@@error8119the adamantium is poisoning him it just can't kill him because of the healing factor. Edit: and his bones are just coated in it they're not his actual bones
@@error8119 I think it's probably just a divide between what would be considered perfect. The adamantium does poison Wolverine, so it could be considered an imperfection. It's still foreign to his body, as well, so you might consider the fact that his original bones aren't regrowing to be imperfect healing.
That doesn't match with what I know, but these comics change their stuff all the time, so I may be wrong... Wolverine had his mutant power at the start, it's natural, but the metal in his body slowly poisons him. So he is in fact constantly healing from that. Deadpool got his power from an experiment. So it's all messed up, the only reason he is still alive, is because the cancer keeps his healing factor from going into overdrive, and popping him like a balloon. That's the info I had anyway idk with these power choices anymore.
This is partly correct. The reason he can’t die is not due to his healing factor. It’s due to Thanos cursing him to never be able to die so he can’t be with his love interest, Lady Death.
Deadpool's constant use of humor even in the most dire and unfitting situations makes a lot more sense once you realize it's a coping mechanism for the constant excruciating pain he's always in
We say healing factor because that’s what it is ultimately, sure it’s still cancerous and a state of infinite death, but he is technically healing from any main wounds he has. Though if we wanna get Funky with it, Wades the first Super Mutant who got juiced on FEV.
In other words, you're saying that both of them are gonna keep doing this until they're 90s... Edit: the replies...I can't lol. I enjoyed reading all of 'em.
Wolverine is older than 200yrs. His healing factor drastically slows down his aging. That's why in many post-apocalyptic events in Marvel. Logan is usually still around even though many of his friends have long since died
He also having a romance with Death herself also makes it interesting twist. Actually in the non-mcu-Earth-616 / non-Earth-10005 universes that is the origin of Deadpool. Thanos wanted the Infinity Gauntlet so he could prove himself to death by killing more people than anyone else. But death became enamored with Wade Wilson as a mercenary. So Thanos using his powers decided he could never let wade die and go to Death forever. So he cursed Wade by turning the cancer growing inside him into his entire core of his being. Thus allowing wade to always regrow from his cancer cells forever and ever. In this process the powers and his state drove him partially insane, but that insanity combined with the cosmic forces keeping him alive allow him to see into reality. However every so often when he really gets badly messed up his consciousness gets to cross over and spend time with Death.
This made no sense. If you're constantly being fed dead cells, you're literally just withering away at a rapid state. Dead cells do not equate to living cells nor function as living cells. Deadpool's healing factor is exactly the same as Wolverine's with the exception that Deadpool has a cancer debuff that his body is constantly trying to recover from. Why doesn't the cancer go away? The healing factor returns you to the original state when you received the ability... Deadpool received it trying to cure his cancer so his body is always restoring him to that specific point constantly. Edit: In short the cancer kills Deadpool, the healing factor keeps Deadpool alive, the healing factor also keeps the cancer alive. The incompatible cells are replaced with fresh cells that the cancer kills continuously. The short does not cover this and contradicts itself. Edit 2: The cancer balancing the healing factor is most likely just popular head canon or a detail forgotten by writers. My reasoning is due to characters like Lady Deadpool. She is exactly the same as Deadpool in every regard with the exception of cancer-yet her healing factor doesn't kill her despite it coming from Wolverine as well. Just wanted to share as I was reading other comments and wanted to let people know. Thought it was interesting :) Edit 3: The difference between "dying" and "dead" cells doesn't change my argument. Getting lesser cells doesn't make you as functional nor better than the average joe- especially in Deadpool's case whom is above human level. All the difference would be is Deadpool is either withering slowly from dying cells or quickly from dead cells. Pick your poison because you've added nothing to the discussion :/
Yeah. Basically his cancer got tied into his healing factor so now instead of just healing his cancer it makes his cancerous cells as hard to destroy as his healthy ones
"It made no sense," yet your first paragraph explained it perfectly. How do you understand it, and explain it if it makes no sense? First of all.... fiction. But nobody cares about that anymore. Second of all, it's DEADPOOL. The character itself and everything about him is out of bounds, zany, and weird, even if it is at risk of making no sense. He is a fictional character that knows he is fictional. Anything is fair game after that. His tissue is replaced with cancerous tissue... he is a walking ghoul. Hence, his deformed skin. Deadpool, being that much closer to death yet not there, validates his love and longing for death, in a constant state of physical pain and agony, while Wolverine is in a constant state of Mental agony. Makes a lot of sense. You can disagree, as you clearly did, but your disagreeing does not equate to it being senseless.
Deadpool is literally in constant pain but he’s learned to ignore it along with any pain he experiences from external forces. That’s why he’s able and willing to jump head first info fights, he can just ignore the pain.
He didn't learn to ignore it, he went crazy from it and trying to disassociate to ignore that he is in constant pain and also why he has 3 voices in the comics
I should rephase that I meant he tries to ignore but cannot and is what drives his craziness. He likes to jump into things cause while he is unconscious regenerating from his decisions is the only time he isn't actively feeling pain, not because he simply learned to ignore pain cause he definitely does feel all the pain he subjects himself to
It's even worse than it. He explained that to the Ghost Rider. He feels the pain, he embrace the pain, he welcomes the pain. He feels himself undeserving of anything better, and pain is the way he atones for perceiving himself as an inadequate evil man
That's not how he got the name. He got the name because there was a pool the doctors had on the people getting experimented on dying. So he kinda took on the name when someone he was friendly with had died and that's when Wade truly lost his sanity and killed a bunch of people while escaping.
@@ShineBrite516SHINEB WDYM that it "will make Thanos jealous"? Thanos' jealousy is a well-established thing, not a new one, and if I remember correctly, DP has taunted Thanos multiple times over the fact that Death loves him.

not necessarily it has to do due with his cancer his body is constantly dying he’s at his worst all the time. that’s the point he’s trying to make. where as wolverine is at his best. very simple.
One of the best marvel movies I've seen. The raw aggressive emotional connect both deep pool and wolverine had on here was perfect. And also fitting in the other characters just all fit in just right. Best dead pool out.
that's just it. Some people deal with pain through humor. When I broke my left elbow and had to start physical therapy while it was still broken, the pain was excruciating. But the entire time I was in PT, I was cracking jokes and commenting on humorous stuff to distract myself from the pain. It's hard to feel bad when you're laughing after all. Taken another way, the best comedians are often the ones hurting the most. Just look at Robin Williams.

bucky uses an adamantium prosthesis and Bullseye doesn't have anything of that nature and wolverine's skeleton is covered by adamantium and the adamantium breaks down within his body which is lethal so his healing factor basically prolongs his death until either the adamantium is fully extracted from his skeleton OR until the adamantium begins diminishing his healing factor like it did in Logan

Deadpool’s healing factor also relies on his will to heal if Wade wants to heal faster he can.if wade loses the will to heal because of something happening it takes longer to heal.
Also fun fact: for some reason certain conditions like holding off killing in general to become a better person heals Deadpool’s face and body perfectly “like he never had the cancer” until he killed someone for Spider-Man
@realgray227 he's actually 5'3" (1.60m) but the actor that portrays him and always will be him is 6'2" so no. The beloved wolverine we know and love is actually 6'2" that's hard
He basically has unchecked regeneration that is only kept in check by his cancer. If the cells that were being healed weren’t cancerous and in term constantly withering away and dying he’s quite literally explode into a giant tumorous mass.
No because cancer cells aren't "dying cells". They are rouge cells that don't work with your body anymore and start forming tumors which is a cluster of this cell replicating itself. In all reality his cancer cells would also gain the increased cell growth that causes regeneration and he would become a massive tumor.
Fun fact, Thanos once cursed Deadpool with immortality. That is, even if by chance Deadpool body would be blown to atoms, his soul would exist in a limbo denied to reach the Death's realm Most authors forgot that: in a "future story" Deadpool enters a suicide pact with his now elderly daughter, agreeing they'll blow themselves with a neutrino bomb to prevent Wade from regenerate and allowing him to "never outlast his child" During the Battleworld Saga, when Doom created Doomworld after the whole MCU was destroyed however, Deadpool's body was destroyed beyond atomic state from the whole destruction of Universe 616 (it didn't last) but until Doomworld was on, Shiklah was the leader of the Howling Commandos calling herself "Mrs. Deadpool" (they were married before the 616's destruction, they divorced when the universe was fixed and Deadpool couldn't stop caring for humanity more than for the monster people Shiklah led) and Deapool a wisecracking disembodied spirit unable to interact with the new universe save for occasionally contacting his wife for advice
No it's because he had cancer and then got his abilitys so it made more of the same cancer cells a healing factor is just making more of the same cells so the same ability just different cells
The Kree tried to give their soldier Deadpool's healing factor, thinking it would make them unkillable. It didn't do that, and in fact killed them all from super cancer.
@@Marquesadilla-c6g He only died because Tanjiro wouldn't stay a demon. If Tanjiro did stay a demon, Muzan's cells would've lived on inside of him (no homo) That's how powerful his healing is. The only thing to cause permanent damage to Muzan is Yoriichi's Sun Breathing. And that's the demon's equivalent to kryptonite, soooo. Yeah, he's strong.
Also the storyline about Deadpool falling in love with Death, and Thanos being jealous and using some powers to prevent Deadpool from dying and being with her.
Deadpools healing factor is so strong, the cancer keeps him alive. If he didnt have that to counter the healing, he would heal so fast into basically imploding. This was shown at one point when skrulls copied his powers and all instantly died
While this is the cannon explanation I can't help but point out (due to marvels continuity being ass in places) the team up between Deadpool and Spider-Man, where Peter finally got through to Wade and (briefly) stopped him killing and gave him a confidence boost. Then when Wade finally felt like he was being a better person and even felt like he was starting to be the good guy, his cancer just suddenly disappeared and he had a normal face again... Didn't last very long though as that run ended with DP having to kill a criminal so SM wouldn't have to and his cancer immediately came back... In that run they claimed the cancer was all because of how Wade views himself, and how he feels he isn't a "good guy" so he deserves something bad to remind him of that
And then there is the other run where he's immortal because Thanos curses him (and eventually un-curses him) which I guess means at one point he had double immortality?
@@SpliffingBrit124 deadpool's and thanos's immortality were never because of their abilities. death had banned them from her realm, so even if they are turned into dust, they will come back. thanos lifting the curse didn't change that, as death still won;t let deadpool in, she's a stubborn bitch.

“You can’t kill me! I’m already dying!”
Thought it was interesting :)
Edit 3: The difference between "dying" and "dead" cells doesn't change my argument. Getting lesser cells doesn't make you as functional nor better than the average joe- especially in Deadpool's case whom is above human level. All the difference would be is Deadpool is either withering slowly from dying cells or quickly from dead cells. Pick your poison because you've added nothing to the discussion :/
I was under the impression that the healing factor WAS the super cancer, at least to an extent

How does that work for Bucky and Bullseye? They both have adamantium in them.
bucky uses an adamantium prosthesis and Bullseye doesn't have anything of that nature and wolverine's skeleton is covered by adamantium and the adamantium breaks down within his body which is lethal so his healing factor basically prolongs his death until either the adamantium is fully extracted from his skeleton OR until the adamantium begins diminishing his healing factor like it did in Logan
