Sir, you have spoken only about the circumference, there is also an impact of weight of the tyre on the unsprung mass at suspension and hence the performance. So looking at circumference error and taking a decision is a myopic view
You can go for 235s if you just want the biggest set of tyres without putting in any lift kit. But mind you night have to cut a bit of wheel arch flaps to accommodate free turns. Also, won’t recommend extreme off-roading with them
Many Congratulations. Granite Grey looks matured color! Nice tire upgrade 👌... Question please ; from the Math Calculation, the minimum deviation from Stock is actually 225/70R15 as can been seen it's best suitable for Odomoter reading deviation which is negligible, then why did you not select that 225 option? For mileage issue? Or for brand availability options?? What brand do we have in 225/70R15 please... instead of 235 one can actually select the BEST FIT 225
Hi Sanjay, Thanks for the wishes. :) Apparently 225 is not a very commonly available size like 215 or 235. It is one of those sizes where many brands might not have stock available and need to place an order. Thats the reason i went for 215 due to availability.
I am not getting any noise in highway and feels normal. The only problem due to A/T treads, small stones get stuck in the tyres and they make some noise on the road. Need to keep watching for such stones.
Awesome upgrade and an excellent explanation on the choice of 215/75 R15 tyres. What is the Tyre pressure which you are using for off-road and on-road?

if you are in bangalore, check out with Cherry tyres - 99724 98963 for exchange. They offer good price provided the tyre you are exchanging is as good as new. ( Less than 150Kms driven).
Yes, I stay near to Indiranaga. is this the one in BTM ? I will get the Jimny delivery on 21st Oct. Hence looking to change the tyres directly after delivery.
@@IndianTrailExplorer I booked on 25th Jan. Guess I will have to wait a few more weeks. BTW I also booked exact same… granite grey Alpha AT.. I am happy I made a good choice.
Both Yokohoma and Goodyear were in top 5 tyres and are good tyres. Continental CC i liked the treads ,design and based on 4 by 4 SUV users. Also got a good deal for 5 tyres with exchange of stock tyres ( Bridgestone Deuler H/L - 195/80R15). My first preference was to go with BF Goodrich, but it was way above my budget (in bangalore i was given a quote of 21.5K per tyre for BFG - 215/5R15 due to demand-supply issue with BF Goodrich).
I am yet to take on a long drive and off roading due to day to day work pressure. :) ..Did few drives within the city and the driving quality is quite comfortable and did not find any issues with the power based on the limited drive time. However, one thing which is making me feel bit uncomfortable is the road presence and attention the vehicle gets on the road. Any where i stop ,the car is surrounded by Jimny fans and want to get a glimpse of the car and have questions. Basically there is lot of heads turning on the road when Jimny passes. FYI - I did the same to any THAR which goes on road :)
Hello, I got 3K for the stock tyre each. Rs.8200 for upgraded tyre in Bangalore ( balance 5.2 for each tyre i had to pay). included the fitment, balancing..
Congratulations again . Have booked the same colour . Delivery in October. Thanks a bunch for the recommendation and the store . Happy Motoring all of you !
1)Hv u noticed any difference in mileage after changing to this tyre? 2)How does this react to potholes and bumps compared to the stock tyres-the ride quality. 3) How do u feel about the breaking between the 2.
1. After changing to AT , the mileage is around 12 to 13 in highways. There is a slight reduction compared to stock tyre. 2. Upgraded tyre is handling potholes and bumps quite well in comparison with stock tyres. 3. Could not make much difference between the braking. Seems good.
I strongly disagree with this man , jimny is off-road vehicle, there no way maruti designed it for road purpose only so that you can't upsize your tyres more than 2% , bullshit...
@@orange7536 if that's ur logic then why haven't they replaced all the gipsy's with Thar or Scorpio? Think about it. Let that sink in. And sit inside the vehicle once, before talking about it
Congratulations and Thanks, Very informative and useful for Jimny owners.
Thank you and glad that the content was helpful. Good luck.
crucial information for tyre upgrades
Thanks
This man speaks the truth but lotsa people are installing 235 size tires
Thank you for lesson ❤
Finally..!!!Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you !
I have shortlisted CC AT as well, just need to get the car now
Good choice. Hope you get your vehicle soon. All the best.
Me too
How much tyre pressure you maintain on this tyres after upgrade?
Nice info video, how is the wet braking in CC AT? Please let me know. Also why didn't you look at AX6?
Can u please tell tyre pressure which you are using. My jimny is also running on same tyres

Thank you so much 🤗
Very helpful. Thanks. Why did you choose the 215 instead of the 225 since that is also within the margin of safety?
Hi, I tried to get 225 but the availability of 215 was much easier without any wait time, so i went for the 215 as i could not wait for 225.
Makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

I understand your view. Thanks for that. There are many factors to determine the stability and safety of vehicle and OD is one of the primary factors.
Hi sir
After tyre upsize did you felt steering drifting any side (left or right)
I did not observe any significant drift after the upsizing.
Is it safe to upsize the wheel without lifting kit?
Absolutely safe.
@@IndianTrailExplorer what will be the biggest wheel size that can be fitted without lifting kit or any other modification within 15 inches rim size?
You can go for 235s if you just want the biggest set of tyres without putting in any lift kit. But mind you night have to cut a bit of wheel arch flaps to accommodate free turns. Also, won’t recommend extreme off-roading with them

What's your feedback on highway noise and braking with these tyres? Off the road I am sure they will Trump every other tyre below Goodrich.

I had a doubt . Please clear me . If i upsized tyre of my new car then will affect my car warranty and full body insurance??
Upsizing within the permissible limits will not void the warranty and impact the insurance.
