Hi Caroline, I think by far this is the freshest most pretty makeup you have ever done. I see so many makeup tutorials where they pile it on and on and I think at the end they look older. I’m so loving this simple more minimalist approach to beauty and your 70s inspired look the other week bought back so many memories to me as a little girl watching my dear Mum ‘putting her face on’. She had minimalist makeup most of the time but would ‘put her eyes on’ for nights out and special occasions. Let us all embrace this fresh look and free ourselves of endless makeup items, with the cost of living cris hitting all of us, this seems like the perfect time. Thank you for everything that you bring to us each week!
Of course the trick is this fresh natural minimalist look uses just as many products! But I'm with you- when I find the right product I stick with it. I'm not one to have 10 different blush options 😊
The older I get, the more I absolutely hate the feeling of makeup on my face. This video is right on time and I’ll be trying this today. Caroline comes thru again! ❤❤❤
Same. It's why the only makeup I use now are mascara, brow pencil and a little under eye concealer. Investing in good skincare has paid off so I no longer need foundation and powders. Which are aging anyway.
I prefer cream eyeshadow sticks and liquid washes because they end up looking better. I enjoy playing with powder shadows with brushes but it never looks as good. I think because I don’t know when to stop lol! I have too much fun ♥️
Morning Caroline! Love the looks you create and appreciate your honest feedback/reviews of the products you're using! I especially appreciate your expressions, 'some welly'and 'lob it on the table' 😂 so relatable! X
Hi Caroline! Love an everyday natural look 😍 I much prefer cream everything! Have an embarrassing amount of cream shadows! 😅 thank you so much for this! Much love xxx
I love the look of these products. I’m 57 and love wearing makeup but have noticed that less is more on the skin as I get older. My hair is grey/white naturally now so unless I define my eyes I can look like a ghost. I just wish my eyelids weren’t so mobile as I find it really hard to do anything other than a smoky smudgy eye without it looking a mess, the colours just seem to end up being blended into one sludge colour 😂. I love Lisa Eldridge liquid lurex eyeshadow but maybe a bit too glittery for daytime. Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon are also a favourite for ease of use and really enhance your eye colour.
Hello Caroline, What a lovely and fresh make-up ! Whatever you try turns out beautiful on you ! The older I get, the more I like cream blushes. That vegan brand looks really great. The bronzer looks fresh and natural. Thank you, Caroline ! Have a nice week-end ! 🌸
Really smashed it this week Caroline, loved that look, your skin looks so youthful. Thanks for the tip to use the angle brush on brows. Mine are thinning so I'm loving that tip 😊
I love using cream makeup products on my face. Like you, I love face painting with my fingers and all the patting and blending with fingers, creating all the different shades and tones needed. I find it very relaxing and finished makeup soft and beautiful!
Morning Caroline At late I’ve only been using cream products as I feel they work better on my skin & look so much fresher & I never wear powder anymore Love this kind of look see you next week take care ❤
That’s a lovely look Caroline….am straight off to the Merit website. Laughed at how LONG you put mascara on for, I probably get full face on in the time you did 46 coats….😂
Love the concept of “Morning Brows”. I need that! Lately I’ve been enjoying cream shadows on my crepey eyes. I think the formulas have gotten better. I sometimes like using a matte cream under a satiny powder.
Hello, Caroline love your channel and watch every time you post a video Love how you show to put makeup on very lightly going to try some of the makeup you show.
I love the Merit stick highlighter. And to answer your question about my favorite way to apply eye shadow, I prefer creamy sticks that I can rub in with my finger and then I might dab more shimmer on top with a glittery product. ❤
Your skin looks amazing. Something off topic, and because you complain about your lips, have you considered fillers? I've been doing for 2 years now, in especific points of my face, and its helped a lot. Only you can tell the difference. Your features dont change. It's you but better. Just wanted to share this with you and your audience that may be curious about it😊
This is a beautiful look Caroline and lovely if you have more even natural skin tone and don’t need much cover. Unfortunately I have too much redness on my cheek area (don’t get me wrong I love blush) in the wrong place and I have to use a reasonable cover to even it out before reapplying blush in the right place. Can you do a video on ladies like me who want a beautiful skin like foundation with reasonable cover but still want to look natural, I am over 55 with good skin but hate the redness.🥰💜
Hi Caroline I love using my fingers as you were doing,it’s what I’ve a,ways done & it’s quicker.Looks lovely,I will have to check them out as I haven’t heard of them 🙂
Hi Caroline, I'm a bit late to the party this week but your video was worth waiting to watch in peace and quiet. This look is beautiful and I will definitely be checking out the products you used. I had my eyebrows microbladed last week so I'm abstaining from makeup until they're fully healed. I hope you had a good weekend and have a good week ahead. Take care, Heidi xx
Greetings Caroline and everyone. I am absolutely in love with Merit. I use the Glow Serum every day and it’s beautiful alone and under makeup. It’s such a gorgeous texture and my skin loves the hydration. I have almost all the shades of lipstick. My favorite is Millennial. You can wear it sheer or build them up. I have the tinted lip oil in Marrakesh and it’s a lovely terracotta. The lip oil doesn’t last too long on the lips but I hear that the new lip gelees are longer lasting. I want to try the rest of the line! Thanks for sharing Caroline! Have a wonderful week ahead. ❤
Reef - our peachy liquid eye shadow shade is just gorgeous on you. You just a little plus. Reef has become our most popular shade and it has been out of stock. Pleased to share that we will be re-stocking it next week 🧡
What a beautiful look! So pretty and natural. I’ve been eyeing up Merit for some time now and heard so many great things about it. I’ve also been intrigued by a brand called Bloomeffects; a small, Dutch skincare brand based on the power of tulips and not letting them go to waste. All these great things to try come pay day!
Hi Caroline 😊 Another beautiful look. If i’m in a hurry for work, I definitely prefer a cream eyeshadow because you can get much more of a “one and done” look very quickly. When I’ve got more time, I love playing with eyeshadow palettes and brushes though. Merit looks like a lovely brand, I’ll definitely check it out ❤xx
A nice cup of coffee and Caroline‘s very nice video! What else do you need for a lovely day? 😊 Proberbly you can do a Trinny London-products video? Just bought a lot of these things 🙈 and thought ist would be great to see and hear your opinion and the way you would use it. Thank you for your wonderful videos once more!
Beautiful! Yes I agree- I'd go a little pared down with the lip for this look. Loved the lip liner tho! I love the Merit cheek balm you used but it doesn't last on me at all unless I set with powder blush, and that defeats the purpose for me!
Oh those face sticks looked so satisfying to apply Caroline. I love cream products but can't use them on my very hooded eyes, they all crease badly on me, even with primer underneath. I want a mascara that gives volume, doesn't flake or smudge. Most mascaras advertise that they don't do that but they all lie!! x
Hi Jo. I have the same problem with mascara until I got one by Bare Minerals in my beauty advent calendar. Never considered this brand before but wow it’s a beautiful product. Gives you lovely thick lashes without looking overly made up or clumpy and doesn’t flake. Easy to remove too. The Charlotte Tilbury push up lashes was impossible to remove even with waterproof eye makeup remover, it took at least three pads saturated with the stuff to get it all off 😅
@emmaboulton1 Hello, thanks for the message. I have never bought anything from Bare Minerals, despite always browsing the counter when I'm in a store. Thank you for the recommendation, have a good day 🙂
Hi Caroline I love cream/liquid makeup for my super dry/mature skin. I always had dry/eczema prone skin and always loved cream blush - even way back in the day where there were so few choices available. Nowadays we've seen an explosion of cream/liquid makeup become available and the products last a lot longer on the skin. I haven't worn powder blush in years tbh. For a quick look eye sticks or liquid shadows are fab and I even like them paired with some powder shadow when I have more time to play. Having very dry skin can make makeup look heavy if I'm not careful, but as I have rosacea I do need some coverage. Green corrector and/or primer helps, but I still need some skin toned coverage. I used to use very sheer complexion products before the rosacea and chronic redness, but I'm having to use a more light to medium coverage nowadays unfortunately. The Merit serum is getting rave reviews as a skincare product in it's own right and it is a brand i'm curious about. Best wishes.
@@Mollyjean2014 Hi my current favourite is the Mac F&B, but I use a green corrector from vichy to disguise some of the redness. In the Summer I switch to lancome teint idole as it lasts longer on the skin through humidity. I hope that helps. Cream blushes etc are pretty much all ok on me, so there is no specific product as such.
I guess her videos are just for a very lucky wealthy minority ....everyday more minority. It is impossible for normal people to afford that . And even If i could i cant find a reason to spend so much money in products looking the same as so many others ...but a lot cheaper . As I always say, is the quality of your skin not the products..and obviously how you apply them .
It’s worth looking at reviews by others who have purchased Merit with their own money and given an honest review. The cost of the foundation stick given that there is so little product is exorbitant in comparison to other high end products. Reviews also make it clear that the products don’t last long at all and the makeup is gone within 4 hours. The lipsticks and lip tints do consistently get a good review though.
I do like putting eyeshadow on with my fingers but I’d like to know how to perfect the art of using eyeshadow powder as a liner on top of the cream shadow to intensify a look because my eyelids are bumpy so it’s difficult to find a soft enough pencil but also get definition. I do love watching and listening to your videos they are like a comfort blanket with your gentle voice but so informative
Wow thank you for this! I found out about Merit 3 years ago and now after trying Jones Road for a year and a half, I think I might like Merit (perhaps better?) I adore NUDESTIX. I love multipurpose makeup that is super natural looking.
What is it with the Uk and fake tan? In Canada, I almost never see fake tan, it is always weird and considered tacky. Some people use the gentle jergens moisturizer type, which is slow, mild, and not obvious. Natural always wins. I have pale skin and my legs are fluorescent white most of the year. Not lovely, but natural. I just wear capri pants and don’t care. With the onset of sunscreen and knowledge of sun damage, no one is competing to tan. We have a full range of skin colours here, pale to black. Very freeing, really. Donald Trump is the classic fake tan. Enough said.😊
Caroline - just wanted to say thank you for this fantastic video. Your tips on using eyebrow mascara have really changed the game for me. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your expertise. I just love watching your videos!
Hi Caroline! The makeup look that you created is so fresh and beautiful! I've always been interested to try Merit beauty but they don't seem to deliver to EU. xoxo
Ok Caroline I’ve heard good things about this facial oil but before I purchase I’d like to know how it would sit on my 70 yr old slightly combination skin. I also noticed you put it on after SPF . Thank you for all the time you spend making these lovely videos for us to watch ❤
Love this Caroline. I am a little older than your mum and I’m wondering if you could try this out with her and see what her take is on it…..as in ….is this suitable for the more mature skin/person?
Hi Caroline, I think this is a lovely look! I really like the colors . I do have a merit lipstick in slip. I really love the way it feels . It’s kinda a brownie neutral color. I think I would like Baby. I’m so fond of pink. I bought the Cava highlighter, I really like it too. I am interested in this brand . Now I want this foundation you got ! Take care and thank you!!
I was remembering the neutrogena foundation stick. Decades ago. UK drugstore. Had loads of hyaluronic acid in it. Wonder why neutrogena stopped stocking in UK. Tangent I know but this foundation reminds me
Hi Caroline. You have so much knowledge about color and placement on the skin. Every Saturday I'm looking forward to watching your video. Learning so much! Unfortunately Merit is not (yet?) available in my country, otherwise I would definitely purchase some of their products. I enjoy cream eyeshadows, but most colors end up a bit yellow/ orange on my light skin.
I think the older I have got, I'm 47 next month I prefer a real natural look, though I do still love a red lip, it's my signature. I've always looked after my skin so I don't use foundation and I love the more creamier products. I love the merit range, the minimalist is fantastic, very much like glossier stretch and the bronzer, the face oil, etc. My whole approach to make ion changed in lock down when I just embraced my skin oils and kept it very minimal, bronzer on face and eyes and loved it 🥰
Hi Caroline, I love this look. If you are using sunscreen wouldn't the oil used prior to the foundation break up the layer of sunscreen? I am always trying to figure out what works over the sunscreen without breaking it down. Thanks for your thought.
I have Merit products and I think it's key to have a very well moisturised skin before applying the Minimalist stick, otherwise it was too dry on my skin. I love the bronzer and flush balm. Also the lipstick and lip oil. Have you tried the Tower 25 or Sweed mascaras? They are lovely for a natural, yet defined look and though I use dewy products, they don't transfer. Thanks for your great GRWM videos.x
I was literally checking out the merit website 10 minutes before finding your upload on You-tube! Will be interested to see the products & your thoughts on them. A discount code would be fantastic so I can justify buying more make-up lol! Love your content Caroline ❤
I love this look Caroline. The peach eye cream by Gen See looks beautiful but it is out of stock. Is there anything in a similar shade that you could recommend to me please?
Love the look. I'm too scared to use cream products at all and I find that at 52 all make up (powder, foundations etc) just don't sit well on my skin these days. Maybe I should give cream make up a go 😊
This foundation looks beautiful. Do you think it would work over the Daniel Sandler colour corrector? Or would it be too sheer? Running out of the Westman Atelier stick and love the look of this one.
Hi Caroline, I can’t remember if I’ve said this before, but I’ve used the Adipeau cream that Claire from the Honest channel did a deep dice on with the creator. It’s totally transformed my lips and my border. May be something for you to check out as I know you’ve often said make up can settle a bit in the lip border
Hi Caroline, I think by far this is the freshest most pretty makeup you have ever done. I see so many makeup tutorials where they pile it on and on and I think at the end they look older. I feel the same way!
Would love to see a video on tinted sunscreens sometime and many thanks for your fabulous vlogs xx
My vibe. Super look 🔥 More of these “feels like skincare” minimalistic make up brands please, Caroline 😍
Yes!
Very dreamy looking Caroline, love Merit products! ☕💄
Why not actual skincare we can add colour pigments to? that's the HG I'm waiting for lol
Love love love this look!!!!!!! I'm a 60 year old with decent skin. I have found that a more minimal look is better for me.
I prefer cream eyeshadow sticks and liquid washes because they end up looking better. I enjoy playing with powder shadows with brushes but it never looks as good. I think because I don’t know when to stop lol! I have too much fun ♥️
Thanks for showing eyebrow technique I’m loosing on the end so I’ll try brush with eyebrow gel. No on ever told us our eyebrows would disappear
Morning Caroline! Love the looks you create and appreciate your honest feedback/reviews of the products you're using! I especially appreciate your expressions, 'some welly'and 'lob it on the table' 😂 so relatable! X

yes using fingers to blend is my fav!! Thankyou for sharing this makeup tutorial! Going to try out Merit soon
Really smashed it this week Caroline, loved that look, your skin looks so youthful. Thanks for the tip to use the angle brush on brows. Mine are thinning so I'm loving that tip 😊
Hi Caroline , love the look. I have just started using a cream blush and eyeshadow on my very mature 70 year old skin. Definitely prefer it 😊
I love using cream makeup products on my face. Like you, I love face painting with my fingers and all the patting and blending with fingers, creating all the different shades and tones needed. I find it very relaxing and finished makeup soft and beautiful!
Merit seem like a great new brand - the lip oil looks gorgeous ❤ Beautiful look on you, Caroline!
That lip color is gorgeous ❤❤❤
Hello Caroline, you are beautiful with this minimalist makeup, love the lipstick, have a good day🧡🧡🧡
What a lovely fresh look! I love the lip color on you Caroline-so flattering!
Absolutely beautiful Caroline. The lip really finishes the look
Morning Caroline
At late I’ve only been using cream products as I feel they work better on my skin & look so much fresher
& I never wear powder anymore
Love this kind of look see you next week take care ❤
That’s a lovely look Caroline….am straight off to the Merit website. Laughed at how LONG you put mascara on for, I probably get full face on in the time you did 46 coats….😂
I love that brand, it looks beautiful and so natural and as for the lip oil so lovely. 😊
What an absolutely beautiful fresh look. Totally inspired!
Love the concept of “Morning Brows”. I need that! Lately I’ve been enjoying cream shadows on my crepey eyes. I think the formulas have gotten better. I sometimes like using a matte cream under a satiny powder.
Love the look and love Merit. The products are beautiful. Their lipsticks and lip oil are not drying and feel so comfy. Love the bronzer too❤️
Hello, Caroline love your channel and watch every time you post a video Love how you show to put makeup on very lightly going to try some of the makeup you show.
I’ve bought some of the merit products and love them. Don’t think I’ll ever go back to a full face again. The brush is fantastic
Beautiful look! I love the MeritnFlush Balm Cream Blush in Stockholm which I love. Prefer cream products for my mature combination skin.
Always as usual beautiful makeup on you xxx
That looks so fresh and dewy ❤
Such a gorgeous look Caroline.Perfect start to the weekend.
Loved this. A very light touch but what a transformation.
Gorgeous natural look. I love cream products as get older 😊
Wonderful look! And that lip color on you, wow!
Absolutely stunning!!! Simple and beautiful
Just wanted to share this with you and your audience that may be curious about it😊
Nice natural look, gorgeous👍🏼🤩💐
I love merit! Their blushes and lipsticks are some of my go tos.
Loving the look so fresh and makes the skin shine through....😊

Ooh just ordered a few items - they look gorgeous - great look and demo!
Merit is my new favourite brand, those lip oils (especially the new shades) are 🔥
Reef - our peachy liquid eye shadow shade is just gorgeous on you.
It’s fun to see your tutorial. Thank you!
Gorgeous makeup, your skin looks incredible
A nice cup of coffee and Caroline‘s very nice video! What else do you need for a lovely day? 😊 Proberbly you can do a Trinny London-products video? Just bought a lot of these things 🙈 and thought ist would be great to see and hear your opinion and the way you would use it. Thank you for your wonderful videos once more!

Beautiful ❤. Love the look. I love merit
STUNNING! very natural is my vibe as well. I've been on Merit's website quite a lot. So thrilled you did this.
Thank you so much for explaining what sit beautifully and make up with, I’ve heard the phrase but I never quite understood what that meant

That’s more than I’ve spent on makeup in total over the last few years!
Also shipping is £12 to UK on their site!!!

Hi Caroline! The makeup look that you created is so fresh and beautiful! I've always been interested to try Merit beauty but they don't seem to deliver to EU. xoxo
That blusher looks a similar colour to the discontinued Max Factor Soft Copper?
Thank you great video, the glow serum which looks lovely, is that what you use as a moisturizer?
God you look gorgeous! Love this look!
Ok Caroline I’ve heard good things about this facial oil but before I purchase I’d like to know how it would sit on my 70 yr old slightly combination skin. I also noticed you put it on after SPF . Thank you for all the time you spend making these lovely videos for us to watch ❤
Beautiful look!
This is a beautiful look! Which stores in London stock Merit beauty or is it just a case of hit and miss looking at the site online?

So glad you did this, a great cruelty free and vegan video, I will definitely be checking out Merit, love the look, such a pretty summer look ❤

I love the merit range, the minimalist is fantastic, very much like glossier stretch and the bronzer, the face oil, etc. My whole approach to make ion changed in lock down when I just embraced my skin oils and kept it very minimal, bronzer on face and eyes and loved it 🥰
Thank you for another beautiful look and recs. I love your blouse! Would you share the brand?
Hi Caroline, I love this look. If you are using sunscreen wouldn't the oil used prior to the foundation break up the layer of sunscreen? I am always trying to figure out what works over the sunscreen without breaking it down. Thanks for your thought.
soooo beautiful!
Caroline where is your necklace with the tiny discs from? Lovely look as always
Wondering the same about the green one.
Lovely. Thank you
Very Pretty!!!
Wow, gorgeous!
I love this look Caroline. The peach eye cream by Gen See looks beautiful but it is out of stock. Is there anything in a similar shade that you could recommend to me please?
Beautiful look🎉
Love the look. I'm too scared to use cream products at all and I find that at 52 all make up (powder, foundations etc) just don't sit well on my skin these days. Maybe I should give cream make up a go 😊
This sounds good
This foundation looks beautiful.
