
Aleays enjoy ur reviews. Good sense of humour.
Bye!!!
Ditto
I ordered at that wonderful price. Currently a model y Owner.
Dave, you’ll go from gushing about the car to complaining about it almost immediately after taking delivery. Mark my words.

I knew you would.sell the lucid, look at the video, with Kathy driving to Florida, 1st trip, and said you would sell it.
Lucid software is slow and it's just an overpriced Oldsmobile
You look a little bit Fred Flintsone ish under the big panorama roof.
Fits you 👌
Why have a model 3 and X? Do you really need 3 Teslas for two people?
Lucid visors are so unbelievably stupid. It was the first thing I noticed getting into a lucid.
Yolk is nuts.
“Yolk” quacks me up!
Hi Dave! If Ford didn't plan on switching to NACS for my Mach-e, I would have honestly trade it in for a model x!
Ultra red rocks
there is stuff in the internet about europe having a new model 3 with T in the vin. most think its for a performance version of highland. so i think its coming eventually
Welcome back to the "family!"
LOLZ...
Wow you seem to change cars as often as I do a deep cleaning of my car! Do you just get a new car every time your car needs a wash?😂
He does it because he needs content for the channel. And since it's most likely a business, he can use the purchase as a tax write off.
@@Superman-xr1ohhis small channel doesn't generate enough income to justify it's purchase.
Really interesting keep them coming
Tesla is offering extra incentives to buy from their stock.

Love the video
I’m probably getting a model x long range or plaid both bit pricey used but I want to upgrade to something roomy and fit more people since I’m coming from a small car this will be worth of the money.
Damn, what happens you crack a windshield? And if the answer is glass insurance coverage, I’d love to know what insurance costs on an X. Pretty high on my M3P. I would consider one for the wife if it didn’t have those stupid falcon wing doors.
Model X is 2 to 3 times more expensive with insurance rate. Compared to the 3/Y.
from what little data i looked at the insurance for the X was 3x the rate of the Y.
Model X is great for RUclipsrs, it's the least reliable Tesla which means you get to make a video every time it breaks down.

U had an X already Dave, buy the EQS! U have your wife’s model Y for road trips. 4 wheel steering! Oh yea!
Ayeee nice! Kyle really loved the Lucid, but nothing beats Tesla man, haha 😄
I want to see the Hood in front of the car. I don’t do that on modell X.
What cold temperature starts to really affect your mileage in an EV?
None dude
Dave can you talk about the cost of insuring a Tesla vs a non EV. HUGE premium driving an EV Tesla. Love to hear your opinion on this topic
I had Durango and sold it recently. Bought MYP. Same premium for me. No increase. Not sure if that’s good comparison.
Depends on where you are and what you drove before. Mine went down after switching to Tesla 🤷♂️
Sorry Carlos, new FUD required.
