Input / personal hopes for the Phone(3): Glyph update - make the two smallest stripes in the circle RGB and let people assign custom app notification with custom colors to it. Let them blink in the color and then always fade back to white. (for example the reddit app pings a notification - assigned right or left strip lights up orange (or color set by the user), if u see it at the moment you immediately know which app notified you and if it's set to hold the notification it slowly fades back to white so it doesn't mess a bit with the glyphs aesthetic and concept of the monochromatic phone) Them being symmetricial will hide it, if there's an issue with RGB stripes not being able to reach the same peak brightness. Big improvment in useability and it opens the floor for sick new unique animations. - the obvious one: optimize everything possible out of the camera. Otherwise all the changes from phone(1) leveled it up to be perfect in this day and time.

Hey ! Carl... I bought a nothing phone 2 in exchange of an iPhone, despite having been an apple phone. I still love iPad ... First things first.. You have solved a big problem ; how to have an iPhone like no-bullshitting experience at the same time have the flexibilities of an android OS. Plus you have enhanced the overall experience beyond one metric of simplicity. You have done one more thing, you have given a message to the a smartphone users... "Be smart with your lifestyle choices", Nothing phone 2 and perhaps 2a as well now , are such clutter free clean OS and that monochrome UI with numerous customization options helps you do just anything from the home screen itself... Tidy and thoughtful !!
One time for Carl actually acknowledging the forever unsung heroes of tech development: the hardware engineering team! If that doesn't show you how down to earth this company is, Nothing will. ;)
It’s so cool when the ceo himself watches the reviews and try answering questions that viewers have always wanted to know. Also keeps improving the product 🎉

For me that recording red light reeeaaally needs to be added to the flashing notification stuff and more importantly it definitely should be the essential notification period, or at least an option.
I think it's possible that the verge rating was relative to the phones available at that price point. Phone 1 honestly offers the best and refined user experience among all other competitors. But phone 2's price has a lot of good competitors and it's kinda difficult for phones to go very wrong at that price. It's just human nature that people trust a good ol brand more than a new one. However I'm very happy that nothing phones are growing so fast and good, and it will definitely keep improving in the future. I just feel that mid range phones have a much higher chance of growing if it's a comparatively new brand.
I never bought brand new devices, even iPhone XS. Then I decided to go for a brand new one, looked into Amazon, found NP1, and ordered without looking much into specs. It's been 4 months, and I absolutely love this device.

Carl. Congrats on putting out 2 great devices that move the needle as it pertains to Tech innovations. The nothing phone 1 and 2 to me, is what the industry needs. I'm Pristine from Pristine Tech and my channel is on a much smaller scale than the reviewers you featured in this video, but I'm a huge fan of the phone 2 and am glad that it's available in North America. To me, LG was really taking risks and shaking things up in the mobile industry that offered a plethora of new designs and features for the consumer to enjoy. It wasn't always the same old thing like Apple. We share the same sentiment as it pertains to Apple by the way. Sadly, when LG's mobile division tanked, I was wondering what OEM would have the balls to innovate and address how boring and stale the industry has become. Seemingly, every manufacturer plays it safe, which results in minimal changes year to year and the industry is flooded with predictable devices. The Nothing phones 1 and 2 are so refreshing and give us something new and exciting that's different from the rest. I'm subscribed, too, and have watched all these videos you featured in this video, and I've got mixed feelings about their takes. I agree with certain things, and I disagree with the gripes and nit picks, although I respect people opinions. For the average consumer, this is a near perfect device that does all things well. Things will get even better with future updates, so I'm personally happy with it and am looking forward to what's to come. My only gripe is no case or charging brick in the box. It's not a determining factor, just saying.

@@Glade4ofcourse he is going to be defensive about something he's putting his life on to. And I guess you skipped the end, he clearly said that they are going to put the issues found on the reviews on ticket system, so they can be fixed in the future. Now tell me what CEO is gonna do this?
Carl actively collabing with reviewers and youtubers of different countries and watching the reviews, being open about nothing's goods and bads is really good strategy, it creats authenticity which is something our generation craves for, in long term it might be key factor to achieving thier goals
"Different countries"
Most of them are from US anyway, nice try
It is marketing strategy
Input / personal hopes for the Phone(3):
Glyph update - make the two smallest stripes in the circle RGB and let people assign custom app notification with custom colors to it. Let them blink in the color and then always fade back to white.
(for example the reddit app pings a notification - assigned right or left strip lights up orange (or color set by the user), if u see it at the moment you immediately know which app notified you and if it's set to hold the notification it slowly fades back to white so it doesn't mess a bit with the glyphs aesthetic and concept of the monochromatic phone)
Them being symmetricial will hide it, if there's an issue with RGB stripes not being able to reach the same peak brightness.
Big improvment in useability and it opens the floor for sick new unique animations.
- the obvious one: optimize everything possible out of the camera.
Otherwise all the changes from phone(1) leveled it up to be perfect in this day and time.
Hats off to Carl.. no other CEO shown courage to come upfront and explain what's going on with their products. Good job Nothing!
I love how this guy actually cares about the company, the product and the consumers. I hope Nothing reaches heights that other phones haven't touched.

This is pretty awesome. It shows how much he invested in making “Nothing 2” a success, and he wants to improve on that to make it even better.
I’m definitely happy and amazed to see him address the cameras. Really impressive. Mind blown by this level of transparency.
what a humble CEO! I just bought a new iPhone. I’m going to look into the Nothing phone on my next upgrade.
As someone who is so locked into the Apple eco system, I'm really tempted to get the Phone (2) (or maybe 3) as my next phone. No other phone, or company for that matter, has made me want to jump ship more. Kudos to Nothing for making phones interesting again.
I've always bought mid range phones for the last decade and been really happy with them, the Nothing Phone 1 has convinced me to buy a flagship phone as its just awful not even a year in.
I genuinely think my OP 5t is still now a better phone than it.

Nothing is bringing such a refreshing approach to tech. The mix of simplicity and innovation feels like the future we actually want. Keep pushing boundaries-I'm here for every update!
I love how Carl reviews the reviewers. I also like how he mentioned that software trouble tickets have been opened to take care of issues they noticed. So cool to have a ceo actually care about what people want!
I love how Carl listens to the customers as being a CEO, reacts and interacts with the people and if he feels, or someone says that the product has some cons, he does agree and gives a logical explanation. Kudos Carl.
Flossycarter in here?! 😂 Im happy for him getting recognition his reviews are fun and more of how a normal person checks a new phone i guess, he just acts what we are thinking 😂

This is the first time I've seen the head of a company commenting on product reviews. I hope more companies do this. Good work Carl Pei, we can really see your passion for the Nothing phone, keep it up.
Really loved watching this and knowing for fact that the organizers are involved with getting user input and addressing the issues in their products in a proactive way. I hope to join the Nothing brand members as well in the future as I relate with the vision of organizing life. My main turn off about every phone now a days though are the notch/punch hole cameras and I hope we can transition to an under display camera set up as the norm one day.

If that doesn't make any sense then why Carl Pei criticised S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra.
I agree nothing has to keep a signature design but criticising other brand was not a good thing to do
Well s22 ultra and s23 ultra are extremely similar in design (almost nothing changed)
But here nothing phone 2 changed desgin quite a bit
I have to say watching you watch your reviews is very enlightening. GREAT VIDEO!
Holy shit! Very raw and cool, did not hold back! Now that's a CEO I would like to see more often.
I would not say it's raw. For example they didn't discuss about criticism on the new price range.
However it's still an awesome video

Hi there!
First up it's awesome that you check out the reviews! 🤗 Secondly, I'm a humble student saving up for the N2 and looking forward for the simple non-distracting app badges and that I can flip my phone and let the glyph-timer count down my study session 📚 Might have to eat a lot of beans on toast after the purchase but I know it will be worth it! 😉😊
3x lense was the one missing factor in Nothing Phone 2.
If we check the competition, there are better features offered by competitors.
I was about to buy Nothing Phone 2, but being camera nerd it's something I prioritise more. Hope they work on it. 😊
Absolutely agree. And this half understood reviews by Carl don't really make up for that
It’s great to see stuff like this. Reacting to reviews of your own product and acknowledging criticism
I don't know whether you'll read this. I'm a phone 1 user and I'm experiencing quite a huge list of bugs. Starting from the camera shutter and sometime doesn't respond and I feel like after the recent update the camera quality is reduced. The reason why I bought this product is because I heard that you guys care about the customers and provide quick bug fixes. I hope you'll do something with issues I'm facing in phone 1 ❤
I believe they fixed it in 2. So buy 2? 😅

The phone overall seems pretty solid. I would love to get a logical explanation for the missing charger, especially because Nothing is a bit different from the rest of companies.
Amen
We need to get our hands on the phone 📱 in South Africa 🇿🇦

None of the phones come with a charger. Not even low-end Samsung phones. You don't need a logical explanation for that.
@@mastermemer8351 every phones from chinese brands come with a charger sometimes even with 120W blocks. see that's the problem with people ignoring less popular but great price to quality phones.
6:22 I can answer that one, the Phone (2) is way more expensive than the Phone (1), so it now has to compete with higher end phones. The price should be reflected in the score. Just being better is not enough to keep your score if the price increases.
Mr. Ceo is in denial He thinks his (useless) fancy lights phone is a unique selling point.

Hey !

5:01 what was all that about? Someone needs to reddit about that Pokemon stuff
Nothing Phone 1 has written Pokemon written on itself in 3 places, you will see them after you remove the battery.
I think its so good that the brands watch and take ideas and feedback from the reviewers to improve their products, I like seeing that from Nothing

This is exactly why I love nothing, they are trasparent not only only on their phones, but also in their company. I love the fact that they take each issues highlighted by the community seriously and oush update ASAP. Much love! and its been 3 days since I started using phone 2, Loving it!
For me that recording red light reeeaaally needs to be added to the flashing notification stuff and more importantly it definitely should be the essential notification period, or at least an option.
9:31 LMAO I love that they included this
Bro reacts his brand by watching it on MacBook , that's savage
The Verge are always biased towards non-apple non samsung device. From windows phone days to tiday. Always.
Verge hires freaks. They're more like lgbtv agenda team than tech company
I think this guy strikes a good balance between accepting critiques while still defending the choices he and his team made on a fundamental level. Its good because it shows he cares about his product and has passion and vision but also knows that passion can blind you to flaws.
love the approach the brand is making in the social media

In response to adding more features, you can always have a developer mode for the people that want to go through absolutely every feature in order to achieve the perfect experience. It's actually fun for some people (myself certainly included) to go through everything and I get a little dopamine hit everytime I find a new feature on Android that makes the UI closer to perfection for myself.
Even I saw the difference in half a sec when I saw his video the first time. I was like what's he talking about 😂 3:16
