I love how this Red Hood is more heroic than his usual counterparts. He spared that thug after hearing how he suffered at the Joker's hands, he only went after the Joker after he killed Batman, he decided to give Alfred one final goodbye, and he threw away his guns after he killed the Joker.
+Brendan Fuller They really can't though, it'd be too dark and the version they most likely would do would be nothing like how he becomes the hood.. this is considered to be too graphic and would be an R rating at best.. Dc doesn't do that.. but it's an amazing video..
Brendan Fuller Well they did make Deadpool an R rated film so there's always a good chance. I mean it can be pg-13 but how can you shoot that torture scene and not make it totally graphic you know?
+Brendan Fuller Ehhhh last rumor I head was that for Affleck's solo film they were going to go with the Under the Red Hood storyline, but then again it's just a rumor.
that was absolutely the best red hood fan film on youtube. the actor who played Jason was amazing. seriously. he should play Jason Todd in a full DC backed live action show and/or movie.
Yeah. A well acted and well coreographed fan film. Amazing really. The fight scenes looked very good and the acting was top notch. The actor should play Jason Todd in a feature film or a series. Also like the direction they took at the end. Todd instead of Grayson taking over... nice actually.
This and Nightwing: The series are the top fan-made things right now, bya pretty big margin. Your Red Hood design is damn good, downright intimidating.
The aggression from Tod was spot on in those fight scenes. No fancy stuff, just the quickest, most effective and least amount of moves to get the job done with each punch holding 100% of the rage
The monologue in the beginning is very strong and in my opinion, extraordinary. And Alfred saying "you might not be a Wayne, but you are still family", that was amazing, I come back to watch this all the time
In all honesty, the actor for Jason Todd sounds exactly as I would imagine him to sound. It’s amazing the emotion he can put into his voice. If it hadn’t blatantly said ‘fan movie’ in the title, I would’ve thought he was a professional on the big screen.
Dark, gritty, savage, a new twist on an awesome legacy. 100% solid performance by all the actors. Thank you for creating this masterpiece for all of the fans. I hope Warner Bros. was watching because this should be a big budget film.
Whoever played Falcone was mesmerising and intimidating, incredible casting and talent. Its almost impossible to find a fan film that doesnt make me cringe uncontrollably, but this is the exception
christian mccauley....Indeed. But, have you heard of the character called "The Prankster" ...that's actually what I meant. But, I get your viewpoint as well.... sorta' like the 90s Joker when Jack was The Joker. lol
The actor who played Jason Todd/Red Hood was fantastic. This whole thing was a triumph. Well done many times over. This was a brilliant short film. You should all be extremely proud. Wonderful work, I can't praise this enough.
Almost a decade later and I still revisit this fan film from time to time. In short, an incredible fan film that did a tremendous service toward Jason Todd/Red Hood. I am hoping that one day you make a sequel to this film or a reboot of sorts.
but theeeeeeeeen theres also rumors that jared letos joker is actually Jason Todd, and after being beaten and tortured by the REAL joker he has gone insane and became the joker himself
You've done a hell of a job, Toby. I personally thought your actor's interpretation of the Joker was excellent. The Falcone-office scene was my personal highlight, but with that said, the entire short kept me captivated from start to finish. I'm looking forward to your next project, mate.
King WZRD oh god I hope we don't get anything like Arrow..... No offence to Arrow I love the show but that kind of tone would never suite this character

I dont really watch youtube films, but this I got to say was amazing. The guy playing the Joker was on point not because of his outfit or make up, but because of the insanity in his eyes, it was perfect!!!!
Great fight choreography and acting for a fan film, you guys should really be proud of what you made here! It's more than most will do creatively in their lifetimes, so kudos.
+Infamous Banana not all the time. When red hood started he was cold and mean and killed more often. Now he's laid back a little and learned and talked to batman so he's not as hot headed as he used to be. Character development aka.
Fantastic, music is great, choreographed nicely. The Joker is the weak link of the movie, not only because he doesn't look like the Joker, but the acting is sub-par and the voice is pretty bad. Everything else though is marvelous. The design of the eyes of the Hood's helmet are cool and I'm pretty sure they're edited to light up like that, made it look great. I wish I could make a trailer for this fan film lol Great job :)
Im watching this now 8 years later, where this year there is a different ongoing red hood project which has its strengths and weaknesses just like this video here. but the chills with the fight scenes, the amazing characterisation overall here and the props and just the entire way the fan film is directed is still a masterpiece almost a decade later. This truly puts DC and warner bros. to absolute SHAME that they havent used and developed Jason/ Red hood. this is truly a work of art, i love this dearly and everyone who made this happen should truly be proud of themselves. this will carry and hold so many of us afloat whilst we hope for some better crumbs from the big gun producers themselves. I love this fan film so much and yeah just WOW.

rashon shelby I wouldn't go as far to say anyone could play the Joker, but that's just my opinion. I think to pull of the Joker, you need to understand what makes him good. +Toby Bajrovic Hey, care of answer what is the name of the outstanding soundtrack that starts at 16:00? since i already asked you before and looks like you ignore my comment. Please answer, thanks
Hey man, thanks so much for your comment. Nah I don't have any training. Completely self taught by the lovely internet :) And by watching a shit ton of films haha. Still plenty to improve on.
This has been out for about 4 years and I still come back at least 5 times a year. This is the best fan film ever made and I wish Hollywood had the balls to portray such a dark and brutal 'hero', who would do what Batman won't. But if they did 2 Deadpool movies then we can still dream, right?
I'm the 20,000th guy to like this fanfilm. I was absolutely blown away by the compelling story. Jason Todd is a very underrated character and this fan film certainly has done justice to him. Great work by the film-makers and of course, Simon Arblaster. He kinda reminds me of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys lol. On a downside, the Joker was poorly cast.
Honestly the worst part about this is the Joker, both in makeup design and in voice. But overall a very well acted and edited film. I would definitely watch more of this.
It was the voice and Laugh that's Comic movie Joker imho ? It was grating after awhile nothing personal . Heath Ledger set the BAR way way to high . Its gonna be hard for anyone for a long time . The Joker movie with J. Phoenix may reset the role again ??
@Erik Hoffman - Who J. Phoenix or the dude in the the video short ? Phoenix isnt gonna do voice over work dude Won an Oscar and although hes getting older hes still A - list . His Joker Origin story look's gritty and Interesting to me anyway ?? To each their own though I'm not bagging on ya lol
21:17 "Why, it's to prove a point. We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized that they were inside us. Let it out!" That line resonated with me at the end. I believe Joker wanted Jason to embrace his pain, suffering, and the 'monster' inside him.
I enjoyed this, what a great twist on a classic story. Fight choreography was some of the best I've seen in a fan film. Joker needs some work, but it is super hard to nail down an Iconic character like him without voice lessons from Mark Hamill. maybe go the fumbly grumbly Heath Ledger Joker
Rob Sutherland really? I thought he was great although they should go a joker like ledger just cause in my opinion it makes more sense (but don't make it the same character just like him)
the casting for todd was nice. falcone, nailed it. the others, not so much. the joker wasnt convincing me that he is the joker. but other than that, the quality of cinematography was great!
+Arsoul :: Yes, costuming was really good for this as well as the other films in the fan films in this series. Loved the mask -- however, Jason Todd/Red Hood is portrayed with the scars of his murder in canon, including a vicious J scar on his face. Not saying that the actor should be scarred up, but Jason *did* get murdered.
ok, I liked this, joker was a problem his voice was good but his cadence and his expressions didn't not sell the joker for me. as for the red hood at the end, when he sprayed painted it black, does Todd become Batman? I like the fact that in this story that batman died, and Jason was out for revenge. you could had filmed exposition scene explaining it.
Nice Job Guys. My favorite line was "we stopped looking for monsters under our bed when we realized they are inside us". Glad you made your own joker instead of copying heath ledgers version - his work is untouchable and too many copy cats failed to properly cover it. Your special effects are solid, simple but effective. I know you worked hard on this film, and I can see big things in your future when your budget grows larger.
+FuryVengeanceYT I think that since it was black, he would take on the mantle of the bat. Now that he has the one he wants to kill killed, he can morally become Batman.
+Max Barth The other reason it was good is because it didn't try to pander to one demographic which is the big problem with movies today. This movie was made the way you would expect if movie were made to fully match the source material they came from. The movie also proved you don't need to see the graphic violence to know its happening as proven when you saw Jason beat The Joker with the crowbar. You could hear it and you saw blood, but you didn't see The Joker's face, it was left to your imagination which is far more powerful than actually showing it.
This is a Redhood i can actually take seriously. I just can't for the life of me take Redhood in titans seriously. Absolutely amazing fan film well worth watching and rewatching.
@@arianab.3629 Wait wait wait wait. So you're telling me. That Jason came back while Batman was gone on the time adventure? Before he came back in Blackest Night?
Guys stop saying joker is bad. This was a no budget film and its very rude to say that. They put a lot of effort into a movie about one of my favorite characters. I apprecieate this work of art. (P.S. I love the music)
Dude I'm not gonna say the joker was good when he sucked regardless of what budget they had I mean everybody else was actually great except for the joker as simple as that !
Hey All. We are going to be doing a QUESTION AND ANSWER Video for you all. So please post your questions in the comment section below or message us. And we will try to answer your question :) Thank you all for the continuing support.
So this was the best fan film I have EVER seen! But I do have a thought, what were you thinking when you picked the man to play Joker? Not it a bad or mean way, just wondering.I thought his voice was good but his look couId have been better. Not to undermine this, this was AMAZING! Joker and all, I hope there is a sequel/another one because I LOVE Red Hood!
Some parts I didn't understand. The Joker poured gas on him as Robin and dropped the lighter so why wasn't he badly burned as Red Hood? And who killed Batman?
Hi! For starters, this is hands down the best Red Hood film on RUclips, gotta hand it to you. Amazing work. For the past couple of days, I have been constantly watching DC Comics fan films. All of them are amazing, but there’s always one certain area that could use improvement. I think it would be really awesome to put together a “team” of fan filmmakers to pool resources and make one giant epic fan film. With combined equipment and knowledge, we could together make something that gets close, if not makes it, to Hollywood grade. I think it would be worth a shot after COVID-19 blows over, and I really hope that there can be a giant nerd filmmaker meeting. You don’t know me, I am, for lack of better terms, a nobody student filmmaker who has dreams of one day becoming a professional, but I go to high school in Queens at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, one of, if not THE top arts high school in the city, and I think it’s time to have the ultimate collaboration of the nerds. If we put our minds together (and if you even see this), we could all make something spectacular! Consider it. I won’t be able to do much as I’m not yet an adult, but I hope that these long comments I scatter across RUclips can spark something amazing within this small community of DC fan films.
after watching the first episode of the red hood retcon series and realizing how they butchered the character of jason todd in every sense by turning him into deadpool i watched this and it was such a relief... you guys nailed it!!!...
+Eobard Thawne (Professor Zoom) well idk about the pre 52 version but I've read the new 52 red hood and I don't see any similarity between that and retcon series... I know he cracks a few jokes sometimes but not at the level of Deadpool or spider-man... it's my personal view on the retcon series...
Pradeep Sethi he goes on some pretty wild adventures and has a twisted sense of humour. After his return, that is. I know where you're coming from though. You prefer the Batman influence over Joker's.
I love how this Red Hood is more heroic than his usual counterparts. He spared that thug after hearing how he suffered at the Joker's hands, he only went after the Joker after he killed Batman, he decided to give Alfred one final goodbye, and he threw away his guns after he killed the Joker.
He is usually heroic just darker.

It was the voice and Laugh that's Comic movie Joker imho ? It was grating after awhile nothing personal . Heath Ledger set the BAR way way to high . Its gonna be hard for anyone for a long time . The Joker movie with J. Phoenix may reset the role again ??
Nahh his look just doesn't fit the role, he's a good actor but he'd be better as an animated joker
One of the best Red Hood costumes out there :) any idea where i can get me one of those?
thanks so much :) check out matt cook from avenged cosplay on facebook, he did an amazing job
+toby baj alright, thanks and best of luck in the future :)
@@Forky47 you can actually get alot of different parts for red hood from amazon and etsy thats where got all mine from
Who thinks this is a great moive?
Who the hell wouldn't?
Me!
I sure the hell do, thumbs way up
I do absolutely wonderful
21:17 "Why, it's to prove a point. We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized that they were inside us. Let it out!" That line resonated with me at the end. I believe Joker wanted Jason to embrace his pain, suffering, and the 'monster' inside him.
I enjoyed this, what a great twist on a classic story. Fight choreography was some of the best I've seen in a fan film. Joker needs some work, but it is super hard to nail down an Iconic character like him without voice lessons from Mark Hamill. maybe go the fumbly grumbly Heath Ledger Joker
Thanks for your comment :)
Rob Sutherland really? I thought he was great although they should go a joker like ledger just cause in my opinion it makes more sense (but don't make it the same character just like him)
Toby Bajrovic
Nice fight work. Like Jason Bourne with less shaky cam.
the casting for todd was nice. falcone, nailed it. the others, not so much. the joker wasnt convincing me that he is the joker. but other than that, the quality of cinematography was great!
It's really well done film.
Red hood deserves a good live action film or atleast a good video game. it's a effort worth appreciating
The soundtracks added in this fan film's really good.
This is fantastic!!!
Jason´s personality is ON POINT!!!
This was awesome! The costume was so well done! I would actually buy one of those helmets so quickly. How'd you go about making it?
same here man that helmet is Badass
+Arsoul The Red Hood mask was made by Avenged Cosplay facebook.com/Avenged-Cosplay-325456197613356/
That Robin is the best I've seen in a long time. He should always play Robin, in my book.
+Briter Flix thanks you :)
+Simon Arblaster you were awesome.
Robin is THE best
As long as he doesn't flash a bat-credit card, I'm always good with a Robin appearance.
Holy moly... I'm speechless.
Fantastic job!
The fight scenes actually look aggressive and pretty legitimate unlike some other fan films. Well done!
This was really good because of not only the story but you saw Jason struggle with his inner demons
+Max Barth Thank you! That was one of our main focuses. We intend to develop that further
Thanks for your comment! It's really rewarding to discover that certain ideaas paid off in many respect. Thank you so much
could this be the best live action Batman fan film
That was entertainingly INTENSE!!!!! Well written and well performed. Thank-you!!!
This is better than any DC Movie we've ever gotten. O.O
MY DREAMS CAME TRUEEE
I love this, you should make this a series.
We have more in the works :)
This is a Redhood i can actually take seriously. I just can't for the life of me take Redhood in titans seriously. Absolutely amazing fan film well worth watching and rewatching.
i gotta say this is the best fan made vid of batman
jokers laugh is weird
He sounds like a girl who just saw a mouse
sounds like a witch
RyanThePineapple Aka mr dank If the joker doesn't have a weird laugh something's off
Alex 3 Killer Jared is still better
His entire Joker just made me cringe.
this is some of the best acting in any short film I've ever seen. great job guys
Why am I dead?
Idk bats
Why so serious?
At least you are with your beloved parents again:)
Probably takes place while you were time hopping but before dick became batman
+Bruce Wayne Because it was 2015
He should at least have his own show
this one was really good! Great job guys i loved it
The one thing that has me super curious of how Batman died, I want to see what happened there.
I think it would be expensive to get a batman costume for such a small scene
I'm not gonna spoil it, but read Final Crisis and Battle for the Cowl.
DismantledDusk it’s because of his hiatus that he took after Jason died
@@arianab.3629 Wait wait wait wait. So you're telling me. That Jason came back while Batman was gone on the time adventure? Before he came back in Blackest Night?
Guys stop saying joker is bad. This was a no budget film and its very rude to say that. They put a lot of effort into a movie about one of my favorite characters. I apprecieate this work of art.
(P.S. I love the music)
Case Noodleton thank you for your positivity
U r right
I like the guy but why put so much effort then cower at the joker. 100%
Dude I'm not gonna say the joker was good when he sucked regardless of what budget they had I mean everybody else was actually great except for the joker as simple as that !
But its a fact, Joker was Trash!
Red Hood was pretty amazing
OMG this is the best fan made video I have ever seen!
Hey All. We are going to be doing a QUESTION AND ANSWER Video for you all. So please post your questions in the comment section below or message us. And we will try to answer your question :) Thank you all for the continuing support.
would really like to know who created the red hood helmet for you, or if it was custom made by you, how'd you do it
+Carl Graham it was made by matt cook over at avenged cosplay. links in the description facebook.com/Avenged-Cosplay-325456197613356/
:) he's amazing
+toby baj thanks for the link
Yes, we wanted to tell a variation on the traditional story and put our own spin on it
We have no idea unfortunately. It will be very far away at this point. Only at the ideas phase. Probably 18 months to 2 years
So this was the best fan film I have EVER seen! But I do have a thought, what were you thinking when you picked the man to play Joker? Not it a bad or mean way, just wondering.I thought his voice was good but his look couId have been better. Not to undermine this, this was AMAZING! Joker and all, I hope there is a sequel/another one because I LOVE Red Hood!
the anger, hatred and violence shown in Jason is perfect the guy playing him did a great job.
Simon, I can't wait for the second Red Hood!!!! It's going to be great!!!
you and me both!! :D
Some parts I didn't understand. The Joker poured gas on him as Robin and dropped the lighter so why wasn't he badly burned as Red Hood? And who killed Batman?
The Lazarus Pit probably? It may have healed all of his wounds and scars or something
Holy shit. Usually fight scenes in fan films look a bit slow and sloppy. This film looked fast and ferocious. I love it
This was a masterpiece I think only problem with the jokers was his ability to go from cynically playful to down right void and ominous
*joker
This is beautiful and I didn’t know how much I needed this in my life till now. I love the fight scenes and the costumes. Phenomenal work!
after watching the first episode of the red hood retcon series and realizing how they butchered the character of jason todd in every sense by turning him into deadpool i watched this and it was such a relief... you guys nailed it!!!...
+Pradeep Sethi Thank you!
It's only there first episode. Don't judge the series by its first episode.
Looks like someone isn't familiar with the character.
The voice of joker is perfect but with less creepy smile
