- Who is HOMELANDER in 60 Seconds
Homelander in 60 Seconds. In the Boys comic, Homelander is a product of Vought's experimentation. He is created through an experiment involving Compound V, that is administered to him as an unborn fetus. This powerful substance grants him a range of superhuman abilities, including super strength, flight, x-ray vision, heat vision, and a sonic scream.
In essence, he is the equivalent of Superman in this universe. According to the public narrative, Homelander crash-lands on Earth and emerges as the dominant superhero in the United States. He eventually becomes the leader of the Seven, a group of powerful superheroes. However, Homelander grapples with profound mental instability which eventually leads him to adversaries such as Billy Butcher and the Boys.
His descent into utter madness occurs when he discovers the truth: Black Noir in the comics, is an exact clone of Homelander created by Vought, bearing an uncanny resemblance to him. As it turns out, it was actually Black Noir who assaulted Butcher's wife. The assault is what fuels Butcher's relentless thirst for revenge against Homelander. However, Homelander's fate takes a dramatic turn in the comic book version, as Black Noir ends up killing Homelander.

The first thing you see Homelander do in comic is tell Starlight to suck it as part of joining the seven. Literally. He is not a good guy.

He used to be a good person then noir gaslighted him into thinking he’s monster which caused him to act as a monster.

That's different Black Noir.
And then replaces him later 🤦🏽♂️
I do appreciate how in the extra animated series based around “The Boys” they explore how Homelander was genuinely a good dude before he started learning about his true origins an how the trauma of his upbringing only stared making him who he is after his first unsuccessful mission.
Nothing in here suggests hes a good guy...
Based on what we saw in live action, he is actually a good guy in comics, it was black noir all the way.
@@kaif_2124After finding out what black noir did (he thought he did it though) he just became a bad person all the way. All the stuff he did in the comics was what he did despite it originating from black noir. He is not a good guy.

The boys comic homelander being gaslighted by nior in the show the 7 gaslights the world
Good thing this twist is in the bin in the actual show 😂. Plus he's got x-ray vision, and have been showing it off actually telling Noir "i can see right through that mask" in the show, so this thing is full of holes anyway.
In the comics, they likely made Noir's mask out of Zinc, remember they Didn't want him to Know that Noir was his clone, and they would've known what he couldn't see through (like Superman with Lead)
In my opinion, Homelander was a good guy before he was shown the graphic images of some of the atrocities committed by Black Noir. He turned into a psycho, thinking he really did it.
Facts! Obviously he is not a good guy but he likely would have been had he not thought he was such an evil person and didn't remember it.
@@RealQuickComics " not a good guy but not his fault for turning worse" doesn't mean he's a good guy
Did you even read the comic? He was far from a good guy. You might wanna look up the stuff he's done prior to that big reveal at the end.
A good person doesnt do more horrible stuff because they think they did othwr horrible things before
Glad you broke that down better than 0:15 lol its hard for me to take this comic or that herogasm show seriously.
"homelander was actually a good guy " change my mind
So homelander in the show is actually black noir and homelander is already dead that would be a twist

Love these campaign videos to death, keep up the good work
Maybe in an alternate timeline, homelander could've been the greats hero of then all.
He wanted to be a hero and I think deep down he thought of himself as a hero at least until he discovered things that he was supposedly doing and thought he was psycho and ultimately gave into his darker impulses. I love this personally because he is more complex than the TV show makes him.

I didn’t hear a single fact on how Homelander is a “good” dude. You just gave us a quick background recap on him and some of the lore that follows. Lol
I feel like the whole evil clone arc was adapted into TV!Homelanders split personality situation. There is a nice reasomable guy in there, but theres also the side of him that developed as a response to his trauma, and that side is in control.
Homelander is such a great guy he fixes another man's erctile dysfunction in the show 😊

Nowhere does it suggest black noir did just those 3 things. Homelander doesn’t remember doing a lot of the stuff that made him go rogue in the first place. So it’s likely noir is responsible for at least a few others.

Homelander is actually a good guy..... HOLD UP
If a guy named home rizzler is good then the frieza deserves to go to heaven
I think we have very different definitions of 'good guy.'
The fact that the show ruined this possibly really sucks
actually in the comics. Stormfront is a guy and the DNA donor for Homelander. He was the most powerful Supe in existence before Homelander. Further experiments with Compound V while still in the womb make him more powerful than Stormfront and gave him different powers.
Wait, a second a sonic scream that means he can’t fight vililtimites if he wanted to
“Our Hero”.
This man had some long ass arms coming out the belly wth
Who would have thought that an "exact clone" would bear an uncanny resemblance to the original person? Isn't "exact clone" redundant?
This short video did not convince anybody be that Homelander was the good guy
I'm probably the only person who genuinely likes homelander more than anyone on the boys. I actually want him to win.
I guess Homelander had homicidal tendencies from the moment he was born, I mean did anyone notice what happened when he came out of his Mother he disintegrated those doctors with his umbilical cord still attached.
He's only "good" by being too dead to be himself
"EXACT copy...uncanny resemblance " !?
So anyone with Photoshop could gaslight Homelander into believing he does charity work on Thursdays?
People will try anything to make a villain look like a hero😂😂😂
My favorite line in the entire book is when Billy talks to Homelander in the White House. After everything has been revealed Homelander says “Do you know what this means?” And Billy “Oi” Butcher says “You turned into a fucking psychopath by mistake”
Not responsible for all the atrocities attributed to him, is not that same thing as “a good guy”, he definitely did a lot of bad things, just not a few of the worst.
Tru tru
Being innocent of a particular crime that someone else committed isn't grounds to call someone a "Good guy"
I wouldn't say he's a good guy, he's just not as bad as we thought he was
So just in case homelander lost it they built a clone of homelander that was even stronger and more insane
It all comes down to choices. He continually makes the wrong ones. Not a good guy.
Damm I ain’t know noir was like that
what is going on with a train's face there LMAO
Well I still don’t think there’s any way you could morally justify eating a baby
An exact clone bearing an uncanny resemblance.... isn't that the point of a clone?
Welp, telling Homelander is a good guy is just like telling a murderer is innocent. But he can be like Superman if the Goverment actually rise him a like normal child instead of strapping a nuke as a failsafe
Hopefully the clone does it in the prime series
@@panchevpenyo6483 I can only hope that's why they brought him back. But the talking is killing me 😂
@@RealQuickComics well if it is john's clone then we'll have to endure it until he kills john and billy finishes him
@@panchevpenyo6483 that's probably what it is. I've only watched the 1st 2 new episodes so far so I'm assuming it's not homelanders clone but some have suggested it is just a role and when 1 dies they just hire someone else to play the role. But the voice actor is the same guy that played black noir originally so I think you are correct and if so that leads up to the homelander clone and that would be dope.
Homelander is awesome idgaf if he a bad guy or a good guy
Why is homelander so caked up on that clickbait
...Ok, he wasn't a "Good Guy" just not as bad as the TV Show would make him out to be...he was still a lunatic.
I think you might want to learn what a good guy is
How was actually a good guy?? Click baiting is corny
He had x-ray vision? Then how he didn't find out about noir real identity?
this new noir might end up killing homelander in the show
Homelander still kills a lot of people, assault starlight and other shit
That's crazy so he was actually good the whole time is it going to show this in the show this other guy doing all this damage?
Vought making a stronger version of Homelander to deal with Homelander makes no sense, if anything it's recipe for making things worse 😂
I always have been confused by that reveal like does black noir doing all the horrible things mean homelander didn’t do anything bad or did black noir just do the worst of it because homelander doesn’t even know if he did those things or not
Black Noir suits is made of ZINQ😂
Bro why is the show so much different than the comic? Are they gonna bring it back around so that it follows through again? Because I don’t know how they will considering they kill noir already
@@calebfreeberg63 well I don't want to spoil the show but watch the new season, it seems like they are leading up to it but I doubt it will follow 100% with the ending of the comic. This new season so far is a mixed bag. The parts that are good are great but these romantic side plots to pad the run time are boring af, so the bad is just bad.
Homelander is absolutely not a good guy, he just didn’t do the openly vile shit that was caught on camera. He’s still absolutely a horrible person that would (and did) do those things in private.
Saying that Homelander was a good guy is like saying that Rorschach was the hero in The Watchmen.
In the show, too.
Homelander is as evil as they come. Noir is only a tad worse.
Even if he isn't as terrible as set up to look, does not mean he was at all good
Homelander = dollar store superman
“Homelander is a good guy” yeah… and I’m the fucking king of Bull shit mountain!! 🙄
Blink twice if you need help...
😆😆
Here's my question I know people are saying in the comics that Homelander couldn't see through Zinc fine understood but just think about it wouldn't that make him suspicious why would Black Noir would be using that? why is that? What is he hiding his face from me? Let me ask him.. why would you use zinc Black Noir? Why wouldn't youblet me see your face? Take the mask off i need to see your face cause I'm suspecting something I need to see the face of my teammate and that's it.
But we all know it was a plot armour for Black Noir otherwise the ending the big twist wasn't possible and it's very normal cause not everything has to make sense in any sci-fi media so yes that twist was excellent but I don't think they're going to adapt this storyline in the live action version of The Boys let's see how they conclude things there
@@sushantasingha9269 I think the reason why they're stretching it out to another season whenever they could have finished it this season is because they're going to bring it back around to the some sort of original ending. I believe that this new black noir will get killed he'll likely be blamed for what a train has been doing. Because the show is very centered around Huey and a train I think they're going to save a train for the ending and make Huey actually sad about a train's death bringing the story full circle. Along with that we will get the plot twist of black noir but it will be different because homelander in the show did do all of this terrible stuff, since we know that black noir is not homelanders clone right now so he couldn't have possibly done any of the bad stuff homelander has done. The show is good but I will disappointed if we don't get a similar ending to the comics.
@@RealQuickComics yeah I don't know who it was but someone from the boys I think the director again I don't remember correctly said that they're not going to adapt that storyline cause it won't make sense now in the show. Homelander is the real villain of the show and they don't want to ruin that which is understandable but it looks like they're adapting the virus storyline so let's see and yes your Huey and A-train prediction makes sense
@@sushantasingha9269 yeah it's clearly following a sort of political agenda so they have to completely vilify homelander so he has no redeeming qualities especially after the massive popularity of the character. Whereas invincible is allowing us to see the positive side of omni man. Neither are heroes in any way but they are more complex than the way the show has depicted homelander.
@@RealQuickComics yes you are right
And that made him a "good" guy in your eyes huh?
Just so you are clear, Homelander was still a villain in the comics
