This entire interview is a modern day validation of the '70s tech revolution. With each challenge, Carl, perhaps unknowingly, followed similar blueprints set forth by Jobs and Gates; quitting or postponing school, exploring life interests, letting life and its characters be his mentors, making bold attempts and learning from its mistakes, developing resiliency and grit, approaching new markets and dominating it. This is a MasterClass in the basic fundamentals of today's modern day entrepreneur.
Why is this interview here and not on the nothing channel? Their website? This is the best advertisement for nothing that I've seen, I truthfully felt some of their marketing has been tacky and felt patronizing but this shows how smart he is and I'm willing to continue to support him
This man truly inspires me to support nothing and everyone forever. Unlike most users, they do not just slap on a big camera, collaborate with another brand, and pay a ton of money without knowing what will happen in the next six months or so. I hope Carl will treasure this moment.
Carl shows that hes human just like everyone else and I think that's what makes him stand out the most as CEO, especially within the tech industry. Very down to earth and humble, he's not afraid to express his flaws.
This is one of the best tech founder interviews I've seen. Very insightful. He pours out everything you need to know and would want to know. What a guy!!!
I so much love the way he thinks and concieved his company. I sincerely hope this to be the future take on consumer tech - repairable, customizable, more personal. Not this sick fan cult of apple.
Sorry, but can you go into the details. Most smartphones are so cut and paste and indistinguishable I find it hard to fathom why a choice of a phone brand over others would be such a special memorable event for you. They all look the same, run android or apple os and depending on how much you paid you get the camera that the money buys. Not being rude, just curious.
Wow this is so inspiring. What he said about university reusing and recycling old methods and systems is so true. I have the same drive to breakout from the matrix and a lot of it is genuinely figuring it out on our own
I've watched this video and felt like every major company (Samsung, Google etc) that I've own befere had failed me. This guy is amazing, he's been sharing with us his trip of building his company from literally "nothing". With all the obstacles and challenges, just so he could follow his dream of creating something for people, something different, something that will make you wonder. I've been owing the most expensive smartphones and every day I went to sleep dissatisfied that I paid so much money for a device that doesn't do anything different then his competitors. Until I own a Nothing phone. Then imediataly, I bought the watch and the buds, just to experience the whole bundle ". I'm enjoying so much and watching this video is making me belive that the future is there for us to grab it. I didn't belive it first untill I own a Nothing product. Now I'm sharing my thoughts with my friends about those products, wich I've never done it before. Stay up and stay original, Carl
He will be proud as i didn't know anything about the people running the company but heard through word of mouth that the nothing ear buds were great. So, I've been using them for 6 months now, and they are AWESOME. Love the yellow colour too! Tempted to get a nothing phone next.
My phone is dying and was in the search for a new one. After seeing a few interviews with this guy I decided to support them and bought the Nothing Phone 2a
Just found out it wont work in the US on Verizon or Xfinity. Those are my only carriee options, too bad. I really wanted to support this company, genuinely liked the phone
I really like the viewpoint on tech presented here. the current smartphone landscape is not ready for the next big invention, just like the internet. things are gonna change and people (and companies) that didn't have place in the tech landscape will come to shine 🎉
In 2024, working as an exporter in the GBA is definitely worth four years of over-priced university. Especially if you do not have the money to attend an Ivy League school. Knowing the supply chains will give you a major leg up on any MIT grad.
CMF phone 1 is a great value phone in terms of everything like its software, feel of the material..Im glad that they build such a great affordable product
If he is still a CEO Oneplus none smartphone company can beat him, One day I'll meet him for giving me a great smartphone experience in my lifetime, I hv used oneplus 1, X,3T,5T
love the video. great guy. inspiring journey he has. however, tech needs to evolve beyond just better phones - need to explore innovations that truly change the way we live.
Wow Carl has really Done a Solid for Us this was Honest and Open sharing beginnings to where he is currently. Motivational and Inspiring Stuff. Thank You He just showed me how to find my Why.
Yes please. Smartphone without apps. And be able to connect to keyboard, mouse and two monitors and use it as a computer. And new smarter operating system.

What a founder. Down to earth, humble yet ambitious. Way to go!
pity not many people r buying their products, wondering how long they will last
@@FredShin-m7xactually most smartphone brands start very small, but I see great growth soon!
Carl Pie is gay.
@@Mr_Pussi you say that like it's a bad thing
One of the very few CEOs I really respect for their sincerity, their way of thinking, and just being awesome human beings.

This guy is making every process so natural, I like the way he explains.
This isn't an interview, it's a Tech Talk. 20 mins ago, I knew nothing about Nothing. Definitely will be keeping tabs on the company!

my phone 1 is still going strong!
He's a great marketer. It's in his DNA. Love how humble and honest he is......

a real entrepreneur. love it. independent first principle thinking and a lot of creativity. never ever give up!
It’s hard to get a job with this on your resume because people ask what you’ve done and you say nothing.

Refreshing. Straight forward. Humble. Sincere. Honest. Thank you. Best wishes. 🖖🏼
These are the kinds of people I like to support.
Good job CEO. you will never fail. keep doing good job.
he's an example of how far can go someone who is equipped with the confidence that comes from having a wealthy family
What a great talker and story teller about his journey. I am now interested in his product.

I didn't know that he joined Meizu first before OnePlus. 👌 Thanks for sharing your story, Carl.
Amazing interview. So much to unpack for startups and entrepreneurs. I'm proud to be using the Nothing phone(2a), and It has become my daily-driver

I will support carl by purchasing new nothing flagship phone every 3-4 years
I just learn about this company today! !! I am so ready to move to Nothing!
I learned new thing about this: it is a modular phone but you cannot replace a battery. I am not buying it.
Got the Nothing phone 2 and I'm very pleased. Fun fact, I used to own Meizu in the past and I really enjoyed the phone.
I love this guy. He did the luxury life for 10 days and got bored of it. Next purchase, Nothing.
😂
Bro owns Nothing.
Yeah I think I'll be buying Nothing phones from here on out. I'm just super aligned with Carl's philospohy on technology and his vision.

He seems to have a lot of passion, I’m interested to see his ideas for shaping the future of technology.
One very important insight I got from this is the extinction on apps

Or maybe two sizes like apple does
