What’s so scary is that when he accidentally killed the people he was trying not to and actually felt bad. Then he eventually turned into an emotionally detached monster over time (even more than he kinda already was)

@setstreamjam8446 a hero is someone who risks of his or her self to bring a positive outcome because it's the right thing to do.
1.) Unlike Superman, Homelander risks nothing because there's literally only two people in the world that can come close to him. Superman has Darkseid, Mongul, Lobo, Martin Manhunter, Brainiac, Any Magic user, anyone with Kryptonite... the list is long.
2.) I don't think Homelander actually solved anything. He just kills. And when he fucks up, he kills those he was supposed to protect.
3.) Homelander is doing it for the praise and recognition, not to mention the money.

They brought the best psychologist in the world to train little homelander into seeking approval from people, he could've broken out of the white room anytime he wanted, even when they put him in the furnace to see if his skin would burn he stayed, because he wanted to make them proud. So when he made a mistake killing these hostages, and they still clapped and gave him approval, that's what created the homelander we see now.

Also as a way to protect himself. By endearing himself to protect Homelander, Noir's less likely to be killed. He knows what it's like when a super strong hero wants to destroy him, he probably still has trauma from Soldier Boy abusing him.

    • @MannequinMonarch
      @MannequinMonarch 6 месяцев назад +9

      There's a few reasons.
      1. He was a major part in even helping conceive Homelander, Homelander wouldn't really be a thing if Noir didn't help get rid of Soldier Boy first, so I'm sure there's some sense of responsibility he feels to him or some kind of interesting mentality from that. This is also kind of shown with how he watches Homelander afterwards making his tea, it gives the sense that he's not just doing it out of fear but because he actually feels some level of responsibility and interest in Homelander, like he wants to be a mentor to him, and to do right by him. Maybe to avoid having another Soldier Boy, and because, like stated already, Homelander is something he helped create. He in many ways was Homelander's most positive role model and father figure(Not to say he was a good one, but the arguably best compared to Stan Edgar or Vogelbaum). He did everything Soldier Boy said he would if he had the chance to be Homelander's father. Gave him the spotlight, taught him some of the earlier reigns supposedly, he was there for Homelander start to finish.
      2. He doesn't want to get killed by him, easy as that.
      3. Vought by this point has likely made him a slave already, he is their tool, their dog on a leash. Anything that's a risk to them he must get rid of. They have made him their personal weapon and hitman for just that purpose. It's also another facet of his tragedy.

Sort of like how dogs are taught. Puppies play and when they bite too hard they get corrected by their parent or playmate so they know better next time. That's why he told Ryan it wasn't his fault for killing his mom (don't think he did, her throat was cut not burned).
Homelander had to shut off his feelings and distance himself because if you kill enough people and pets by accident, shutting down emotionally is the only way to cope.

Man, it just sucks knowing if the situation turned out better or if he had a better environment he could've genuinely been a much better person and that sucks so much to think about.

@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 You'd have to read the comics to catch what he's saying, but the show and this anthology series has not been following the comics. They've made drastic changes.

@marcusmcgill4423 I know. It's unclear what he's saying (not noir, rossmacomish). You're saying he claims noir's adaptation was failed?
Anyways both are cool in their own way even if the nose bridge on show noir looks dumb

The powers aren't what make superheros fiction, is their ability to always save the day what makes em unreal

The funniest part is Black Noir didn’t even seem to want to kill him. He was like “bro if you’ll chill out we can get over this”

This fight prove that Homelander is easily a victim of almost all fiction.
