After my 35 year break from drumming in a band to raise a family, I started getting back into it again and I had learned most of this on my own, but never knew the actual basics of everything until I watched this video. Thanks for this - never seen the essentials explained so well. I'm a guitarist who's recently been trying to learn Cubase (DAW) to record and create some tracks. Got myself a Midi controller with pads to try and get some basic rhythms going - this collection has been fantastic at getting a feel for the different beats and to actually tap them out rather than rely on programming them. In just a couple of hours I've improved so much.
After 40 years of wanting to play drums, I finally bought a kit. It was this video that motivated me to start my journey. I am very excited to begin my journey. I hope old dogs CAN learn new tricks.

Hi Emma .. What are your thoughts and what is your routine to warm up before a gig/practice ? Also and do you sing while playing ??? I tend to bump the metronome up a few BPMs and do a go through a couple of exercises In the Stick Control book before practice.. Thanks
I love your videos ! Have that electric set with the TD10 computer but never played out using them which would take forever to set up . I paid $ 550.00 which is quite a lot for a practice set , how much did you pay for yours ? Thanks for the work you put into your videos ! Brings back some great memories of past teachers !

I found easier for me all the pads be slightly turned to me like kind of 45 degrees then have them flat and how about some fills with double kick do u have any suggestions ?thank you for your vid and time
Cool...I've already crossed the 40yo barrier, I've never learnt to play any instrument (because I was always told more or less explicitly as a kid that I'm musically illiterate and therefore stopped trying) but watching these videos made me seriously consider getting an e-drum kit and start to learn to play the drums! Maybe I'm not so shitty after all, let's find out...😬

Usually play offset facing left then the next day I have to move everything to sit square on, then repeat... 😂 Also my Pearl Demon XR Double pedals always leave my hi-hat feeling like it's in the wrong place?
