Im a carpenter with 40 plus years of experience. I have to tell you kids that you are knocking it out of the ballpark! Ive worked with pros that don't take the care you two do. Keep up the good work!
My autistic son sometimes watches these videos with me. Jenna, when be saw you he said “Heddo” to you, which means hello. He has a speech disorder that makes it hard for him to talk. Getting a hello from him is a big compliment! ❤ I told him, that’s Jenna, she is building a house 😊
I am 71 years old. Never in my lifetime would I have had the courage to rebuild a house. I have nothing but mad respect for you ,Jenna and Nicky!! Just remember when you both are snuggled up in front of a roaring fire; You both did this!!!!
Nicky either has some construction knowledge, or they have someone behind the scenes helping. There is no way 2 noobs would be able to do what they do and churn out videos weekly. I don’t care! I’m here for the entertainment, and that is what I’m getting! LOVE THEM! ❤
Yes! We Did it! I remember when I couldn't wait for October (when it was said that the roof would go on.) It was something monumental to look forward to and hope for to preserve the house and have that mile marker.
I'm part of a non profit group that does thanksgiving dinner baskets every year for those in need. Bombas donates 500+ socks every year for us to hand out as well. Best sponsor on RUclips by far!
What I love about your channel is that it happened organically. Jenna, I really enjoyed you working the needle making tops, pants, hats etc You truly had joy in the simplicity of your channel. But all of a sudden, your life changed drastically. You saw an opportunity, a challenge, a house that you fell in love with and you took us along for the ride not knowing the impossible task in front of you. Thank you Jenny & Nicki for this glimpse into probably the most important creation for your future. Wanda OC California ❤️❤️
When I saw you standing in a dry house with the rain pouring outside! What an accomplishment!! Also the views from your house are breathtaking - what a lovely part of the world!!
Can we just all agree that watching Jenna slay that woodwork was the most satisfying thing ever? The precision of those nail gun shots-perfection! And that montage? A masterpiece! It’s like ASMR for DIY enthusiasts. 😌🔨
Congratulations! Big step forward. Unlike a lot of channels I feel like you guys are actually trying to finish your house! You're doing it so smartly as well. You're inspirational and a joy to watch. I look forward to watching these video every week!
Can you imagine how differently it would've gone if she accepted a tv show? Probably wouldn't be all their ideas, or showing less detail of the process. I'm glad we get these videos!
So impressed, I can only imagine what a joy it is for the neighbors to see the house that probably sat abounded for so long is being built before their very eyes. Our too. I’m enjoying the whole process. As I sit here and knit. You guys are amazing. ✌️🎉👍
OK, who else wondered when... Jenna said... "it's going to cost a gazillion dollars 👈🏻 🤪 👉🏻《I might be exaggerating》 to build our roof."..."So we're going to do it ourselves." I thought 🤔 "Theirs no way they'll be able to build a roof"‼️‼️‼️ AND VOILÀ... 👏🏻👏🏻 THEY ARE BULDING A ROOF‼️‼️‼️ I'm SOOOO IMPRESSED 👏🏻👏🏻
Freaking crazy to see the house coming back together *exactly* as envisioned. Every vid recently y’all are getting huge leaps closer to having a finished house and the progress is so great to see.
The views in this area are stunning. We moved up here 12 years ago (from California) and I am still amazed at the glorious views. Their views are extra spectacular over the water, but all over the MetroVan (the area around Vancouver) and even every other part of BC have me in awe. It is truly a magical place to live for the wonderful views and generally lovely weather (but you do have to like rain 😉)
I have fallen so deeply in love with the two of you- you both are like watching Snow White baking a pie with birds plus those woodland creatures sing and dance around her. You two are so pleasant as well as calming to watch. I wish you love joy and a long relationship in life love as well as building.
I might be currently without a home but I absolutely love watching you build your own home you cool Canadians! its so inspiring to watch you and your families come together and build that beautiful place for your future! keep up the good work, and I will say that I have received some of the Bombas socks that are the donation side of their program. they really are high quality and fit so snug. They arent quitters like some cheap socks are, you know the kind, that slide down slowly and end up around your ankles...thanks again for the wonderful content Jenna!!!
Hope you find a new home soon! I was homeless for five years. I can relate to loving aspirational home content and appreciating free Bombas. Hang in there.❤
The roof looks absolutely magnificent. I'm so pleased you've reached this milestone. Reached it with good humour intact. A breath of fresh air watching your channel.
This house is almost fully house shaped again! It'll be really exciting to see everything dried in and interior work start - which I'm sure is what you're sprinting for since Winter is right around the corner.
The main goal is just getting everything contained right now! based on past videos I don't think they expect to get any part of it livable anytime soon. They need to do the bare minimum on every single exterior wall, get electric and plumbing done by professionals, and of course the roof and windows. Sure, they could finish a bedroom in the downstairs while the rest is unfinished but then they'd be freezing or wasting so much money heating one room in a house that has no walls or insulation yet lol
Hi Dave. You must be proud of Jenna and Nick, they will be missing your hard work and building experience on the house. The roof looks friggin’ fabulous.
I think you should install a hatch and a safe spot where you and Nicky could go up and sit on the roof sometimes and look at the view from there too. It's really amazing.
As someone who's been married for 15 years, I appreciate the way you guys work together. Or, rather, I appreciate the extra editing that goes into removing all the small, meaningless arguments that don't matter because at the end of the day you're doing this huge project together.
Fun Fact: Never, ever underestimate the impact that you have on other people just by doing what you are doing. Love and hugs from me in New Mexico USA.
Truly impressed with your ability to stay positive through this whole build. (I know you've had ups and downs, but you keep coming back up.) In the US, we've had some shitty news lately and this is a helpful reminder that sometimes, you just need to build something to restore perspective.
I am really impressed with you two, Jenna & Nick. Amazing. The whole time you're on the roof I am thinking, "Don't step off" and then Nick says it to you. I'm scared for all of you all the time. My husband, our oldest son and I built the house we've lived in for the last 20 years. It's a wonderful feeling to know, "We did this!" Nice to see you enjoy each milestone.
I feel like getting this roof on was a huge hurdle, like it’s all been leading up to this… finally no leaking!! You tore it ALL down only to build it back up better than it ever was. And now, after the better part of a year of work, you finally have the roof back on. I am so proud of you guys and I’m so ready to see you move inward, as the whole thing starts to come together. 🥰
Wooooow although I’ve been watching all your videos I was simply taken aback by the look of your kitchen with the roof on it!! What a space 😱🤩 It looks amaaaazing
I just love watching your progress and how well you work together. You are going to have a really beautiful home when you're finished and most amazing views. So sorry that Drywall Dave missed out on the roofing and hope his arm heals up quickly.
I just want to say I’ve been a silent supporter the whole time. I have enjoyed all of these videos, I cannot believe how far you guys have come, cannot wait to see you decorate the home :)
Jenna, we had to pull almost the entire back wall off of our house in September and we’ve been plugging along ever since, getting rid of water damage and rebuilding the back of our house. It’s been frustrating and disheartening. I am so impressed with how positive you and Nick have stayed. It’s easy to let negative emotions take over when you’re doing something like this but you guys are a wonderful example. Congrats on the roof!!!!!! That’s huge!!!!
So surreal to see the house looking like a house again. When this project started I never imagined you two would do so much of the work yourselves. BRAVO 👏
Im a pessimist by nature and I don't like it about myself BUT I love the way you two work and joke and makes this grumpster smile! So excited for this house to be done.
Recently I had to do some really difficult (and gross) work in our garden and I hated every moment, but when I needed motivation I just channeled Jenna. Jenna could do this, I can do this. I am Jenna.
this project is so inspiring, the transformation is incredible. I can only imagine how it feels to stand under that roof and finally sense what the house will be after endless hours of labor and planning. Can’t wait for what comes next!
Drywall Dave is definitely missed. Is this injury from the car collision? I hope that he recovers quickly and has all the physio and care that he needs ❤
So excited for this roof series, we were here for the clearing out , the demo , the uncertainty for roof i love love love the house and how far you’re coming congratulations to both of you ❤❤❤❤
It is such a wonderful project. Taking an abandoned & derelict home and bring it back to life. Plus, the neighborhood seems like a nice place to live. This is someways the ideal project for me to follow. Long enough to get into it, yet straight forward enough to understand all the details. Thank you. Keep it up and you will have a nice place to live.
Clerestory... The skylights! You didn't kick the skylights out of your plans! Yay! I love that feature the most. Do glad you are up to it and have the budget for your clerestory. New word for my vocabulary, nice.
I started following your channel because I'm new to crochet. Then you went and bought this house. DIY renos bring back memories! I love cutting wood, too. And I love the smell of sawdust.
Just finished binge-watching 41 episodes. Why did I do that? Now I have to wait for the next instalment. Seriously though I'm glad I did, your renovation has been fantastic to watch. Can't wait until you upload the next episode.
Initially, I had some doubts about the fireplace, but now I am 100% onboard with it. I am so happy to see the progress you have made and that your youth will allow years of enjoying the fruit of your labor!
This is the first house rebuilding video I've watched. The enormity of the project for some reason made me anxious when it first started. Now that you're making mega progress, I'll be going back and rewatching! Happy building.
Feel better drywall Dave! Jenna, you guys should be so proud of the work you have done to bring this wonderful home back to a beautiful place for the next hundred years+ years! I have to admit, I thought that the mold would be the thing that did you in. But you guys made it work.❤
I been watching your videos for a while. The moment you started vlogging your renos I was in my early stage of my pregnancy. I just want to thank you for keeping me company and making my morning sickness bearable. Now im in my 7 months I am so glad that your home is coming together.
I LIVE for these weekly episodes, thank you for being so cute/fun and honest! Love the music, the editing, love how you two deal so healthily with mistakes, it’s SO refreshing! Big virtual hug from a Spaniard living in Amsterdam, Netherlands!
I had the biggest grin on my face this whole episode when I watched it the first time because I’m just so so so happy that you have got the roof on and tarp”d. What an incredible accomplishment for both you and Nick. When you think of where you were just a mere 18 weeks ago it is utterly amazing.
21:17 the way i literally said “WOW” out loud multiple times… the house is starting to feel like a house again!!! you guys are just crushing it every step of the way 🫶
The house looks marvelous! The room where the extended roof was added is dreamy. I can't wait for the next phase. It's so satisfying to watch your work and accomplishments. Yay, you!
The nail gun montage and Nicky's blurred plumbers crack was peak cinematography
Im a carpenter with 40 plus years of experience. I have to tell you kids that you are knocking it out of the ballpark! Ive worked with pros that don't take the care you two do. Keep up the good work!
If I was these two this would be amazing praise. ❤
I agree completely ❤
We miss you Drywall Dave. Get well soon.
Haven’t Killer Kelly in awhile! ❤

I feel the same.
To be honest, they are not really rebuilding... they tore the old one down and built a new one that just kinda looks like the old one. :P
Nicky either has some construction knowledge, or they have someone behind the scenes helping. There is no way 2 noobs would be able to do what they do and churn out videos weekly.
I don’t care! I’m here for the entertainment, and that is what I’m getting!
LOVE THEM! ❤
I don’t think they could sit in the house without remembering these days!
It doesnt take courage, it takes money.
“The second time we do something it’s always better” 👏🏽👏🏽 unwavering positivity. Love it!!
Roof! Roof! Roof! I see ROOF! We did it! Yes, we did! At least that's how I feel. Like all of us participated. It's Beautiful!
Yes! We Did it! I remember when I couldn't wait for October (when it was said that the roof would go on.) It was something monumental to look forward to and hope for to preserve the house and have that mile marker.

I have been watching Jenna since her crochet days on YT and watching her and Nick build a HOUSE from a box of SCRAPS is so mind-blowing!?!?
I wasn’t ready for that cliff hanger ending lol I need more!! It’s really coming together. Beautiful work ❤️ Feel better soon Drywall Dave!
Beautiful editing this week. The view the conversation. The finishing. Each part is one step closer.

Somebody done RAISED the ROOF!!! It looks great.
When Nicky called Jenna ‘Sweetheart’ oh my heart ❤
OK, who else wondered when...

I don’t have a head for heights so my palms sweat just watching you on the roof! Feel better, Dave. Stay safe everyone!
It's going up and down those tall ladders for me!
Anytime Jenna is near the edge I get so nervous!
I have fallen so deeply in love with the two of you- you both are like watching Snow White baking a pie with birds plus those woodland creatures sing and dance around her. Yeah FEMA and this mess we call our government is really bad news.

perspective matters...keep on building and leave the negative behind amigo...

That looks sooooo good!! I’m very impressed that you’re able to do accurately set up the framing for the prefab trusses to fit perfectly! 👏👏
