    Why did you make a “how to” video, with the main purpose off camera?
    1. Show the material used.
    2. Show the tool used.
    3. Show how to use the tool on the material.
    Else write a pamphlet....I mean all I learned from this video is you wear rain gear when cutting glass...

      Not really a "How to" video. It's simply a way that I found works. #1 - the material used is obvious because I said what it is. #2 - refer to #1, #3 - pretty self-explanatory, even a monkey can figure it out. If that's all you learned then watch the videos that I had to watch in order to come up with this solution.

    For the beer bottles just go slow. They will crack much easier because they are a thinner glass then the bigger wine, whiskey,vodka style bottles

    Your ideal came out very nice because i went and bot a cheap bottle cutter from Hobby Lobby and bad move and then ran hot and cold water over the bottles and it still didn't work at all and i had 12 Jack Daniel bottles and all of them broke because that cheap cutter was just a joke and junk to so i decide to go out and buy myself a tile saw and then go back and got down to business and all so i bot myself a pair of glasses when i was there because i knew i was going to get wet and it was going to be a big mess all so to but its worth the money to go out and buy a wet saw and to get wet to because it'll get the job done and done the right way to but i got more then 8 to 10 Vodka Bottles that came out very nice and all so too Fireball Bottles that came out very nice too and a couple of Jack bottles that are leaving for Kentucky Friday Or Saturday and when i came across your ideal i went out right away and bot myself a wet saw and eye wear and then got down to business for sure and they sure all came out nice and i love your ideal and still love it too

    Why cut the bottom of the bottle off?

    • @theaton1
      @theaton1  5 лет назад +3

      I have a bar in the basement of my house and needed to add lights. I seen the idea of the Jack Daniels bottles being used but could not find a good way to cut the bottoms off without destroying the bottle and couldn't find a good way to do it anywhere until I had the idea of using a wet saw or tile saw. After I got the hang of cutting them I was able to make the lights I needed out of them. I have 6 hanging Jack Daniels lights in my bar now that look great and work perfectly.

      JDtheR dot com Good idea. I think some of the best bottles are those frosted gin and vodka bottles, especially those with decorative writing. I hate chucking things away when l can see a potential use.

    $60 for a saw, $15 for a blade and you'll cut 20 bottles in a few hours.
