- Nearly three years ago, so-called Islamic State fighters swept through northern Iraq, where the country’s oldest ethnic minority were living - the Yazidis.
Many of the men were shot, while the women and children were kidnapped, taken as hostage and raped.
The Victoria Derbyshire programme’s reporter Fiona Lamdin has spent a couple of days with a small group of women who have been resettled in Germany, and are trying to rebuild their lives.

I was raped every time I fall asleep when I was in my childhood it got to the point where I attempted self- harm so bad and I had a fear of sleeping at night I’m traumatized and suffering from severe depression anxiety and ptsd. I’m 19 years old now so I hopefully no one will have to go through this pain.💔

Yes our prophet (pbuh) also married a girl at a young age because it was the norm and he never got hate for that. You are looking at that with the mentality we have in 2017. This breaks my heart, but I don't agree with the way they are teaching these children to cope with their horrors. You can't teach a kid to be happy by telling him to imagine reuniting with his parents when the reporter said the "parents are more than likely dead".
I had a troubling childhood, and the advice I give to people is to wake up and break out of the fake reality that you have. Your parents are dead; either give up or keep fighting? I would say meet reality head on, then develop goals in which he could accomplish and create results. These children could use their unique horrible experiences to combat other children from going through the same thing!
