HELLO GOOD MONDAY! WASSUP?
WASSUP OLA HOW YOU DOIN!?
In work listening to Freak Kitchen 😅
Wassups Skwissgaars
WASSSUPPPPPP
It's your neighbours National Day, how could you have forgotten??
Ah yes, the physical phenomenon of chug, first described by Hans Chugner in 1892. So proud to be German.
This checks out.👍
“What if we make this guitar sounds like my name?” - Hans Chugner
Yes, finally we can be proud again 😂
Cousin of that guy who died hard falling from that LA skyscrappa
I'm half German and a Guitarist for over 35 years making Guitars Chug and Chugging Beers was my life's work !!
Even ukulele will be chuging if you plug it to Engl Savage
This needs to be tested
we will soon test that with my Souther cross uke ;)
@@stephansbassment4619 hahaha! I saw that on the fb group! Can't wait!!
chugulele
This is what I was going to comment, but with "piano" or "violin" instead. For real.
My first electric guitar that I bought with my own money was a Randy Rhoads Jackson. Still plays like a dream.
Iv'e got the Rhoads JS32T with SD hot rodded pickups and it wails!!!
mine too. a JS30RR back in 2005.
First one I bought with my own money was a Jackson King V and I can’t use anything else now
@@nathanwichman5114 I've got the Rhoads JS32T offset V , but I threw in SD's hotrodded pickups like Randy used. Now it's a keeper and shreds. Now if I could only play like him🤔....
I picked mine up...and I had to thank Sweetwater for sending it to me ...it's a riot to play, and works well with iOS interfaces and apps....and I have no complaints and it is going to live among my other guitars ....holding its own.....love your shows and playing for years now OLA--*****
Instead of playing crazy train, I will play the mildly unstable train when I got this guitar
Just fit thicker strings and you'll be fine. If you match the tension you normally play with then it will be the same as normal. Scale length only makes a very slight difference.
That's way funnier than it has any right being
@@ChrisDanger807 That poor little truss rod!
Scale length is actually very important for the feel as well, just feel the difference between a Tele and a LP, but as you say you can balance it out fairly well with string gauge. What you can't fix with thicker strings is intonation though. You need longer scales for correct intonation, especially for lower tunings
Ha! Ha! Ha!
Mentally questionable locomotive
I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. I just installed a set of EMG Zakk Wylde 81/85's and threw some 12 - 56 strings on it, tuned to C standard and it plays, and sound much better. Keeps tuning better. A full set up is next to really get it right. It is a fun little travel guitar 😁
does 12-56 strings really make it stay in tune? even if i bend the string? how bout the pitch?
Curious about that too, I would think of using 12s for standard tuning on such a small scale, I've heard that gives a 9s kind of feeling on a full scale guitar.
Much love Ola should see if a mic'd banjo will chug
Look up Rob Scallon! ;)
@Jeo Barlomento southern chug is dimebag in a nutshell
@Jeo Barlomento fuck yea🤟 Getcha pull
Do Solar guitars make banjos?
Why yes oh yes it does!! I was gifted one of these little mini minions in a lime green finish. This little thing shocked the hell out of me with it’s tone! Ran it through a Boss Katana MK 1 and ended up loving this thing! I have given it to my girlfriend who I’m teaching how to play and she says it fits her tiny fingers much better than my other guitars. Jackson guitars all around rule! Ola thanks for all the awesome content. Hands down my favorite guitar channel on RUclips!
Now do an all mini setup.
Mini guitar, mini bass, mini amp, mini pedals and make a song lol
That's a good idea wow.
Mini drum kit too
I have all that stuff. That will be a great bit for my noise channel. Any models with FRs? Can't justify owning a mini bass. Maybe I'll set up a 25.5" scale guitar with bass strings and call that a mini bass. I think I need a mini-er amp.
1:36 BEAMS OF FIRE SWEEP THROUGH MY HEAD!
The day my wife and I found out we were having a baby, that same day I bought one of these mini guitars. So literally, it was my boy's first toy, he's 2 years old now by the way.
Did you teach him to chug yet?
@@BananaManPL He loves to randomly hit the strings, to turn the knobs and play with the toggle switch, so I think he is on the right way haha
Awesome!
👍🤘
Great parenting, right there! 👌😁
I actually love short scale, mini guitars. They're shred machines.
I love playing a 25.5" guitar for a while then switching to my JS1X. It makes me feel like I'm a shred legend with giant hands, lol!
I got one and my friends can't keep their hands off it.
@@yucatansuckaman5726 My friends are the same way. They're all drawn towards the lime green short scale V. They're a fun little toy. Sure, the build quality isn't the best, but for $150, who cares? A minor setup and it's good to go. I put Seymour Duncan pickups in mine (a SH2 and SH4) and it sounds pretty good! Is it a stage worthy instrument? Definitely not. Is it even good for studio work? Also no. For noodling around though, it's great!
so this would be a good choice for a 5'5" woman with very short fingers who likes to play rhythm?
You've been a really great inspiration to me, Ola! You helped expand my horizons on music genres like Metal, and you're one of the reasons I love to pick up a guitar and play it. Thank you, Ola, and good Monday!
Very nice compliment 👌 💪😎👍
Hello Today! I have a 1990's Jackson Kelly Pro V. Very nostalgic. Yes it chugs.
Nice to see you with a Jackson, we need more.
Fittingly, that mini guitar would look normal sized on Randy Rhoads lol.
Truth! He was pint sized , but unbelievable. I saw him on the Diary of a madman tour , front row. It was my first concert at 15 , Randy was amazing. Since then iv'e seen Ozzy solo and with Sabbath over 25 times \m/
@@mikeg.9238 that's amazing! You're very lucky, a lot of people would have wanted that experience. I think he's incredible too, did you know he was special at the time? Granted you were only 15. I've seen Ozzy twice, I watched him with Zakk (my favourite guitarist) on the Black Rain tour and again got the chance to meet Ozzy at a signing for the Scream tour. When I met Ozzy, I was part of the Randy Rhoads forums at the time, and I always wanted to know if they could release the unfaded versions of Randy's solos (like Mr. Crowley and Tonight) so I asked Ozzy and he goes "what do you mean unfaded?" I explained how the solos fade while Randy is still playing and he says "Well we're re-releasing those albums soon" which kind of answered the question. I asked to speak to a couple of his crew members (including Tony, his right hand man) who directed me to two other people near by, they seemed very interested in the idea, and what do you know, some time after, that video of Ozzy hearing the lost Randy solo turns up! I hope I'm somewhat responsible for that!
@@ShinyShinyIsAlwaysBeingSerious Yes looking back now I realize how lucky I was and part of me wished I wasn't as trashed" but that's how it was in the 80's , a very blurry decade , haha. But a lot of fun and concerts , anyway you're wicked lucky to have met the madman! I've always wanted to meet him , him and Sabbath have been my favorite for over 40yrs. I did meet Lemmy once though , at a strip club connected to the venue they were playing at. We drank a picture of beer , he was a wicked cool dude and down to earth , no ego bullshit. If you ever watched the Ozzy and Jack world detour show , there's a segment where Ozzy goes to Iron mountain where his recordings are preserved and he's listening in amazement to Randy outtakes that no one including him ever heard. Randy is just shredding after the song's end on the album versions. It's wicked cool , you should check it out✌🤘🎸
Ever see a Jackson Rhoades on a BIG dude, 7 foot tall big? Google Image Search Lord K Phillipson, if he has long hair and a black Jackson you've found it! (Nice dude too!)
Happy Monday boss
There's a guy in a local band where I live who plays one of these as his main instrument. He plays it in D standard and strings it up with .014 - .070.
He brought the guitar to me to level the frets down to about .035" so it wouldn't as easily pitch bend with aggressive playing.
I thought it was a joke, but it sounds great in the context of his band, and hilariously the guy is 6'3" and about 275lbs
Hah
I've a JS32. Always loved the Rhoads shape and bought my JS32 as it was pretty cheap. Great guitar for a beginner like me
That shape is the only V style guitar I would buy. You liking that JS32 a lot?
i have the JS11, alot of guitar for only £160! as long as you have it setup properly and with a good amp you have no problems playing shows or recording
Cheap Jacksons have about the best build quality in the sub $500 class, but cheap Ibanez play the best.
I just got a JS12, for $120, because the point was chipped off the headstock.
@@springbloom5940 alot of people say LTD are unbeatable for what you get for cheap, but im a jackson man. i have the KV EMG too
Wow! Your picking hand is great!
Throw some nasty pickups in this thing and you've definitely got a sleeper guitar with some serious tonal capabilities
That thing already has nasty pickups. ~17k ceramic humbuckers.
@@springbloom5940 nah I mean like some bareknuckles or duncan blackouts
@@PenguinzFTW
You wouldn't notice the difference. The ones that are in it are already thick and veiny.
I have one of these with a Seymour Duncan SH4 in the bridge and a SH2 in the neck. It's a BIG difference from the stock pickups. It's such a fun little instrument to goof around with!
Imma take it a step further and put a Floyd Rose special in there, along side some black winters for pickups
Have owned one for couple years, done some customisations to it. Recently went full mad scientist with it and installed P90 into it. This thing is just absolute godsend for players like me with short stubby fingers, and it's very versatile for some oldschool rock stuff too.
Does thicker string gauge solves the problem with 'hard grip' tuning stability, which he is talking about?
Man, the guy who runs Solar Guitars isn’t going to like you playing a Jackson.😒
Yes, Louise will be furious at Ola
@@amitabhkunchey9342 the company is OWNED by ola
I know that Kirky Mcgoo, it was a joke that LOUISE is the one who runs solar guitars while Ola gooofs around xD, chill xD
@@amitabhkunchey9342 alright 👍 ( insert redit joke here)
@@Idan_the_guitarist2603 woosh
I just got one of these 2 weeks ago. I found it at a pawn shop for 75 bucks and was like damn thats a steal and didnt realize it was a mini til after i bought it lol. Its fun to play and it helps you develope a light touch since you will Sharp the notes if you press hard. I gave it to my 10 yr old son
I always wanted to teach him to play and this guitar is perfect for a kid and looks awesome
I tested this on my 13 year old Spider Amp and it still chugs pretty good even on the Spider. It’s a fun little guitar that surprised me. Good purchase
Oh you damn right it does 🤘! I've got a neon green one myself and it's a blast to play.
Made an amazing addition to my rhoads fleet.
He has his own sound. The markings of a great player. Once someone can tell it’s you on any rig you have achieved the goal.
Oh no, you have entered the tone wood debate...
@@tobins6800 never speak of that again!! Lol
@@ericbrewerguitar1499 yeah just trolling. I do agree with OP. Ola would sound the same on electric and acoustic, as well as another poster, put anything thru that amp and it'll chug.
@@tobins6800 I agree as well.
I bought this guitar for my five year old a few months ago! Perfect guitar to get your kid into metal! \m/
I've done at least 2 albums on JS series Jacksons. They'll usually feel a little cheap to the player, but they'll also look good and sound better.
Keep up the good work, Ola. I like how you compare the guitar with a regular size guitar and telling the difference when you pick the strings. Nice one :) You are good at explaining the gear you try out.
I have 2 shortscale guitars, and solved the tuning problem by tuning them higher while keeping my preferred staring gauges (09-46): one to G and the other even to A!
They are fun, and sound fine :)
I have the green one and take that guitar everywhere with me when I’m working away from home, great video ola, I also put heavier strings on it when I got it
It’s good for kids to learn on because they have a hard time pushing hard enough on the strings... so it probably works out perfect for them!! 🤘🤘
There's a serious art to being able to play Jackson Rhoads guitars sitting down, like an exclusive club lol
It's not anywhere near as difficult as people make it out to be. Just use the classical position and everything is good to go!
@@tenhundredkills shhh, don't reveal our secret. First rule of Rhoads club... 😆
It's actually easier but people like pretending things are harder
I think you've answered the expensive amp or expensive guitar question. An expensive amp+talent... makes almost any guitar sound great.
Only definite thing you learn in a few RUclips reviews. 👍🎸😉
"It is a little hard for me to kinda get my fingers in" ~Ola the Swede, 2021
I've always wanted one of those little Jacksons! Wicked 😈
I had one of those in white. Previous owner put SD Invaders in it, threw on some locking tuners, 12-60 strings and a new nut.
Needless to say, it too could chug.
I'm 5'6" and have a baritone Flying V and its nearly as tall as I am, so this might be go for me!!
Love the picking at 3:11.....
The critical consumer in me wishes you'd pair the affordable guitar with an affordable amp, but then again the real reason we are all watching these is just to hear Ola chug, so it really doesn't matter.
Man... I love that opening riff to The Flood! Finally got a good angle of you playing it here... Maybe... just MAYBE I can learn to play it!
Amazing guitar! Have a bright yellow one, put a set of bareknuckle brute force in it. Sounds amazing 🤘
Cheers Ola, have a great week !
They were selling this for the low at a local shop. Hands are small so figured it’d be fun to get a smaller cheap guitar. Hooked it up to my boss katana, added some .11 gauges & she definitely chugs. Love this lil thing so much especially when all the other Jackson’s I want are super expensive
I want 1 of these too...
@@clintwilson6380 I don’t think u can go wrong. It’s a fun Jackson v for almost dirt cheap & if you have smaller hands it’s super easy to play. Only the frets get a little too small the higher I go
3:05 I thought you were going to play "The Devil in I" by Slipknot 😅😅😅
It's always a good day when a new Will It Chug debuts🙌
Boy I can't wait for jackson to release a baritone version of this guitar! /s
I wouldn't mind one of these with a 24" scale like a Mustang.
I guess the baritone version of this wold have a Gibson scale length?
Oh yes! There was the Dinky 27”, but a Rhoads 27” would be a serious elongation to any mans dreams.
@@vladv5126 correct, although jackson also makes some guitars with 25.5", right?
@@plumbummusic2051 yes but not the mini ones.
i'm so excited that my first jackson is gonna be this model
Ola please post a playthrough (with tabs) of "The Flood" 🙏
Which is an amazing song!

1:35 that is a sick Riff imma try that
(Edit ) i failed .. but still sick
Song name please?
wow very nice sound
just bought it recently and it is my first guitar, I love it so much and it look so cute because it so tiny, also it pretty suit for me as a tiny person😂❤
I have the jackson minion bass. Murdered out with a 5 string setup in D; I love it
Ola i have the same giutar in istfucccin g sick
Giant Ola video!!!
Ola your the man!!!
mini guitars like the minion and mikro are so sick if you throw some railroad spike gauge strings on them
More jackson!
Getting mine tomorrow
Definetly chuggin!! Thank you Ola
I need this! 🤘I just wait for my son to grow up. At age 4, he still needs to learn to play his first guitar (guitalele) to justify buying another guitar.
Luv the minis
I have one. They're a lot of fun.
I guess we need a solar mini v with an evertune!
Hey Ola! Greetings from the Philippines 🤘🤘
I wonder if he'll ever demo a Filipino made guitar product. Maybe something like the Rabatech Omega Drive pedal or one of the guitars by SQOE
Of course it will! My son has one and for the price it is fucking amazing
My daughter wants one of those ..I may buy one so I can try it though my rig .
That little Jackson sounds good
These guittars are great for those who have small fingers for me it's easy to play stretchy riffs
Hello from Poland Ola!
I think that replacing the strings with a better set (maybe EB Slinky?) And the appropriate intonation setting (the height of the strings above the first fret) and a full setup with adjustment of gauges - will significantly improve the intonation of this guitar. I did it in my son's 3/4 scale Junior superstrat from HB and it turned out to be MY favorite guitar to practice on the couch and while traveling hahaha ...
Sometimes the weakest link in such guitars can be tuners and pickups, but these can be easily replaced.
I have one of these that I use with my orange crush 35rt I’m actually amazed that it sounds so good considering the price
Jackson pickups are surprisingly really good imo.
Yeah they didn't skip on that.
No offense to Solar guitars, but I'm a Jackson lifer! I have quite a few Jacksons, and a few Charvels. I love them all, full blown shred machines.
One time I saw the Vandals live and the guitar player whipped out a mini guitar like that and said "you guys wanna hear a little guitar?"
Warren Fitzgerald can fuckin shred too.
@@jeremyrafuse5330 Yes he can!
A blast as Always, and I'm loving the new album! Got the Compact Disc in my car :D Kids may, and I emphasize, MAY know it as a CD
I like the stock Jackson pick up in their cheaper guitars I also like Jackson lower-end because they kick ass
So I took mine (Got the Neon Yellow) originally got it for my daughter and she abandoned it (She’s 10 she may grow to it later) so I decided to tear apart and GO CRAZY ON UPGRADES LOL gut out all the electronics, put some Seymour Duncan Alpha&Omega Mark Holcomb signature pair,Schaller 5 way super switch(Can split the coils and have them parallel),Seymour Duncan Liberator,Popped some Sperzel Hot Pink locking tuners with Pearl buttons,Hot Pink Pickups Mounting rings,Hot Pink Dimarzio Strap lock,a Good stable set up,oh and I’ll be replacing the 40MM standard plastic nut to a Bone nut and you’ll get a stable shredding Mini Machine for Sure!!!Lol

Game Time... You have a Boss Metal Zone MT-2 (original not Waza Craft) a Digitech Death Metal and a Danelectro Black Coffee Metal Distortion. Which 2 do You sell and which 1 do You choose to keep for eternity? These are Your ONLY options. And GO!
Just bought it for my 5yo daughter!!
I find that most of the guitars I play now are mid range and low-end Ibanez and Jackson's and I have a bullet HSS Strat that is amazing I also have high-end guitars in cases that do nothing
Its no longer a brand or price game, i had PRS and Gibson, sold them and play 3 cheap guitars, a Yamaha Pacifica 311H, Jackson JS32Q and a Harley benton SC-Custom II very good guitars all together for less than a low end Gibson or a PRS SE... besides an expensive guitar will not make you a better musician!!
1:43 what song is that? Aways catch my ear wtf
Nice Combo!😉
Looking forward to the Coffee W/Ola featuring Link
I mean, when you play as good as you do man.... it really doesn't matter what Guitar you play hahahaha.... But honestly to a beginner, this "toy" doesn't sound bad at all ! looks very well built.
Suggestion for video: Compare the Epiphone Pee Wee, This Jackson Minion,Blackstar Carry- On and other micro guitars... They look fun to play and are small, look nice enough for people who live small apartments. Was looking to get one and pair with a Marshall Ms2. I am no Pro, just looking to have some fun on my spare time...
Will there NOW be Solars I can buy for the kids? Short scales are sht fun to play :)
I like this hockey stick
My son just opened one of these as an Xmas present. I've noticed at the longer end of the body/fin there is quite a big defect. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to look this way, like a worn look, but don't see it on any of these wee guitars online.
Awesome guitar for a beginner metalhead
jackson fantastique
Very cool!
I've been wondering this ever since I first saw them
Ola, try the randall rx15m for the will it chug.
I was so totally surprised when this guitar and amp combination chugged. Wow.. Did not see that coming.
so what you’re saying is you expected an engl and jackson to not chug? like what are you saying?
I bought a minion last year because my 5 year old wanted to start playing guitar. For a cheap and sort of silly guitar, it sounds pretty badass through a good amp. Not fitting for those of us with large hands though. Hard for me to play on. The lil' man rips it up though! Guess that's all that matters. He says he's gonna be the next Ola! LOL!!!
Jackson Guitars ❤💪
Will it stay in tune is the real question 🤔
