    Informative stuff. Subscribed to your channel 😊. I am considering two options - 215/75 - R15 (Yokohama Geolandar G015) or 225/70 - R15 (Apollo Aptera AT2) as tyre replacements. The latter will be closest to the dia of the stock tyre.

      Hi Around Pune, I agree and am not surprised at the performance of Bridgestone. I personally used Bridgestone Dueler in my scorpio and it came for almost 65,000 Kms without any issue.

    I will go for Apollo Apterra AT. One more you forgot to mention was conticross by continental. Am i right? What about Maxxis and BF Goodrich ? Which will dent mileage in view buddy? My neighbourhood tyre dealer is asking 1700 per tyre for Apollo n 2000 for Yokohama Geolander.

    • @IndianTrailExplorer
      @IndianTrailExplorer  Год назад

      Thanks Surender for this input.
      Continental ContiCrossContact AT comes in the range of Rs. 7550 - Rs.7900 (after discount). No doubt this tyre is good. My personal view was for the same price we can get better brands with good features. So this tyre did not feature in my top 5 :).
      BF Goodrich i have put a screenshot in the video (before tips section) that currently the 215/75R15 and few other sizes are not imported to India due to some import issues. Got this info directly from the customer service of BF Goodrich.
      Regarding Maxxis there is not much content available to research and the tyre dealers feel Maxxis is mostly for highway roads and the price is around 5K for 215/75R15.
      The quote of 1700 or 2000 for a stock tyre (almost new i am guessing) is very low and should do some more dealer hunt in my opinion.
      Good luck.

    Hi
    I’m thinking of putting Yokohama Geolander AT 215/75/R15 to my Jimny next month. But bit confused whether these AT tyres make noise at higher speeds.
    Please let me know your opinion.

      Hi, I have done 3000 Kms in 25 days with AT tyres in Jimny. 95% of it was driving in highways. I have not experienced any noise at higher speeds. ( Note - My high speed is b/w 90km to 100km and not more than that). Also i drive with windows raised at high speed. So far have not seen any issues.

      Hi Shrey, 95% of the Jimny globally have upgraded their tyres to 215 size and the performance provided in their reviews has been very good. In fact there are already many Indian 5 door Jimny owners who have already taken the delivery ( Delhi, Gurgaon, Haryana) are fitting 215 tyres. This would be a good fit. ( Apollo or Contiental or Bridgestone or BF Goodrich) depending on our budget.
      Good luck.

      Hi Abhimanyu, Thanks for sharing this. WOW..This is very coslty.
      I truly hope this is due to dealers who have the stock taking advantage of the situation and jacking up the price. BF Goodrich has officially confirmed that they are not having any new stock due to import issue (temporary problem) pan India.
      Will follow up with BF Goodrich to get some updates on when the tyres could be available.

    Some tyre dealers refuse to buy-back the stock tired of Jimny saying it's an odd size. Has anyone faced the same situation?

    • @IndianTrailExplorer
      @IndianTrailExplorer  Год назад

      Hi Imkong Jamir, Thanks for these inputs. I had the exact same response from Bridgestone dealer - Bangalore ( odd size tyre and not fast moving/sales tyre). My guess is 215/75R15 or 195/80R15 are not fast moving tyres till now from the dealership. Once Jimny hits the road the dealers will have different view of this size as 75% of Jimny owner will go for after market tyres.
      Good luck.

The exchange price for stock tyre Bridgestone 195/80R15 quoted was Rs.15K. I will be soon making a video dedicated to conti cross AT with interview of the tyre dealer about this tyre.

      Hi Vivek,
      I was not able to get any reliable information from official BF Goodrich call center.I have put a note in my video as well. Apparently the 215/75 tyres are not in stock due to some temporary import issue PAN India. Hopefully we will get it soon.
      Some of the dealers who have stock of this tyre are utilizing the situation and demanding high prices.
      My first preference is also BF Goodrich :) . This is the most commonly used tyre for Jimny in Europea and Australia.
