About... 12 years ago now? I learned doing my makeup from you. I'm a survivor of the 2016 painted-on makeup era :) that never really resonated with me or looked good on my face and eyeshape. This video means so much to me, it's an instant classic, a masterclass in the most essential techniques, and a refresher for many of us who have been watching you for a long time. You’ve taught me more about makeup in my 50s then all the teen mags, makeup counter ladies and slumber parties of my youth ever could! Could you do a tutorial on redness around the mouth? I can never seem to cover that right
Same re: mouth redness. I also have pigmentation around my lips from acne that is difficult to cover!
Yes! I'm allergic to every toothpaste I try, so my skin at the corners of my mouth are usually red, so it looks like I have sloppy lipstick. And it's usually a bit dry, so if I use moisturizer there I actually DO end up with sloppy lipstick that bleeds, even past a pencil line. Frustrating!
@@leapintothewildTry vitamin B ointment and also take vitamin B and iron supplements. The problem you describe is in most cases not allergy related. An allergy to toothpaste strong enough to cause braking of the skin around the mouth would likely have really dangerous effects inside the mouth. It's likely that the toothpaste is just irritating the skin/accelerating the cheilosis problem you have. If vitamin B doesn't help within a few weeks, consult a dermatologist, it often gets infected. Hope this helps because there's no make up that can cover such issue without wearing out plus covering it daily might actually contribute to the problem.

I love the Maracuja lip balm for a natural, nourished lip look. Also have used it on the cheeks and I feel like I’m using a cream blush. The matte shades in I Need a Nude eyeshadow palette are so good for me personally when I want a subtle, barely-there look.
I LOVED all the tips you gave! My favorite was when you taught us how to use our existing products… add moisturizer to foundation if we don’t have a skin tint, use lipstick or a brow pencil for the lip shading, etc. Lovely and so helpful for those of us who don’t have an extensive beauty collection q

The tip that you give about mixing the moisturizer with the foundation has been a life changer!
Let me tell you why....
I suffer from rosacea with acne, and I was doing what you said people in my case do! That is, use a super thick foundation all over my face to cover what I thought to be 90% of my face that had skin issues!
After mixing my Nars soft matte complete foundation with my moisturizer and then just going back to the problem areas that resurfaced after the 1st layer.... WOW! I have amazing healthy glowing skin!!! AND it lasts ALL day without retouch!!!
I used to end my day with creases and lines from the cakiness of the full coverage, and today I am super impressed that after almost 12 hours (I worked today) my makeup still looks flawless and I am not dying to get home to take it off!!!
You have made me believe in Magic again and that I can enjoy beautiful radiant skin as when I was 20! I am about to turn 46 in March!

Lisa! I found an amazing combo of two of your lipsticks to create a mixture to look like no-makeup lip color that matches my particular neutral-leaning-cool undertone. A bit of Palazzo and a bit of Velvet Midnight mixed on the back of my hand, with a touch more Velvet Midnight in the mix, created a lovely shade like my lip color but slightly more defined and intense. I love it! Thank you.

Lisa. This makes me so nostalgic. I remember your first no make up make up like it was yesterday. The first thing i bought when i’d arrived in nyc for university were becca shimmering perfector and peter thomas roth sunscreen (yellow cap tube one) to re-create that no make up look. It’s the makeup look of choice the past i don’t know 12-13 years now? And that i still do to this day. How time flies. How great techniques stand the test of time and how great makeup will always be timeless. ❤❤❤
I love no makup makeup. I did it today before going on a parent thing at my sons high school. Before we left I asked him if it look like i had makeup on. He said yes. I asked how he could tell and he told me i looked softer and smoother specially around the eyes. That perfect, thank you. I am a big fan. I have been watching your tutorials for about ten years. I will never get tired of you updating the non makeup makeup look. It's always a classic. This is pretty much my approach. If I want to look glam I start with this as the base and just do a an accents like a soft cat eye, a bit more bold eye shadow, or a red lip. That's it. It's always chic and goes with any look.
This makeup technique makes me more confident.. I used to wear lots of coverage to get the perfect look but this one wow!!! I feel so beautiful and different among other women with lots of makeup around me. Note that am brown skin, I chose all matching colors and the result is perfect. Natural is so beautiful 😍

Absolutely lovely. This look is so fresh and it’s also amazing what a difference it makes to your mental state (at least for me). I can have hauled myself reluctantly out of bed and be dreading work, then just a quick shower, fave work clothes and a small amount of makeup to cover the blemishes and put emphasis on the good bits changes my whole attitude for the better. It would be great if lots of people can try this and see for themselves. Lisa’s techniques are all fantastic, beautiful and yet easy to achieve. xxx

Another absolutely mesmerizing tutorial, it’s so special to watch you and still get so excited and inspired, for so many years already! Also love that this one is not all about products but about technique, we need more of this. So many make-up “tutorials” just hype products and have no in-depth love and knowledge about colours, textures and techniques. You are so different, and SO so so good at what you do. ❤
This its my favorite technique !!! I have so many scars of melasma , dermatitis atopic and acne ,I thought that having an impeccable look would be impossible, thanks to you tips ,I achieved it, my favorite concealer is the Secret Camouflege (05 and 06) from LM, I have some very small and soft brushes of Ecotools ,and with those 2 tools I can cover all my imperfections without being too noticeable, although it takes a while but it is worth it

I like make up but for some reason I always hated to feel it on my skin. I’ve never worn foundation, I can bear eye makeup and some types of lip products but that’s about it. I learned your pinpoint technique years and years ago, when it was quite the novelty in the beauty world and I never left it since. I loved so much! In Brazil, we love a heavier makeup than many other countries, so even when the makeup youtubers do that "no makeup makeup" is a lot of product and the layers, you can see there's makeup. This is the first video where actually don't seem you have makeup!

Ughh I just love a good nude lip to bring the face back to life. We all have that same lip shade at a certain age naturally and a lipstick can enhance them back to life so much! I do also love the brown nudes though.

Thank you, Lisa! I used to do this for high school (strict Catholic no makeup rules) and later on, This is England 88. When I arrived for my first day's filming and they insisted "No makeup" as 4k had only just come in and quite rightly wanted a genuine 88 feel and my character would have not been allowed makeup.
I used a tiny bit of Revlon foundation mixed with Oil of Olay and a tiny brush directly in the Max Factor panstick for a hormonal friend. No blush, but most scenes gave me a flush. Vicky and I are so pale, I pinched my cheeks before a scene so I didn't look as ill.
Like you said, powder would be seen, so I had some Body Shop blotting paper and kept shine away with that. Brushed eyebrows, curled lashes. No mascara and chapstick. Blotted again.
The end result was wonderful! Then I stupidly went and ate Eggs Benedict, and most of it came off with the Hollandaise!

This video is so helpful. Having looked at a lot of "no makeup" looks over the years, the artistry of the spot concealing, as well as the soft shadow as a barely perceptible liner were great new tips for me. And the matte lip on top of balm for subtle color. Thank you!

Lisa, I just love your looks and the fact that your approach has always been to have a light hand and look more naturally beautiful. I am going to be a mother of the groom this summer and I will have to do my own makeup for the wedding. I'm a bit nervous, even though I have learned so much from you over the years. I know you did a tutorial about 7 years ago on mother of the bride. I was wondering if you would consider doing another video like that one. For anyone with hyperpigmentation, a color correcting product is a must! I usually color correct around my mouth and under eyes & can do a light veil of tinted sunscreen all over.

Beautiful, this is what I looked for years, no makeup makeup tutorials are just evident makeup but with no eyeliner
The queen of skin makeup.
What I feel makes a big difference for me aswell is:
1. just a tiny bit of color correcting with a concealer just slightly more orangey for the undereyes, or slightly darker for pimples (can also be used to "contour" the pimples away afterwards as Lisa taught us) before the actual concealing;
2. and then kind of add any faded beauty marks back in with a brown pencil, aswell as turn any visible pimples into new beauty marks like Desi Perkins did in one video.
Thanks for the update on this look Lisa. It's been my go to look for some time now and I have become a master pin point concealer. I think it looks nice and fresh on my 53 year old skin and makes me feel more confident. Just struggling a bit with blue veins under my eyes. Velvet muse has become my favourite for 💋 and cheeks. ❤ xx

Your no make up look is my go to everyday look. I have several medical conditions so it helps me look 'human' when I leave the house. I love the tips on tightlining and using concealer at the outer corners of the eye. I will be trying them, thank you.

This changed my life 🤩 I love makeup so much that I tend to overdo it. I love that now I can still spend a good long time on technique and precision if I want, but I don’t end up looking like a clown when alls said and done. Lisa you are the best of the best.

Today early in the morning someone from reddit recommended this channel when I searched for “how to learn make makeup”, because for 30 years of my life time I have not engaged any practices in self care, including the makeup and how to make myself look better. Now I make mind to beautify myself and start learning the make up, so I sort your videos from “the oldest”, bc I simply want to learn from scratch. But OMG your earliest video is 14 years ago when I was only in grade 10, a 17-year-old teenager! I should have discovered you 14 year earlier…it is impressive that you can put your effort into this channel for this long time and the amazing thing is that you are still so productive. Now I’m probably at the age when you started this channel, I hope this not too late for me.

This technique is exactly just what i needed, thank you ,Lisa! I don't wear foundation as i think it looks too obvious on me and i don't like the idea of a layer of paint all over my face! But what I have started to do is mix a tiny bit of CC cream in with my moisturiser and it works a treat for me. Having said that, I always have to have eyes and lips done or else I just look ill! Thank you so much for showing us your methods, I've learned so much from you. ❤

Lots of great tips, thank you. Please could you do a video of how to visually balance up the appearance of unsymmetrical eyes. After experiencing one sided facial paralysis I’ve played around with eye makeup but the results always make the problem look worse.

My best no make up look starts the night before with your divine cleanser. Then I can do some of your foundation here and there and Rose Official on my cheeks, lips, even eyelids. A bit of mascara and here we go!
