Great Talk , to my best understanding, the AFCS on Dhruv is from Safran and the Glass Cockpit is from ELBIT... N there is nothing wrong with it ... All Helicopter OEMs buy subsystems incl. sub-systems which are imp from flight safety point of view and can impact the flight envelop of the platform.
We are always reactive, never proactive. We don't have a lot of innovative product that is a first of its kind. We need to change our mindset to be pioneers instead of trying to be on par with the rest.
Regarding website:They can overhaul it something like a car website where a 3D model of plane/products is available and people or customers can view and zoom it from multiple angles and can also equip Indian made or compatible weapon systems.
The armed version of Druv is Rudra. And if you modify the fuselage of a hepter then would it be the same helicopter? No. I think prachand is a different helicopter developed by India. Also, an Apache made an emergency landing in the northern sector with significant damages to the body, making it unfit for flying. So, I think the number is one less.
IAF during the initial stage of the war will be involved in engaging strategic targets in the enemy area. During that period, they can't provide close air support to the Army. Hence, the army requires attack helicopters, which partly solve their problem. The Army also requires CAS fighter aircrafts of subsonic speed, which engage both aerial & ground targets not negotiable by attavk hepters. Example US Army.
Saying that the IAF doesn't deserve to have any or small number of attack helicopters is assuming that IA is coming to help them with their helicopters in case of a land attack on Airforce assets on ground..
HAL has the mentality of a "sarkari business", meaning no effort is made to announce or try for stretch goals. The discussion was interesting in that it pointed out the fact that HAL is, for the majority of its existence, a "Meccano assembly" company, and the aircraft it screws together are so bad, that even the Soviets would not certify them. A more necessary discussion would be asking why HAL, whose predecessors produced aircraft and aircraft parts for WW2, has been unable to conceptualize, design, and build a viable aircraft for India. All high value material, like engines, weapons systems, sensors, etc. are imported. The entire conversation was in the context of what Indian commentators said. Has it ever been field tested against foreign competitors in the numerous games the Armed Forces participate abroad? The 2 Dhruv helicopters sold in South America were a failure. Any analysis on that? How can India expect HAL to change at all, if all it hears are accolades for work that is , by international standards, abysmal.
I feel Prachand should be renamed as dragonfly, if you look at the aerodynamic structure it resembles the dragonfly. I would say dragonfly sound a lot better than prachand. Even in the international market it’s the name that sell first.
I DO NOT understand why airforce has to operate any helicopter apart for the few they need for utility!! As a thumb rule. Anything that does not need a runway to land should be with the army... And anything that need should be with AF. also believe space, air defence, missile defence, icbms should be with the air force.
India's LCH would be a possible option if the Philippine Air Force decides to pivot from 129-ATAK because of delays and engine procurement issues. Assuming HAL would not have any problem delivering. Can it be Navalize?
Order numbers are very very conservative. It should have been atleast 2500 in numbers .just see the numbers with our enemies Pakistan and Chinese. We have to negotiate hilly terrain, deserts ,jungle terrain. We also have to recover POK .Our NSA has no background in 14:46 Millitary operations and Millitary equipment.
Guys, suppose there's Black-box-Booster that supplies a 10-50 percent added power to main shaft for 10 to 30 seconds, at any given altitude..... how useful would this feature be ? The how isn't important at this point.
Prachand -- Colour should be like dark olive blackish like American Apache, specially military Prachand be like Dark green olive. Airforce - Navy can use different colours.
Coupled with unmanned combined, least casualties and maximum impact. Army should be used more to police and target specific areas, clearing surface to air etc
Even after 25years of kargil. Helicopter is not ready for service. Funny ???😄 Moreover, it was flying since 2010 and it is 2024 . No sign of completion with all weapons 😢😢😢
Comparing prachand and Apache is wrong. Apache can be compared with mi35. Prachand can be compared with eurocopter/T129/rovelik south african helicopter
Please do a podcast on Indias Awacs success with Netra program, radar success with swathi and other radar types on naval ships.
Vietnam 🇻🇳 War was a learning curve for the Americans in helicopter designing. Example Armor plates, Kevlar seats, EW pods etc.

HAL website takes full 30 sec to load webpage

Lol, brown coolie spotted. Is Rafale an English name for international market ? You loonies don't understand shit and go about commenting stupidity.
What a lame childish comment.. How old ru?
Any scoop on LUH?
Shiv Aroor is the least celebrated good journalist.
What are the improvements indian armed forces are seeking ?
I too Thought about the Snake
HAL should be an R& D unit and not a manufacturing unit.
We have DRDO for R&D
Please use a tool called Google.
Could you do a podcast on internal security? With special reference to border states.
There is still scope to make Prachand more aerodynamic, especially the belly portion of the helicopter.

Woah...then who has the ICBMs and Air defense right now ?

Looking forward to the HAL ✈️ episode.
Very thankful that we will have SOME close support capability -given the mess of the Tejas programme.

Transport aircrafts meant for troops , ammunition, artilarirs etc. Should be with army?
You guys are making episode for the heck of it. Study the differences of rudra and prachand.
why dont send Prachand to Israel and let them do tinkering with it
We need AI survillance capabilities on these choppers

Prachand -- Colour should be like dark olive blackish like American Apache, specially military Prachand be like Dark green olive.
Airforce -
Navy can use different colours.
Can all the prachand be here by next month? 😂
Don't agree with " Air force alone can win a war" Wish he had given an example.
Coupled with unmanned combined, least casualties and maximum impact. Army should be used more to police and target specific areas, clearing surface to air etc

Did u even see the episode? A simple Google search can save u from embarrassment.
HAL Website… one word to describe it…LAZY!!

sell HAL to ADANI Defense
IAF doesn't have a bomber squadron still😢
Tactical or strategic ?
Disgusting. Put your foot down Shiv.
Why is bro so pressed lol. He is angry as if he didn't get a sarkari job😢
He is actually. He applied for a lot of government jobs before joining India Today.
