I love how they finally showed a bit of Drax's strength and why he is the strongest guardian of the team. He is the only one who could go toe to toe for a little bit against someone like Adam Warlock. And before people start about comics, of course Adam should've finished him sooner, but talking purely about the MCU Drax finally got some time to shine to show how powerfull he can be.
Yeah but it's still pretty weak in comparison to the comics... Bro could fight hulk and win... Idk, I like the MCU's version, but I miss the competency they gave the character in the comics. I guess the same could be said for a lot of characters in the MCU, Starlord was charismatic and low key a tactical genius in the comics, Hulk was actually incredibly powerful, Thor wasn't the butt end of every joke... I think they just leaned a bit too hard towards the comedy side of things but at the expense of making their characters seem incompetent.

They want us to basically go "haha look at the funny man, he's so stupid", but want us to care as soon as things start getting serious. It don't work like that chief.
Honestly for someone called Drax the Destroyer, all his fights in the GOTG movies felt really underwhelming. Wolverine's named after basically an overgrown ferret with anger issues and still fights like more of a destroyer than Drax.
There’s actually a name for this, I don’t recall it correctly. But it describes taking a tough character and let the new bad guy beat him up to establish the villains power. Much like Thanos did with the Hulk.
Whoever did the close ups did a spectacular job. They don't feel out of place and even give the fights almost an anime feel, especially with Drax and Adam.

James Gunn elaborated Adam is still “a baby” in this movie. He’s exactly like Vision except WAY way more unaware of his FULL potential and power- I have faith moving forward they’ll truly demonstrate him as the power house he is.

yeah the guardians are all pretty durable: - quill survived holding the infinity stone - gamora and nebula are constantly hit by explosions, missiles, etc. - groot is bulletproof, drax is also bulletproof and he survived a spaceship crash unscathed - mantis was hit by a meteor and was only knocked out
