You sound doubtful that this doesn't actually happen often ...😆😆😆 Check this out(to name a few): Lee Harvey Oswald - left his wallet after murdering a Police Officer. Tommy Leon Stewart - left his wallet at the scene. Justin Lebaronese Williams - left his wallet at the scene. Klaus Schmidt - deaf, didn't hear the alarm going off in the bank he was holding up. Ruben Zarate - gave his mobile number to a female clerk, asking her to call him once the times safe lock opened. Zachary Tentoni - left his birth certificate behind during a robbery. Albert Bailey - called the bank he was about to rob ...hoping they'd have the money ready.
+Totoro's Peace to be fair he might have owned the store, and the fact she was robbing all those store and did'nt really have a "noble cause" to do so made her a common thief.
Umm ok, sh's in a poor situation it doesnt give her the right or a free pass to threaten people's lives and possibly their jobs btw. You're right we don't know anything about that store clerk, therefore we can't comment on judge him based on how "Sometimes they are the most murderous" which we have no proof other wise thats an assumption based on his job and not supported by any evidence what so ever. The girl is a Thief stealing to get by (possibly that wasnt made clear what the money was for) but by doing so is putting the clerks jobs and lives at risk.
This film has over 2 mil views and 15,000 plus likes....yet the comments all bash it...INTERESTING. I loved it, the acting was great, being a person with multiple back to back jobs I can understand the tiredness and emotion she was feeling(not that I would rob someone). Overall this was a beautifully done film, the score was nice, and the quality was surprisingly not bad for it to be independent...10/10 Perfection!-Prinze
Hardly anyone comments on YT anymore but trolls. A lot of pages just turn the comments off. This is the first time I even scrolled the comments in months. Sooooo, high five and back to looking for interesting indie entertainment on YT.
Maurice Napier Right? I mean, all she took was some change and cigarettes. I've been mugged before. Took my Ipod and wallet. I wouldn't go out and murder the people over it.
Lawrence Harrison Well, it's not just that. One dumb character I can understand. But the stupidity across all the characters seems more like careless writing than a deliberate attempt to paint them this way. A criminal who doesn't know how crime works, a store clerk who doesn't know how society works (is he retarded? Does cause and effect, crime and punishment mean nothing to him?) and a cop who doesn't know how policing works.
Believe it or not, there are people that stupid. Many years ago where I live a burglar dropped his wallet at a business he had broken into and then started a fire and burned it down. (I guess to destroy the lost wallet) But though most everything burned, his wallet survived complete with his I.D. LOL (he has a new home now in Montana State Prison)
I'm confused.... why are you people relating this character to Harley Quinn? You incults, this isn't Harley Quinn or even her past story... It's just a movie and a character called Harlequin (i.e.: Harlequin is a Jester whose makeup is worn like this) The only reason why Harley Quinn is called Harley Quinn and dresses up like a Jester, as Joker's "sidekick" is because her name is Harleen Quinzel (Harleen Frances Quinnzel for long) and Joker, in one of her sessions, made a joke about her name sounding like Harlequin. Don't mix potatoes and onions... this is just a girl that masquerades herself as a jester to fill a few criminal assaults for the trade of cash... i.e: a thief. The reason why her makeup is that way is just to conceal her identity. Why Harlequin? Ask the director then, it was his vision.
***** and you are certain the Batman author wanted to make no reference to a harlequin? not even by giving her the outlandish name harleen quinnzel? do you know many quinzels?
for anyone saying that it's not Harley Quinn, of course it isn't. Firstly, look at the spelling. Do you see it? Harlequin, they are people who are dressed up as clowns. Here's the meaning on harlequin: harlequin is the best-known of the zanni or comic servant characters from the Italian Commedia dell'arte. So stop saying it's a terrible version of Harley Quinn, because it isn't her.
+Ivan Richards live by the gun you die by it, what gives her the right to threaten other peoples lives? steal from other people trying to make a living?..what if it had been an ugly girl..or some guy?..would it be ok then Ivan?
Did anybody stop to think that this isn't a take on the Harley Quinn backstory? The Harlequin character has been around way before Batman even existed. I think it's just a girl who decides to rob places in clown (harlequin) make up. Not everything Harlequin is Harley Quinn.
Kar Diem I already admitted that I made a mistake. That's something that most mature adults do. And as far as me acting like one, without you knowing me outside of here, you cannot have any possible idea as to whether or not I do or do not act like a grown up. You're not a very good troll, your way of attack is flawed and easily countered.
So let me get this straight... When u say to somebody that she /he have failed, that's your way to admitting things, right? Then you called me inmature by a comment (that's very mature) so judging by that i return you the compliment but you don't take it because i can't judge you by a comment but you can.... By the way, it's not like trolling you is an accomplishment for me. You 'd do the job for me really great so it kinda kills the fun. ;)
So first off this is a pretty interesting short film... However reading the comments i am very confused and it would apear that others are more confused than I am. The title of this video is Harlequin... NOT Harley Quinn... Her makeup is not done the same. Her hair is not the same. Her voice is not the same. She doesn't have a love for the Joker. This has nothing remotely related to Harley Quinn to include the name. My confusion is why are people trying to relate her to Harley Quinn from Batman?? If it is specificly due to the name then you need to go learn your self what Harlequin is... Stop trying to compair something to something else just because of some tiny similarity watch the video for what it is not for what you want it to be...
It also doesn't help that this comes up as a suggestion, when watching, Joker and Batman related videos on RUclips. I originally thought it was connected to it but I am pleasantly suprised. I also like her BETTER than any Harley Quinn I've seen, and it's just so well done, I cannot help but emphasie how much I love this. It also reminds me a little of the movie "The Crow"
this short film has more similarities to batmans harley quin than a harlequin, which i found out to be 'a comic character in old stories and plays who wears a mask and colorful clothes with a diamond pattern'. so people making the reference seems very rational to me. and i think it could have had a better plot. short films can be alot better imo.
i said this video has more similarities with harley quin than a harlequin. And FYI a harlequin (to the extent of my shallow survey) is not a type of a clown.
saltcheese Sorry but the same way that a King's fool is a clown, a harlequin is too. The concept of the fool made specifically for Italian theater instead of a court in all honesty. That doesn't mean that the character's purpose is totally only a comedic one, but it is still a comic relief character that can at times be used as both satire... "How funny, the fool understands but no one else seems to" and as a sort of catch all benevolent trickster character that brings a sense of mischief. That's where modern clowns more or less come from. Tricksters, truth tellers, and being a laughing matter while also not.
Jakira Kumahata nope, real ones are far worse. well, killing a schizophrenic man for having a panic attack and holding a screwdriver, shooting who knows how many unarmed people at this point so... a bad detective is just a dummy, but at least he's not a murderer. according to this at least.
Okay, guys. This is not HARLEY QUINN. The name is HARLEQUIN which is a type of clown, which is where HARLEY got her name. Her name was based off of something, like all DC characters(JOKER, TRICKSTER, Batman, Penguin, Robin, Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze etc...).
Intriguing. Moving. Tragic. Not what I expected, but I am not the least bit disappointed. Simple girl who wants more than she has, decides being someone else is the solution. I think she was stealing money to be in a position to be "cool' with those girls she was about to talk to. This was a good film. If I had seen it in the theater I would have clapped and stood. Excellent job.
@@ladygaga749 A new 30 minute dark comedy/thriller short film (no ads) called CANNERS is now streaming for free. ruclips.net/video/IytMIj6X5Eo/видео.html
Murder is not equivalent to armed robbery. I personally believe that anyone who can't be rehabilitated is best removed from society (our prison system is fucking stupid, and puts a burden on our economy for an institution that really just makes things worse) in a permanent fashion. However, someone who commits armed robbery definitely hasn't crossed the line into being someone beyond rehabilitation. The real criminal in this, sadly walks away.
So, someone frustrated that the system isn't looking into the only clue left at the scene of the crime and the store worker trying to take justice into his own hands because of the lacking system, somehow translates into him having a shattered psyche and that he's pathetic. Glad to know you don't judge much.
Although I wasn't necessarily a huge fan of the film overall, I'll say this, there was one moment that was extremely effective. When the camera is shaking as the lead man is uncertain of his actions, and then it slowly stabilizes as his resolve solidifies. That was a nice touch. And I kind of see the good points of the concept for sure, just though the acting could've been a little more natural and the script a little more polished (her reason for going around in clown make-up instead of just using a mask is a little too vague, although I think that's what you were hinting at with the women walking by in the beginning and the end). Overall, the film isn't by any means a sign of lack of talent, rather a sign of talent that needs just a little polish. But it's clearly there! And the camera used is also gorgeous in terms of shot quality.
I’m not sure what other people are seeing but as a wanna be film maker I found this phenomenal!!! The people with the negative comments have no idea how much time and work that goes into something like this WTF people?!?!?! By the way a shot at that range with a large caliber gun would cause back splatter if she wasn’t pressed completely against the wall…which she wasn’t. Excellent film Tara and crew!!!!
The making of this short may be phenomenal (according to you), but i thought it lacked a lot in the story. It didn't make much sense, thus the negative comments. They could have spent less time with the acting and filming, and developed a better plot.
Richelle T Warning Spoiler Alert It’s a short… not Inception? The story was simple, the girl had a split personality and got off on the fact that she could play God deciding if a person lives or dies (without actually killing them) Then she picks the wrong person who could kill. That’s it…end... It’s not that tough to get and I’m sorry but I don’t see what people are missing? Trying to get actors, a crew, equipment, locations, lighting, time, etc. and all on a small budget now that’s tough!!! For an up and coming director I think her and the team did an excellent job.
As a viewer, I just think that having a better story is a definite must. All that hard work won't pay off if people won't appreciate it because of the lack of content.
Alright the first few minutes are her smoking. Only the first cashier is obsessed with her. There's the worst cop (detective) in the world. Some lines are clichéd. And at the end nobody heard the gun shot.
I love this short film acting is good story too lady robs stores dressed like a harlequin doll robs a guy by puts nag a gun in his face takes his money causing him to suffer ptsd she leaves her I’d they he finds her and Los her
I believe he said "I want to" since earlier she had said "I could kill you if I wanted to" he probably got so frustrated with the police's lack of interest and the ongoing robberies that it drove him insane. But that's just my theory. I thought it was a Harley Quinn video but I was pleasantly surprised! Beautiful work ^^
HARLEQUIN - A Short Flim is even more empressive movie watching it again for 103nd time now in year 2016. The beautiful actress Lea Vonn, a natural beauty in heart & on screen....captivating in every way. Thank you. If you have part 2 of this movie done and/or in works. I must know if Claudia Davis lives??
Cinematography: excellent, very pro. Story: meaningless. Not worth the time it would take to type out a real commentary. This is what happens when film school forgets to teach the "writing" part of screenwriting.
+Everett Goldner it may not be the deepest story, but it still makes you (or me at the very least) wonder... who is to blame.... the police officer who doesnt put an end to it even though the robber literally left her ID, thus driving a decent man to madness, being angry at the injustice taking place... Or was it really the clerk who had it in him all along, and the actions that took place merely were a push in the direction of a fate he was bound to meet due to his personality and way of thinking...
+romi van es There's nothing wrong with the *concept* here. I'm talking about *execution.* That's what's severely lacking. We're supposed to believe that the detective lets her off, basically, because she's hot - he has no other motivation to not take her in. Fate vs. free will as a theme could've been developed much more deeply without making the film one second longer than it is.
great story camera work and acting to me the story seems like shes doing the armed robberies because she is running from someone or somewhere and shes trying to fund a way out from her life of crime i dunno im prob wrong but i hope this gets made into a full feature film as i know i would watch it
Way too much shaky cam. The writing was terrible. The first three minutes of the film was just watching her smoke a cigarette. The lines were clichéd. The subplot with the officer should have been followed through. The fact that the officer returned evidence to a clear suspect was ridiculous. Amateur hour.
CommanderCorner where was the shaky cam? I'm the type of person that can't handle 5 minutes of the Paranormal Activity movies or any found footage movie. If I do, I get sick for a day. I watched Harlequin last night and was fine.
un nemernic Of course, he was an excellent actor who played in some of my favorite movies; that last of which was "The Dark Knight". My point is, his portrayal of the Joker wasn't the only one to be glorious.
*Sits there wide eyed and silent, watching all the arguments go down in the comment section- squeaks* S-so much fighting... I just wanted to watch the video...
I thought it was quite good. It wraps up nicely with the man, the storekeeper, who had originally been robbed saying "I want to". This is key and I think give the story a lot of meaning in contrast to Everett Goldner's comment saying the story didn't have meaning. Referring back to one of the very first scene's where the Harlequin robber robs her first store (according to the plot we see, anyway), the storekeeper asks "So, what now? You gonna kill me?" and she replies "No. But I could if I wanted to." The police don't do shit and I think the story line says a lot about what happens when people going around doing 'what they want to'.
1. Its a HARLEQUIN film not HARLIE QUINN from Batman comics. A harlequin is sorta like a girl who wears clown make-up 2. Harlie Quinn from Batman real name is Harleen Quinzel hence her name being Harlie Quinn and she is jester because she is the sidekick/girlfriend of the joker 3. I am the only one who likes shakey cam
***** I suspect when someone unnecessarily calls another by a word of degradation, it is a reflection upon themselves. I couldn't find the supposed name-tag. But, if it exists, then the main character could have been a comic book reader who finds inspiration in the character, Harley Quinn & puts it on her name-tag. The idea for the Batman character is probably based on the word:1 (Harlequin)a mute character in traditional pantomime, typically masked and dressed in a diamond-patterned costume.• historical a stock comic character in Italian commedia dell' arte.
Sophia Fox First of all, this is an entertainment topic that would fall under trivial matters which typically is not ideal for deciding one's idiocy. Second, I found your comments straight forward & clear. Next, if Mr Genius, over here is all about technical details, then he should work on his his own mistakes, which are evident as he missed that you had 3 points, one of which has nothing to do with the character name/title. Furthermore, misspelling is hardly a mistake (it is probably the most minute or insignificant mistake a person can make, hence the role of editing) Who cares about spelling or pronunciation as long as we understand each other? Especially when it comes to blogging and chatting. PS: I like shaky cam if done in the right moment.
+Sean Clark exactly. Her entire thesis is completely shot in the face considering the ending. Secondly misspelling such an iconic character completely discredits any attempt at sounding coherent on the subject matter. Fail.
it's not that she left her wallet but but why would she even have had it out to have been left behind in the first place...........major plot hole...........maybe they should write for hollywood with a plot hole like that
Bank robbers have written the demand note on the back of their own deposit slips. And yes, things like wallets fall out of pockets and purses. Experienced robbers empty pockets of everything, take off rings, watches, jewelry, and anything else that's easy to identify, including covering tattoos. Just consider that everyone knows about fingerprints and still they don't wear gloves.
Was interesting. Biggest thing for me was the fact that the police completely disregarded a good lead, and that when he shot her literally no one was around to hear it? 3 girls just walked by like 2 seconds ago.
I don't care how clean a toilet looks I would never lean on the bowl of any toilet; not even in my own house. All those germs getting on you and your clothes.
Very Good short film. Every thing was done at a professional level, the camera, the acting, the customs, the make up, the music and the Directing for sure. The whole staff did a dedicated great job. I wish you more success and hope to see your name on more films.
This was a bit excessive. The cash register guy throwing up and looking like he's on the verge of dying in a bathroom? Really? It's not like she killed his entire family, she just robbed him!
That was what the film was trying to show you. People don't understand the violence inherent in terror. She thought she was just making money and feeling powerful. She didn't see the obvious effects she was having on people. He was suffering from PTSD or just a slow nervous breakdown after that incident. He should have gotten some help, but didn't. So, he ended up doing something stupid and permanent. In the end, he was shocked by what he had done.
These abusive comments sadden me. I really liked the whole film. No, the script and acting wasn't excellent, but it was a well rounded story that was well made. Excellent cinematography and direction. I think the creators of this have a lot of potential in the industry.
drvannostran I'm not a huge fan of the non steady camera. A few include it in a various points for dramatic effect and it works, but when it's all like that (BWP, Cloverfield, etc) It detracts. I dunno, I couldn't get into this film. Then again, I couldn't get into classical music. It's phenomenal stuff and requires dedication and talent, I just can't seem to personally enjoy it.
+Armond Nero I agree, and It's a shame. because right up until the ending I was really enjoying both the filmmaking and the acting. I really liked it when the clerk said "I want to", and it would have been better if he'd just walked away, leaving her with the same fear and trauma she left him (and others) with. Poetic justice.
This was pretty cool. I just have one issue. What kind of moron even brings their wallet and identification to the store they are robbing, let alone leave it there.
I thought they were playing at how she wouldnt be stupid enough to leave it so they wouldnt assume its her but someone leaving it there in order to frame her... buuuuut then again she did look surprised to find out it was gone .... so... um
nah it was supposed to be her first time robbing a place... she over thought the whole disguise and for her money bag just grabbed her backpack not thinking what was in it... her wallet fell out while the money was being put in... or at least that's how I see it
I think the part about the wallet was showing that she was new to all this robing thing. I think like all criminal activity the first time you do it, as in rob, or kill, you are a bit sloppy and you make mistakes. But as you do more, robbing or killing, you get better at it. I think that was what the left wallet part was trying to say.
I don't think the writer or director intended for the 'wallet left at the crime-site thing' to be indicative of anything about the character's newly acquired criminal behavior or a plot twist about being framed. I think it is in there as an excuse for the store guy to find out who she is.
Seriously though who the fuck brings their wallet to a robbery? lol And also really? The dude is so obsessed with finding her for robbing a store that isnt even his money. Then he kills her becuz of it? He lost what? $200 maybe? I mean seriously stupid ending.
He was obsessing over the loss of control, and the helpless feeling of having a gun in his face. It was never about the money. The wallet thing was stupid. They used it as a plot device, I think they just should of had him recognize her from the restaurant she works at.
He said "I want my ..." BOOM - hey I think the gun went off accidently. It probably was his store. When people turn to armed robbery a lot of them get shot and end up in shallow graves. Over 30,000 people disappear every year, many are criminals. Instead of going to the police, and face possible retribution by the family or friends of the crook, lots of people shoot first and get rid of the scumbags body themselves. When your a crook you find out not everyone plays by the rules.
The actress is very pretty. Sad but very pretty eyes. My only criticism of the acting was when she twirls the gun. That was pretty lame. In real life that little gesture would have given the person on the other end of the barrel an opportunity to rush in and grab it out of here hand.
Feel ugly? Feel robbed? The ones who look allot more like the store owner but who are in charge are the criminals! The end of the video is PERFECT! It expresses their whole obsession! "I want"!
I thought that it was great for a short film. A nice slice of life. Good acting and the content was interesting enough for me to watch the whole thing through. Love the sexy make-up!
why was he drawing her eyes like he's trying to crack a case when he knows exactly who she is and where she lives? And then he murders her? Why? His pride was hurt? Didn't make sense for his character to murder her. The cop was an incompetent jackass and the whole thing ends up just being frustrating.
I think the character killed her more perhaps because he might be an Incel. Initially he may have just wanted justice but after the police fail to do anything, he begins to actually lust after her in addition getting revenge. Realizing that he could never have her sexually short of rape, he kills her. Just before he shoots her he tells her "I want you".
Man, when I worked at McDs, I often felt like becoming someone else and trying to exercise a little control over my existence. Can't say that armed robbery came to mind but, doing something besides being consumed by the Machine was definitely in order. I liked this film. Grinding all day for change is murder. I will think of this character often. And the killer clerk wasn't exactly in love with his life- another victim of the grind? Good show! Thank you!
I can't believe I wasted my sweet ass lunch break on this. Now I have to go back to the salt mines and I have nothing to show for my sweet ass lunch break.
There are manyaspects of this work that are quite good. The ending was a big let down though, I expected something more. I understand the shaky camera thing is supposed to be a tool to increase the tension of a scene, but I can never get beyond the feeling that the cameraman is just drunk.
very terrible, from the acting all the way to the plot premise. feels as if it was produced by some type google bot with the use of people that normally make music videos.
A promising beginning but then the story went south after the shower scene. Everything seemed to indicate that she had murdered the store guy with all that anxiety showed while showering. Next thing we know, she left her wallet on top of the counter.
i actually enjoyed it. but everyone has their own opinions also i see a lot of people asking if its harley quinn, no its not harley quin. its a harlequin if you dont know the difference look it up. internet is your friend :)
I thought it was BRILLIANT, I LOVED IT! I know it's NOTHING to do with DC BATMAN villain Harley Quinn, yet the structure of possible split personality or sociopathic manipulation does seem similar.
bob roberts You wanna know what really made the writing seem amateur. *The robber left her ID in your store? sorry sir, we won't make assumptions. But we will however search for the owner of this ID and return it to her, without asking questions :D Not even the American Police Force can be THAT stupid
wait wait wait- He points the gun to her HEAD, the next second she bleeds from her STOMACH, and her blood drops like hella crazy the moment he shoots her? like boi what
DC's Harley's back story definitely defers from this piece of original cinema...but, that doesn't discredit this story as it were. I can place the character Claudia Davis adopting the image and developing the persona of HARLEY QUINN ( HARLEQUIN ) into her own endeavors. A, now, petty crook and thief that can turn into something more....OR this could be the artist/ actor's further story into the original life of Harley, before her becoming a psychologist and the unique relationship with the sociopath, Joker. You can tell, Claudia became fixated onto blondes....if she didn't die, of course.
Except for the fact that this has nothing to do with the DC universe, it's just another term for clown, generally associated with female clowns, and Harley Quinn's name is merely a play on words in reference to that.
The detective would have taking her in for more questioning. When he confronted her outside her apartment, he told her that her wallet was found at a robbery scene. he never told her it was a female, but she asked if the girl is the same before he told her anything about the robber.. a good detective would have caught that and took her to the station. that blows a hole in the entire narrative of the film.
it fell out when she leaned over the counter. but shes still a dumb ass for losing it lol.. sorry if im being a creeper but you are freaking beautiful ijs :)
I really liked that. I didn't think he would follow through, and I'm disappointed that he did, because his punishment didn't fit her crime. Good writing, great flow, great music. I think everyone did a great job.
Thinking this was a story about Harley Quinn, I expected the dude to become Batman or something after looking at himself in the mirror. Good movie though
Worst thief ever, who leaves their wallet at a robbery, she might as well have worn a name tag
Also worst cop fucking ever
Jay Montalvo Just terrible writing all around.
You sound doubtful that this doesn't actually happen often ...😆😆😆

Zachary Tentoni - left his birth certificate behind during a robbery.
Albert Bailey - called the bank he was about to rob ...hoping they'd have the money ready.

Prinze really? 10 out of 10? You should watch more short films. I give it 7 out of 10 without the boobs it'd be 5 out of 10 lol
What criminal brings their fucking ID with them when robbing a store?
an amateur
a clown?
AHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOOOHAA
***** cheers.
Completely opposite to that sick above.
I use to work at a grocery store and a lady robbed one of the cashiers. The dumb bitch forgot her purse LMFAO.
Yeah, That's not very smart. Whoever put that in the script wasn't smart. Should have done something else to narrow it down to that chick.
dude really took being robbed personally
Maurice Napier Right? I mean, all she took was some change and cigarettes. I've been mugged before. Took my Ipod and wallet. I wouldn't go out and murder the people over it.
DamnabLEyes! somebody points a gun at you and they threaten your life. It's not very polite.
No, I suppose it isn't. God, this movie was stupid.
Yeah. Who takes their I'd with them on an armed robbery. Lol.
Lawrence Harrison
Well, it's not just that.
Who is so stupid to leave a wallet at a crime scene ?
That indeed happens at times by unstable minds that commit crimes. Most of them would not do what they're doing, if they were fully sane.
I bet it happens more than you'd think.
Believe it or not, there are people that stupid. Many years ago where I live a burglar dropped his wallet at a business he had broken into and then started a fire and burned it down. (I guess to destroy the lost wallet) But though most everything burned, his wallet survived complete with his I.D. LOL (he has a new home now in Montana State Prison)
terrorists forgotten her ID card also
leave your wallet at home dumbass
I'm confused.... why are you people relating this character to Harley Quinn?
You incults, this isn't Harley Quinn or even her past story... It's just a movie and a character called Harlequin (i.e.: Harlequin is a Jester whose makeup is worn like this)
The only reason why Harley Quinn is called Harley Quinn and dresses up like a Jester, as Joker's "sidekick" is because her name is Harleen Quinzel (Harleen Frances Quinnzel for long) and Joker, in one of her sessions, made a joke about her name sounding like Harlequin.
Don't mix potatoes and onions... this is just a girl that masquerades herself as a jester to fill a few criminal assaults for the trade of cash... i.e: a thief. The reason why her makeup is that way is just to conceal her identity. Why Harlequin? Ask the director then, it was his vision.
***** and you are certain the Batman author wanted to make no reference to a harlequin? not even by giving her the outlandish name harleen quinnzel? do you know many quinzels?
saltcheese ... its on the comics, and even the animated series... are you serious?
***** what is?
fair enough; odds are i was and am being stupid.
IT WASN'T BAD THO
for anyone saying that it's not Harley Quinn, of course it isn't.
+Kate Taylor But but but the Harlequin from the Commedia was a hero not a villain.........
+Jack White and? People can do whatever they want with them, people take many things old and new and make them the opposite of what they are
Kate Taylor
Of course but you can't say its the same Harlequin, can you.
+Kate Taylor Yep! People are stupid and quick to judge when they dont understand film making processes by people who arent big time
shitchops
and your username tells it all. lol
I love this short film, I've probably watched it about a dozen times already! It's really well done, good job!
what kind camera is being used? the shots are gorgeous.
Thank you! It's the Arri Alexa
+Tara Alexis My name is alexa😅😅😅
+Tara Alexis I agree it was beautiful good job
+cpaa14 the girl is gorgeous. why'd he kill her for robbing him? psycho.
Angel Gieneart Yeah...until one of the taggs is Harley Quinn.... failll for you!!! hahahah
Kar Diem Ok, fair enough.
And a "failll" (fail, is how we adults spell that word) for you for pointing stuff out in such an immature manner...hahahah
Yeah whatever dude, face your epic fail and stop weeping about it... You want to be a grown up? Then start acting like one!
You 'd do the job for me really great so it kinda kills the fun. ;)
who would take their ID with them when they commit a crime?
Exactly! Lol
I did like the story though
Ikr?
What if he would have carded her for those cigs? She would have been sol. Oh wait, she had a gun. Sorry
Lol
It also reminds me a little of the movie "The Crow"
this short film has more similarities to batmans harley quin than a harlequin, which i found out to be 'a comic character in old stories and plays who wears a mask and colorful clothes with a diamond pattern'. so people making the reference seems very rational to me.
and i think it could have had a better plot. short films can be alot better imo.
saltcheese Batman doesn't have the market tapped on the evil clown trope and a harlequin is a type of clown.
i said this video has more similarities with harley quin than a harlequin.
Everybody ranting and railing about the title. Nobody on the fact that I think we just found the worst cop in America?
was thinking the exact same thing
Yes, that's definitely a "we're going to have to take you downtown to ask you a few questions" situation at *least*.
Jakira Kumahata nope, real ones are far worse. well, killing a schizophrenic man for having a panic attack and holding a screwdriver, shooting who knows how many unarmed people at this point so... a bad detective is just a dummy, but at least he's not a murderer. according to this at least.
Stojo You're right. I should have said "Stupidest Cop in America"
Jakira Kumahata so "the best cop in anywhere" if you ask criminals :D
I think the guy did that for copyright reasons
Harlequin actually was a DC character, her real name was Duela Dent, but this isn't her.
+Nei Fernandes no... there's also a character named Harlequin. there's both. Harley Quinn is not the Joker's daughter...
Scarlett S.
Though, still pretty positive this isn't Duela either, so..
+Noodles4Anime yeah, it isn't. that's what I said in an earlier comment.
Intriguing. Moving.
-mom!
-what?
-i'm going to rob the store!
-ok hun! Take ur ID and bring me cigarrettes!!
XD Parents now a days!

bruh she robbed a convenience store you work at, not own, chill tf out
Maybe it was a franchise, and he was the owner. I'm with you though, it couldn't have been more than $100. Glad to see the criminal get killed anyway.
+Ryu our prisons should be more rehabilitation than punishment.
This was not the intent behind my comment
Richelle T Warning Spoiler Alert
It’s a short… not Inception?
The acting was a bit shit.
Byron Jackson are you familiar with story behind harley quin? because this was a horrible portrayal of an already established character.
the guy killed her in day light in the middle of the street
He shoved the muzzle of the gun into her gut and fired. The muzzle report (bang) would have been quite muffled by the body. Think silencer.
Alright the first few minutes are her smoking.
Only the first cashier is obsessed with her.
There's the worst cop (detective) in the world.
Some lines are clichéd.
And at the end nobody heard the gun shot.
Note this is constructive criticism.
I love this so much!!! Amazing! The rest of the comments are just hate, I'm sorry people are so rude.
Either the acting is bad or the dialogue is bad, story is too cliché but quite good to watch
A new 30 minute dark comedy/thriller short film (no ads) called CANNERS is now streaming for free.
ruclips.net/video/IytMIj6X5Eo/видео.html
The only good thing worth watching it for is Lea Vonn. What a beauty.
I love this short film acting is good story too lady robs stores dressed like a harlequin doll robs a guy by puts nag a gun in his face takes his money causing him to suffer ptsd she leaves her I’d they he finds her and Los her
I'm not the only one who thought this was a Batman film
The title kinda gives it away...
+Tam Dee it's not a batman film tho. it's Harlequin not Harley Quinn
+ProblematicAlex Duh A lot of people don't know the difference.
Me too lol but I want to see how this plays out
+ProblematicAlex Duh +Jade Howell
Harlequin is also a Batman character. She's an alias for the daughter of the Joker.
+Everett Goldner Yeah pretty crappy
+Viktor Bout /clicks "hate speech", reports the comment.
***** in that case I apologise for misunderstanding what you meant and have to agree with you
when u got an a in art class but u still got student loans
Anyone who majors in art hasn't a prayer of paying those loans back😂
@@that_goth_bitch3899 , For real
Student loan?
Excellent production and acting. Well done. Hope to see more from you.
great story camera work and acting to me the story seems like shes doing the armed robberies because she is running from someone or somewhere and shes trying to fund a way out from her life of crime i dunno im prob wrong but i hope this gets made into a full feature film as i know i would watch it
Way too much shaky cam. The writing was terrible. The first three minutes of the film was just watching her smoke a cigarette. The lines were clichéd. The subplot with the officer should have been followed through. The fact that the officer returned evidence to a clear suspect was ridiculous. Amateur hour.
"People of France! A good-looking, depressed girl smoking a cigarette is not a movie!"
Remc0 Schedel HAHA PETER GRIFFIN
BigMacBraaap Very good ;)
CommanderCorner "Amateur hour". You summed up everything about this film in two words.
CommanderCorner where was the shaky cam? I'm the type of person that can't handle 5 minutes of the Paranormal Activity movies or any found footage movie. If I do, I get sick for a day. I watched Harlequin last night and was fine.
Title of this should be "dumb robber pisses off the wrong convenience store worker and he forms an obsession to make her pay for a petty crime."
GONE SEXUAL
so true
where I'm from armed robbery isn't a petty crime. lol
I don't think there are many countries, if any, that consider armed robbery with a gun to be petty crime, regardless of the amount stolen.
XD who ever made this spelled Quinn wrong too
WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT IN HARLEY QUINN WHEN WE HAD A HEATH LEDGER JOKER!!!!!!! WE WILL NEVER HAVE A JOKER AS GOOD AS HIM AGAIN!
e_e
(Mark Hamill was an equally astounding Joker)
SlamifiedBuddafied
Do you even know who Heath Ledger is?
Since your talking about Joker and stuff..........I'M THE BATMAN...Not really D:
un nemernic Of course, he was an excellent actor who played in some of my favorite movies; that last of which was "The Dark Knight". My point is, his portrayal of the Joker wasn't the only one to be glorious.
*Sits there wide eyed and silent, watching all the arguments go down in the comment section- squeaks* S-so much fighting... I just wanted to watch the video...
The person just wanted to make their own story... Why don't you let them...?
+Merci Lopez yeah
now that u say that I'm just gonna quit reading and pay more attention
1. Its a HARLEQUIN film not HARLIE QUINN
from Batman comics. A harlequin is sorta like a girl who wears clown make-up
2. Harlie Quinn from Batman real name is Harleen Quinzel hence her name being Harlie Quinn and she is jester because she is the sidekick/girlfriend of the joker
3. I am the only one who likes shakey cam
***** hey if I made one mistake that instantly makes me an idiot wow such a nice person
***** lol he is right ^^^
+Sean Clark exactly. Her entire thesis is completely shot in the face considering the ending. Secondly misspelling such an iconic character completely discredits any attempt at sounding coherent on the subject matter. Fail.
Worst. Cop. Ever.
Excellent short, though I'll admit I showed up expecting a batman movie.
Gas station attendant is probably the best actor in the film. This was an excellent short, and I've been watching shorts all week on RUclips.
I hope that's at least 13 pieces of flair.
Anthony Placho remember that one time a single comment was better than the entire movie
I was thinking that the whole time
Flair?
Lame and old ass joke.
Movies meaning: If you rob someone, kill the evidence👌
This is the one and only criminal who leave her wallet at the counter..
Google "criminal leaves wallet". It happens.
it's not that she left her wallet but but why would she even have had it out to have been left behind in the first place...........major plot hole...........maybe they should write for hollywood with a plot hole like that
Bank robbers have written the demand note on the back of their own deposit slips. And yes, things like wallets fall out of pockets and purses. Experienced robbers empty pockets of everything, take off rings, watches, jewelry, and anything else that's easy to identify, including covering tattoos. Just consider that everyone knows about fingerprints and still they don't wear gloves.
Yeah, this character was named after Harley Quinn, and bats were named after Batman. Because humans suck at logic.
A very unoriginal name then if you ask me.
Unoriginal?!
Which Harley Quinn ...or Harlequin??????
Andrew Portillo Ummm..I think you should Google "Harlequin". It should be...enlightening haha
Galen DuLac actually harley quinn was named after harlequin not harlequin named after harley
The ending is disappointing. I mean murder against robbery doesn't seem justified. A man killing someone just coz she stole his day's earnings?
He killed her 'cause of his pride.
Debanjali Chatterjee one the police find her, he will be the #1 suspect.
Was interesting. Biggest thing for me was the fact that the police completely disregarded a good lead, and that when he shot her literally no one was around to hear it? 3 girls just walked by like 2 seconds ago.
way too many plot holes
Okay who brings their wallet with their ID to a robbery? xD
aww that old geezer is the JOKER!!! u got me!!! 😝
It's not batman. If you read the title it's not Harley Quinn, it s clown but it is where dc got her name from
I'm just messing up , ikr that it's not batman whatsoever .... just getting the logic of things!!!
12:40 That has the to be THE CLEANEST gas station bathroom I have ever seen. You could eat off of that toilet!
That's exactly what I was thinking! Usually they are pretty gross, but he was getting all up and personal with it...
This is how we know it's fantasy.
*LOVESICKE*
and stuck a gun in his face.....I think I'd get a bit upset myself
These abusive comments sadden me. I really liked the whole film. No, the script and acting wasn't excellent, but it was a well rounded story that was well made. Excellent cinematography and direction. I think the creators of this have a lot of potential in the industry.
Thumbs up Tara. Just hold the camera still next time.
Yeah, well I'm not saying I could have done better myself. But the film was good. Give her thumbs up people...
drvannostran I'm not a huge fan of the non steady camera.
I really liked your creative take on a classic character, but would love to see maybe another short film explaining more about her background?
it was great but really...the ending
+Armond Nero I agree, and It's a shame. because right up until the ending I was really enjoying both the filmmaking and the acting. I really liked it when the clerk said "I want to", and it would have been better if he'd just walked away, leaving her with the same fear and trauma she left him (and others) with. Poetic justice.
+Danyl Strype I KNOW RIGHT! i really loved the whole video but it just let me asking "WTF?" I wish they would make a new one
+Armond Nero He had to kill her she took his money.
This was pretty cool. I just have one issue. What kind of moron even brings their wallet and identification to the store they are robbing, let alone leave it there.
I was thinking that as well haha
So he shot her? Wouldn't everybody see him shooting her or hear the loud gunshot?! This is stupid!
We are led to believe that he shoved the gun into her abdomen and fired. I would tend to think that would muffle the blast considerably.
okey, so basically what this film is showing us, is that the police is stupid? It has no message at all
Seriously though who the fuck brings their wallet to a robbery? lol And also really? The dude is so obsessed with finding her for robbing a store that isnt even his money. Then he kills her becuz of it? He lost what? $200 maybe? I mean seriously stupid ending.
He was obsessing over the loss of control, and the helpless feeling of having a gun in his face. It was never about the money. The wallet thing was stupid. They used it as a plot device, I think they just should of had him recognize her from the restaurant she works at.
i take it you've never been robbed & had a gun stuck in your face. it's not fun and yes, you do wanna find them and go Punisher on their ass.
kennethlellison lol this guy ^^^
He said "I want my ..." BOOM - hey I think the gun went off accidently. It probably was his store. When people turn to armed robbery a lot of them get shot and end up in shallow graves. Over 30,000 people disappear every year, many are criminals. Instead of going to the police, and face possible retribution by the family or friends of the crook, lots of people shoot first and get rid of the scumbags body themselves. When your a crook you find out not everyone plays by the rules.
ungertron I think it important that we check your attic, for "scumbags". Or anyone that might have pissed you off over the years. ;-)
The actress is very pretty. Sad but very pretty eyes. My only criticism of the acting was when she twirls the gun. That was pretty lame. In real life that little gesture would have given the person on the other end of the barrel an opportunity to rush in and grab it out of here hand.
IF they had the guts and nerve to.
i also thought it looks like she usually doesnt smoke
I thought the gun twirl fits with the clown persona... yes she is very pretty, 9/10
Feel ugly? Feel robbed? The ones who look allot more like the store owner but who are in charge are the criminals! The end of the video is PERFECT! It expresses their whole obsession! "I want"!
The cop should have checked the camera footage!!
What the hell kind of ending was that lol
I enjoyed the choice of music though
I thought that it was great for a short film. A nice slice of life. Good acting and the content was interesting enough for me to watch the whole thing through. Love the sexy make-up!
Omg this movie is awesome!!! You are really talented🙌😍
why was he drawing her eyes like he's trying to crack a case when he knows exactly who she is and where she lives? And then he murders her? Why? His pride was hurt? Didn't make sense for his character to murder her. The cop was an incompetent jackass and the whole thing ends up just being frustrating.
Thanks for the spoiler.
Good show! Thank you!
This would make an amazing movie 😍😍😍😍😍
I know
lmfao that detective tho 😂
I don't want you to listen to a thing anyone else says, this is amazing.
How anyone disliked this is beyond me. This was a really well done short film. Wow...totally impressed.
very terrible, from the acting all the way to the plot premise. feels as if it was produced by some type google bot with the use of people that normally make music videos.
Good pictures but very bad story!
who brings their wallet to a fucking robbery ?
I thought it was BRILLIANT, I LOVED IT!
I know it's NOTHING to do with DC BATMAN villain Harley Quinn, yet the structure of possible split personality or sociopathic manipulation does seem similar.
are you gonna kill me? no....but i could if i wanted too. hate that line
bob roberts All that was was to show that she was nervous, and an amateur.
ZanarkandAce well....it made the writing seem amateur.
bob roberts You wanna know what really made the writing seem amateur. *The robber left her ID in your store? sorry sir, we won't make assumptions. But we will however search for the owner of this ID and return it to her, without asking questions :D
Not even the American Police Force can be THAT stupid
Hahahaha true.
***** American cops wouldve shot her on site
no one goes to rob someone with their Id in tow
😮Wow the look and makeup of HARLEQUIN looks so cool and I like it.
wait wait wait- He points the gun to her HEAD, the next second she bleeds from her STOMACH, and her blood drops like hella crazy the moment he shoots her? like boi what
layan he shoots her stomach. He moves the gun to her stomach when he shoots
Aye, that I am.
keep an eye on those potatoes last thing you need is another mass potato shortage
Mastr Sculpter wow GOOD ONE, ya fuckin history major
The detective would have taking her in for more questioning. When he confronted her outside her apartment, he told her that her wallet was found at a robbery scene. he never told her it was a female, but she asked if the girl is the same before he told her anything about the robber.. a good detective would have caught that and took her to the station. that blows a hole in the entire narrative of the film.
where do i sue for 15 mins of my life back?

Hi, Tara, it's Quinn! Fancy seeing your video pop up in my suggestions! Great stuff, I'll definitely subscribe!
It was a nice video, but they made everything look way to easy including the "detective".
wait, is she listening to panic! at the disco
4:55 made me LoL hard.

Could've snatched it out her hand with how long it took.

I enjoyed the idea and the concept. Could see a full film done from this..
Haaa! she got a fliphone!!! HaHaHa!!!😂😂😂
Not realistic at all....where were the trigger happy cops shooting anything that moves?

Not to mention the fact of not having a jester costume, or what about the Joker or Mr. J
^^^ Harlequin is a type of clown , Harley was inspired by her, It is not about Harley Quinn
the title says Harley Quinn...
^^^The titel says Harlequin , which i repeat is a character, Harley Quinn decided to be a clown bcs of Harlequin, Damn read the comics
The actress is big time. I’d find it hard to believe she doesn’t make it in Hollywood.
you don't take ur ID with u when robbing people. I get it, u wouldn't have a story otherwise... but honestly
they could have come up with some other argument, a nosey neighbor... whatever
