And I am going to walk you through them today! Makeup can be more challenging for more mature skin but that doesn't mean it is not for you! It simply requires a little more care and strategy. I hope you enjoy this one! Thanks for stopping by!

A tip I use when filling in my brows is to not take the tail too far down, rather I draw them more outward to create a lift to the eyes. Eyebrows frame the face so I think it’s important to fill them in, in a flattering manner 🙂

I'm over 60 and the lipliners can stop the lipstick migrating to unwanted areas, but I sometimes don't want the look of liners. When I need an invisible invisible "dam" I use a clear lipliner. The waxiness stops bleeding and you won't see it. You can also use the clear lipliner first and slightly over draw you lip line then go closer in with a colored liner. When you smudge the liner it loses some of its ability to hold the lipstick in place. The backup liner in clear really helps when you get a myriad of lines.😂

I've always loved to do my makeup, and I've been playing with it since my early teens. I'm in my late forties now, so I love videos like this. 😊 Thankfully, I'm growing older gracefully. I've definitely had to adjust my makeup application, techniques, and products I use over the years, and that's definitely important to keep your makeup looking fresh, youthful, and naturally pretty. I only wish I had the make-up collection in my twenties that I have now. I would have had a blast! 🤣🤣🤣

For those of us with hooded eyes, the best tip is to tight line your eyes with powder eyeshadow. Use a flat brush to push the shadow into the base of the lashes before applying mascara. It was revolutionary! Wayne Goss has the best video on it. But Mandy, this video was awesome. Your eyeshadow video was great too! Helped my daughter do her prom eye makeup. Love you!❤

One thing I’ve found to be helpful is to apply (powder) blush after lipstick. Doing that tends to keep it subtle and keeps it from looking too “old lady”. Granted, I am old, but I don’t want to look older.
And a clear lip liner outside of your lip line can keep lip products from feathering.

Thanks for the awesome tips. Difference between bronzer and contour is: contour is a more greyish colour that mimics shadows on your face and creates depth, bronzer adds warmth. Bronzer can be used to contour as it is darker than your skin tone but contour generally doesn’t work to warm up complexion.
Good example of a cream contour: Westman Atelier contour sticks have a beautiful cool tone that looks natural but doesn’t warm up complexion 😊

This is the first video of yours that I've come across and you definitely earned a subscription!! I'm in my early 40s and I used to wear more makeup but I've simplified my makeup routine A LOT in recent years because I feel like overdoing it just exacerbates aging issues (fine lines/sagging/etc.). I was happy to see that most of your tips are ones I already incorporate except I'm CLEARLY overdoing my under eye concealer. :) I love all of your tips! I'm terrible at eye shadow though so I'm looking forward to watching your eye shadow tutorial because something about my eyelid/eye shape makes it super challenging for me to get it right.

I have been trialling using a setting spray on a liner brush then with a eyeshadow color to do my eyeliner. I've had some success with it, then on the new Yucca pallete I noticed they recommend using finger tips or a dampened brush for the metallics and shimmers. So I tried that out dampening the brush with the setting spray and the eyeshadow applied quite nice. I seemed to have more control over where it went versus a finger tip.

Good to see someone who doesn't use fillers on RUclips. More relatable. I've learnt that contour products are cool with a greyish undertone to give the illusion of shadow to help sculpt the cheekbone and placed just under it. Bronzer gives warmth caused by the sun and is used where the sun would naturally hit your face first, the higher points like the top of the cheekbone and top of temples and forehead. They each have a specific function but some bronzers are cooler and may be used as contour.

Love your nail polish color! I will soon be 65. My eyes are older of course, but your eyes are similar in shape to mine, lots of orbital bone area. I like the way you do your shadow and will try to replicate the crease placement. I prefer a natural, neutral eye and it can be difficult to define a crease without getting it too high and too dark. I get in trouble in that space more often than not. Lol. Glad you felt validated when your friend used the W&W eyeliner. Validation is a great feeling!

I do like to use powder, in strategic places, but find that a powder with a little glow is the best as we age. Hourglass ambient powders are the best (IMHO) - I even add this over my Laura Geller powder foundation (which I use when I'm in a hurry!). I also swear by a setting spray (ELF make-up mist is my holy grail), to soften the look of any powder. This is from a life long make-up wearer (now 76!!). My favorite lip liner is in the color "Ghizlan" from Thrive Causemetics - perfect match for my lips and long lasting. I' m a new sub - so enjoy your tips, and loved your cool/warm breakdown!

Bronzer is warm toned like if you had some sun on your face and contour is cool tones like shadows on your face. You can contour with bronzer….but, I wouldn’t recommend bronzing with contour products. Contour products are typically best used to contour ONLY… but bronzer products you can do both with (meaning contour your face AND bronze your face). Another tip that someone with fine lines around their eyes (like me… I’m 55) highlighter… I typically use liquid highlighter only because powder settles into any texture more, and I typically only apply a small amount around the fatty part of my cheeks and stay away from any fine lines so it doesn’t emphasize those dreadful things❤😘
I loved this video… you did an amazing job and that blush color looked amazing on you!! I wish more influencers did more videos like this!! If you don't like too much mascara on lower lashline, try to use a brown mascara. I didn't think it would make a difference but it really looks nice and I have even longer bottom lashes. Not sure what brown mascara you have in the US but I found here in Poland a really natural brown shade, not too warm but it also is not an almost black mascara like most of them are

Beautiful what colour lip liner would you recommend for pairing with a coral lipstick similar to the colour of your sweater? Are your eyes grey or blue?

How does the Hydro Grip Primer work with your sunscreen? With the LRP UVMune400 it's pilling like crazy unfortunately. I use a teaspoon of sunscreen and find any primer to be really hard to layer on top.

Hydration...seriously the most vital thing you have to do and know. But as far as primers ive not found one i like yet...i wish they did wiek how they say they will. They all feel just too thick and end up making me breakout. Super sensitive skin here and ive learned many years ago to stick with what has always worked for me and very very seldomly will i venture out and try anything new. Which sucks cus i do wonder if im missing out on something that would work for me. Ive honestly found that just using a little concealer under my eyes or and on any spots that i have at the moment, then bled it out with a little bit of a light bronzer...and then i curl my eyelashes maybe use a clear moisturizer mascara...thats my usual routine if i do anything at all. I do admit my Grandmother and Mom really helped me out with passing down good skin...sensitive, but good. And i think the sensitive part is really just more because of so much of the crap thats added into makeup products...i do tend to stick with natural products and that seens to help reduce my chances of having any bad reactions. But as far as where to apply thats what i came here to find out. As im watching this though, with the lips, so heres my issue ive ran into...i have like permanent lip liner or something..i have a slightly darker shade all the way around my lips and its sort iof odd, i have naturally big lips so ive acually never really worn much lipsticks or liner so ill apply a little powder over my lips to cover that. Its sort of newer, think i started noticing it about a year ago, and i just turned 40. Idk what to think of it though, ive had compliments but no one believes me that its not a liner i applied. I dont like it cus my lips are already big, which is why ive never used lipstick ever.. i dont want to look any bigger..i know that sounds ridiculous but seriously giant banana lips are just not my thing. Im well aware some girls especially the generation below me seem to think you cant have lips too big...but i disagree. Does anyone else have the darker color lines around lips like a liner, im not tlaking wrinkles or creases.

I heard Laura Geller recommend *not* taking blush below the line of your nose. It’s super lifting to keep it on the cheekbones, not down to the apples.

This! Plus, I keep my blush outside the center of my eyes. Keeps it from settling into larger pores closer to my nose.
