I’m older than you and the older I get the more I find is less is more. I look older with more makeup on specifically foundation. This video is perfect and easy to follow and modify for anyone. Thanks! And yes I’d love to see more videos like this. You are always so easy to watch and informative.

Yes, less is more, 59 yrs old here. I have found that a good hydrating serum is the way to go for me. Plumps up the skin, a good mineral sunscreen and a drop of air flash. I get comments on my skin all the time.
I just got the Nars skin tint moisturizer. I’ve gotten several compliments this week about how beautiful my skin is!
I became obsessed with watching makeup videos because I noticed in pictures that I didn't look as cute as I used to with my typical makeup routine. I used to wear black liquid eyeliner and now I never touch it as it looks so harsh on me now! I've learned a lot from you and Angie on how to wear makeup as I became 40. I am very thankful for your videos!!

I turned 50 and living in a hot humid climate. Thank you😊 for this. Always good to have this in my arsenal. Although it has more steps than my daily routine, definitely going to do this when I have to go out with friends.

I'm 53 not but I have had years of taking care of my skin and people never think I'm older. However I'm not good at making makeup look natural! I really think it's hard to pull off!

Oh my goodness I needed this. I have dark hereditary circles I also have freckles and of course getting up there in age and found that most "over 40" makeup looks don't apply to me with everything I had. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to try this out.
I have started multitasking my products especially my conceiler.. I use my conceiler as my foundation as well. As I have gotten older, I have started using tinted moisturers and conceiler for lighter days. I also more picky when it comes to my eyeshadow..I have hooded eyes and have to use a certain technique to make sure they don't appear downtowned. I have noticed with myself lately the less the better and easier for me. Bronzer is another thing I picky on. I absolutely love natural ones like the one from Too Faced Natural Face palette. Love your tutorial and tips. Great tip on my powder with blush. I have dry skin and own that powder.

New to your channel and subbed today !!! Love these tips I’m 45 and I find also less is more . Tinted moisturizer is always a must as well as a color corrector and literally 1 dab of concealer . I also use the bronzer as an eye shadow . Right now I’m loving both the Fenty cream bronzer and blush I tap the blush also over the bridge of my nose and I feel it takes some years off my face . It’s translucent.. A positive with makeup in this age bracket I save a ton of money as there are so many palette and foundations I simply don’t need anymore .
The older I get (43 in June) I find that the less is more approach definitely looks better. I used to be a full coverage foundation girl, but these days it’s just too much and settles in all the fine lines. I love a good tinted moisturizer these days, and really can’t use much, if any concealer at all. I also steer clear of using a lot of powder. When I use powder I go for stuff like the elf halo glow powder. My worst area is my forehead, I have the 11’s and a good bit of expression lines on my forehead so I put very little product up there. This look came out beautifully. I’ll have to try some of these products and techniques. 💕

Lately I’ve really been enjoying the Rose Inc serum skin tint for my weekend no makeup makeup days. Evens out my complexion and adds some life to my skin. I was especially surprised and happy with the longevity. I wore it to work one day and at the end of the day my skin still looked fabulous- I wasn’t expecting that. And my days are pretty active with a lot of outdoor time teaching kindergarten…….

I took a lot from this video, Stephanie, but #1 was "as we get older things may not work like they did when we were younger." Amen! Not only have I changed my choice in products and how I apply them, but I've also changed my foundation shade. Am I the only one who has seen a change in the undertone of the skin as I've gotten older (72)? In my younger years (20s-early 60s) I wore neural with pink undertone foundations. Now I'm neutral or neutral with slightly warm undertone. Some brands with a neutral slightly pink undertone will still work. No, I don't have a health issue that would change my skin tone 😊. But maybe it's the sun damage popping up more and more.. Kind of like connect the dots! 😉 (That might be funny if it wasn't close to the truth 😄). From my experience, you young women will be making many changes in makeup and application every decade or so. I will never go without it, though, no matter how old I get!
P. S. Off topic. Finished Ozark last night and am so sad that it has ended! Loved that Netflix show! Watching "Flight Attendant" on HBO now. Another super good series!!

I like the way you applied your blush and bronzer. For awhile now we’ve been told ( we meaning women over 40) to apply our blush higher up on the cheekbone to show a lift. I think over the nose and under the eyes helps make my under eyes not so dark. I have trouble with hollowed eyes also.

I love it! That's how I like to do my everyday makeup recently, using tinted sunscreen instead of foundation. I'm also in my mid forties and I really think less is more 😉.
"Using the spoolie too early!!!!" Thank you for finally enabling me to realize what the heck I've been consistently doing wrong with my brows - that was it. I was using the spoolie too early. Now that I've changed that one simple thing, it's so much better!!
I'm 45 and your no-makeup makeup look is similar to mine (though I really need to get that Kopari balm!). I use the No.7 Tinted Skin Perfecter which does an AMAZING job blurring my pores and just evening out my skin beautifully. I wear it every day as a primer, but just wear this with concealer on NMU days. I also love the Bobbie Brown color corrector, or sometimes I use the Maybelline Age Rewind eye brightener. I'm a little fairer than you are (so I do have to blend that skin tint out, particularly at my hairline because it's a smidge dark on me but it buffs out well) so that brightener can do double duty as concealer. Set with a little bit of powder and the face is done and looks pretty natural! I usually use my Flower Beauty bronzer both on my cheeks, and use it on my eyes in much the same way you did with your cream bronzer. A few swipes of elf Wow Brow, a couple coats of my Thrive mascara and some tinted lip balm (elf Lip Core Shine in Happy is my fave) and I am good to go. I don't generally worry about eyeliner but sometimes if I need a little something else in the eye area I'll grab a smidge of a champagne eyeshadow and using my pinky or a small brush and I'll pop a little in the inner corners to brighten things up.

Wayne Goss used a Nars bright blush similar to the Covergirl one you used. I figured if it would look natural on a man, it would also look natural sun kissed on me even though I am VERY mature. Because you go gentle with this kind of color, it will last for years. I love it!

I am going to pick up a few more products after viewing this; especially the Kopari eye balm. I am ALWAYS picking up ideas to help my under eye and inner corners with darkness that seems to get darker as I get older😂.

I’m 45. Never really wore makeup but now I NEED it and have no idea how to do it! This was very helpful! Tytytytyty!!! You are so good at this! Can you just come over and do my makeup please?! 😅
One of the foundations that I found to look very natural and like skin is the Mac pressed powder. Sometimes I put itmon topmof a tinted moisturizer or a liquid highlighter to add some radiance. I also apply a spray.on liquid primer before I add foundation and after setting powder. After finishing powder I put a setting spray on. This helps my makeup to last all day. I also use the YVL all over concealing brightening pen or the one by Mac. It adds more light to the face and helps foundation look more natural.
This is the time of year (including today) that I pull out Revolution Pro Creme Skin Perfector. I’m not even sure if they still make this but it’s perfect for the kind of look you’ve described. I use the shade medium (I’m your shade twin btw).

Love this video! I stumbled on the FASTEST brow product ever - and it's cheap. Have you tried Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Lift? It's a fat, soft, waxy crayon on one end that goes on very diluted (but buildable, no "light hand" required) and then a brush for shaping on the other end. Swear I've got decent brows in like 60 seconds. I'm a fan. This may pull me off my Kosas brow products.

I am similarly 'blessed' in the brow department and I have found the Nyx lift and snatch brown pen easier than the MAC because the colour I use (ash brown) is not as dark. This means I am less likely to be heavy handed. I'd be interested to know if you've tried it xx

I put a pore blurring primer on and then kind of spot conceal the face with the Hourglass stick foundation really light handed. A bit concealer under the eyes set with KVD brightening under eye powder and then some MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation all over for a bit of extra coverage and skin tone balancing and I am done with the base. I find the older I get the worse full on foundation looks like.

I am so new to attempting to use makeup over 40. I have purchased many of your suggested products. Your video has helped tremendously! I noticed you use the setting powder at 13:33 and later a finishing powder. Is the setting powder to use after foundation and bases? I wasn't sure why you would use a setting powder before any blush or other products. I thought setting & finishing were essentially the same thing and used as a final touch. Thanks!
