    6 years since you posted this vid and the Worx unit I bought today is exactly the same. I guess it makes sense to go with what works. Haven't taken it to site yet so we'll see how it performs, but it feels good and solid. I'm hoping the plastic won't become brittle in sub-zero °C temps, but I didn't find anything that mentioned it so that's another "we'll have to see" thing. Good review...Thank you.

    Great review. - many thanks.
    An informative & fair comparison which did help me in deciding which one to go for.
    Now that Ive got the Worx, I really do love it. Its a great piece of kit & very quick & easy to set up & fold up.
    I cant compare the Worx to the Kieter, (the Kieter seems really good as well) but my experience with the Worx is that it is really well designed, well made, & for me it's the perfect weight, striking the ideal balance bewween sturdiness/ strength & ease of use /portability.
    The clamps are pretty strong & fairly wide which is great. (although there is a little play /wobble of the clamps within the guide rails which is mildy annoying)
    To my surpriise, I find the little reccesses in the work top incredibly usefull for holding screws & screwdrive bits etc out of the way. Cant imagine using a workbench without them now.
    Although I feel the Worx is slightly over-priced here in the UK , it is nonetheless a quality product, & I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one if I needed a 2nd work bench

    I got that exact Keter table at Sam’s for $40 I think, minus the clamps. Called Keter and a very nice man sent them to me for free. It has been super handy and I know it’s a proven design because I have the identical table I purchased 15 years earlier under the black and decker name that’s still going strong. I think many companies have used their design and slapped their name on it. That works table looks good though and I may pick one up in the future. I just got some of their sawhorses. Nice 👍🏼 comparison!

      we're getting a 10x14 shed built on our property, and I'm finally getting some room to do some DIY home improvements. I was looking into a portable solution to go with the bench I'm going to make in the shed. i must say the meter looked intriguing but Found other video of the handle breaking off and in your video of the shorter clamps and plastic clamp tracks really helped. I liked the one that you looked at right up until you pinched your fingers (S**of a B****) that looked painful. and I immediately thought. soon as my wife pinches her hand that would be the end of it. Then you said the same thing! LOL. So I think the Worx is the direction I'm going to go. You did this video over a 18 months ago. How is the worx holding up? Do you still think you made the right decision? - thanks kindly., Jeremy

      I'm really happy with the Worx table. I think the 2 big contenders are the Worx and Kreg. If you don't care about weight and only strength - the Kreg is your pick. If you want portability and convenience - Worx is the winner.

    Overall it’s a decent table. If you’re not using it for big heavy projects. Its gets unstable when using my jigsaw and handsaw. Table starts to shake and lifts off the ground. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?Also the folding mechanic works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh when setting up, but I can’t get the table to fold down. It gets stuck 3/4ths on the way down.

    A couple of points about the Keter. I have 3 of them and they are incredibly handy. Once you learn how to fold it up the legs lock into place and do not flop around. Two of my Keter tables have adjustable legs which allow you to raise the height by 2 or 4 inches or even set it up on an unlevel surface with the ability to make the table top level. I agree that the clamps are not the highest quality but they are decent.

    Quick question. I was initially just looking for a vice that would clamp to an existing table and had chosen an Irwin 3" steel Stationary Bench vice. However, it can only fit on a table 2 inches thick. The 2 tables you show look thicker than that. Is that correct? (Or do the clamps provided function well enough as a vice?) Thanks

    I did like your vid brother! I have 1 Pegasus and really like it for stationary work where I’m not moving from 1 site to the next. I’m about to buy a second to increase my sq/in bc I need length a lot of times like the rectangle keter has. But it’s a bitch to move/carry. It has its benefits over others but not by much except... dog holes! Those are so key for a trim carpenter w/ a side hobby of woodworking! I feel it’s a little to expensive though personally. It might not be to a lot of people, but I’m much more comfortable with the keters pricing, especially the keter with adjustable legs! If the keter 2.0 had dog holes & the same ability to interlock tables as the worx it would be my fav! That carrying handle😍 I could prob stack tools on top of the keter bc it’s cold with a flat surface but the Pegasus is awkward for that in my suv making bringing it w/ me unreasonable. My 10packout boxes/miter saw/stand/table saw have all been voted to take the trip vs the Pegasus. He was voted to stay home lol Yes yes get a van... I know 😂 subbed! Keep it up!

    Watched all your videos on folding tables. It was a no brainer for me, I
    bought the Worx. Actually, once I got it, I liked it so much I bought a
    second one, as I like using them as horses. Found them on eBay for
    89.00, and Worx has an outlet on eBay where they sell it for 99.99.
    Just wanted you to know, what sold me on the Worx vs the Keter. It was
    two things you pointed out, really. I did not like on the Keter that
    the legs didn't fold back in completely when collapsing the table. And
    the clamps on the Worx are vastly superior, and longer. Again, a no
    brainer.

    I heard in another review that the WORX table can support 1000lbs in horse configuration.
    Also, which would be recommended for use with a vise (e.g., for a gun bench)? Or would a different bench be recommended?
    It should ideally be pretty steady so as to not throw off a torque wrench. Also looking for something with a relatively small footprint, as you can't easily work a large bench into an apartment.

    Good comparison between the two. I own the Keter and like it a lot, but based on your review, I'll probably get the Worx Pegasus next time I'm looking for one (which may be sooner than later since my roommate borrowed it and cut into it with a circular saw...).

  • @nkdenton62
    @nkdenton62 7 лет назад +5

    I appreciate the reviews. I think he represented Keter well enough. I would find the legs hanging out of the table bottom annoying - Keter could put some capture clips in there to keep them secure for storage but then again you would lose the easy, rapid opening feature so they made a trade off. I think this was the reviewer's final point - horses for courses. I could see having one Keter in my shop for some things need but if I were totally mobile, I see the benefits of the Pegasus.
    I'm really bummed about the pinch hazard on the Kreg bench. I don't mind the thought of more weight - I associate weight with stability which is my main worry about the Pegasus. I work alone a lot and sometimes need to push a sheet of plywood or other bulky material onto a work surface and I just see the Pegasus sliding away from me and having to chase it across the shop floor where I perceive the Kreg would stay put. Wish they would address the pinch issue as he suggested - some form of capture clips. Call it KWS1001 and ship it, dudes...

    • @Kitearmy
      @Kitearmy  7 лет назад

      Great summary denton! I can see your point about the Worx table moving if you slide something along the top. For me portability is a greater concern - so weight is key.

    • @ericbulington2421
      @ericbulington2421 3 года назад

      I have had the Keter for 6 years. I think the leg thing is overstated. If you take 10 seconds, you can slap them all into place with ease. Sometimes they go on their own. He is clearly trying to highlight the Worx and display frustration with the Keter. It is a great table. My biggest complaint is the height. I'm 6'3" and I wish it were taller. Also, the clamps are not as good as an Irwin clamp, but they work just fine once broken in for clamping long boards or sanding. It is SO solid on a garage floor for sanding and assembling, it's better than a lot of heavier wood benches.

    As far as the Keter being able to hold 1000 lbs, that's great and all but nobody is going to put that much weight on a work table. Most likely your picking up whatever your working on with your hands. I know of no one that can pick up 100 lbs with their hands.

    I love how rehearsed you are with the worx... and how you bang the keter around and make you and it look clumsy... The bias is easy to see - (as is mine) I have a keter, the legs snap in and stay snapped, it collapses flat via gravity in one motion.. if you hold it horizontally and press the tabs, it opens super easy - not sure why you were winging it around.... I am sure the worx is fine - but the bias is clear.

    Ditto with Bob Dinkel's comment. I have six Ketter tables and two are the older ones with adjustable legs. The table folds up very easily and the legs lock into place, and don't pop lose like shown on this video. I bought them at Sam's when they were on sale for $39.00 each. Yeah, like five years ago. I did not buy them knowing the weight they hold, but believe me, I am glad I have them because I have placed extremely heavy tool cabinets on top, one of the weighing approximately 400 pounds. You also did not show that you can use the clamps through the larger openings on top of the table. usefull since the Ketter does not have bench dog holes.

      I agree, I bought my KETER with the extendable legs (good for me at 6-4) at BJ's wholesale club for around 40 bucks, I like the fact that it folds up very compact and slides under my work table vertically taking up about 4 inches. It's very solid and I can munt my small ridgid table saw and it wont tip over. I felt the works table was a little wombly. That said I have an old b&d workmate that I can clamp a half sheet of plywood screwed to a 2x4 that is very sturdy also.

    Yes the worx table as some good points. But with the Kreg you can turn it into a full length work bench, yes you have to have two of them. Great if you need a set up on the job site, also at home if you don't have a dedicated work shop. Both appeal to a different worker.

    Andrew, I just watched your review of the Pegasus folding workbench vs. the Kreg folding workbench, and you other review of the Pegasus vs. the Keter folding workbench on 03-18-17. I've reviewed other sites, and media, and I believe you are unbiased. I've seen comments that your reviews are just advertisements for the Workx folding work bench, but after doing a good deal of my own on-line research, I believe that you have used these tools and are giving them all a fair review. You helped me decide which portable work bench to purchase. I won't say which of the three tools I intend to purchase because everyone has different needs from any tool. You give credit where credit is due and point out deficiencies where they exist. Different tools have different qualities and prices. It all depends on the purchaser's intended use. Thank you for accurate assessments. Your new fan, buffalo bill.

    I think your review underestimated the value of the storage shelf beneath the Keter table. Certainly it is not quite as intuitive to open as the Worx table, but once you do it a time or two, it's quite simple. You also didn't discuss the use of the clamps vertically through the large holes in the top of the table. FInally, the Keter, when it's folded up can stand by itself, in either horizontal or vertical orientation without falling over or having to be leaned against or hung on a wall. Anyway, it was good to see some side by side comparisons. Thanks!

      The other inferior spec is the weight support capability but I believe 300 pounds is more than enough for the type if client of this type of workbenches.
