So appreciate that you're back showing us how to adjust our makeup in our 40s. I think I had just turned 30 when I started watching you and I'm about to turn 45. Minimal skin and undone eyes remained my thing and saved my sanity through all the crazy instaglam trends 💜
Love Sam's videos, love the fact she caters for us maturer ladies, I mean us gals in the 40's club and also she is not pushing products for us to buy. She 💯 unapologetically herself, a real one and I cannot wait for more content.
Thank you for posting even if you thought there were audio/color issues. Honestly I think most of us who watch don't really mind or notice things that probably seem really obvious to the creators.
Love the way you do your Make up simple and flawless and the red lip is wearable. Please keep it up, your tips are so perfect for midlife women, Thanks for that! 💙
Yes! Please keep up with the minimal makeup looks. My favorite style. Thanks for your great content and your great tips. From now on I’ll wear my red lipstick following your technique ❤❤
I have watched you and your sister since the Pixie Woo days. I love your relaxed, less is more, not trying too hard style. Beautiful and deceptively effortless looking.
The look is very chic and cool. Love it. My skin tone is olive and pretty light because of that it‘s kind of hard to find good matches so I really like a light coverage as it‘s more forgiving I think. So your tips are really appreciated. TY
This is exactly what i was looking for after treating myself to a red Dior lipstick :) I've been learning from you and Nic for years now and you both still as real as the first day I watched you. Wishing you love and happiness for the coming New Year Cheers for everything you create Sam x
Ahh Sam! Finally someone who actually caters for us over 40’s!! You are so right about the less is more. I can’t do a full face anymore it just always looks too much. The hair tip is fabulous! Thanks Doll x
Love it - so many helpful tips and I love the final look too, thank you so much for coming back to You Tube - you really got me through lockdown (glass of wine, watching you and your sisters tutorials, hiding in my bedroom from the family..!!)
Big hug for 10 min straight. Just rocking side to side. Lol. You are courageous, responsible, and push through. You are a fighter and surviver. And most likely a soul family relative of Cate Blanchett. Much love precious one. Ty for being here. And the makeup is gorgeous.💫❤️🔥💝
Thanks very much for this tutorial, Sam! You look lovely as usual with or without makeup. I also loved your tips about concealer, lipstick, and hair. So very useful! I am so happy that you are back on RUclips. All the best to you, Nic, and your entire family for the new year.
Yeeeej! Love these! Hope you upload some old goodies too. Love the makeuplook-video’s; Terry Barber, 90’s grunch, 5 ways to wear black, 3 x summer bronze. Gold.
Thank you! I love this! I do think as I'm getting older my skin is more neutral cool. When I was younger I could get away leaning more towards the warm side and I need to use cooler colors. I especially love the nude lip liner tip because my red lipstick does end up as too much when I use a red lip liner. Happy New Year!
Great video and look as always! I love how conscious you are of the overall balance between the hair, clothing, makeup. Obviously anyone can do as makes them happy but when taking on something very specific like minimal makeup taking in all the pieces can really help gauge what to do. So glad to have you back on youtube as well. Your videos of late have been not only informative but incredibly calming which is all I look for after being burned out on life at the end of a long day. Anyway, enough of my ramble, I hope you have a great New Years Eve!
Hahha didn’t even notice the sound problem! Was fine either way. Just so glad I stumbled across your vids, exactly what I needed. In my 40d and so lost with what to do, need a big overhaul, buy the right products and don’t be stingy with the price because they look amazing on and so worth it. ❤
I really appreciate that you’re back with make up / skincare recommendations I followed your recommendation for years since the old RUclips days I remembered how i discovered your channel after trying to fond out the olsen twins make up run snd bought mac groundwork im not sure about the name anymore since then and now turning 40 years still love yo follow your tips also have a dry skin ,,, thank you ❤
Cooler tones absolutely suit you! I love cool tones on light eyes. Your tips on strategic application, balance, and tones is so true! I’ve found neutral/cooler tones suit my eyes and lips more and olive toned bronzers bring me to life (dark features and fair-light olive complexion here). It’s been a recent discovery though I’m olive, I’m not as warm as my deeper complected olive counterparts are. My looks suit me so much better now that I’ve learned this! Blessed to have you back on RUclips-I’ve been following you for yrs and your makeup philosophy’s always resonated w me.
Hello Sam! Really beautiful! I don´t feel confortable with a red lip, but I like to see in other people! All look is so simple and gorgeous! Love your coat ... very classic and elegant!! Thank you so much!!!!
I love your videos so much, Sam. I learn something new every time and your videos also make me revisit my own stash instead of feeling the need to buy something new! ♥️ But a new lipstick is always so fun.
I was thinking, Oh, almost 2024, so wait: Last October 🤯... *I' TS BEEN 15 YEARS!!!!* I was working at my first job as a MUA in MAC after finishing the compulsory university degree at that time, (Oh My Goodness Gracious Me, MAC, we felt on top of the world!😅), Po-po-po-ker Face sounding everywhere, my stubborn ears learning spoken english thanks to your videos, your glorious series of recreations (Twiggy in a loop), Tania being your model, teeny-tiny Lili🥹... I' ve spended one third of my life with you and more than half, literally, with a red lip on. I' m not crying you are🫣. Happy Everything, dear Sam🧛🏻♀️🖤!
Beautiful and certainly a reminder for gentle proportions. I love your undone messy hair. Every time I try for that look it looks wrong on my features and simply looks messy. Thanks for being a proponent of skipping bronzer. I feel so artificial with bronzer in the depths of winter, especially living in the Pacific Northwest United States. I can see how it makes some people shine year round.
What a lovely look! I bought the Nars light reflecting product, because it looks amazing whenever you use it in a video. But it didn't work quite as well for me. Not for the reasons you mention here, but because I have rather purple dark circles and they shone through and made me look even more tired & pale. So the Charlotte Tilbury corrector is what I still reach for regularly (a completely different product category, I'm aware). The Nars light reflector was way more pasty than I expected, too. But as you mention, a tiny bit on top of everything else works great. And I've started using it a bit all over the face since it isn't glittery and I'm quite happy with the results. Not what the brand had in mind I guess, but I'm happy I found a way to make it work :) It's always a bit of a hit or miss things with makeup you can't try in store, but this one was worth it in the end.
This has become my makeup over the Christmas holidays thank you. You mention you have some wrinkles from “when I used to sleep on my face”. Could you do a tutorial on sleeping positions, pillows anything else that help prevent this. I am 43 and struggle to get comfortable unless I am lying on my belly which is the worst! Would love to know if there are tips/tricks you could share. And finally, Happy New Year
Stunning look Sam, and thanks so much for a lovely and real look for the mature of us. So refreshing amongst all the so called MUA’s that obliterate their faces with foundation and bronzer! x
👏🏼👏🏼 Not just to thank you for the absolutely amazing makeup you do but also for the education you provide with it …. Super helpful. Oh and I love how you mentioned the sleeping on your eyes causes the lines as I was doing the exactly same thing as I was watching the video, never turned my head and phone so fast ❤
Hey Sam, will it be possible for you to re-upload your old videos, especially the 3 looks in one and the 5 looks in one videos. They were immensely helpful and I really miss them! Please consider this request! ❤😊
Great video, loving the tips for us more mature women, once you hit 45-50 ish you’re pretty much ignored by brands, advertising and influencers, so thanks for that Sam. I’ve kind of lost my confidence with bright colours, I might try the nude liner next time, I’ve got big lips so bright colours really stand out, my nickname has been hotlips since the 90’s 😝 need to remind myself it’s ok to stand out! 💋
Well. The Truth is out there. Someone is applying concealer on human skin and NOT doing it so, like painting a Wall. Thanks for everything Sam. The tips, the looks, your presence, you brilliant aesthetics and your deconstructive Humour, a Remedy in dark times. Happy New Year to you and your family and all of You in The Island.❤🎉🙏💯🌊🇬🇧
Love your fresh faced makeup videos❤. I have red rosacea-ish patches on my cheeks, which is not really covered by the primers or sheer tint veils. Is there some thing I can use that covers the redness without putting on a full face of foundation?
More so because the contrast against my eye colour is extreme. Those colours aren’t as harmonious on my skin as the cool ones though. They’re still not terrible because I’m a neutral undertone so can get away with many more colours than a person with either a cool or warm.
@@samchapmanmakeup Gotcha! I'm fair w/blue eyes... too-warm shades on my lids often make me look off/sickly because my skin tone isn't neutral enough. You're blessed. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and demos.
Happy New Year, Sam!! I'm writing to request a lesson on something you've talked about for years. MAC Face and Body... I would love to see how you use it. Everyone always says its a light to full coverage foundation for the face and body. I've never seen anyone use it as a full, or high coverage product and I would love to know how to use it properly. Is this something you'd consider? XO's from Portland Oregon, USA. 💜🤟🏻 Edit- if you're game, I'd love to see a full face of MAC, or the products you still use and love from the brand. Thanks
Thank you for explaining the neutral/cool coloring. I am the same and thought I was crazy that I could be neutral, yet warm colors tend to look swampy (like too much makeup on a hot humid day) 😆 on me.
You asked what we use in a previous video for natural mature: Mineral Fusion concealer, Benefit eyebrow pen/brush, Mineral Fusion mascara, lip gloss. Over Mad Hippie moisturized skin and SPF tint.
(FIY the audio was totally fine in the beginning. For me, at least.) I really like the lipstick on you, i can never make myself wear a red lip with a more defined lipline, i always feel it looks just undone on me. Although i often find a defined lipline aging and sometimes too "dramatic". But the way you do it just doesn't work for me😅 I will give it another try though😊
The sound was even better without microphone 😃🌻
It was much better!
So appreciate that you're back showing us how to adjust our makeup in our 40s. I think I had just turned 30 when I started watching you and I'm about to turn 45. Minimal skin and undone eyes remained my thing and saved my sanity through all the crazy instaglam trends 💜
Me too! ❤

Well said 😊
The reason I started watching RUclips 13 years ago is back 🙏🏻
Sam, you are gorgeous!!!! And you are right in everything you’re saying in this video!!! Thank you for sharing♥️
Thank you so much!!
The final tip about unfussy hair is a great one! I always enjoy the cool British style advice on your channel - ladylike with a bit of an edge.
I'm so glad you're back on RUclips! It's much easier to watch here and I learned so much in this video and all of your videos. Happy new year, Sam! 🎉🍾
I have watched you and your sister since the Pixie Woo days. I love your relaxed, less is more, not trying too hard style. Beautiful and deceptively effortless looking.
Loving that you are back, this place wasn’t the same without you. Love these look’s xx
The look is very chic and cool. Love it. My skin tone is olive and pretty light because of that it‘s kind of hard to find good matches so I really like a light coverage as it‘s more forgiving I think. So your tips are really appreciated. TY
Stunning! Can’t get over how pretty you are and that red lipstick is fav.
I love your tip for lifting your eye lid with a pencil for tight lining!!
This is exactly what i was looking for after treating myself to a red Dior lipstick :) I've been learning from you and Nic for years now and you both still as real as the first day I watched you. Wishing you love and happiness for the coming New Year Cheers for everything you create Sam x
I just treat3r myself to a Dior red too! 999
Ahh Sam! Finally someone who actually caters for us over 40’s!! You are so right about the less is more. I can’t do a full face anymore it just always looks too much. The hair tip is fabulous! Thanks Doll x
I agree, sound better without microphone.
Your skin is insane, been watching you for a decade and I’m always amazed by how stunning you are 💕💕💕
Love having you back on RUclips Sam..we missed you. Also, great tips for keeping a red lip from being overly 'done'. Thank you x
Love it - so many helpful tips and I love the final look too, thank you so much for coming back to You Tube - you really got me through lockdown (glass of wine, watching you and your sisters tutorials, hiding in my bedroom from the family..!!)
So cool! You have goth chic natural… kinda 80s Patti Hansen…so good!!!
I ❤ your videos. Full of great tips! Thank you.
Really enjoyed this one Sam! All the very best to you, Ryan, Lily and Olivia for 2024!
Lip color is stunning! My gosh just love that you are sharing your expertise! Real breath of fresh air for a 56 year old Chica :)
Oh thank you!
Thanks very much for this tutorial, Sam! You look lovely as usual with or without makeup. I also loved your tips about concealer, lipstick, and hair. So very useful! I am so happy that you are back on RUclips. All the best to you, Nic, and your entire family for the new year.

Love this. I enjoy makeup but am definitely more of a minimalist and love seeing how you create polished looks without being overdone.
Yay! Thank you!
You're great Sam really enjoy your chanel you give great advice thankbyou ❤
Simple hair and red lip is so Parisian chic!!!
Absolutely lovely!!! love the make up, the hair, everything 💕

Semplicemente stupendo questo makeup.... semplice,ma di grande effetto 😍un saluto dall' Italia😊
Beautiful makeup Sam, love the red lipstick
Love your makeup tips and tricks Sam ❤
You said so much that was helpful to me, a woman of 72. Thank you! So good to watch your videos again!
I’m so happy you are back on RUclips! I always loved your videos! ❤

I am so glad to see you and Nic posting videos- you were my first YT'ers from way back when! Love your content and hope to see more looks!
Hello Sam! Really beautiful! I don´t feel confortable with a red lip, but I like to see in other people! All look is so simple and gorgeous! Love your coat ... very classic and elegant!! Thank you so much!!!!
I love an undone red lip - so much cooler. There are days when I want the super precise and polished look, but less and less often.
I love your videos so much, Sam. I learn something new every time and your videos also make me revisit my own stash instead of feeling the need to buy something new! ♥️ But a new lipstick is always so fun.
Great tip to let your hair undone when you wear more make up ❤

Loving all the new videos! I’d love a video with concealer tips from you, if that sounds fun of course Happy new year!
I loved your tight-lining hack! You look amazing too.

I’m so glad your back on here , loving your videos for mature skin 😊your sooo brilliant 🤩 ❤
Ok I have been hating the Becca eye brightener but I think what I need is the proper brush. Sam, you’ve been giving me tips for years ❤
Totally agree on the natural hair, more makeup if wanted - but both look, well, too done. 😊
Stunning! Love your channel.
I love that you’re back! I missed your videos and nics as well.
I learn something new every video! Thanks for teaching us your tricks!
BTW, your skin is magnificent. I'd love to see your routine. 😘
Totally agree about the hair. Love the lip too 😊

You’re my Oprah! OMG! I need EVERYTHING you use.
Very happy to see you back on utube😊
This was so amazingly helpful for this 45 year old lady! ❤🇨🇦
Glad it was helpful!
damn you look beautiful... i want to learn how to do that! i suspect its harder than you make it look! ❤
Love seeing you on RUclips!
Loved this tutorial. Tips are great and you look beautiful!!! Dot
Not just cool colors... warm red-orange-browns look fab on your blues eyes, too... esp a recent video using BB "cinnamon"!
More so because the contrast against my eye colour is extreme. Those colours aren’t as harmonious on my skin as the cool ones though. They’re still not terrible because I’m a neutral undertone so can get away with many more colours than a person with either a cool or warm.

Possibly you have blue or grey eyes and cool brown hair also?
Blue eyes and my natural hair color is dark ash blonde - not a trace of warmth 😅
ultimate cool girl makeup 👌
I love that you are back.
❤
Thank uou we have loved having you here 💗
Hey Sam, what is the tone of the Nars under eye product? Looks great! ❤
You asked what we use in a previous video for natural mature: Mineral Fusion concealer, Benefit eyebrow pen/brush, Mineral Fusion mascara, lip gloss. Over Mad Hippie moisturized skin and SPF tint.
Would love to know how you prep your skin before applying make up and what products you’d recommend
