😂😂😂😂😂
..who'se going to tell them?
Totally agree on the first reading tip, never got why people recommend reading the questions first as I always found myself jotting down more wrong answers than when I read the text slowly first
I totally agree! I consider myself to be a VERY STRONG reader, but my 2023 Princeton Review SAT Prep book (yes, you read that correctly, the Princeton Review) told me to use this strategy! On test day, it was a disaster. I was guessing, and when the time was up, I still had an ENTIRE PASSAGE unread! Truly an awful strategy, would not recommend to anyone. I am so glad this video has cleared this up. Thanks Preaching P!
Actually that was funny but it depends on a person there are some people that can never understand a passage if they read it or they get bored, it advisable for some people to read the questions first.@@kylemccormick3450
Bro is speaking facts. Probably one of the most realistic SAT videos I've seen. Thank you!
As someone who is an avid reader and writer in my free time your intro was great so much truth 🙌
Okay I watched this video and attempted my second reading section and my score went from 300 to 380. The advice on carefully reading the passage taking 5 mins is soooo helpful. So happy I found this video.
This is the single greatest SAT reading video I have ever see.
Thank you so much bro. I legit failed my last reading section but what you said truly put me on. Preesh u earned a new sub fr
Telling me to actually pay attention for 2 minutes worked 😂 thank you for combating my unmedicated ADHD

I know I'm here further behind most people watching this video, but I'm about to take my first SAT this October, and thank god that I met this video before taking the test. Thank you so much for your advice and sincere opinions. I promised that after October if my score went above 1500+, I would return to this video and thank you. Right now, thank you for one of the greatest pieces of advice I can ever ask for, promise that I won't let you down. 😊
How are you preparing for it? im taking the October one too
@@sportsprogressive2656 I’m actually doing a self study with Princeton 2024 review, I’m not a professional but I recommend try different version with Barron, Khan Academy is also very helpful.

are these tips eligible for DSAT?
@@zzxxzzz33683 I mean the clip is pretty much a while ago, his tips can still be used with out current SAT even though it’s shorter.
seeing this for the first time, I love it got some tips from it🤗😊
I usually don't get y people answer questions without reading.
I wish RUclips gave me this vid weeks ago cus my first SAT in Saturday lol. I will take your advice for the exam and see how well I do man. Subbing instantly.
Lmao same

couple weeks late but I got a 1550 on the October SAT and its all thanks to mr preaching p
Congratulation man, good job@@gsheichuckavorte6200
Thank you for making this I hit that wall u described with a 720 in the English section partially due to my grammar but I also had 4 wrong in reading my ones wrong were in the science passages so I’ll purchase the book u recommended for that 👍🏻
You were actually god sent cause my sat is day after and till now I was struggling in the reading. I tried this and it helped so much
good luck, I'm also taking december 3rd sat
@@thecommontruth me2 good luck to all

@@cxpemasked9444 what did you get
WHAT DID YOU GET
honestly, W vid bro. I was getting 600-670 prior for English Section with the reading being the biggest score fluctuater. As I get 800s consistently for the Math section, I am sure I can hit the minimum of 1500 now. possibly even get a 1700 with practice
1700 lol
@@zinswastaken lmaooooo
Though I saw this video after My sat today. This is how I do my reading and I always have enough time to even go back and redo questions.
I’m emigrating in my 3rd year of highschool, I feel very underprepared, excited, scared, hopeful. Thanks for the video.

yoo same lol im from nz
good luck everyone
my second language is English so understanding the reading section is actually a lot easier than most people...
if you need help interpreting a passage here are some tips:
*underline TONE words to help you discover the purpose of a characters attitude towards something.
*understand the time period of the passage
*if experiment, understand why the experiment happened and underline this
*reading slowly and underlining (think with your pen) it helps your brain remember topics and brain interpreting it.
Bro it's amazing that each points do make alot of sence
as someoone who got 99th percentile score in English without studying, all ur advice is 100% spot on. its also what I did differently from classmates who scored lower than me
I will give my sat 1 year later could give me some tips I could do to get high sat scores (like reading 10 new words and meaning every day etc, something tagt doesn't alot of time but can be done over a long time and will cause it to be effective)
Don't usually drop comments, but dropping this because of how much work he put into this vid
i got some solid advice from this video, i just wish i saw this video sooner because my test is in about 35 hours
What did you get ?
Thank you! I always thought that the reading questions first tip didn't make sense, it always made me waste time
THE BROWN REFRENCES ARE SO ON POINT
your speaking skills are actually crazy
This helped me so much!! THANK YOU!
This is a very good video regarding SAT reading I really would’ve benefited alooot from it if not for seeing it for the first time 24 hrs before my exam . Idk why it didn’t pop up earlier to me ,anyways thank you very much for this advice
Same here
I'm not even taking the SAT, I'm retaking the ACT for the last time, have a 26 currently, but this advice works for ACT as well (I have a current score of 35 for the reading section). This is legit what I do to have that score. This works.
got a 400 in reading with no prep on my first sat practice test but watching this video just to get more tips 💪💪
Yay got this video right after I finished SAT…
I always had trouble with reading and comprehension and it made me think i had a small amount of dylexia. t is just that i need to practice more. Ty.

@@smritikarki4422 wait what do you mean by share
I did your method in the test practice and I started getting 9-11 in each part in the English but time wasn't enough to either attempt or complete the last part
This is pretty useful for the SHSAT as well

Thx bro ur Acc a life saver. Keep goin bro
Thank you so much man ❤
THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH!
Thank you brother! ❤
thanks for the video it really helped
I may not be Asian but I am brown (dark Mexican American) and my mentality all the way from elementary state testing was I know I can get a 100 on math but I never pushed my self higher than 2 questions or a question and a mark of my essay in reading, this really opened my eyes to push myself in English and not just fall back on the fact I'm good with math
Can someone help me because the Princeton review textbook says to never read the whole passage for the reading section and I don’t want to follow that but at the same time I always get low 600s on English section when I read the whole passage like he said in this video what should I do
Do you annotate when you read throughout the passage?
5:50 Would this still be true since the SAT is going digital? Instead of having a long passage and many questions specifically for that passage, I think it's now a paragraph and a specific question for that paragraph. (I may be wrong, but that's how it is on the official Bluebook practice tests now)
But the command of questions take me too long, what can I do ?
My teachers always told us reading the questions before reading the passage will help but I had a different opinion. I never listened to that because like he said in the video 🙂
Are there any such books for ACT reading?
I am dying, why didn't I see this video earlier. Now I can't even finish the 40 passage when I buy that history book :(((((
really solid video
Quick question tho, what was your SAT study routine like with school and everything? (How much u studied, how often, did u do math more than reading, ect)
I was straight grinding about 5 days a week during the summer with 2 study sessions a day. In addition, I was doing a full length practice test every week. During the school year, I know it gets busy, but you have to get in your hours. I would study for AT LEAST 1-2 hours a day 4-5 days a week with a practice test EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Once it got closer to the exam, I increased this to two practice tests a week and i bumped up my studying hours to ~3hrs on several days in a week (I did this for about 2-3 weeks). As long as you're pacing yourself and not getting too burnt out, definitely increase the volume of practice significantly in the weeks before your exam. You will thank yourself so much for it.
@@preachingp appreciate it

I wish there was Turkish language support, my English is not good so I don't understand the information you gave. thanks for everything
Thank you man! Love your techniques. This is mine. But there are a lot of shitty techniques, were distracting me.
Blud said let’s keep it a stack on a sat reading video
are these tips still applicable for the dsat?
Guys.. I was scoring good,,, not each time I take practice test my reading and writing setion score keeps getting lower i have tests in 4 dayss.. I am freaking out here help me

Did you take the PSAT? can you make a video about the PSAT too, please?
how can i apply to a IV league school with a 1200 SAT score? Asking for a friend :3
how did you develop such an amazing speaking skill, what literature do you recommend reading?
video dropping on public speaking soon... 👀
thanks sm for this vid! what's ur opinion on the complete guide to SAT reading by erica l. meltzer? it's more of a strategies book but there are some good exercises in it as well
I’d say it’s quite good btw there’s a new guide by Erica for the digital sat
It’s basically a newer edition specifically for the digital sat
no bc i been doing this and I’ve been improving because of it hopefully i manage my time consistently tho 😭
My whole problem is comprehension, it takes me a while to understand the point of the passage and so at least for me your strategy of completely reading and understanding won’t work but if it works for you then that good 👍
Thank you ❤
LMAO, THIS GUIDE IS SO GOOD
"You're getting a bunch of sh.. stuff wrong." Bro keeping it PG. Respect 😂
thank you!!!!!!!
Yo bro, I believe the first part about not reading the question does not really apply in the case of the Digital SAT since it has shorter passages and short questions. Might wanna check that out and let your audience know.
i think this videos is primarily directed to people in the us taking the paper exam. not for international students.
@@shamisaziracrow Isn't US going digital in 2024 tho
@@ayaanrege8109 yes but this is an older video so I'm guessing that's why its focused on paper
It’s sad that these tips will only work for only one more SAT. Because they are switching to Digital
As an Asian with immigrant parents, I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggles with the reading section
I watched this after I got a 690 Reading, now I’m pushing an 800 this video is actually so helpful
