I thought the sisters of mercy handed this to the state as part of the apology for the atrocities that happened?are the state selling the building or the sisters?
It would be delightful to watch you do virtual tours of old houses & farms, how exciting !! What news on the 'Lockdown' ?? Here in NYC/New Jersey/CT - we are opening up fully except gyms 50% by May 19th, and fingers crossed by July 1st - The USA opens its borders - Looking forward to when Ireland opens its borders again - One can only hope !!
What is the history of this place ? My gran suffered terribly by the hands of nuns as did many women & children .It would have to be a benefit for the community to balance out the bad .

yea, when the number of nuns got small, they moved into a big bungalow in the town. They were very popular locally but I think they have all passed away at this stage.
i have a dream.. and my dream is to come to Ireland and have a business that benefits the people of ireland.. a creche (daycare) but i had a farm in mind.. so that we can educate on horticulture and also provide a place for parents to leave their tiny ones at an affordable rate.Get the very same parents to volunteer time. Teach kids about living of the land & foraging & provide education on nutrition.. also a place where parents can come have a wee bit of fun parties at night no liquor (oh no) just adults..a date night of sorts.. while we mind the lil ones..Couple of hours on friday once a month..? Who knows what those nuns got up to in Ireland. Ive heard horror stories in regards to babies and children. No way would I want to buy into that Horror.
A lot of those stories were exaggerated. At the time, you didn't have prenatal health care and nutrition that you have now. My own grandmother lost two babies during the emergency and they were well off having a farm. Tough times to be living through. Not all the nuns were bad but there were some right bad eggs. It's the same characters that are teachers and social workers today just changed garbs.
It's true and a good point, we don't really know the extent of it as many were oprressed and silenced. There is still a cover up, as many don't want to acknowledge it, both locally and at government level. You can look into the Tuam mother and baby home, with regard to the dead babies to find out more and the good work that is being done by some to bring recognition and honor the lost babies and the children still alive who survived and all who suffered imensily at the hands of 'the Church' as we call it here.

Once you start to find out about An Taisce and their crazy schemes. Find out about failed projects at Mullaghmore and the rock of cashel, they had to teardown.
95.000 sounds about right for an annual heating bill
This made me LOL 😂😂
Aha. But it is haunted....? 👀
It is. It's definitely haunted.
And why wouldn’t it be? All that chaste nonsense in the very fabric of the place! 😟

I've been watching too many skating videos lately, because my first thought was ROLLER RINK!
I am so excited for derelict House tours!!
Great ideas keep them coming g🥰
I'd buy it just for the pitch pine - beautiful wood!

Go to Margaret Gallagher’ in Northern Ireland! There are lots of videos about her on RUclips.
Would be fabulous as a wedding venue 😍 church and everything on site !! I wonder would that be considered community use 🤔 probably not 💔
One of my dreams is to buy a former church with stained glass and live in it. I think that would be amazing.
maybe can just do a community disco for the kids once a month, and live in the big bit!

I need 4 cool Canadians to go in on this with me! We could each hang out there for 3 months! Fun!
Fascinating! Canadian, but it has to be used for educational or community purposes!

That’s cool! Thanks 🙏🏼
Would it be ok to turn it into a musical venue for trad music?
Have you considered the impact of the planned Abbeyfeale bypass?
safer traffic to our wonderful unconventional unschooling school!
Maggie I pray your ok you’ve not posted for ages? Sending love and hope your just busy? 🙏💖
or use the chapel for a weekly house party,10 euros a ticket, and live in the big bit.
Ideal place for the homeless
Good god no!. There would be junkies everywhere. The responsible thing to do would be knock it and social housing.
It’s next to a secondary school and a national school
Was it sold?

What do you think it’ll go for? I’m on the fence 😂
@@CheapIrishHouses I should imagine lot more than the guide prices cheap that get ppl interested are you putting the details on your Instagram Maggi
Not when a serious buyer looks at it. You have to deal with builders, An Taisce and impossible planning constraints. That will reduce the price.
95k is probably the lowest bid?
It’s the guide price :) not exactly like a minimum bid but quite similar xx
Hi! I'm an outsider from India. I would be shifting to Ireland and working there as a Medical doctor. I wanted some help in buying land. Is it possible for me to buy land somewhere near Dublin and construct my own house?
It's very expensive, and planning is strict, Dublin is extremely expensive, vulture funds are buying everything, causing inflation.
