  • The in-house CFD code NUMBERS is used for evaluating the performance of the intake. The solver NUMBERS is a structured in-house code which solves the Euler and the Navier-Stokes equations in the compressible flow regime. The turbulence models implemented in the code are Baldwin-Lomax, Spalart-Allmaras /1/ and Menter SST /2/ models. The viscous derivatives are calculated by the least -square method. The equations can be solved by predictor-corrector MacCormack scheme, central-difference Jameson scheme /3/ and upwind H-CUSP scheme

I didn't even triad to explain FD here, it's one of my favourite subjects, I restrained my self to go into details at various point, ppl call it boring, otherwise i was in a mood to explain the whole boundary layer concept, and what a stream line and turbuce flow does to the intake air😄😃

DSI intake is an essential component. Its good to know about OPRDs. There's always tradeoff between using DSI and not using it. Another great video. F22 was designed to go WVR first, but switch to BVR if needed. The USAF required another jet to fill the gaps of F22, a jet than complement it and help in BVR. F35 has a single engine producing a dry thrust of 128KN. It's a significantly larger engine but it is still slow. Thus you would need a DSI. F22 can reach confidentially estimated mach numbers up to 2.6. At such speeds, you need a larger intake and since its a twin engine jet, DSI will only hinder its speed at High Bypass. Its designed to go fast, but yes DSI would help in expelling the intake air at high speeds too. Thus AMCA design uses best of both world technologies

Not 10 years it took them 23 years, design and development started in 1995 and 1st prototype of engine was delivered in 2018 on top of that Japanese had an experience of building Low pressure components for High bypass ratio turbo fan engines for commercial airliners in collaboration with General Electric, Pratt & Witney & Rolls Royce where as we have never worked on any jet engine be it low bypass or high bypass be it in collaboration or solo, Japans partnership in defense technology with the west all these years have helped them a lot to acquire know how of defense tech, we were busy being Soviets puppet at that time who hardly ever transferred any technology to us or set up any joint venture to produce defense hardware in India, comparing Japan who has access to high tech western tech with India is like comparing apple's with oranges however we too need to have our indigenous jet engine there's no question about it.

Technologically India is now a member of elitest group of technologically most advanced countries. India produces cutting edge space products with highest level of technology at cheapest possible price. Such level of precision and prefection is not seen in our western counterparts.
As our drdo chief Dr G Satish reddy always makes it clear that India is self reliant and has become strong in area of missile technology, radar technology, sonars, electronic warfare systems, displays and guns. Our tejas is way ahead in terms of technology when compared to any chiense or russian jet. Russian technology is third grade but cheap while chiense weapons are expensive paper weight copied from russia. Many many more futurstic weapons are being developed by drdo. One of them being laser weapon. Drdo has already developed a 250kw laser weapon which is undergoing testing. And is being taken to more advanced level. India deployed its laser weapon to protect trump during his India visit. China doesnt even have an anti icbm defense system. While Indias anti icbm defense system is way ahead of american thaad. Today no country in the world can sneeze in direction of India let alone harbour the thoughts of attacking us. Even though china had s400 yet they chickned out of doklam. There are many examples where american weapons have been found wanting.

Those who thinks that , without engine it is nothing ! Just check the Whole Tejas programme ! Tejas was delayed due to a continuous design phase & not a fixed design . Engine supply from General Electrics was on time, but due to changes in design led to delay of the programme . Although engine is necessary ! But completing & finalising & fixing a design is a major step towards development of a fighter jet ! & After this design & RCS testing we are just left with work of engine Development & we will surely build our own Indigenous Engine .

It is, but frontal nose cone aspect are elongated more. It's nose cone is larger in comparison to the two. Meaning we can fit a larger AESA radar with higher number of TR modules and still be able to fit more sensors. It also helps is generating lift at low speeds and reduce air drag much better than F35 as per initial study done by ADA.

Defence Decode, what if we make the bump with flexible composites? hmmmm...... then we can make the DSI intakes work for different Mach values.

I always check the progress of AMCA and TEJAS .i m just curious whether is this the world-class aircraft? , better maneuver compare to F22 and Sukhoi 35 ?.is this the best composite material used better stealth than other stealth aircraft available ?

Su 57 is a million moons away from being a 5th gen fighter jet.
Russian technology is third grade but cheap while chienese weapons are expensive paper weight copied from russia. Hardly anyone buys russian arm these days as they are unreliable and require a lot of constant service. China is only customer with a lot of money.
As our drdo chief Dr G Satish reddy always makes it clear that India is self reliant and has become strong in area of missile technology, radar technology, sonars, electronic warfare systems, displays and guns. Our tejas is way ahead in terms of technology when compared to any chiense or russian jet. Tejas rcs is 0.5m2 and tejas mark 1a will have even lesser rcs. While sukhoi rcs is 5m2.. sukhoi will be easily detected by radars at very long. This is just one example of how superiority of tejas.

I got some questions.... Please answer kardijiya......
WHY AMCA??? Why not AHCA (Advance heavy weight combat Aircraft)
If you are spending in Stealth then why not make a Heavy weight Aircraft with Long range and better weapon package?
F-22 can carry 8 internal missiles and AMCA only 4?
AMCA Having a very week BVR Missile compared to F-22 and F-35?
AMCA Have less range than F-22.
(It makes no sense to use Stealth fighter near you border only, if it cannot even go deep in enemy territory where actual defence are installed.
If it will come to China we will not even be able to make a dent in their main land.)
I know you might argue that we never plan on hitting Main land China, we will only defend our Border and etc.etc.
But my question if you are spending money than your weapon should have the capability to take out your enemy entirely.
If you will do it or not will depend on Army and the National policy.
In this times when war rarely happens, we must focus on superior technology rather than human Skills, which will be rarely be tested in Air Combat.
Design wise (Even though not finalised) it’s so much inferior to F-22 or F-35?
And there is no comparison of Engines. (Very inferior engines used in AMCA)
What’s the point of making stealth fighter if it cannot even maintain a standard set by F-22 10 Year's back?
For India maybe we should have focused on suppressing enemy defence system rather than stealth.
I am only stating my genuine concern hope you can find answers to these question.
And hope fully our AMCA will have at least better Stealth than Su-57. Because pretty sure it will be inferior to F-22 when it comes to stealth.
(I So much wish that my concerns are proven wrong by DRDO and Companies getting involved in this Future project of India)
