I went with 2m cable, never regretted it. But it's being changed now, the motor cable will go through drain plug now, watch for the new video once the winter is over.
Hi where de you buy de battery? Normaly this is the most explensive, please explain better how do you do all in another video, the engine still working today?
I found the batteries used on local classifieds website. As for the source of affordable (especially if you go DIY way) batteries I highly recommend batteryhookup.com
Well, video description says most of it. Skeg-mounted brushless motor, originally designed for SUP. I power it from 16Ah 6s LiPo battery, it is good for 1 to 4 hrs. There is a receiver connected to ESC, wireless remote provides 10 speed and reverse. www.alibaba.com/product-detail/High-power-thrust-Surfboard-electric-fins_62068958941.html
Hi. For us dingdong that know nothing and looking for something similar, I didn't see how you steer, and if there's a power cord and what to hook up to?
I steer using paddle. Yes, there is a power cord coming to a custom box with a motor controller and battery. But there are also self-contained, non-DIY solutions.
@@vadimus2007 He worked 1 hour in the bathroom on 1 speed without a break. But on the river, on a kayak, it works periodically. It happens for 10 minutes everything is OK, and then it turns off every 10 seconds, and after 10 seconds it turns on again, sometimes it works longer. The weather is sunny. Could it be the block overheating? What is inside the aluminum block? Battery new gel 12V 35Ah (Gemix GL12-35 12V 35Ah GEL) Battery if full
@@AntonyBienko There is a speed controller inside that alum heatsink. If it's not too hot to put your finger on - it's not overheating. I suggest this gel battery is not keeping up with the power required, voltage drops temporarily and the speed controller shuts down because of under-voltage protection. Try any semi-decent 3s Lipo, even 2000-3000mAh will do for the test. Or just hook up a voltmeter and watch at what voltage does the motor stop.
Very interested. Does it has a different speed mode?
Yes, it has 10 speed steps plus reverse
@@vadimus2007 Is it still working fine after all these years?
@@_John_P Yes it is! Going to post an update in few weeks, stay tuned!
Bonjour est-ce que le câble de 1,3 m est suffisant pour raccorder à la batterie ou il vaut mieux prendre 2 m?

@@vadimus2007 Got it. thank you. (I had seen others where the motor turned)
bonjour ? es ce qu’il est compatible avec un kayak sevylor wabash svp ?
I don't think so, Sevylor Wabash does not seem to have a proper skeg mount.
hi, what battery did you use?
Tattu 16Ah 6S LiPo battery
Is that an off the shelf setup?
Not really, some minor DIY was involved.
There is a problem. The motor runs for 10 seconds, then turns off. After 10 seconds it turns on again. and so constantly. What is the reason? Thanks
Runs properly or stutters? What's the battery type/voltage?

Can i use in salt water?
I believe so
Is a 12v or 24v? Type of battery and durate of use?
It's a 24v version. Average energy consumption for this 2 seater kayak is 10Ah per hour.
I mostly use 16Ah 6S Lipo batteries
