Lisa, I just wanted to say how much you mean to me and how much I appreciate you. When I was 15 I just was getting into makeup. I just had a lipstick and a black eyeshadow that I used as an eyeliner. Even applying these two my mom would say that my makeup was too much and that she did NOT approve. One day I googled "how to do a makeup that doesn't look like makeup", I came across your "No-Makeup Makeup" video, and I just fell in love with you and your philosophy on what makeup should do. I watched that video over and over, not knowing much english and not knowing much about makeup. You were my introduction to makeup, and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. This was about 7 years ago, I'm now 22. I'm so much better at makeup, I never got into unnecessary, unflattering trends. I learnt to love my face and how to enhance my own features instead of hiding them. It's all thanks to you, through you I learnt to love my face :* (Sorry this is all over the place)
Aaah! Similar story, I found Lisa when I was 16, and here I am at 27! I just watched her video less than an hour after she released it 😅😂. ❤️ for you guys!
Lisa helped me in a similar way. I'm a guy who like makeup and I was trying to do what influences were doing and it looked horrible always (imagine that), whereas Lisa's content was a real education that helped me learn what I could to enhance my features without my face screaming MAKEUP.
Lisa's channel is one of the few left where the tutorial ACTUALLY teaches you how to achieve the look and i love all the little tips she gives us to make it work on ourselves too!
You're like the Bob Ross of the beauty industry. Such a joy to watch, calming and beautiful work. Really hope we can get your products again soon in the EU X
I'm so happy you uploaded this 'old school' kind tutorial, Lisa! Very calming and definitely a gem. I also really appreciate that we can see the skin texture on your eyelids. I know it's weird to say but it's really nice to see makeup without over-blurred filters 🥰
Been loving your BBC show! The production is amazing, I love the focus on social history and how you relate the makeup and beauty trends of the past to modern times

One of the most beautiful things about Lisa's tutorials is that they are quite universally applicable -- the insta make-up trends (whether you genuinely like them or not) are sometimes harder to pull off on East Asian features, especially the cut-crease and false lashes. Whereas I find Lisa's tutorials on evening, event and editorial looks can work on my face well enough, or at least she includes tips on how to adapt the look to your personal features.

Love the tips that you give because it was exactly the mistakes I am making. I am commenting so I can remember to follow it for next time 1) do not follow the socket with the dark colour because the socket generally goes down instead lift the brush a bit upward to open up the eye 2) yellow based concealer under the eye to put an end to the smokey eye look and accentuate the makeup 3) start with a base colour rather neutral 4) do not darken the eyebrow because that competes with the eyeshadow

Gorgeous makeup (eye) look), Lisa. Looking back at the makeup looks I've ever done/eyeshadow shades that I've used, I now realize that I've mostly used brown shades in 80% of the time.
Lisa, I have always admired your artistry, which a lot of times in grounded in restraint. When you apply contour, it doesn't look like you smeared soot under your cheeks. When you use highlighter, we don't see glittery white stripes that look like the landing markings on an airport runway under your eyes. Your foundation and coverage products, even if there are several layers of it, never look like one could scoop them with a spoon. I adore RUclips so I can discover new products...but watching the techniques of so many "beauty gurus", it is obvious the there's no depth of knowledge in many of them, no discernment of what would be appropriate to wear on stage as a theater actor vs. what one should look like going to work as a nurse or attending a Sunday afternoon BBQ at a friend's house. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
lisa, you are such a sweet person, you are making difference, you are a great example to others, you are more helpful than you realize, you are really something special and you are even better than a unicorn because you are real. you deserve a big hug right now💜
Thank you for the lovely smokey eye. I've also watched all three of your Make Up History episodes and was absolutely entranced. Hoping there'll be more . . .

Hi Lisa, loved the video! Brown smokey eye is always my go to. I would love to see a video with Dua maybe recreating one of the colorful looks you’ve done on her in the last year. Sending you love from Italy xx
Loved the series. Watched it on RUclips. I’m in USA. It was so interesting how each period had an effect on makeup. If you are ever in Little Rock Arkansas there is a purse museum, which shows women’s history thru their purses. Fascinating! Especially liked the twenties since we are in a parallel place it seems. I await your new products with joyful anticipation. Can’t wait, new blush, lip gloss and highlight for summer. You’re the best!💗

Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
lisa, you are such a sweet person, you are making difference, you are a great example to others, you are more helpful than you realize, you are really something special and you are even better than a unicorn because you are real. you deserve a big hug right now💜
Dear Lisa, thank you for explaining how to work with the shades in the outer corner of the eye and lift it. 🧡
Thank you for the lovely smokey eye. I've also watched all three of your Make Up History episodes and was absolutely entranced. Hoping there'll be more . . .
To me you are the best in the industry Lisa! And the fact that you're a really kind human being adds to your charme :)
I just absolutely adore you! I was an executive for Estée Lauder for many years and used your tips myself and to teach my team constantly. I have watched you for a long time! If I wasn’t a single unemployed Mama I would buy ever makeup product and at least 1 ring from you! I have treated myself to a lipstick in Jazz when they came out and love it! 💕
Hi Lisa, loved the video! Brown smokey eye is always my go to.
I would love to see a video with Dua maybe recreating one of the colorful looks you’ve done on her in the last year.
Sending you love from Italy xx
I can watch your videos forever and ever, I learn a lot and your voice is so relaxing!!!
I can’t even contain how excited I am about the BLUSHES!!!!! Omg!!! This is going to hurt my wallet...blush is my weak spot ❤️😬❤️😬!!!
