You shouldn't cut the wires near the switch, if it doesn't start the first thing a thief will do is pop the panel and reconnect the wire in less than 3 minutes!, Trace the wires back under the dash then splice

Another words go buy a wrecked Hellcat Charger from an auction with a certificate of destruction (as opposed to a salvage title) that has no reserve on the price. Destruction cars are way cheaper to start with bc they can never be put back on a U.S road again so they're only good for parts or race cars..Unless they're being exported. In that case they get a clean title in the new country..Atleast that's the case in Cameroon Africa where i send the cars to....Then unbolt bolts..It's simple...The cars look different but the Gen 2 and 3 Chargers as well as 300s all share the same platform therefore they all have the exact same bolt holes for everything on the car except for the exterior body panels. The interiors are different but they bolt right in too.
EDIT: A cert. Of destruction Hellcat Challenger just went off at IAA for $6,500...Chargers go for the same money..Either way 10 grand will get you a donor car and a 6 banger car.

Just installed one on my 17 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Tap into the red wire like you said. I tried the black wire first out of curiosity and it didn’t work. Auto start works when flipped off which is huge! Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼

Thing is with this setup I could still steal the car...A repeater box and an autel key programmer go a very long way..Do the fuel pump and hide the switch and wiring very well...Like mount the switch to the floor pan under the seat and cover the switch with carpet

Adding an on/off switch at the WCM aka push start module can be done to any vehicle that has a push start.
Better would be at the fuel pump wires, battery wires or at the ecu. Install one at the mutifuse.

Very Helpful Solution Especially for SRT Owners Great Video!!!!
I had to do this on my 2012 300 a few years back because of a transmission issue. The transmission would hold the ignition open so I couldn't shut off the car completely and the battery would drain. I wired my switch to the ignition fuse in the fuse box in the trunk and up into the cabin. It was a lot cheaper than having some dealership bumble around with the car and charge me by the hour while doing it.
Why not use a remote controlled relay like the mild to wild since the frequencies are so hard to duplicate? program it to the homelink (garage kit) and now its even more discrete. Great idea though!

There is a wire harness you can buy to T in between your factory harness and the push button. I went that route on mine because I didn't wanna cut into the factory harness at all. And should I need to/want to go back to 100% stock I can super easily. The harness was about $70 so many may say that's stupid but compared to a new harness it's well worth it to me. Super easy install.

Best solution u can install it ob any car. Espessialy would recomend on new cars. My father used to install it on every new car he bought, mainly in 90’s era cars, when car theft was a huuuge thing. Next to the driver seat, under florr matt. U had to touch it to get electricity pass trough. It was always hard to find. Without touching that button car wont start. It is Good in black box era, when stealing a car takes about 6 to 10 seconds. With that switch car wont start. Very Good idea!!
Just did my kill switch install. Actually got 2 switches in line in 2 different locations in the car. Also if you forgot to disconnect your battery like me. If something doesn't seem right and you RF module doesn't work, check fuse F51 because it might be blown.

You didn’t have to mess with the negative cable ?? And what wire goes to what on the switch? The red wire connected to the button still to ground and the one connected to the car to the positive wire on the button ? Is that how you have it ?

So if you can still start the car with the remote start can’t it still be stolen with those black box things they’re using? I installed one on my car but at the time of the install I wasn’t aware that you could override it with remote start. I thought the black box worked like a remote start. Correct me if I’m wrong? I rarely drive my car anywhere because of the fear of it being stolen

If your hot wiring that car, your not worried about that section of the harness anyway. Would be best to go down and hook this into the signal wire for the starter...
Good video and I love that 300 S … Only Bad thing is once the thief knows it’s a kill switch he’ll simply pop off the instrument panel and reattach the kill switch wire on the start button ☹️ so other measures should be added like a shock/tilt sensor and your good.
Sure but he would have to have enough guts and enough time to strip and reattach the wires before I get to him. I think the real problem is so many people are doing this that unless the switch is really hidden well, most thieves will know there's a kill switch as soon as they hit the start button and get no action, and they'll just look for the "hidden" switch and probably find it fairly quickly. Have one of your friends try to find yours.
No car is un-steal-able. But if u make your car a lil harder to steal then the other ones in the neighborhood, then your typically pretty good. 😆

Great video & info. Got one question. Where do you ground the switch. Or is the ground wire on the switch used to extend the wire for the other end of the wire for the ignition switch
The switch is wired in series, it doesn't need to be grounded.
I put one in my '65 Impala after 1 attempt stolen 30 yrs ago. And it's been tried 2 times after that no luck for dumb thieves and maybe 20 bucks out of pocket... I used a key kill switch lil extra security.
