Great Tutorial - provides a deep-dive level of detail on how to effectively use the content aware trace tool!!!
Excellent explanation. Thanks!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Never seen this method before, seems somewhat convoluted in my opinion. A better alternative which is similar would be to make a selection of the subject then just convert that selection into a path. You can then move the handles to get a better selection or add/ remove parts of path to improve it further.
yea, but the case of defined edges, I think you can use this to make paths faster and you can still adjust the handles etc of the path..
I'm not a big user of paths but this seems to be a lot quicker if I need to.... Thanks!!!
I'd love to try this!
Pure magic.Thanks
never used this method but good to know .
I didn't know about it, but I'm going to start using it now! Thanks Colin!
I will definitely use it. Useful explanations of pen tool which had me totally perplexed. I have been using PS for at least 10 years and never ceased to be amazed by all its complexities
That was a new one! I am pretty happy with the pentool, use it a lot and find it easy. And I can see that with this feature it is going to be even easier. Thank you so much Cafe Chef...!
I'm always interested in ways to improve selections. Thanks for demonstrating a new one.
Awesome ... thanks for the tip
Beautiful
Nice too watch pen tool operation with which I have encountered some difficulties. Will return to this I think; quite a lot to digest. Thanks Bailieston boy
thank you
Do you use Photoshop on iPad? If so, I'd love some videos like the ones you do on iPad ❤️. Love your videos. 💗
Really enjoyed this adventure in to the 'dark' nether regions of PS! :-) Just when you foolishly think you've started to figure things out along comes another magic, secret tool. Definitely going to have to practice but your instructional techniques are very effective at answering the 'what-ifs' Thank you. Got frustrate at first as the pen selection would not show up after rebooting PS but found a tip to also go to Edit/Toolbar and Reset to Defaults. Magic presto!
Something to keep in my back pocket for use when I get more skilled in PS.
if its not working go to the "edit" menu at the top of ur screen, at the bottom of the menu you'll see an option that says "toolbar". This menu allows u to hide/move around ools in ur toolbar. content aware tracing may be hidden. drag it to the area u want
, Your All tutorials r brilliant lot of love and one thing if u speak begginer english in easy words and slow accent not speak fast so everyone will understand ur words easily its my suggestion 😊
First one here, amazing tutorial
I have never figured out the pen tool. Maybe I'll try again.
Great video. But I restarted PS and my computer several times and still i can not find the tool. Can you help me find it please?
Very interesting. But is this the simplest way to obtain a selection ? 🤔
No, this is the simplest way to make a path which gives a cleaner selection
@@photoshopcafe Thank you. 👍👍
@@photoshopcafe but it looks tedious and seems to take "hours" ...
Is this a new feature? I have PS 2017
like the idea but still can't get it to show as an option in pen panel!!
Use the Edit, Toolbar menu sequence to move the new tool over to the active side, pen group.
@@robertstonephoto brilliant! That was a 'learning' tool on it's own, cheers Robert, sorted. onwards and up upwards..
@@robertstonephoto Thank you!
Followed your directions and it is not showing up in the Pen Tool Menu.
Make sure you restart photoshop.
I have. Several times.
@@avfuels check to see which set of tools you are using, if set to photography it won't show up but under essentials it does
@@texasbigwhitedog6683, Thank you.
this method is literally a thousand times more difficult than just using the polygonal lasso tool
Yes, but you cant select rounded shapes with polygon lasso. For the fastest selection, use auto select.
This method produces print quality edges with paths, which are unmatched in edge definition. If you don't need that quality, use auto select. I have dozens of selection tutorials on my channel.
Using the polygonal lasso tool is one of the worst ways to select a person or objects with curved edges. The pen tool, although time consuming to use, will give you the cleanest/sharpest edges possible.
Set playback speed 1.75x thank me later
Useless tool unfortunately, never used, regular pen is the best Great tutorial by the way.
NNNo!
Way to complicated!
