Why is this interview here and not on the nothing channel? Their website? This is the best advertisement for nothing that I've seen, I truthfully felt some of their marketing has been tacky and felt patronizing but this shows how smart he is and I'm willing to continue to support him
This entire interview is a modern day validation of the '70s tech revolution. With each challenge, Carl, perhaps unknowingly, followed similar blueprints set forth by Jobs and Gates; quitting or postponing school, exploring life interests, letting life and its characters be his mentors, making bold attempts and learning from its mistakes, developing resiliency and grit, approaching new markets and dominating it. This is a MasterClass in the basic fundamentals of today's modern day entrepreneur.
Carl shows that hes human just like everyone else and I think that's what makes him stand out the most as CEO, especially within the tech industry. Very down to earth and humble, he's not afraid to express his flaws.
This man truly inspires me to support nothing and everyone forever. Unlike most users, they do not just slap on a big camera, collaborate with another brand, and pay a ton of money without knowing what will happen in the next six months or so. I hope Carl will treasure this moment.
My phone is dying and was in the search for a new one. After seeing a few interviews with this guy I decided to support them and bought the Nothing Phone 2a
This is one of the best tech founder interviews I've seen. Very insightful. He pours out everything you need to know and would want to know. What a guy!!!
Sorry, but can you go into the details. Most smartphones are so cut and paste and indistinguishable I find it hard to fathom why a choice of a phone brand over others would be such a special memorable event for you. They all look the same, run android or apple os and depending on how much you paid you get the camera that the money buys. Not being rude, just curious.
I criticized the nothing phone then I decided to buy one with a skeptical mind. Trust me i still have it nothing phone 1 and I plan to keep it for the next few years I learned one thing on that day.. Just use the product before criticising... Maybe you will like it or maybe you don't
I so much love the way he thinks and concieved his company. I sincerely hope this to be the future take on consumer tech - repairable, customizable, more personal. Not this sick fan cult of apple.
He will be proud as i didn't know anything about the people running the company but heard through word of mouth that the nothing ear buds were great. So, I've been using them for 6 months now, and they are AWESOME. Love the yellow colour too! Tempted to get a nothing phone next.
Nothing phone 2 user here. I gave up my Pixel 7 and I couldn't be more happy. Love what the company is doing and how close they are with their customers. Really looking forward to what they do with the Nothing Phone 3 keep up the amazing work Nothing
I've watched this video and felt like every major company (Samsung, Google etc) that I've own befere had failed me. This guy is amazing, he's been sharing with us his trip of building his company from literally "nothing". With all the obstacles and challenges, just so he could follow his dream of creating something for people, something different, something that will make you wonder. I've been owing the most expensive smartphones and every day I went to sleep dissatisfied that I paid so much money for a device that doesn't do anything different then his competitors. Until I own a Nothing phone. Then imediataly, I bought the watch and the buds, just to experience the whole bundle ". I'm enjoying so much and watching this video is making me belive that the future is there for us to grab it. I didn't belive it first untill I own a Nothing product. Now I'm sharing my thoughts with my friends about those products, wich I've never done it before. Stay up and stay original, Carl
Happy with my Nothing Phone 2A plus. Super happy with my purchase and is leagues better than my previous samsung smartphone. For me, Nothing OS is "kinda" their take on what a no frills , minimalist design take on what an android user experience should be from the perspective of an everyday user. It just works. It has enough power to somewhat cater to power users, camera is great. UI is snappy af. Display is vibrant and colorful. All of this just for a midrange smartphone is amazing. Using my smartphone doesn't feel cluttered. Everything is just designed to make the user experience as seamless and stress free as possible. The whole Nothing team has put in a lot of work to make these smartphones happen, and it shows. I hope they become a household name in the smartphone industry.
Wow this is so inspiring. What he said about university reusing and recycling old methods and systems is so true. I have the same drive to breakout from the matrix and a lot of it is genuinely figuring it out on our own
Absolutely impressed with what Nothing is achieving! The blend of innovation, minimalism, and practicality in your products is a breath of fresh air in the tech world. It’s clear that the mission and vision behind Nothing go beyond just making another gadget-you’re redefining how technology integrates into our lives. The attention to design and user experience is inspiring, and it’s exciting to see a company focus on delivering real value while staying true to its ethos. Keep pushing boundaries!
Love this video. I’ve also lived in Sweden. It’s a beautiful country with amazing people. Wish we could move there but you need to have a sponsor and a job, etc. I’m impressed with how “big” you think. Kind of feels like nothing is intimidating.
Cool statement : from 17:20 until 18:10 was so cool the connection and the marketing strategy with the customers, something that you do not see every day in phones companies.thanks
I really like the viewpoint on tech presented here. the current smartphone landscape is not ready for the next big invention, just like the internet. things are gonna change and people (and companies) that didn't have place in the tech landscape will come to shine 🎉
Just found out it wont work in the US on Verizon or Xfinity. Those are my only carriee options, too bad. I really wanted to support this company, genuinely liked the phone
In 2024, working as an exporter in the GBA is definitely worth four years of over-priced university. Especially if you do not have the money to attend an Ivy League school. Knowing the supply chains will give you a major leg up on any MIT grad.
Carl Pei: Learning about managing a factory in university is useless! I dropped out. Also Carl Pei: The first batch of earbuds we shipped were defective. We had to put 15 engineers into 2 apartments beside our factory so we could manage the factory.
CMF phone 1 is a great value phone in terms of everything like its software, feel of the material..Im glad that they build such a great affordable product
Carl, I'm just an average dude... yet average is more then average when you hit on all cylinders. You Sir are both way more then average and hitting on all cylinders at once. I feel ya... you've mastered the search for ultimate quality.

I love Carl Pei how he thinks and how much pain he can take. As an entrepreneur, he has inspired me since he was at Plus 1. Great job, Carl!

This guy is not nothing - he’s just awesome
This isn't an interview, it's a Tech Talk. 20 mins ago, I knew nothing about Nothing. Definitely will be keeping tabs on the company!
he's an example of how far can go someone who is equipped with the confidence that comes from having a wealthy family
