I love this look. Fresh, clean and youthful. It makes you look like you’re in your late 20s. These days, I’m preferring a much more minimalist look with make-up as I think it suits my aging skin. Thank you for posting this, Sam ❤️
That grey(?) eyeliner in your water line made a huge difference, it made your green eyes pop! Love a minimalist make up routine. You look like Linda Evangelista.
Not many tutorials out there that show you how to achieve subtle enhancement of your actual natural features, instead of a "done up" look. I think this look is genius and exactly how I'd like to do my make up!
100% my kind of look. Whenever people say "oh this foundation looks like skin" I usually run for the hills (mac face&body and newer skin tints aside). I actually thought it was going downhill when you did the brows, but the final touch saved it. Same with the mascara tbh. I should have kept faith. Absolutely stunning look. I'll save this video for reference ❤
More tutorials like this. Very useful for someone like myself who is suddenly struggling to get make up to work on an ageing face. Can be very depressing some mornings but this tutorial gives me a hope. It’s a case of having to adapt I guess
I agree, however I have to "fight" crepey eyelids (so no eyeshadow - which she isn't using here, of course. Just saying.), under lid wrinkles, on most days red hot cheeks (perimenopause, thanks a lot!)... you name it. I don't wear no make up at all at home, but if I have to go out, I can't get away with that amount of natural. Oh, I forgot: my eyebrows are almost non-existant by now, so that looks weird if I don't paint quite a few brow hairs on. I still haven't seen a single tutorial that addresses all of these issues, even the older ladies doing videos all have to see near or far, still have full brows, full lips... it is frustrating. When I put some eyeliner on (which I haven given up), I look so funny I almost fall over backwards when I look in the mirror. The only thing that is decent on my face are my lashes (how much longer, I wonder, with all the hormonal stuff going on), but I cannot seem to be able to put mascara on without adding an involuntary eyeliner, as the eyelid skin is sagging towards the lashes so a bit of black always lands on it. Always have to remove it with a qtip. Anyway, it is what it is.
At last an actual minimalist look, without the layers of contour n foundation, which I don’t wear. Thank you so much & love the eyebrow, wingliner tip! X
I learned so much from you and Lisa Eldridge. I don't even own foundation these days - small amounts of concealer in the right places is enough for most people; very few need to cover their whole face. Love the modern, fresh look, and thank you for all the lessons.
LOVE THAT YOU ARE BACK! I learned everything I know about makeup from you and your sisters videos Pixiwoo! So happy you’re back on RUclips and I am still learning and loving your videos!!! ❤
Sam - regarding the sample pencil you use at 12:52 and can't tell us about yet - when you're able to, would you do a "short" revealing the name and colour so we don't miss it? I got SO excited when I saw the effect it gives. I've got green/hazel coloured eyes and the closest thing I've found so far (that does a similar job) is a blonde eyebrow pencil.... but your "sample" crayon looks perfect. Thanks for the brilliant tutorials that you do for us. Big love from Melbourne. x
The mascara trick is genius! I’ve been looking for a good ‘natural’ mascara look for years, just brushing it on the lashes is perfect to achieve a light tint!
I love this look 😍 Enjoyed watching you do this as I've always preferred a natural look. I'm 52 now and with my aging skin its perfect. I'm looking forward to trying your techniques, I've been in a rut with mine, thank you 💙
You are my new favorite beauty RUclipsr. I recently started doing concealer the same way. Just dots over any imperfections. It really makes a subtle difference, but I don't look made up. I'm 60 and have never worn much makeup but am finding I have more strange areas on my face that need cover, including a few veins. I just run a tiny line over them, similar to the dot thing. Thank you!!!
This is what I’ve been waiting for! I’ve seen and tried so many no makeup type tutorials but now I realize the base was always too heavy. Even a thin layer can look like makeup. Thanks so much, can’t wait to try this look.
This is more than enough for me 🫶🏾 I even wear clear mascara.I love makeup, but not so much on me. Plus I live in West Africa, so I hate putting stuff on my skin only for it to melt off. The max I'd do, is wear a bit of concealer and some og bareminerals powder, always a liner never eyeshadow, clear lash and brow gel gloss.Done ✨🫶🏾✨
I clicked on this so fast to learn your method to make blush look so blended and natural and, LOL, it’s your natural coloring. Great for you…not so much for me and my extreme palor. 😹 Thank you for the mascara tip…it’s incredible how quickly that tightened your upper lash! I’m an eye doctor and appreciate achieving that look without placing product in the waterline itself.
Beautiful look, both the first and amped up version! So useful and healthy looking, wearable for every day. This is exactly how I do my make up each day. What’s amazing to me is how differently peoples faces display make up. For some, the end look would look full glam while for others, it would look very minimal. It’s interrelating how faces can absorb makeup and require more to look done up while for others, it takes so little to show. Beautiful! I’ve missed watching your videos!
This natural look is perfect. Any tips for covering slightly dark under eye circles? I am, I think, same age, skin tone and coloring as you. My eyes are a darker blue though. Should I change anything about the last eye look you do, I have never though to use an aquarium color?
I love how you added the touch of green to the inner corner and and lower outer edge. I find that is a easy way to add color to pop eyes and keep the look neutral. All you tricks are great, Using the brow flick to add eye definition is brilliant. Love your tricks and style.
I recently got the Clinique Black Honey Almost lipstick. They had a great sale and I picked up a few things for myself, and got a few gifts. I originally got a small one in a free gift bag and I loved it so much that I got a full size one. I love how it is such a natural "my lips but better" shade and definitely fits into the very subtle makeup look that I love. I do love a subtle eye look too; and have been playing around with slightly cooler tones since as I get older, the shades that looked good on me before seem to be changing. Doing the au naturelle hair thing so my grays are coming in (thank goodness they look like highlights!) but it has made a big difference in my clothes color choices and in my makeup colors. This look is beautiful on you. And a look that I prefer. I just got a taupe (cooler) brown eye shadow quad and haven't used it yet but def will.. You look beautiful as always. 💜
I love this style. I'm not good at it but I want to work at this more and more. I'm the same age as you and this inspires me so much. My face can't 'take' as much makeup as when I was younger and it just looks too heavy these days. Thanks Sam!
Same. I love all those looks that I used to do but they’re not practical or realistic for how I now live my life…and honestly, they just don’t look very good on me now. I genuinely do look better and feel more relaxed in less product but more strategically applied.
Love this look. I’m in my 50’s but very very oily skin and large pores so sadly it’s a face of doublewear for me every day to hide the pores! Would love to be able to explore a natural look.
I think Mac has some lip liners that are close to lip color (subculture; nude). I also really like Jane Iredale’s tinted lip balms. They look very natural with a hint of color.
Absolutely gorgeous 😍. I wish I had an even skin texture like you. I'd be using so much concealer to cover up my sun damage I'd might as well put foundation on🤦🏽♀️
Been watching your videos for a very long time. The amazing thing is that as I am growing in age, I keep watching your videos, and finding just the tips and tricks I need as my skin is changing. And the skin, the texture changing does feel a lot less like a disaster and just something new to go along with. And that's a wonderful feeling. Thank you Sam!
The toned down color of the eyeliner on the waterline looks great. I like to use a medium gray-blue and cool brown-gray tones which don't provide such a strong contrast. Little foundation and almost no mascara anymore, except for heavy eye makeup. I usually wear soft eyeliner and blurred lips too. The inner corner in mint looks wearable at this age, I especially like it in the inner corner accentuated with a clear gloss
I agree with the word 'mature'. I work in a beauty store, and I always cringe when people say they need help with their 'old skin' or need help with 'mature makeup looks'. Might I suggest something along the lines of '40+'. I dunno'. Anyway - thank you for this video! This is exactly the type of makeup look that I am interested in getting into for my time going forward, so this has been super helpful. The eye makeup that you did in particular was stunning, and I love how easy you made it look! I'll be trying this out for myself tomorrow for sure :) Thank you xxx
Will absolutely try this. I find I have a really hard time trying to achieve the minimal makeup look. Somehow partway through I go on autopilot and end up with a face full of makeup. I think it's the little things that once I've done them, ruin it and then I have to keep adding more to make it look right. One of those things is definitely going in with too much concealer around my eyes which I only realize now after seeing you talk about it.
I love ittt! Would definitely wear it. I’m 39 and need to reinvent my base routine (about time…) why did I not think of primers! I never use them. Thank you for this inspiration ❤
Very nice but you have pretty perfect skin to begin with so glowy and youthful but for those of us who can't get away with zero base this just doesn't work. I have some facial scars I need to minimize and I find a bit of concealer and Mac powder foundation does the job but do you have any more tips for me on how to keep it natural using these products or what I can layer on top of them?
Best video yet! At 41 this is EXACTLY the type of makeup I’m wearing/interested in. Want to look like im wearing nothing while also shaving a few years off. I love bold lip/eye too so right on about skin must be undetectable. Current loves: Catrice under eye brightener Elf luminous putty bronzer in vacay mood Struggles: -Covering the patch of age spots on my cheek without leaving a texture on the skin. They’re too big for pinpoint conceal. - can’t figure out how to wear the equivalent of a bold red lip but in a pink. I look best in saturated color and need contrast but bold fuchsia just feels too fake looking.
Just wondering about the longevity of this look? I would love to wear something like this for my wedding. I don't like heavy makeup cause it ages me terribly. This is such a beautiful look, thanks for sharing. Also, your skin is amazing!
Omg yes! Twin flame was so fascinating! You gotta watch the one called 'Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God'. That one left me speechless! Absolutely, speechless!!! 😨
I also love the way that you use brushes to blend out the mascara and the lip liner - so clever, and makes such a difference to the entire look! I love how softening it is.
I really like this kind of makeup, I have to do minimal base and eye if I wear a bright lip, otherwise it’s really aging, (57) I don’t wear foundation much other than Chanel water tint and a bit of the hourglass one which I love, as it’s very sheer, and to be honest I only wear that to cover my freckles as I have a lot. I’ll check out the Nyx mauve liner, I have a couple of the other shades, I have a purple toned natural lip colour too. xx
I love this and it’s so great you’re providing this light, polished alternative and giving us the confidence to wear it and not to feel you have to use a ton of everything. It’s lovely. Fresh, carefree and a bit edgy - or maybe that’s just you! I’m just starting to use Trinny London - all very light and sheer. The under eye tinted product and the bb base are good. Thank you Samantha 🙏
You are absolutely gorgeous, and I love looking at your videos when I want to see a very natural look. I haven't quite figured out how to get a stick shadow onto a brush and smooth it onto my eyelid. I'll be working on that tomorrow morning. I'm so glad I found this video. I'll check out the products that you used in just a moment so I can try to figure this process out. You look lovely. Thank you so much Sam.
This is my kind of makeup. I wish I knew how to do this. You’ve done a fantastic job in making it look so natural. This is what I f think about when people say makeup that enhances your features, the ‘no makeup makeup look’. New subscriber, just because I want to support unit channel, even I never wear makeup. Your vibe and naturalness suits my aesthetic.
Really loved your look at the start of the video! Could you make a video about your prep? Thought you were already rocking the natural look before you actually started to put on products and make up. ❤
I love this look. I'm not great at putting makeup on and sometimes I think it makes me look older, particularly around the eyes so I'm going to try this. Thanks for putting these tutorials online. I really like these RUclips ones that are longer than the Instagram ones.
Great look. Especially like the green on the inner corners and the low-key lip. Good colors if you wear a lot of red during the Festive Season. Happy Christmas, Sam. Keep up the good work!
OK. I have come back to this video for a second look and a try-out with you. I am STUNNED! I've been wearing and doing makeup for over twenty years and honestly get a lot of compliments on my application etc. I usually go for a full face of a foundation product but as I am aging, the settling into the lines bothers me a great deal and they aren't as visible when I'm not wearing anything but I have a lot of discoloration as part of my natural skin, sun spots, and acne scars. This look takes care of all that and leaves me looking fresh and dewy! I skipped the primer step and went for Merit's Persimmon blush on my lids as it is my perfect natural flush and just WOW! More like this please!
You look really minimalistic and delicate! Your eyes makeup is very interesting - natural with little scent of a glittery. I didn't know about this technik of blending and buffing out everything, especially mascara - love it! Thank you, I'll try it.♥
I would love advice for a mature foundation. I also have HORRIFIC eye circles. so, how can I cover those while still looking minimal. As soon as I put on concealer under the eyes, the makeup starts getting piled on everywhere.
Absolutely love this kind of makeup! I always try to keep my base simple, but end up doing too much. And since i hardly wear eyemakeup anymore (at the office that is), i tend to look a bit "undone", but in a bad sense. Do you have any recommendations on how to give hooded eyes that little "something"? Since i need to put the eyeshadow so far up for it to be seen, it almost always looks like makeup and not just a "shadow"... Also i wanna say, that i love the twist with the pop of aqua on the eyes. So simple, yet so effective. These little twerks are the things that separate a proper mua from any makeup influencer, imo, and i am here for it❤ Ps. I do wanna say, that you and i have different definitions of what's "bright"(jumper)😅 (but i do know what you mean and the jumper suits you so much😊)
My eyes are the same so I use bronzer through my non existent crease and then a tiny bit of the blush I’ve used just in the outer part of the upper lid, just near the brow and it makes my face look more uniform. I got the tip from Andreea Ali ❤ she did a video about how to look more awake/busy mums I think
@@tallisinwonderland4724 i do that too 😊 maybe i should add a soft colour on the water line to make it a bit more interesting, if my eyes are not watering 😅
@@mimi_kt that sounds nice if it’s a nice bright colour. I also use a tiny bit of shimmer/shine just on the upper eye lid in the middle by my lash line, I heard a make up artist call it jewellery for the eye and it’s really subtle but adds some life to the eye. I’m struggling with make up in my 50’s. Nothing is looking the same and I put it on and wipe half of it off now 😂😂
Tbh you already have a great skin and beautiful eyes and lips so you don't really need a lot of make up to look good 😊 I appreciate the fact that you didn't use a foundation or an heavy concealer as I'm trying to do a daily makeup very similar to this so this is definitely inspiring for me.
Very very beautiful and classy 👌🏻 I have redish and uneven skin so I'm afraid this would be difficult for me to replicate... but I will try 🤞🏻 Thanks for these great tips 🫶🏻
Gorgeous! I love minimal makeup and I'm always looking for new ways to do it. Thanks for the tip! That Twin Flame documentary was crazy (I agree, stop dragging the story out, just tell it in one part!). I felt bad for the people sucked up in it, because as I learned from the NXIVM documentary, anyone can be sucked into a cult.
Loved the looks - thank you! Now I am older it doesn't take much for me to look over done as my features can't take so much make up. The liner looks fab - can't wait to find out about that 😊
I feel like the super over the top/creative/glam makeup is something very few actually wear on a daily basis. But it allows for more products to be advertised per video so I see why so many youtubers do that most of the time. Personally, I think getting the natural look right in a way that makes your personality shine, accounts for your colouring etc, is more difficult than basically erasing all natural features with super thick base only to draw on some other features on top of it.
Yes I did see that series. I’m telling you, truth and facts are stranger than fiction. You look beautiful no matter what, your complexion is stunning. I don’t know what you do and what you’ve been doing all your life, but you could get away with no make up. Thank you!
I love this look with a very fresh base. I would love to see more people ditch the foundation and certainly would love to see less bronzer used out in the wild! I can’t use those clarins mattifying products they make my skins look terrible but I use a glowy product instead and just concealer around the sides of the nose. As you get older I find less base is key and you need more definition with the eyes so that’s where I spend my time. Lovely look thanks!
Sam I know this is not going to be a groundbreaking comment because a lot of people feel like this. B ut I cannot state enough how happy I am that you are back. I followed you back then and it is so good to have you back in my life sort of. Everything seems to be a little bit more alright when you are here. LIfe is rough and I lost my joy for makeup for a while and you gave it back to me.
Love this! Right up my street. I almost never wear more base than what you've shown here. The use of primers for different purposes instead of powder was really interesting. I probably don't have the budget to get much new but I can see that there's things I already have I could use to mimic this somewhat. The aqua marine accents on the corners of the eyes really complimented your natural eye colour. Lots of good ideas for reference. Thank you! ♥
Girl do you just not age??? I've been watching your youtubes since forever and I swear you look exactly the same. I love this look, so subtle yet polished.
Love this minimalist look. I am not a full glam makeup gal but love makeup all the same. The look is so something I would do on the daily and I love the tips you had for taking it to the next level too♥️ Thanks for the great video Sam♥️♥️
I love the natural look, I’m 75 with sun damage and texture. The pores on my nose are larger and I dislike wearing any foundation because I can not achieve a minimal look which is the most flattering on my older skin. I don’t know how to wear a pore minimizer primer without it looking like makeup. Can you offer suggestions? Thanks so much. So happy I discovered your channel!
love the tips about the mascara and shadow sticks for a natural look! I'm finding less is more at almost 59. i've never used a primer, but maybe I need to start for this look.
Fabulous ! Bravo! For presenting an everyday look 💫. PS. Tiny change for your description, please amend the mattifying primer brand from Clarins to Erborian.
I love this look. Fresh, clean and youthful. It makes you look like you’re in your late 20s. These days, I’m preferring a much more minimalist look with make-up as I think it suits my aging skin. Thank you for posting this, Sam ❤️
Thanks Danielle. X
I'm another one that's finding I can't wear as much makeup as I get older, so I appreciate these types of videos. Thank you, Sam!
I'm so glad! Thank you x
I've cut back because I don't ever want to be thought of as a clown witch.
Same here 💯💯💯
That grey(?) eyeliner in your water line made a huge difference, it made your green eyes pop! Love a minimalist make up routine. You look like Linda Evangelista.
How funny, I was just thinking she looked like a cross between Helena Christiansen and Amber Valletta.
me too: helen christensen!

Loved this. Thank you. Between getting older and living in a tropical environment (Australia), minimal and breathable while looking polished is key.
Sooo refreshing look in the all xmas red lip / green eyes chaos. Thank you, love it !! 🤍
Love this look. I’m in my 50’s but very very oily skin and large pores so sadly it’s a face of doublewear for me every day to hide the pores! Would love to be able to explore a natural look.
Love the no makeup makeup look as it’s so much easier to do when you can’t be arsed to look perfect xx
So true!
My gosh, I love this look. Watching you spend so much time blending and buffing everything out was such a light bulb moment for me!

I have some facial scars I need to minimize and I find a bit of concealer and Mac powder foundation does the job but do you have any more tips for me on how to keep it natural using these products or what I can layer on top of them?
great video thanks. did you manage to find out the make and colour or the eye liner you used? many thanks
Best video yet!
At 41 this is EXACTLY the type of makeup I’m wearing/interested in. Want to look like im wearing nothing while also shaving a few years off. I love bold lip/eye too so right on about skin must be undetectable.
Current loves:
Catrice under eye brightener
Elf luminous putty bronzer in vacay mood
Struggles:
-Covering the patch of age spots on my cheek without leaving a texture on the skin. They’re too big for pinpoint conceal.
- can’t figure out how to wear the equivalent of a bold red lip but in a pink. I look best in saturated color and need contrast but bold fuchsia just feels too fake looking.
This is so pretty Sam. I love the mint and the liner in your waterline ❤️
I watched both and you are right. The Love Has Won doc had my jaw gaping on the floor. It was beyond nutty.
I’ll check out the Nyx mauve liner, I have a couple of the other shades, I have a purple toned natural lip colour too. xx
Yes, it IS enough! This look is beautiful and thank you for doing it.
Love this. Its accessible and clean. I tried the smoky eye thing, the red lip thing - I love the way it looks on other people, but not for me.
I'm all for this look! It's hard to find tutorials that truly pair the makeup down. Thanks!
Love this look. I don't wear foundation so this is right up my alley.
That eyeliner pencil is what I've been searching for for years!!! I am patiently waiting for the reveal!!
You are so welcome!
Both looks are bloody gorgeous! So refreshing to see looks like this. Thank you! xx
Thank you so much!!
I’ve finally become an adult. I bought a brush set from Katie Jane Hughes. I would love a tutorial using HUDA ‘s eye palate
Love your ‘undone’ video’s. And that pop of green…! I’ll try that for a Christmas face. Thanx Sam x
Love it, perfect for Summer here in Australia! The only thing I'd swap out is a tinted sunscreen! ❤
This mascara trick for a lighter look is GOLD!!!!
Love the minimalist makeup. This has been my go to forever. If you have nice skin why cover it up with base? Thanks Sam! You always look great!
I do love this! I’m 35 and feel like this is the PERFECT amount of makeup for a special occasion. Otherwise I just wear tinted sunscreen on most days.
I am 73 and always have loved makeup so the Second look is fabulous for me ! Thanks ❤
So glad!
Absolutely love this look! And, a really clear tutorial on how to get it and apply the products. Thanks this was very inspiring.
Love this look!
Very refreshing to find a minimalist makeup tutorial❤
You look really minimalistic and delicate! Your eyes makeup is very interesting - natural with little scent of a glittery. I didn't know about this technik of blending and buffing out everything, especially mascara - love it! Thank you, I'll try it.♥
my favourite type of makeup look thank you, its so refreshing to see.
I'm so glad!
This is the perfect amount of makeup for me, especially an everyday look.
I would love advice for a mature foundation. I also have HORRIFIC eye circles. so, how can I cover those while still looking minimal. As soon as I put on concealer under the eyes, the makeup starts getting piled on everywhere.
Your bone structure is so gorge you could wear Vaseline and a bit of blush and still look incredible.❤
Love this ❤ I am definitely a minimal make up wearer so not using a foundation base often this is a really helpful tutorial- have saved! x
These little twerks are the things that separate a proper mua from any makeup influencer, imo, and i am here for it❤
Ps.
❤ Im obsessed with your features 🎉 so stunning😊
Thanks Kelly 🥰
Perfect! Exactly what I've been looking for! A true pretty natural look with truly minimal makeup! Thank you! Hope I can get all this stuff in the US!
The trick of spreading a mascara with eyeshadow brush is brilliant! Thank you, Sam.
I would absolutely wear this look
I love this look. I’m 51 and always think I need more product than i probably do so this is definitely something I’m going to try.
love the tips about the mascara and shadow sticks for a natural look! I'm finding less is more at almost 59. i've never used a primer, but maybe I need to start for this look.
Thanks so much for doing this look - It’s perfect and you look gorgeous😍 appreciate you explaining why why’s and what not’s ♥️
Perfection! A true minimalist makeup look! Love it!!
Hi Sam, where is your jumper from? It’s so nice😊
Thank you for this fantastic truly minimalistic makeup tutorial! I'm definitely trying the mascara application tip. Cheers!
Im 42 yrs young and i would definitely do this ❤ such a pretty effortless look.
Fabulous ! Bravo! For presenting an everyday look 💫. PS. Tiny change for your description, please amend the mattifying primer brand from Clarins to Erborian.
