@@SkyWrathOp Indigenous isn't the right way. The OEM should be requested to make the upgrade to make sure a smooth transition in the upgrade package and also reliability. HAL isn't reliable

Very informative video as usual 😊, but there's one thing that vexes me 😓. In drone technology we are really behind, even pak istan has their own indigenous drone burraq, both recon & armed versions. It took us 8 yrs for the rustom project, when Bharat bought heron drones from Israel, we could've bought it with ful TOT, then later on worked on making it armed. India started taking it seriously due to tension with Chi na. Had they taken the initiative before we would've already had our own armed drones.

Is their any way the radar cross section of su 30 mki be reduced in super sukhoi upgrade, i know you cannot do it without any structural or airframe change, but i would like to know your thoughts.

Engine may pose some problem in the upgradation program. Russian engines are big and bulky in comparison to American/ European engines. Fitment may pose some practical problem.

The gallion based radar is underdeveloped,So no Israeli radar.Engine is doubtful,yes Indian systems can easily fire both Israeli and Russian weapon.
Russian SS also includes multiple missiles to be carried on a single pylon. But we need to urgently change our radar to AESA as BARS is now outdated. Hope our Sukhois are upgraded soon......

They have already screwed up SU 30 MKI with a mix of French & Israeli components. Now they are going to screw it some more - they are treating a fighter jet like a car which a kid on the block buys & modifies. In the end the car is neither fast nor reliable but the Kid is quite proud of his handiwork.
It's 2022 January and nothing progressed so far. TBH EL/M-2052 radar with desi cockpit and desi or procured OLS is a good option. As for the engine, a more powerful engine would also improve thrust/weight and counter Chinese Su-35.

I think India should go for AL 41 engine because it has greater life which will be beneficial in the long run.
OEM se hi upgrade karwani chahiye HAL se nahi. HAL ka upgrades on Russian platform has been horrible. I mean just check the number of Russian aircraft crashes in India and compare it with that of other nations.

The systems for MWF will be ready for induction by 2030. If you start induction of those systems in Super Sukhoi then to refit 270+ Super Sukhoi will take another 4-5 years. It will be time to start retiring these aircrafts by 2040 as some of the airframes would have completed its flight hours.
Even if by 2030 these upgrades are completed on the super Sukhoi, it will be a fighter still lacking behind others as by then 5th gen fighters will be in huge numbers everywhere and some 6th gen prototypes will be flying around.
We do the same mistake everytime and that is get too excited and over ambitious, keeping things simple we should simply go the Russian way as 270+ number of any fighter is sufficient to justify any changes in logistics regarding spares and maintenance

indigenous system will take more tym to mature and they wont be operational before 2025.but su30 will be operational for only 15 years from now so upgrading them to super sukhoi at the end of their life wont make any sense as we operate these jets in large no it will take more time to upgrade these jets so its better if we go with russian package
