I took delivery of my Canik TTI Combat in June of 2024. I proceeded to go to the range and shoot it with my standard 124 grain 9mm Sellier & Bellot (that I use on all my guns, including PPC with 0 issues). Nearly every other round would NOT fire. It was easy and quick to notice that the slide was not going back into battery. Pushing the slide with my thumb would temporarily “resolve” the issue, after another round was shot, then the cycle would start again. I immediately stopped and went out to the pro shop to purchase different weights and brands of 9mm loads just in case the gun was sensitive to a specific load or brand. Of 4 different brands and 3 different weights, NONE made a difference. All malfunctioned at the same or worse frequency. Incidentally, I do not reload my own ammunition; I only use quality rounds. All brass, all well known, well tested brands. I stopped, disassembled the gun and tried the included light spring. The problems got even worse. For the record, I am an experienced shooter, and I do not limp wrist. I invited other shooters in the range to come in and try it (just to make sure it was not me that was mishandling the gun in any way). They had either the same or worse experiences and a lot of raised eyebrows. Note that I own a Canik TP9SFX and I have not had a SINGLE issue with it. I absolutely LOVE that gun and purchased the TTI Combat based on my previous experience with Canik. At that point, I stopped (after about 200 rounds) and went home to thoroughly clean the gun as I heard rumors that the gun must be cleaned before it is shot, or that it requires xxx of rounds to “break in” the gun. A day later, after a thorough cleaning and inspecting all the parts, including purchasing two additional brand-new magazines, I went back to the range and bought new ammo in 119, 124, 148 and subsonic 160 grain. The TTI Combat malfunctioned the same way with either spring or either magazine. I went back home and sent out a message to Canik through their online service form including taking a picture of the slide when it was out of battery. Within 1 day, I received a very professional response from Canik stating that they recognize the issue and that they would be sending me through FedEx a new spring and to only use that one. I received the new spring that Canik sent within 2 days of my email/conversation. WOW. Ever since, the gun has NOT had a single malfunction. Not on ANY brand of ammo, ANY grain or ANY shooter. The problem was 100% fixed thanks to the new recoil spring assembly. In conclusion, I have to say that ANY company in ANY industry may experience problems. It is the way you HANDLE the problem, and you interface with the client base that makes all the difference. My experience with customer service at Canik was not mediocre, was not good, was not great, it was IMPECCABLE! Hence, I want to THANK the Canik service team for the manner and the matter in which they have handled this issue and resolved it satisfactorily. THANK YOU! I am a big fan and a return client.
@@richardw2801 I have a Mete SFT Pro with Taylor Freelance brass backstrap, magwell, and mag extensions. Along with a Springco recoil/striker kit, and Disruptive Defense Dual port comp, a FreedomSmith trigger, it shoots pretty good! (115gr/124gr/147gr). Shoots better to me than a stock Rival-S. But a stock Rival-S with a comp like this TTI, I think, would be golden.
I have a Canik TP9 SF Elite. I never heard of Canik prior. To the purchase of my TP9 SF. I purchased my Canik to replace my Sig Sauer P320. As a every day carry gun. I think I just found my next model of Canik to buy. I love ❤️ what I'm seeing with this Taran Tactical Canik.

Im picking up my tti combat tomorrow. I had no intention on buying a gun. Just went in to check out a new shot and there it was. My mistake was picking it up. ❤
I had 6 minutes till my next call and 12 min video. Thank God for closed caption! Yours is the comparison I was waiting for as a Rival-S shooter. I had never pulled the trigger on Patreon, despite subbing to at least 200 YT channels. You're my first because your content is consistently great man.
Hands down BEST review of the TTI to date!! Awesome content!! Love it! I have one on preorder & now after watching this I'm even MORE excited to get it in my hand. Hopefully in about 20 days it arrives?? ❤🔥🤞🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.
Good video thanks! Funny I was just looking at the weights of the poly Rival and Rival S last night. Lok and Taylor Freelance have options to add more weight to the poly but only about 6-8 ounces I believe with both backstrap and mag well. The Lok brass grips for the Rival S I believe are over 12 ounces. Bottom line is the poly can only get to 38-ish ounces whereas the Rival S starts at 40 ounces and can get 55-ish with Lok grips and magwell. I'm hoping this TTI offering moves people toward those and away from the Rival S so I can locate the stainless version for MSRP. The Walther Steel Frame may be the best choice but the price delta is rough. Have a great Easter sir!
I have the TF brass backstrap and a TLR-1 HL on my Rival. It is the perfect weight at 35.1oz IMO, and the light pulls the gun right back down on target. Makes clearing plate racks and spinners a breeze.
Been waiting forever for someone to give commentary review on the M03 optic. Haven’t seen anyone yet. Thanks for giving insights. Maybe another separate video just about the optic? Great job on the review in general! Would love to get one instead of the Rival-S but that comp would out me in other classifications for USPSA and PCSL, I think? 😬 Thanks again. Love your channel!! Dadding well in Minnesota! 👍🏼😄
I'm glad to see some info on this especially from you since these are always reliable as a good idea of the gun (except for how heavy the 92x perf is in hand LOL). I'm first on the list at my local shop for one of these.
Excited to see your match up against the shadow systems. I have a MR920 Elite with the Compensator, so im hesitant to bother with the TTI Combat. Although I really love Canik Pistols.

Dang it...First was going to get the Rival Dark Side then the Rival - S came out and now the TTI Combat!!! I know, why not all 3...lol. Thinking the one that's going to win the decision will be the TTI Combat meeting in the middle of the three.
