i'm 40 this year and just hit almost exactly one year of climbing about twice a week. I have plateaued hard but i'm loving it despite needing to take a month off here and there with finger injuries. So glad i found this sport and to anyone similar aged reading don't think its too late to start.

The Figure 4 that Louis did at 25:40 was so awesome. Magnus and Louis are both explosive and powerful but in such different ways it was so fun to watch them climb together. A dream collab!!!!

Please post more of these comp videos, they're always super interesting. When I used to climb a lot i only went to comps very rarely, but i feel like i can learn a lot from these videos for my current sports.
Amazing video, I would love to see more of this type of competitive stuff. Of course it would be great to see you in the finals, but honestly I think the less stressful POV of "hey I am here for fun, no stress whoops almost made it to the finals" works really well.

I think the silica based new chalk product can be hazardous to lung function (silicosis) if the dust is inhaled. You should probably abstain from using it, at least indoors. You endanger yourself and others.

I was hopping for Magnus to make it through the finales until the very end, but it looks like the youth is crazy good. The climbing level of the international athletes is so high nowadays, competing against young GB national team members is such a challenge. Hope to see other competition videos, the stake and the tension make it fun to watch
I believe its easy content, its more entertaining than just climbing without anything in stakes. So basically i love your comp videos and even more outside videos with or without climbing are usually top

Getting 8th on this is crazy good. If you went back to real competition training, and trained more slab, you could definitely do really well in "real" competition! I get that that's not where your goals are anymore and you're focussing on youtube now, but it's just really cool to see what a 'retired' athlete can still do!

Quite a few comps work like this but there’s not really any incentive to lie because you’ll look stupid in the finals, it will be quite obvious to the hundreds watching.
This is very inspiring, even if you don't make it to finals it's really cool to see those who do make it. They have a talent, not everyone can have. Something they worked hard to achieve. I look forward to the next comp you do.
I compete at our local wall. Im 60. I won it (in the legends category) 2 years ago. I had a hip replacement last year and now im trying to win it again. He, and probably you, have got years of climbing ahead of you.
