Mic Jack immigration from 3rd world countries changes USA’s culture? What are you talking about 😂 do you even know how USA became to be what it is today? 😂
Mic Jack Bobby Brady Ah I see. So both of you are are racist. If you want to talk about logic and history, then Whites simply don’t belong in the USA because it’s not their land. It’s the Native Americans’. Of course, you probably don’t care about all the bloodshed that your people caused because in the end you won, right? I don’t even know where you got that info that 90% of Americans are native Americans because if you had a pair of functioning eyes, you’d see how wrong you are. USA is not a white country (and it never was). I think that’s made perfectly clear when your country has the most diverse population in the world, aside from Singapore. The only difference is that there are racists like you who believe in white supremacy. USA’s economy squarely relies on the influx of those so-called ‘3rd world’ people which you so negatively mention and without them, your economy would actually be even worse than it is. The illegal immigration is wrong and should be corrected. I’m not going to argue with you about that. However, the way that Trump has been going out in deporting illegal immigrants is wrong, inhumane and just as illegal. Although the funny thing about you mentioning illegal immigration is that you’re not worried about USA’s socioeconomics worsening even more because there’s bound to be overpopulation soon and limited housing. No. You’re worried about ‘incompatible cultures’ negatively influencing your ‘unity and security’ when it actually doesn’t. It seems that you don’t know this due to your racism, but majority of the illegal immigrants from 3rd world countries are actually educated and skilled workers. Racism just still exists in USA (which you are so finely proving) so you think that they’re basically uncivilized people. Funny thing too because it’s not Americans who are adapting to the immigrants, but actually the immigrants themselves. They’re the ones who have to adapt to the culture change and assimilate themselves into your country, and yet you’re acting as if the mere sight of them disgusts you. Let me just give you a simple answer of how illogical and stupid your claims are that Islam culture is incompatible with the rest. Ever heard of Singapore? It’s one of the richest countries in the world and boasts a low crime rate, unlike USA. And guess what? Islam is one of the majority religions there, and so is Catholicism. The so-called ‘incompatible cultures’ are able to adapt to each other and stay united despite their differences, because they respect one another and don’t think that 1 race or color is superior to the rest. Something that most Whites are actually struggling with in the US. Cultures do not threaten a country’s unity or security. It’s if there’s no respect towards the other cultures. And be careful, because you two sound awfully like Hitler did and we know what happened. Do you feel dumb now because your racist ass is being called out? USA is filled with many problems, but your white ass insecurity isn’t one of them. Your country has a diverse population. Live with it and just learn to embrace that fact instead of whining that you won’t be able to enjoy your white privileges anymore.
Bobby Brady omg you’re actually hilarious. I really didn’t know that white supremacists like you still exist. You’re the type who would justify white colonizations in Asia, wouldn’t you? Because you believe that ‘whites’ are the superior race and that you deserve everything. How close minded can you get? You’re the reason why USA is a laughing stock. Instead of having pride in your diversity, you’re choosing to oppress POC instead. Clearly you don’t even know your own country’s history because you choose to be blind to facts. You don’t even know Nazism started. Just remember where racism stems from, because it definitely wasn’t POCs that started it.
Her laugh is sooooo darling!!! My heart breaks that you are now gone from this world Olivia! Thank you for all your iconic and spectacular performances! I was young when I watched this Romeo and Juliet but it sparked a love for Shakespeare. Rest in love and light beautiful Olivia🙏🏼💔🕊

A pretty honest interview. She looked at him constantly, so they formed some sort of attachment, which happens with performers all the time. They are both amazingly photogenic. I saw the movie when it was released and they were terrific.
@@dtmt502 Hé never physically abused her. Get your facts straight. She has nothing but nice things to say about Leonard. They still are friends to this day. Their kids even used to spend the summers at each other’s houses.
Olivia's laugh is so endearing, I loved it when she laughed in the movie and then again in the interview; there's a childlike quality to her laugh, so sweet and delightful!! I loved this movie when I saw it as a teen, I remember being so smitten with them both and so heartbroken at the inevitable ending. Such a dynamic pair!
Her laugh was childlike because she was A CHILD. Don't get me wrong, I love the R&J story in spite of hollywood constantly misinterpreting it. This is by far my favorite adaptation. But was I the only one who found the bed scenes cringy considering her age. But thene again I do have a duaghter so maybe my art spec's could be a little biased.
These two actors have good chemistry and no matter how many times they put out a new movie with different actors, Olivia and Leonard will always be the best leads in the Romeo & Juliet movie.
Cinema is the closest thing we have to a time machine. We can look generations back into the past and see people as they were then. Hundreds of years from now these people and many others will still be perfectly preserved for future generations to meet as if they were still with us. What a treasure.
I humbly agree. While I do think the other versions are unique in they're own ways, I believe this version holds the torch for best film adaptation of Shakespeare's play.
But also the movie and everything regarded can't be compared and even reach this level. I mean, we are talking about Franco Zeffirelli. And these two were the perfect pair to represent Romeo and Juliet. Btw he seems a very mature guy for his 17 to and smart, when talks about the difference between being an Actor playing in theatre (which is great) and TV shows and movies and a movie star...good point. He's truly beautiful btw. And she is as well but she seems little silly and with attitude..but she was just 15 so..
10:46 the way they look at each other is quite remarkable. The art and science of chemistry between two humans is astounding. They present beyond mature in this interview, yet so playful.
They look like two mischeivious kids having a laugh - which is what they were. This came up on my front page for some reason but it was a great watch. Different time.
@Bobby Brady Your generalizations are based on what happening on the movie screen, on television, and your limited human observations pre-Internet. The majority of GenXers were not in the public eye at all unless they were celebrities. Normal folk did not have social media, but even without that evidence, no one can say that most young people in GenX carried themselves with grace. Drew Barrymore on Letterman in '95, Tonya Harding out for some blood, Kiss (the band), Cameron Diaz with her "unique" hairstyle in a certain movie- I could go on. Would you say someone like Keira Knightley (a millennial) does not carry herself with grace? How about Emily Blunt (also a millennial)? Saying your generalizations remain valid is just you doubling down on an incorrect and arrogant assumption that all previous generations were blessed with grace, for... what purpose? To make yourself feel better? Millennials/Gen Z are in the comment section in such rapt admiration of these two actors, or cracking jokes (one of the two). All positive vibes, except for the usual Boomer/GenX mutterings of negativity and gatekeeping, for no reason at all. A real shame.

Olivia is absolutely lovely. And Leonard is a Gentleman. A real one. When he took the glass from her and drank, that was meaningful. 15-yr-old Olivia was put on the hot seat by the interviewer, by drawing unnecessay attention to the fact that she was smoking. She also had an alcoholic beverage in her other hand. With viewer attention being on the Young Lady's (minor) vices, Leonard took one of them from Her and partook, thereby taking some of that singularly focused attentiion (heat) off of his Young Lady friend and onto himself. He was also signalling to the interviewer: "Olivia is my Friend. I support Her. Leave Her alone. If you chastise Her, then chastise me as well." RESPECT. That's a Real Man. That is Authentic Masculinity. To any who think I'm reading too much into this: Trust me. I'm not. That's what was going on there. He was raised as a Young Gentleman. Some of us know what that's all about, and recognize that behavior. Again: RESPECT.
@@hayleenicole9326 Understandable. Its called "Chivalry." Sadly, it seems to have been relegated to the dust bin of "Lost Arts." Notice how when Leonard returns the glass to Olivia's hand, he leans toward her face and glares at the interviewer. the chemistry is just beautiful. the way they steal glances at eachother. you feel they really got to know the other. you can not imagine the film without them together, the combination just works.
Brings back memories of myself (17) in 1975 with my 15 year old girlfriend in highschool. To have age appropriate actors portraying the star crossed lovers in the film was incredible. How mature they are for their ages. Beautiful film.
Olivia Hussey is GORGEOUS. Her beauty is breathtaking. She looks so innocent. I wouldn’t even believe that smokes or drinks lol she just looks THAT innocent. And I think if she was born later, she would’ve become BIGGER!
@Jun Lenoir Thing is, people make this big deal about 15 year olds, but are completely fine with sexualizing 17 year olds. There's a 2 year difference, which is such a small gap. 12 year olds are starting to have sex. 8 year olds are dressing like they're 24, and 15 year olds are fooling around with guys older, and parents seem to be letting this happen. And what's the difference between someone on the internet commenting on how "innocent" (which is by no means any reason for you to get upset about) a 15 year old girl looks and having a 15 year old girl make out with an 18-19 year old guy on TV and having people watch that? Society can be so hypocritical sometimes...
Jun Lenoir How dumb can you be? I literally only complimented her beauty. And I’m not a creep or a pedophile, I’m only 20😂and I’m a GIRL and straight🙄And I was only saying her look is perfect for lead roles in movies thats why i said she wouldve become bigger. There are even teenage girls that dress up like prostitutes and don’t look innocent at all despite their age. And there are 25 year olds who look like teenagers and have that innocent look as well. I’m not being a creep. So STFU and stop making assumptions🙄🙄
And they were also secretly...a couple (they admitted later). "Tell me something girl; are you happy in this modern world"?). Oh wait...wrong film. Wrong couple.
You can tell that they really enjoyed each other and, arent really caring much for this interview. They both have that beautiful teenage shyness but, even with drink in hand they maintain their professionalism and respect.
Leonard here might be the most mature, composed and eloquent 17 year old I've ever seen. Is it just a reflection of the era, or was it still unusual in 1967?
He was already a fairly seasoned British stage actor by the time he was immediately cast for the role of Romeo; the English youth were always more articulate back in my day, and adding theater experience just heightened that image.
@@mscott3918 Most likely because teenagers today are actually allowed to be teenagers. They aren’t expected to act like grown men and women at 16 years old. Although I do agree about them sounding less articulate. I think that is a product of social media

Why bothering, they were friends and colleagues, it's not a big deal isn't it? It's not like a stranger's takes your glass or a random friend does it.

Leonard Whiting is 17 but looks matured yet Olivia Hussey is 15 but has childish features.
@Bobby Brady GenX certainly didn't carry themselves like that... Remember that GenX brought us Legally Blonde

If you chastise Her, then chastise me as well."
RESPECT. That's a Real Man. That is Authentic Masculinity. To any who think I'm reading too much into this: Trust me. I'm not. That's what was going on there. He was raised as a Young Gentleman. Some of us know what that's all about, and recognize that behavior.

RIP Olivia Hussey you were a beautiful actress and we will never forget you.
Her face is so strikingly beautiful, Olivia looks borderline alien.......p.s.Leonard looks like Daniel Radcliffe and Zac Efron's lovechild.
Mia Mitten You mean Leonard? Franco Zeffirelli was the director.
right i thought the same so alien coz her beauty is just not quite human. similar to kim taehyung 😗
He also looks a little like jared Leto
@I'mRichAndSkinny borderline alien 😂😂😂
This i was thinking that
The era where "movie star" and "actor" are completely two different things.
I still can't see the difference
His answer was at 7:13
_"Movie stars _*_are_*_ actors, but in jobs I think there's a great difference."_
There's not a difference in skill, there is a difference in employment. He might have suggested there are more opportunities of being an actor than of being cast in a film. It probably has an economic meaning.
@@GloriamMonarchia thanks!
@@erikeriks you're ever so welcome.
@@GloriamMonarchia I noticed you like violin music. You enjoy classical music, I suggest only violin music but I might be wrong. You like Vsauce, Andre Rieu, but you'd also have some Alvaro Soler at any given time. There's a possibility you have some connection with Japan, you speak the language or live there or something? And you really like educational channels. Oh yeah and you also might have the same connection with Germany, you speak German or something. You enjoy Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, but then again you really like classical music. Am I correct, or not?
17 year olds are different these days. He could pass for a 28 year old.
They had proper meals then every morning, every afternoon, every night.
She could pass for eight.
these days we have 17 years old spoiled brat.
Hi plz repent of your sins. Jesus loves you so much and He died on the cross for you so that you may be with the Father and have eternal life w/Him!
I believe Alexander the Great was only like 23 years old when he conquered half of planet Earth
Rest in Peace Olivia.🌹Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. You will be deeply missed.❤️
“Love to thee.. Adieu Adieu.”
They seem so much more grown up compared to kids their age today. They look more mature than people in their 20s.
Stef Sears there are a good amount of kids as engaged and calm and as them, especially when it comes to field that would interest a person.
Stef Sears it’s just like the reporter that assumed ‘there’s not many that smoke at 15’ and she lets him know that’s not the case, don’t assume you know what a whole demographic behaves by looking at tweets and insta comments
Stef Sears - Because they had to grow up. Many deaths from wars had occurred in the previous decades, so the behavior among children had to grow up being use to caring more about life, GOD and the importance of being appreciative every day.
Well if maturity has to do with being well-mannered, then yes.
That's because they have manners. Not bleached wacky hair. No tattoos, piercing. You know. They LOOK adult!!
I was in high school when this film came out. We all wanted to be Olivia Hussey. They were just breathtaking together, one of the best versions of R&J ever made.
In my opinion is THE best version of Romeo and Juliet ever made, not only the great acting and costumes and scenes, but their actual ages. Look at all the middle-aged actors playing the part of teenagers. Ridiculous.
I think it was the best version ever
Not ‘one of the best’! This film is THE best. THE only one.
I saw this as a teen and totally felt both Olivia and Leonard were perfect as Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare would have been so proud because they were very young people in his play, so it was very realistic. A masterpiece.
Jacqueline Boisse , my favorite version.
My favorite version definitely! It was a masterpiece & they both were perfect and perfectly matched in their roles.
RIP MY BEAUTIFUL OLIVIA. I WILL MISS YOU. Lot of tears from Argentina.
Olivia Hussey is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. When I first saw Romeo & Juliet at age 14, I fell in love 😍
Same. I first watched it in english after reading the play in 9th grade. She's absolutely stunning and her daughter India Eisley definitely takes after her mother in charm and looks💕
I just finished watching Romeo and Juliet at school
They have such an innocent stare, and the way that they look at each other. They would have made a wonderful couple, together. That chemistry of theirs's, is truly incredible. True Romeo and Juliet, love that will never forget
They did date for a short period of time thoooooo
@@I4n.Sc0tchyy really?
Yes they dated, and in an article or memoire, I don't recall which one now, she mentioned he also was seeing other girls while they dated. So that's probably why they didn't last too long :( they were both young and immature.
They surely fucked.
@@azavyol why did i just know he cheated. It seems most male actors do and male celebrities in general which makes no sense cz they usually date very beautiful girls/women 😅
OMG.... 50 YEARS AGO!! she is 65 now!
That sucks
68 now actually
Lab444 yeah that’s how time works..
72 now
RIP to Olivia. She was a very good actress despite being so young in this. Leonard Whiting did a film called Frankenstein The True Story that was very good.
They look like 2020 teens cosplaying as 1970s young adults.
1967 isn't the 70s, and they are teens
sgillman16 Can you read? lol What I said has nothing to do with the year this was in.
Nim Boo 🤦
Zach Efron and Bella Hadid.
Add Bow If Girl Zach effron I definitely see! Bella meh maybe if she was 18 lol
It's cool how often she just gives mmm as an answer. Like she doesn't really need to hear herself talk. Refreshing.
Olivia's laugh is so fantastic her little giggle and the loud bellowing laugh, shes so fantastic
Amazing how composed they are at such a young age. The chemistry is between them is dancing with joy, so at ease. Great interview.
10:46 ... God.... as soon as he looks at her his eyes went soft and were full of admiration. What a beautiful look. Love that intimate moment.
Oh, Yes! Good Catch! He absolutely Adores Olivia! Beautiful pair of Human Beings here. They do present themselves as One, whether they mean to, or not. They are a good team.
Good chemistry!
@@eli4397 Yes. I Love this video very much for that precise feature: The Chemistry! That's where the very concept of "Bond" comes from. It's a Chemistry term. Not too romantic at its root, but these two demonstrate a real world application of the concept that ... well ... I think we all get the point.
Good Note!

Love that moment! Love when i get that stare from the guy i like❤
Deep friendship, admiration and so innocent. I love that part of the interview. They have such a true Romeo & Juliet glance filled with innocent young love & adoration. I love her voice & her giggle!
I've only just saw this interview today. I first saw this movie in high school, I think it was my sophomore year nearly 30 years ago, as we were reading Romeo and Juliet in class. I will never forget how it impacted me, I just remembered sobbing during certain scenes. The acting was spectacular. These two ARE Romeo and Juliet to me and always will be. Such a great film. I had no idea how young they were.
Same. We watched it in my English class. My best friend was depressed for weeks, LOL!
100%. read it in HS english lit class, then we watched the movie (VCR). absolutely blew me away. loved them both and the movie. cried as well. LOL truth.
It hit me in my soul too. I was a junior or senior in high school. Lovely lady.
I love at 9:50 how he just casually grabs her drink and neither of them care.
right! and no one is paying attention to that
They were dating at the time. Olivia talks about it in her new book. They are still friends. They appeared in a new film together in 2015 ("Social Suicide").
Troy Davidson whats the book?
I’m totally like that. It’s a hippy thing.
Why bothering, they were friends and colleagues, it's not a big deal isn't it? It's not like a stranger's takes your glass or a random friend does it. I let this do to my sister or two of my closest friends, even when we eat they sometimes take a piece from my plate.. it's like when you're children and share these things, it's brotherly. Having etiquette is important and in this case I don't see a weird thing..he was very mannered in the way he took her glass.
Oh I knew Koreans would come here. Olivia is a big idol in Korea for her ethereal divine beauty. An absolute ideal. Rest in peace, she was a kind person.
Cannot wrap my head around the thought how powerful time is and how fast it goes by... :/
10:45 damn that was a straight up 5 second stare and the way he glanced at her lips and the way he smiled I CANT
• T • RIGHT ITS SO CUTE
You cant what
And then he came back to reality and stuttered his answer after she giggled at him 10:50
James Park I can’t handle the cuteness
Amelia Sommers How was that nasty?
My mom wasn't even born yet when this interview took place.
Same!!!
Lol my mom was just being born. 1967 is her birth year 😂
My mom was born in 1983 lel :p
Wayyy later lmao
My mom was -3
So !! 🤔
Perfect casting for Romeo and Juliet ❤ Thank you , Mr. Franco !
All 1960s interviews can pass as ASMR
lowkey true
YESSS Olivias voice is so asmr
Fucking yes. If I could like your comment 100 times, I would
They will always be my ideal Romeo and Juliet.
How is a fifteen year old girl that beautiful, she was a living goddess
And playing quite a grown up role x
Melissa Wright well Juliet was fourteen
@@oysterhunter276 Yeah I know that x
